I thought I knew who my enemies were, and who I could trust.

I was so fucking wrong.

With vengeance burning like fire in my blood, I convinced myself it didn’t matter who I hurt as long as I made the Black Roses pay for my dad’s death.

But my father is alive.

And now Gavin wants me dead.

Trust is in short supply. A target has been painted on my back. My heart is a tangled mess. But I've never been one to roll over and give up, no matter how bleak things look.

The world has turned upside down, and if I'm going to survive in this dangerous new landscape, I’ll have to fight for it.

Even if I have to wreak havoc.

Dare I say...sex was always the same and placed at dumb times?? I will dare it. I realised this series had been completed and jumped in at book 3 thinking I'd read book 2. Turns out i maybe haven't finished it. Was pretty easy to grasp what I missed. Probs 3.5 proper rating

Mercy and the boys are back and holy crap, this book is HOT. Like without a doubt, not only does it include the hottest scene that Eva has ever written, but the amount of steam coming from these pages will light you on fire!

Tensions are super high between the Black Roses and the Jackals and things really come to a tipping point here. I cannot wait to see how things get wrapped up, especially after that brutal cliffhanger!

The action and the betrayal definately heats up in this instalment and we find out more about Mercy’s dad and uncle.

The guys come to a truce as Mercy gets pulled deeper into their world and has someone from the jackals been following her to know about Piper

This book just upped ifs hotness with the most steamiest scene ever written by Eva Ashwood.

I love how I got sucked into the story as if I was in this book and watching listening and witnessing it all with my own eyes and ears.

Eva has done it again and I cannot recommend this book and the others of this series enough.

It is a 5⭐️ recommended read.

⁺₊★·.´🎧✩°。 0:56 ──♡───── 3:32 ⁺₊🎧★·.·´

🎶 “Brown guilty eyes and little white lies. Yeah, I played dumb but I always knew” 🎶

Mercy (h) thought she knew who her enemies were and who she could trust, but she was wrong. Vengeance drove her to destroy anyone in her path, believing the Black Roses were to blame for her father’s death. Now he is alive, and Gavin wants her dead. With trust shattered and danger closing in, Mercy refuses to break.

—*•.¸♡ ★·.·☾ ゚。´THOUGHTS ゚☁︎。`·.·★ ♡¸.•*⋆—

Mercy confessed to the double-crossing. She messed up, and she knows it, but she also felt that Sloan left her no other choice after what she saw. Still, Rory and Levi did not shut her out or get angry at her for what she did. They understood because she loved her father that much. Instead, their frustration was directed toward Sloan for keeping something that big from them. They were more hurt that Mercy did not see them as trustworthy than by the betrayal itself.

[Sloan]

“You’ve fucked me in the head,” he mutters, and it sounds so bitter, dropping into the silence of the forest around us as he grinds each word out. “Goddamn you, Mercy. I’m fucked.”

He was supposed to get rid of her. He took her to the woods and should have been able to carry out the order his father gave him, but instead, he missed on purpose. He was angry at himself for feeling something for her. Sloan had to come up with an excuse to keep his father from ending her, knowing he could not live in a world where she did not exist. He does not even realize it, but the moment he brought her to them, all of them became inevitable. What bothers him most is how at ease she seems with Rory and Levi while remaining distant from him. Sloan does not want to share her because what he feels for her is all-consuming, yet he still wants her all the same. So he lashes out and stays silent because he has no idea how to process what he feels.

[Rory]

“You know,” Rory says finally, breaking the silence. “If anyone ever hurt Piper, I’d go nuts.”

“Yeah. When I lost my brother, I was so fucked up for a while that I did some messed up shit afterward. Grief is…” He shrugs. “It messes with your head. A lot.”

He is so understanding, and whether it is because he is a dad or because he truly sympathizes with her situation, Rory never held anything against her. He was unconditionally by her side because he cared for Mercy. He let her into his life, allowed her to be around his daughter, and appreciated her as both a role model and a woman to look up to. He had a deep respect for Mercy’s loyalty to family, and that connection meant everything to him.

[Levi]

“I want to know the truth, Mercy,” he murmurs. “Are you just playing us? Has this all been just an act?”

“It wasn’t,” I admit. “I really wished it could be, but it wasn’t.”

“One of you would do something to make me laugh or remind me that I was developing feelings for you, and it would send me spiraling,” I whisper. “I didn’t sleep much, tossing and turning and driving myself fucking nuts over all of it. Because I did care. I do care.”

