Tunnels? You didn’t know there were tunnels under the city of Pittsburgh? Well, neither did Tristan...

A curious art history student disturbs a lonely recluse holed up in an historic building in downtown Pittsburgh's 'Golden Triangle'. Together they investigate the mystery behind the building and in the process unearth evidence of a long-dead, illicit love affair. That discovery leads them into the basements of the city as they delve into the mystery surrounding a love triangle from the past. Will that ancient romance help kindle a modern one for our history sleuths at the same time?

THE STYLITE CHRONICLES is the second literary collaboration of authors Tag Gregory and Lily Marie). Like their first novel - TIME BLITZ - the STYLITE series of books tell a story that defies genre classification. It’s replete with romance, mystery, history, humor, and adventure. It’s a story that explores the struggles gay men face, regardless of which century they find themselves in.

We like to call it a ‘Mystery History Romance’ and we think you’ll like it.

“History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.” ~ Maya Angelou

After discovering the secret stairs in the boardroom, Tristan and Brandon, of ‘Stylite: History (The Stylite Chronicles 2) by Tag Gregory and Lily Marie, go downstairs to the basement. After looking around a bit, they find a map of the building. Since the dirt and dust of the basement are freaking Brandon out, along with merely being in the place where his grandfather would send him for punishment when he was a child, Tristan suggests that he go it alone.

After they explore further, they come upon a brick wall with a crooked brick. Not being able to help himself, Tristan decides to try to straighten it. To his surprise, an entire section of the wall opens up into a secret room. When they hear noises from inside the room, their minds start conjuring up images of ghosts or worse. However, instead of spectral beings, it is William Shakespaws, Brandon’s cat.

Assuming that Brandon has had enough stimulation for the day, Tristan goes back to his apartment. He and his roommate/best friend, Darla, have a long conversation about Brandon and his obsessive behavior. Darla tries to help Tristan come up with ways to help Brandon deal with his issues. They both know it will take a long time; it will take a series of pushes and what will seem like baby steps. Every time Brandon makes even the smallest amount of progress, he will become just a little bit more comfortable and able to make changes that will enrich his life. Also, Tristan tells Darla about the secret stairs and room and, of course, she wants to go over right away and explore. However, Tristan knows that his agoraphobic boyfriend would die of stress if she did that.

It takes several attempts but Tristan, Brandon, and Darla are amazed by the historical secrets hidden in the tunnels, particularly with the discovery of a diary that belonged to William, son of John Carnegie. The stories told within shine a light on the purpose of the underground tunnels that crisscross the city.

The second book in this series is even more exciting than the first. Tristan is incredibly patient with Brandon’s OCD rituals and with his slow but sure sexual awakening. Things definitely heat up between Brandon and Tristan in more ways than one. Thank you, Tag and Lily. I’m looking forward to the next story.

Much more about Tristan and Brandon, and trying to push past Brandon’s OCD.
We got building history last time and now it is all about secret tunnels - one is found in the basement, with a secret room.
Tristan is in his element, piecing together evrything.
Brandon does have to let go of some of his OCD to help when Tristan injures himself.
The findings at the end give Tristan more reasons to continue investigating.

And the plot thickens

I am completely addicted The Stylite Chronicles.

In book 2, Tag Gregory and Lily Marie continue weaving a well crafted and smart storyline where history, friendship, humor , mental illness , romance and mystery come together seamless.

I can only image the amount of research it took to write these books; very impressive , indeed.

Onwards to book 3 .

Such a great adventure. I loved that it was like a mystery hidden inside a romance. The characters were quirky and endearing. And the final book in the series should be even better.

I am so in love with this series!!!

OMG! I love this series. Brandon and Tristan are so adorable and wonderfully written. I really love living vicariously through them while they explore and learn more about Brandon's building. The relationship between Brandon and Tristan is very sweet and innocent. I can't wait to see where the relationship and the story go!!
