Love comes in several forms. The love of money, the love of life, the love of survival, and the love of the game. For Zaim LeRoux and Davina Hudson, they have found love in all of those things. But most importantly, they’ve found a shatterproof love in one another - or so they thought. For the last six years of their lives, they’ve experienced mountain peaks and valleys and always managed to hold on to one another. Their strength to remain on each other’s team and successfully run one of the industry’s most notorious record labels is about to be tested. As life throws its wrenches, can Zaim and Davina remember to feel the beat that fueled their relationship? Or will the bassline fade into silence?
If you are in to second chance romances, look no further, this is the read for you. Zaim and Davina have a good thing going on, but Davina wants more. Like any other female in a relationship, Davina wants the ring and marriage, she doesn't just want to be a live-in girlfriend for the rest of her life. The only problem is, Zaim doesn't want to get married. "If you love me, make me feel it. Not with control or money but with your actions. If you can't give me that, I can't be here. I stayed lone enough without getting what I really wanted, and I can't do that for another six years."
Davina is a no nonsense, headstrong woman. She's also an attorney acting as a Music Mogul's manager. "Truth was that I was all those things while being his lover, homie, and friend. I was the strongest soul tie to ever attach to him and he knew it. But like her mom," I couldn't help but wonder if she was holding herself back for Zaim. "You are a lawyer! You graduated at the top of your class. Black excellence that has tied her life up with black scum." When she finally realizes her worth, she chucks the deuces up on Zaim for him to get his act together and come to his senses. That is until life throws a curveball that forces them back in to each other’s lives.
Zaim is a mannish fella from New Orleans, he has just enough charm to not be considered a dickhead. His green eyes and creole features have all the ladies swooning, but that's part of his problem, Davina wants to be the only one enraptured in his charisma. His stubbornness and fear almost make him lose out on the best thing that ever happened to him. "Playing with Davina's heart was dangerous. She gave me every ounce of herself and my scared ass couldn't give her half of me without pause." That is until life forces him to grow up and become a better man.
This book was filled with drama, betrayal, and deceit. It even had a splash of ghetto and comedy, which is a sure way to keep my attention. It even gave readers some inspirational words. "Don't ever stop fighting. Don't ever stop saying I love you, even when it's hard to. And son, it will be hard at times. But stay and hold on. You two are a testament of what love is and what it means to build in the name of love." Overall, I enjoyed it and can't wait to see what else Beatsville has in store readers.
The fact that this was Aubree’s first full-length novel is mind-blowing. My sis did that!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
“If you love me, make me feel it, not with control or money but with your actions. If you can’t give me that, I can’t be here. I stayed long enough without getting what I want, and I can’t do that for another six years.”- Davina Hudson
Zaim LeRoux and Davina Hudson have been rocking together for six years, and everything with them is fantastic; well, everything except that Zaim doesn’t want to get married. Divina is a no-nonsense, headstrong attorney acting as a music moguls manager. She has given him six years of her life. It has helped him build an empire, cleaned up his image, and is helping continue the growth of their record label. But Zaim is dead set on never getting married. Divina knows her worth, and she chucks the deuces up on Zaim.
“Playing with Davina’s heart was dangerous. She gave me every ounce of herself, and my scared ass couldn’t give her half of me without pause.”- Zaim LeRoux
Zaim was working my nerves initially like boy, stop playing and apologize and get your woman. He was letting his ego and pride stand in the way. He even had his friends and artist telling him about himself. Once that secret was revealed, he came to his senses quickly!! That man went and snatched her ass up.
This story is packed with drama, betrayal, and deceit. It also focuses on love, loyalty, and friendship. So many valuable life lessons were dropped.
I loved the supporting cast just as much as the main characters. I need to know what Pilar and Dayton got going on. And we need Kenyan to get his HEA. He deserves a beautiful love story.
Annett had me looking at her funny in some parts of the book (especially when he squeezed her old ass in Davina’s dress 😂), but when she put Elonia in her place, I became her biggest fan! Somebody had to let that awful woman know something.
Elonia needs to catch these hands! She already pissed me off in Keeper of my Soul, and this book didn’t make it any better, so yea, I need her to see me ASAP!
