She leaned back and let him take her weight. “You feel so good,” he whispered and planted a kiss on the top of her head. Craig made her feel safe. Built like a mountain, his body dwarfed hers in a protective cocoon. It was like having a protective wall between her and the rest of the world.
She pulled away from him to take the pancakes from the pan. Yes, she was showing off when she flipped the last pancake in the air, and it landed on top of the others on his plate. Craig picked up the saucepan and drizzled the syrup across his plate. Taking a finger, he dipped it into the sweet moisture. “Hmmm, sweet. But not as sweet as you.” He placed a tiny speck of the still warm syrup against her lips then kissed her.
