"But the other puzzle is this. Why can't I seem to move past this moment where everything is revealed, confirmed, the precise moment when we break the connection? The door, which was open a crack, closing. The rotary dial phone, clattering to the floor. My wife, lost to the brute. And I'm lost too, in this kind of ecstasy of shame that takes me out of myself, and deeper into this kind of ocean roar feeling."
I’m for real. This is my life and struggle as a cuck. I don’t mind role playing but people should say if that’s what they’re doing and should say who they are. I said really personal stuff to Harvey. So cool, some lady who works at a hospital knows all about me. Maybe the same hospital I was checked into for all I know. Be for real, people. Honesty counts. And don’t assume we can all see the irony. We just see the face you show us.
I wonder if I’ll find out Patrick or Clive or Bill is “ironically” fucking my wife, that he doesn’t really mean it. Man, what the hell is wrong with people? I’m steamed this morning and I haven’t even had my damn coffee.
Why is my life about Bill and guys like him? I mean I like it, it’s kind of relaxing. I never wanted to be the star of the show, I’m a simple guy, supporting cast, maybe.
What I got to thinking about is all those old Roman mystery cults and household gods, and how maybe I know the secret now. You meet one guy, one punishingly intense, serious cock, and you change your life for it. Even if you're a guy and can’t get fucked by it. Or maybe you can, I don’t know what that would feel like.
Maybe that’s what humanity is, not the human species but humanity, culture, a sedimentation of little cults, each following one guy who’s worth it. All that energy, all that history, somebody was packing heat. That’s real religion: real dick. I think what scares Pastor Mark is that he knows that, he can’t deny it now. Maybe that’s what Jesus was, even.
