Queeroes 2 is where Riverdale meets X-Men and Queer As Folk.

“More witty and fun than its predecessor.”
Instinct magazine

By the award-winning, bestselling author Steven Bereznai, Queeroes 2 delivers an action-packed sequel in this epic series about gay teens with superpowers…and super angst.

Sinister forces descend on small-town Nuffim, threatening jock empath Troy, scrawny geek strongman Gibbie, inviso-cheerleader Mandy, and her man-pal, feral fabulous Chad.

Can the Queeroes face a cadre of super-charged lesbian foes—and their darkest fears—to become their truest selves?

Or will their powers, new Queeroes loves, and old exes, bring out their most villainous desires?

“Teen angst has never been so entertaining or looked so good. I can’t wait for Queeroes 3!”
The Advocate

Queeroes 2 makes me want a high-school do-over.”
—Jessica Gao, Emmy Award winning writer for Rick and Morty and Head Writer for Marvel’s She-Hulk

“Bereznai has the imagination of Stan Lee with the wit of RuPaul.”
IN magazine

“I love Bereznai’s characters and hope they come to your rescue the way they rescued me.”
—Tom Cardomone, The Lavender Menace: Tales of Queer Villainy

Bestselling, award-winning author, Steven Bereznai is known for writing speculative fiction that can be a little dark, but always fast, fun, and fierce. Drawing on his own experience as an Achillean neurodivergent outsider, his heroines and heroes often get beaten down, but, bruises and all, they find a way to stagger across the finish line.

From Steven:
"I came out in my late teens and feeling like an outsider has deeply impacted my sensibility. I love writing that combines sass, heart, speculative fiction, and (where appropriate) abs. Basically, shows like Buffy, Teen Wolf and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power."

Another fun superhero book. I have to give it 4.5 stars due to the spelling errors which appeared all the way through. I like that it left an opening for a third book in the series.

This book was received as an ARC from Jambor in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I have not read the first installment of the Queeroes series but from reading Queeroes 2, I did enjoy the adventure and the characters from each story. This book was new and different and not your typical YA superhero adventure story which is the exact reason why our YA enthusiasts at our library will have an open mind while reading this book. Incorporating new romances and old encounters from the past made this book so much interesting and there were twists everywhere you turn which made this book even more exciting.

We will consider adding this title to our YA collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

I was not a fan of the lesbians vs gays motif of this sequel but it maintained the sass and banter of the first book. The drama ramped up from high school level bullying to defining what makes a supervillain. Ultimately I’m still interested to see where the author takes the cliffhanger.

A more complex plot than the first book. A lot of fun to read. Things do not quite seem to all add up until a plot twist makes it all come together in the end.

The second is just as fun as the first! Funny, snappy, well written. One problem: it goes so fast, I want more!!
