What do you do when you realize that your relationship was a facade and based on lies and catastrophic secrets? In this book, you realize you can never really know anyone vele. Gender-based violence is a major theme throughout from disappearing young girls to marital abuse(i cried buckets😭😭😭).

No sex scenes are going into detail which I love cause sometimes it overcrowds a beautiful story that could stand on its own. An emotional story that pulls your heartstrings which is perfect for a wet day like this🥰.

Yohh guys yabo nje yuhh okay

Zuri dated Khathu for 4 years, they got married and all seemed like a nice fairy-tale until she learnt the man she married is a total stranger.

Imagine finding out that your husband is actually a polygamist with 3 wives and 8 children and you the new fourth wife. She was blind sided because Khathu did not disclose that he had other wives and he was from a royal family.

A lot of abuse occurs in the book and Zuri felt trapped in the Dungeon and could not get away. Khathu was very controlling and it was his way or the highway.

Imagine dating a man for four years in varsity and being head over heels in love with him? Him marrying you straight after you both finish your degree, takes you to the village and switches up on you a day after your traditional wedding? Neglects you and always come to you when he wants sex or has misplaced his punching bag? On top of that, he has 3 wives and 8 children, something he gailed to disclose to you before you got married. Khathu was too much for me shame. At some point i thought Zuri's skull was going to be cracked because every minute her husband got, he threw her against the wall. Anyways it's a good book even though it made me emotional.

Too many unnecessary characters whereas the book puts focus on one character. Poor grammar plus my book had too many blank pages

The bad grammer is hard to overlook. This book was so bad, I'm convinced this is my worst read for the year . I'm only giving it a one star rating because of the Dedication/Note at the beginning.
