When you have money, power and respect, what is left to earn?

Teflon is back. No longer a hungry teenager, he is at the top of the Leeds crime ladder, contemplating his next move.

When changing circumstances open Lamont’s eyes to the world, he is forced to accept that it isn’t as easy to adjust as he thinks.

Lamont has spent his adult life watching all the angles, but life changes. People change. The streets only grow colder though, and the gang politics have reached a new peak, with deadly results . . .

With strife escalating on the streets of Chapeltown Lamont finds he has to deal with his sisters boyfriend and his negative influence on her add to that Shortys paranoia and you have drama on all sides just as he finds balance he is betrayed by one of his closest friends. Excellent 3rd book. I'm starting the 4th now having visited Chapeltown throughout the eighties and nineties I can relate to the stories and characters.

I can't wait to hear more on Lamont Jones. I have to start with the characters, I think the author took the time to develop each character personality and that translate into a strong narrative. From the the very beginning Ricky Black made me love Lamont despite the fact that he was involved in the crime world. The plot was managed beautifully keeping a flow that gave me not a boring moment in the reading. The use of descriptive, which for me it's a tricky element of writing, was done in the correct amount, enough to transport you to the fictional world the author created and not too much to make it tiring. I believe the author took a plot and translated it perfect into a book worth reading. This crime novel has it all and it has earned a place in my reading nook, I look forward to see more from the hands of Ricky Black. Target (The Lamont Jones Series Book 1)

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow, this isn't a book I would normally read but it was one wild ride, the story kept me on the edge of my seat and the characters were absolutely sensational. There were so many characters that played a vital part and it was Lamont Jones he is the Boss, most people liked him. He was at a person he knows and then he sees her, it took him a while to take her out and then when he does wow. Jenny gets hit on all the time and she put Lamont top of the list, he came up with a plan when he heard about the advertising she had.

Keeps getting better!!

I've just finished this in less than 24 hours and am about to start the 3rd, fantastic books, feel connected to the characters and just keep turning the pages. This would be a great tv series, up there with Top Boy for sure!

Thanks to author Ricky Black for my gifted copy of Target, the 2nd in the Target series featuring Lamont Jones, an up and coming gangster.

Lamont is trying to get out of the game, one last big drug deal then cash out. But things are never that simple.

A story rich in violence and drug and gang culture, Ricky Black writes with a verve and fluency that really takes you into the world of his characters.

Set in Leeds, there is almost a feel of the hit US TV show, Power, it’s almost impossible not to draw comparisons between Lamont, and Ghost of the show.

This is slick, vibrant, violent and a cracking read, plenty of action and nasty characters.

It’s very good and I’ll be looking to read the other book in the series.