Aubree, you are killing this series!! Wow!! Each book gets better and better.
This book is certainly the best full length novel I've read in a long while..It kept my interest from the very beginning. Zaim and Davina's love story was a rocky yet beautiful one ❤❤. All the trials and obstacles they had to face to get to the end taught them lessons which made it worthwhile. The dynamic and personalities of the supporting characters were what made the story interesting, It went From overbearing intrusive parents to manipulative obsessive Ex you are in for a treat!!! Despite it all their love grew only stronger. love wins 💕💕..
Aubree Pynn delivers a gripping, emotional, and masterfully written story with Make Me Feel It. This novel explores love in its many forms—love for money, life, survival, and the game—while honing in on the deeply imperfect yet enduring love between Zaim LeRoux and Davina Hudson.
The character development in this book is truly commendable. Each character, whether main or supporting, brought their own depth and uniqueness to the story. Davina's strength and resilience stood out, especially when she chose to walk away when her needs and worth were not being met—a moment that resonated deeply and served as one of the book's most powerful highlights. Zaim’s unwavering protectiveness of her, along with Kenyan’s grounded and thoughtful presence, added layers of richness to the narrative.
Kenyan, in particular, was a standout. His ability to hold both Zaim and Davina accountable, while offering sound advice, made him a character you can’t help but want more of in the future. Annett was another gem in the story—a true mother figure for Davina, embodying love and care in ways Davina desperately needed.
On the flip side, Aubree Pynn doesn’t shy away from penning flawed and deeply complicated characters. Yemi, Davina's mother, was the embodiment of pain and toxicity. Her actions were infuriating, yet by the end, her internal struggle and fragile conscience added a layer of tragic complexity to her character. And while it’s hard to forgive her actions, it’s impossible not to appreciate the rawness with which her story was told.
This book wasn’t just about love—it was about pain, growth, survival, and the unshakable beat of a relationship tested by life’s greatest challenges. The comedic relief, tension, and emotional depth balanced beautifully, making this a well-rounded and unforgettable read.
Aubree Pynn’s ability to write nuanced relationships and complex family dynamics is unparalleled. Make Me Feel It is not just a romance—it’s an exploration of what it means to fight for love, even when life tries to drown out the music.
This book had so many ebbs and flows and I loved every minute of it. So many life lessons learned from this book. I read it days ago but I wanted it to stay in my spirit because this was a true test of love type story.
Girl You Are To Me All That A Woman Should Be And I Dedicate My Life To You Always
Zaim and Davina had a love that beat to it's own drum that was unstoppable and everlasting. Zaim knew that Davina was his air but he still took her for granted until she left him and made a list of demands. I like how close and protective of Davina that Kenyan, Dayton, Davis, and Cash were even when her and Zaim was beefing. Pilar and Larayne were also ride or dies for Davina as well especially telling and showing her that they always had her back. Zaim never should've allowed Yemi the liberties that he did from the beginning especially knowing she was trying to make problems for him at home. It's sad that it seemed as though it was Jabar who was trying to break up Zaim and Davina when it was her own mother Elonia who didn't want her own daughter to be happy but miserable like herself. I'm glad that David divorcing Elonia because she has major issues and it was too funny each time that Annett went in on Elonia. That ending left much to be desired though...Zaim and Cash boarded a plane that crashed but Zaim got off at the last moment but everyone thought he was still on it. Cash survived and was airlifted to the hospital around the same anniversary date that he list his brother. Kenyan got it out the mud with Zaim and Zaim wants him to find the same happiness that he has. Pilar and Dayton seems to lowkey have something going on. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Beatsville saga.

Second book by this author because after reading Maybe for the Summer I had to meet Zaim and Davina. I cannot lie this book was good but I did not care for Zaim. They showed waaay too much love for one another for him to be so flirtatious and disrespectful. I didn’t like how he played in Davina’s face like he did. Ok, you don’t want to get married then let her go. He was nothing without her and at times I felt like that was why he kept her. Then, he was with her for 6 years and never cheated but the minute y’all separate you start having everything moving. Made me feel like that’s why he didn’t want to get married. He wasn’t done being a dog. Then, Davina is pregnant so I knew the author wouldn’t have her sleeping with Jabar. Lots of moving parts to the book but I kept up. It became wordy at times so I skimmed through a little bit and was still able to keep up. Definitely going to read more by this author.
