Okay, after all of those reveals, I'm definitely more on board with this world and its lore. Seeing Maki/Octavia in so much pain brought me to tears, and I appreciate the mangaka showing the trauma that can come from isekai anime/manga like these. The politics aren't too interesting to me, but seeing Octavia's renewed inner strength and her desire to take her fate into her own hands is inspiring. I'm glad she's still a little goofy, it keeps her grounded.

Very curious to see where the series goes from here. I have a bit of a wait, but I get the feeling it will be worth it.

Okay, this series finally has some juicy intrigue! There's clearly a difference between this current reality versus the reality of the original novel that the FL read. The opening chapter of this volume was also wild. I did NOT expect it to get that existential! The opening chapter honestly has changed my view of the series, it's clearly deeper and more mind-bending than it seems at first. Also, in spite of this being a romance manga, there are only a few bites worth of romance. But my god, those are some delicious bites! I'm actually interested in how the relationship between the FL and the knight guard will develop. There's also that plotline with the younger brother at the end of the last chapter, the seems like it will develop into something extremely interesting! I'm glad I gave it another chance and didn't drop the series after the first volume!

We get some backstory on Octavia, or should I say Mai. And good grief that god/being was just yikes. I felt for Mai (so much, I can imagine her collapsing at seeing that person along with all she experienced and the fact she will never be able to probably go back home), she was thrown into something much bigger and given how we see that this world is being different from the novel at points, I fear that something is coming, especially given the revelations at the end by Octavia's younger brother who sees visions/dreams + seems to be cursed.
Also interesting to meet Rust and see who else reacted to him the way Octavia did.
At times it was a bit too much blabla for me, but that may also be because because I just feel crap today (eczema on my face is flaring + shark week is going full Jaws).
I am definitely curious what is next and how this one will end in volume 5!

It’s alright, but not exactly where i saw this series going when I first picked it up. Very informative heavy this volume and I’m not sure I followed along very well as I’m just left sitting afterwords a tad bit confused as to what is ‘canon’ to the world that the MC remembers and what is added in by ‘god’.

Maybe that’s the point but without volume 4 to confirm I’m left just a little put out.

It does also feel like they’re setting up Klifford to be like this ultimate evil guy? Maybe for the enemies to lovers trope with a dash of secret enemy?

Also I’m picking up vague senses of Octavia’s younger brother being more then just sibling love and I am not ready to get incest jump scared by yet another manga.

A little short

There was some really good intrigue in the story this volume. I'm starting to wonder where they're going with some of it. I like a lot of the ramifications that the story brings to the genre.

And the plot thickens... I like that it's implied that because she was put in this world, that it now changes that world's storyline. Because things that were supposed to have happened didn't and things that never happened now have. Interested to see where they take this.
