Now, that was just yummy...actually it was disgusting, and vile, and I loved every minute of it!!

Definitely not for those with a delicate stomach, as you just might feel those wiggly little maggots, making their way into your tummy, and up, out through the mouth 🤮🤮🤮

I’m ready for Episode 2 and lots more maggoty goodness...BRING IT ON!!!

5 wiggly, protein filled little stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read this story once before, and had no idea how to review it. I'm older now, and I have no qualms. This book is seriously disgusting. Upchuck or chuckles? Guess which I did? On to part 2!

Necrophilia, maggots, and roaches aside, there’s something so hot about a man writing about a woman sucking a man’s dick in the first person POV.

Hilarious depravity for a special kind of reader.

This book is so perverse it requires a special type of reader. Dare I say an elite type of reader. A reader with jaded sensibilities, a cast-iron stomach, and a black sense of humor.

Here’s a quick questionnaire to help see if you fit the profile.

1. Can you read Edward Lee books whilst eating raw oysters?
2. Can you rattle off Joe D’Amato’s complete filmography?
3. Is Lloyd Kaufman your spirit animal?
4. Did you think A Serbian Film just wasn’t that offensive?
5. Do you read the 120 Days of Sodom and find it annoyingly tame?
6. Did you laugh your arse off watching Chopper (2000)?

If you answered 'yes' to at least 4 of these questions, then congratulations: you are ready for Maggot Girl, the story of one woman’s descent into rapturous sexual depravity. What’s her kink, you ask? The clue is in the title.

This is a great story from a debut author. It's a bit rough around the edges here and there, but its overall charms shine through. The narrative voice is dynamic and witty; the prose is full of acerbic jokes and clever similes. The heroine, Morticia Maggot, is compelling, interesting, and funny, and it’s a treat to get inside her head. When the depravity in this story ramps up, it reaches a level that is extreme even by the standards of splatterpunk. How you react to it will depend on you as a reader. You might cringe, recoil, throw up, laugh, get turned on, experience a sense of catharsis – or all of the above.

For me the best thing about this story was its authenticity. Maggot Girl is a work of love. Right from page one, you can tell Otis Bateman is writing from the heart, for himself and for others like him. It gives the whole story a powerful emotional resonance that just can’t be faked. Bateman’s connection with his heroine seems especially deep. While reading this story, one gets the sense that on some level, Otis Bateman is Morticia Maggot, and vice versa. This gives Morticia a level of genuineness that is hard to find in fiction, or even in memoir. You could say this story exists in a state of hyper-reality, a plane of transcendental truth that makes it somehow seem real even when its being ridiculous. That’s a rare achievement, especially for a new author.

A final warning: if you’re not a jaded gorehound there's a good chance this story will traumatize you. If you failed my questionnaire, then beware, this is probably not for you.

I need to take a bath now. And I really wanted to have a delicious bbq lunch for the 4th of July here! Yuck!

This is like Nekromantik x10. Pure filth and disgust through the 30+ pages.

lol to the names here…. Chief Triana & Detective Laymon. Wow. That garners this 4 stars alone.

Do you ever have a craving for a book so messed up and depraved that you question yourself, wondering what sort of lifestyle choices you made in order to get to this point? This book really scratches that itch and will continue to scratch that itch once the sequels come out! Maggot Girl caught me off guard a bit with it’s artwork and with it’s nod to Nekromantik 2. Let’s be honest, did you ever think you would see that movie name dropped in any book? Me either. On top of the Grade A references and over the top, tongue-in-urethra goodness, this book also has some crazy sentences. I don’t think some of these sentences have ever been strung together in the entire history of man. My favorite example of this is, “I wanted those maggots to fill me up again as if I were a human septic tank”. Come on, that is just pure gold! This book needs to be handed to every gore lover out there, it’s just too good to not love.

I smiled to myself knowing that things were going to get damned horrific once I was released from the Hospital. In fact, I already have hatched a plan upon my release from here, to appease my newfound bloodlust. Trust me, if you think what I have told you so far was wicked, then pardon the cliché, but you ain’t seen anything yet.

I have no words. Finally found my personal limit, so that’s the plus. That was the most disgusting ugliest story I have ever read and ever will. It stuck in my mind (hopefully not too long 😅) Idk how to rate it, it was well written, some parts were funny, I liked her sarcasm, but yeah most of it was disgusting but the word disgusting isn’t even close to it. I really can’t… 1 star would mean it was bad, it wasn’t, it is just… ugly in the ugliest way. 5 star would mean I had a good time, what I definitely didn’t have. So I cut it down. But if you not into some really really ugly shit then I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you, then this book will satisfy you 😅

Okay I learned this is „splatterpunk“… idk what exactly that is but maggots, bugs, rotten pizza and body fluids of rotting dead men aren’t my thing aaaaand I don’t want to imagine those things in my pussy … soooo I am obviously not into solatterpunk 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 maybe I should have view this as comedy… is this meant to be comedy? Idk… all I can say it is not for me 🫣

This book is meant for the most depraved of horror fans, but if you have the stomach to endure the content in this book, you are in for a hell of an experience. I can't say that I've ever read anything like it, but I'm intrigued and excited to see where the story goes.