Zaim was irking me at times with his selfishness and refusal to understand that his woman could see things better than he could. He was about to lose it all when he let Davina walk out. Luckily for him, their love was too strong to let it all end. He should have been dead that Yemi situation but like most men, couldn't see how he was feeding into her. Davina had me concerned w in the Jabar. And Jabar reminded me of Jafar from Aladdin lol. Davina's momma left me speechless with just how far she was willing to make everyone as miserable as she just to keep up appearances. Zaim needs to put his foot down with his momma though. She crosses the line way too. I couldn't deal with it. I cannot wait to see what else is coming from Beatsville!
OMG!!!!!! Make Me Feel It really DID make me feel everything — every emotion, every heartbreak, every moment of joy. This book was absolutely phenomenal.
I love love — and I love a happy ending to match — and this story delivered. The life, the death, the betrayal… it was all so beautifully written. There was so much pain, but just as much light and happiness to balance it out.
Zain and ViVi stole my heart. I’m so glad they pulled through. This book was such a reminder that some mothers never truly know the impact they have on their daughters well into adulthood — for better or worse. I was so relieved her dad stepped up and that she had built a circle around her capable of loving her just as fiercely as she loved them.
I’m already running to grab the next book — I need more!
This was a good but looooong story. I feel like there was some parts that could have been left out to get to the point. I would have given 3 1/2 stars if I could, but didn’t wanna take it down to just 3, due to some of the dry parts and ALL OF THE ERRORS smh. It go soooo freakin frustrating sometimes, and this is a new author for me. I will def be waiting on part two and trying to catch up on other work by her. I loved the growth in both characters. I kind of wish Jabar didn’t die and got sent to jail, to me death is too easy, I wanted him to drown in his failures. I hope her mother gets nothing. Now I can’t wait for pt2 to get the explanation of the ending. Keep up the good work and pleeeeaaase get something done with the editing.
I loved this story. I don't like that there was yet another woman waiting out six years knowing she wanted to be married, but she was firm and gave Zaim the option to step up or step off. Side characters were a hoot! The three star rating is for poor editing, or lack of editing. There were entirely too many run-on and incomplete sentences. A couple of words were misused. There were instances where I was unsure which character was speaking. In the beginning, I thought Kenyan was a girlfriend, then a male who identified as female, to it finally becoming clear that he was very much a male who happened to be a bodyguard. The proper editing will make this novel fire!
Everything about this book was perfection. I will die on the heel of this being an amazing freaking Read. I absolutely love Ziam and Davina story.... I'm I'm not going to lie I wish that Davina's trifling a** mom died because she was an awful person and even though she came through in the end of an alive Jabar I still don't like her I don't make up for what she did. Jabar got what he deserved and 10 claps for that. Loved Venus daddy making up for lost time....Zaim Though he had me heated in the beginning he definitely redeemed himself after he wouldn't got his girl... But miss ma'am what happened to cash what happened after that plane crash you can't leave me hanging see now I gotta finish the series... And will.
“Make me Feel It” did just that for me, made me feel everything! From the life that Davina continuously poured into Zaim, to the pain of losing your person. Davina through it all rode for Zaim until he needed to FEEL the loss of becoming to comfortable. Zaim had some lessons to learn and in true Aubree fashion she wrote this story so deeply that you felt every page.
Right up until the 99% mark in the book where you begin saying to yourself “Here we go again”! As not to spoil the story, I’ll simply say buckle up and get ready to ride this roller coaster in Beatsville.
Lawd hammercy, Zaim and Vina put me through it, more so it was Zaim. That couple experienced every madness but their love for each other never faltered. I absolutely appreciate how the writer developed her characters giving Davina unwavering strength and allowing us to witness the evolution of Zaim that felt both genuine and authentic. Elonia, Davina's mom is the devil and Zaim's mom was hilarious, certifiable crazy. This book allowed the entire spectrum of emotions and while it ended the way it did, I felt completely satisfied. The author owes me nothing. Great work!
