Three Whiskeys Deep is an artistic journey into the void, scribbled frantically into notebooks and typed on a 1958 Olympia SM4. There are things only the night can tell you-cosmic whispers that can only be heard when the sun has given leave. There are wounds that must be healed beneath a full moon, parts of you that can only be discovered under a canopy of stars. The poems and illustrations in this book were channeled from the Universe, during a time when the author wrestled with the question: Will I always be alone? Is there more to this than flesh and bone?
An amazing collection of poems that can help the reader through trauma or loss. Provides a sense of closure and hope as you move through the poems. Reading it is like processing your own shadow through a view at someone else’s.
Overall, the collection was short and to the point. There were four or so poems that resonated with me, the rest were slightly better than ok. There were a lot of words and comparisons that repeated between poems and that was a little dragging, but overall it was a nice quick read
The only thing that brought this down a star for me is that most of the poems more or less said the same thing. However, I do get they were from the same “portal” and that is probably why. The solar return edition is definitely the way to go. It is super fun to use as an “oracle” book by flipping to a random page.
