I have written 419 short stories in the horror genre and 350 love songs..

Stephen King is my favorite horror writer, and I admire what King has accomplished in the horror genre in terms of movies made from his considerable volume of work.

I have over 10 million views on my You Tube videos and more than twenty thousand subscribers.

I listen to audio books while walking almost everyday. I also create book trailers and covers, attend various writing classes, watch as much media as possible in a 19 hour day, do sudoku and crossword puzzles. I've written over 350 love songs. I was poet laureate of my high school and college. I worked in Washington, DC for 16 years and 23 years in NYC for one of the world's largest architectural firms. I'm married to a wonderful woman who I would marry again if I had to start over.

Stupendous!

I’ve read a lot of books and horror collections that are pretty good, but seldom find any that are great. This is one of the great ones.

There are five stories in this collection and each one is great, greater and the greatest!

For .99 cents, this is a great buy.

Five stars. ✨✨✨✨✨

Wow, Billy Wells really hit big with this five story anthology. LOL In the first story "Surprise! Surprise" we see a birthday surprise that absolutely deserves the use of surprise. What has Gregory done? In "The Tomb" we see Brian's last chance to hold his job at the museum. Will he and his father survive the curse of the pharao? "Something in the Dark" is lurking for Ivy. Can a shrink get rid of the monster once and for all? "The Taxidermist" is an especially sinister story about a taxidermist taking care of an avid and proud hunter. Last and least you'll meet "The Clown at Midnight". A horror fan gives the correct answer to a quiz and a clown promises to drop by a t midnight... Billy Wells is a true storyteller in the tradition of the cryptkeeper. This is true old fashioned and brilliant horror if there ever was one. Nasty, obscene, satirical, stunning. Highly recommended!

Wow. These stories are astoundingly bad. The writing is little more than a dry accounting of facts, something you might find in the worst newspaper, and the attempts at any flavor are consistently awkward. For example:

Angus repositioned his butt cheek in the director's chair and said, "Go on."
or
They ended the evening having a bout of rip-roaring sex in front of a breathtaking picture window overlooking the expanse of Manhattan.

The opening story projects its oh-so-shocking ending by a mile, and really, necrophilia is not a new idea in horror, and the description here was just laughably bad. The second story rips off the melting face scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark and worse, the ending is... exactly what was predicted by the rumors, so again it fails to be shocking, surprising, or even interesting in any way.
The last story was a poor rendition of the practical joke of attempting to scare someone turning into a disaster when the target of the joke fights back - but not with any real build up tension, or in any clever way, just a oh shit - it's candid camera time. And with clowns. yawn. And the alleged "scariest" movie is just clips from a bunch of horror movies - no actual horror movie fan would be freaked out by that at all.
Lame from one end to the other.

I like Mr.Wells

yet I really wish they'd put in the description that every story in this book has previously been published. I was thinking that 'oh these are new', they aren't. I wasn't able to readily identify theses previously read and paid for stories based solely on their names but yeah,I already own these in other Billy Books I bought hence three stars rating. During this pandemic I have increased my reading appetite. I likened the experience as if I were getting a creamy delicious strawberry cheesecake and I giggled to myself bc I bought it while at work so I couldn't indulge there. I couldn't wait to get home get through my duties/obligations then sit ,enjoy my treat with a cup of coffee then I opened my box it was full of golden Oreo's. See I like them too,yet I was expecting something more. Before purchasing go check your Billy Book library to see if you have these already.

Good quick little book of stories!

Good solid stories! Just didn't give enough detail for me. I like a story like I like a steak...lots of meat on the bone. Stories are short and you have no connection with the charaters before the story ends. I enjoyed them just wanted more.

Ice sickles

If Ice sickles makes sense to you, then this story might be one you enjoy - if you’re a stickler for details & mentally replaced with icicles, you should skip this drivel.

These stories were a little better, but not by much. Again not really what I would call horror stories. Some of them felt like I'd heard them before or watched them on a movie. Just no real substance to the writing, plot, characters or much else.