Otis Bateman does a great job at keeping the reader interested and coming up with new scenes of depravity that make the last seem like childs play by comparison. Very entertaining book through and through.

4/5 stars

P.S. - I'd like to thank this book for exposing me to the wonderful world of "rosebudding" 😅

A very disgusting, vile and totally gross read...OMG! what Maggot Girl did to herself and the dead was shocking to say the least...I could practically taste and smell everything she described each time I turned a new page...but I did enjoy the story and it was very well written and held nothing back...I've had a maggot phobia for much of my life...I hate the bloody wriggling things...so I did wonder if I could actually read this...but it was no trouble at all, maybe it's cured me? But I won't be going as far as putting them where this young lady did that's for sure!🤮😳🐛🤣

This novella has definitely hit the mark of being extreme that's for sure. If your looking to be disgusted out of your mind then you have found the right book. After reading this book it left me looking into space like wtf have I just stained into my brain. Long story short I absolutely loved, just the type of story I wanted to read. Anyways if your aa depraved and sick as me you'll probably like it too.

What a fucking shit show! Saying this book was gross is an understatement. This book is combination of, Fight Club, American Psycho, and the garbage water after the compactor squeezes.

This story follows magott girl, a.k.a morticia, on her sexual perversion of a journey into the world. She has a strange fetish which I will not spoil (it becomes apparent quite quickly). Her need for depravity escalates into full blown insanity. The author adds a great dose of hilarity and vivid (and nauseating) imagery. His descriptions, use of pop culture and author Easter eggs is great and well. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

Otis Bateman is one talented writer. Not only was he able to cause my stomach to knot up with his descriptions, but the story took me right in. A brutal and disgusting piece of literature that I would highly recommend if you're looking to go a few shades green. Excellent work, Otis, can't wait to start the next!

That was a awesome hour of my life because I am the filthy incarnate that fucking loves this shit!! I totally went on this depraved and blasphemous carnal path. And I loved it.

Fuck yeah! I mean if you read this putrid slice of pie we call extreme horror or Splatterpunk. You will get all the delicious references thru out this wiggling, morbid, utterly fantastic story.

And a Episode 2 is coming soon............Shut the the front fucking door!! Hurry the fuck up and write it. I can not wait for more Morticia!! I will forever be one of your degenerate fans.

Insane debut.
I’m giving this 2 ⭐️ for copious amounts of gore, gruesome images, vile descriptions and absolute disgust. Other than that it was meh.
Also, I can’t really call this a very original story because this felt so much like a “wild” version of that Blowfly girl’s blog, which is an actual story of a real life maggot girl.

If anyone wants to read the original 2008/2009 blog I can send you the link personally(dm me).

I love to be horrified and grossed out. Not much has ever gotten to me and then this book happened. I can honestly say that this messed me up and I’m not even sure how to rate nor review something like this.

When will I learn? I'm always hesitant about buying all the books in a series before I've read the first one in case I don't like it...but I loved this one and now have to wait for the others to arrive.

MAGGOT GIRL was absolutely vile, filthy, and disgusting, and I loved every word, except for the roaches *shudders*

If you need something to test your boundaries, give this piece of filth a whirl!

That was, uh . . . creative?

The author's stated aim and warning, all in one:
This story is disgusting, I am not going to lie. I am not writing this as anything more than what it really is, pornography for psychos.
In this, a rousing success! I enjoyed/loathed this much more than my other recent sampling of "extreme horror"; I need at least a little bit of supernatural in my horror, and this, while not technically including such, was at least sufficiently divorced from reality (please, please be divorced from reality) to pluck my strings. It was nauseatingly depraved, absurd, disgusting, and quite the character study. I probably could have done without the illustrations, but the text-induced visuals were even more extreme. The writing was maybe a little sophomoric, but this is likely a necessary function of the subject matter.

When I got to chapter three, I remember distinctly thinking, "Jesus Christ, that was only chapter TWO??!?" So it's that kind of ride. I hoped each chapter (of five) would then get progressivly more deranged, and chapter three delivered well, but the last two followed a different path towards story resolution, setting the stage for future stories about this character.

It's very hard to quote from the text without spoiling the content or sending schoolmarms screaming, but I captured these phrases to give a relatively safe taste of what's in store for the unwary:
My mind spun wickedly as I decided to make myself Death’s personal toilet for the day.
[. . .]
. . . as if I was a whale shark inhaling plankton.
[. . .]
I wondered if I would become a Wendigo later, that would be fetch, I thought.
[. . .]
I belched and an immoral stench emitted from me, reeking of purification.
I liked the nods to Fight Club.

E-book formatting is okay, except the line spacing in dialogue sections needs some touch-ups.