Wow is all I can say. Zaim took ViVi through it because of his fears and his upbringing. I was ready for Davina to leave that man too but I also wanted him to get it together! Davina saw Zaim from the bench to the height of his career. She continued to support him all while ensuring she was able to grow and have her own.
A woman in love will do anything and accept anything until she is able to take the blinders off and put her foot down to speak up or walk away.
I wish Zaim listened to Davina regarding Yemi. I was shocked at Jabar’s revelations and the truth about Elonia.
Wow!!!❤❤👏👏 This novel was soooooo dang great!!!👏👏👏 I felt like I was watching an award winning movie. Ms. Pynn has proven over and over again that she is a force to be reckon with in the literary world. She wrote the heck out of this book!!!!
Zaim stayed on my nerves in the beginning but it was hilarious how he finally got his woman. He and Davina were made for each other. I enjoyed the revisit with past characters like Summer and Ares. Davina's mom, really lady and the end was just WOW!!!
Man where do I begin...Dang Ziam and Davina are definitely goals. I could rock hard for her I loved how she support and how she taught people how to treat her. Ziam is the typical male and I love how he loved. This book had me like I was living this life and man the end. I’m just gonna say if you ain’t read this you missing out. Great job don’t leave me hanging long.
This story had a lot of moving parts, but it was a great story with lots of twist and turns. I love how the author touched on depression and suicide as well as the other topics in the story. I thoroughly enjoy the layers to each character and the love story not only the romantic love story but the friendships. As well as the healing love story between a daughter and a daddy. Definitely worth the read.
OMG!!! What a good read. ViVi held her man down. But Zaim held her down too. Although he was afraid of true commitment, she was the woman to mature him into a man. Her mom won’t get much of my time, but her dad, I would’ve loved to see more interaction from him. I loved the crew and what they stood for. All I’m going to say is Jabar and Yemi 🤷🏽♀️...Aubree Pynn has done it again.
Honestly AP…you did not have to take us through it like this! I just can’t! Honestly, to see that couple just kind of navigate how to love each other correctly, set boundaries, and learn from their mistakes. Babyyy! Zaim my love. Love you Bae 🙃🤞🏾🩷😂😂😂 BIG PYNN with another one! Bring ya tissues, ya mousekatools, and preferred vice! It’s gon get real!
*spoiler alert* there is a HEA with a slight cliffhanger.
is there no sequel??? what the heck was that ending?? anyways i love davina and zaim so bad 😭 im so easy like i could love characters for just breathing! davina left this man and didn’t fold not ONCE and zaim graveled so hard and eventually changed for the woman he loved period !
her mom was WEIRD! jabar was WEIRD! and that other lil singing hoe was WEIRD! didn’t feel sorry for nan one of them in the end
This book was everything, I literally couldn't put it down. I love the fact at midpoint you could have ended it and I would loved it just the same but when it continued it brought the whole story full circle. Zaim and Davina's love story was GOALS!! Hopefully this story will continue because I'm hooked on all things Beatsville!!
OMG. This was the best read for me. It started off my Christmas Break. This relationship was really #relationshipgoals It was like ready a documentary about people’s relationships and how women lose their identity for their man. Honey!! This was the magic for me. Full circle love
This book was sooooooo good. Long and worth every word. All I know is this series is giving me LIFE. So many more stories that need to be told and I am here for it ALL. I need Davis and Cash story. Ok so Zaim and Davina took me on a rollercoaster but in the end they got it together and the growth in Zaim OMG.
I’m speechless Ms. Pynn done sucked me in again and I’m diving head first arms wide. The change in Zaim was everything and the love him and growth their relationship took was beautiful🥰. I am seeing all the love and joy they deserve and hoping they come out on the other side with their true reward.
I loved this story, I love how with everything they went through, they still managed to pull it together and fight for their love. I would have loved to see what happened to her crazy mama.
This book had me up until like 5:30 in the morning! When I tell you I couldn’t put it down until it was finished! It left me speechless! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next! Sensational
I am stunned can't wait to read what else this story might unfold. Loved the character development. I also love the way this story uncovered people's motive and what happens when you become bitter. Very well written. You threw me for a loop at the end but I'm on stand by.