He wanted to know if it was real. Levi is protective to his core and has always put Mercy’s needs first. My boy. He is so special because he was more hurt that she did not trust him enough to tell him what she saw than by her leaking information to the rival gang. Levi is loyal to Rory and Sloan, but he felt it was an immense disrespect for Sloan to keep secrets from him, especially when it came at Mercy’s expense.

This is definitely going on my list of comfort why-choose reads, even though there were layers of mistrust, betrayal, and constant back-and-forth. These people just needed to sit down and have an honest conversation about what they wanted from each other.

Maybe you can guess what I'm writing here first, because I've done it in my reviews for book 1 & 2 already...
This freaking cliffhanger 🤯 🤯 🤯 But remember, the series is already completely published, so you don't need to wait and just continue reading the next book 😁

This series has so much action in it. Lots of 🔫 and 🩸 😲 I would say that's typically for a dark romance book with gangs. Especially when there are two gangs that are huge rivals. There is no official vvar, but with the leadership change... Yeah, you know how it mostly goes down... 😖
And I love it 🤣 At least in books. I definitely don't want anything like that in real life!!!!

Yes, there is also 🌶️ action. And let me tell you, yes, they finally had an MFMM scene 🥵 All three guys are in a 1:1 already super 🔥 But all together, holy muther of smut 🫠 They definitely love to give 😍

I'm still team Rory, but Sloan is getting better by now. I'm not telling you what his problem is/was, but he's getting better, that have to be enough 😉

While you read this review, I've already read the final book, because as I said, this cliffhanger 🤯🤯🤯 It would ☠️ me otherwise.
This series is really good 🤩

Oh man, this series is the action packed, ansty type. It had me holding my breath, on the edge of my seat, so unpredictable.

The Black Roses and The Jackals are at it again. One side isn't playing by the rules.

Sloan, Levi, Rory and Mercy are working out their differences in this book. Trust, communication, connecting and understanding each other. Dare I say the L word?! This group has been dysfunctional, toxic and confusing to say the least. But they need each other. They're protective, loyal and let's talk about the steamy goodness. Omg, my kindle has melted, sooo good!

There's never a dull moment in this series. It pulls at every emotion. I'm obsessed! I'm desperate for book four! 😭😭

Omg i just want to scream noooooooooooooo at that ending!!!

Damn now Ill be on tenterhooks until the next book. Sigh flaming hell this book just killed it in so many ways. Gun fights, punch ups, dodgy family making appearances, murder attempts and two warring gangs that put Mercy & the guys (Sloan, Rory & Levi) right in the middle of it all. As well as them still trying to gain back the trust they lost in the last book. I cant praise this series up enough. Its so bloody good and a brilliant read too

I skipped about 50% of the book because I got bored with the innumerable amount of sex scenes.
I did like the actual plot of the story though.

So the story continues with Mercy attempting to make up for the mistakes she made in the previous book.

This addition stepped up the level of spice to a slightly uncomfortable level, you have to wait until about 50% to actually get back to any part of the story which doesn't completely surround Mercy & her relationships with the three men.

Throughout the first two books Mercy comes across as very strong & independent but in this one I felt as though that part of her personality was lost slightly in this one.

It is another fast paced book in the series, quick to read and will get you out of a reading slump. It isn't my favourite book of the series but it hasn't put me off finishing it and reading book 4 & the last part was intense!

Wow, just wow!! That ending had me yelling at my kindle.
This is yet another extremely well written book by this author. I love the detail, the real world just falls away and you are sucked into this book.
Mercy aka Hurricane and the guys Sloan, Levi and Rory - ok let’s just take a moment to acknowledge these hot men - yum!
Mercy and the guys dynamic changes in this book, they become closer and work together against the Jackals. There are a few hot AF sex scenes, fight scenes and new a addition to the Black Roses.
Overall a fantastic book that I honestly could not put down until the very last word.... will definitely be counting down the days until the next book is released - I NEED to know what happens next!

Well, I started this third book thinking it was the final book in this series. I was getting a little antsy when the percentage read was getting near 80 trying to figure out how everything was going to be pulled together, but man, was I ever happy to get to the end and have it not be finished yet. The ending of the previous book had me on the edge of my seat, so I was extremely excited to see how this book was going to go after that cliffhanger with Sloan. Let me tell you, that man really showed his true colors in this book. I love that we got to see different sides to him other than the cold, callous, exterior we are used to seeing. But what is great about him is that we know the kind of guy he is. He doesn't magically change himself for Mercy, but instead shows how deep his feelings will go if he allows them to develop and allows himself to acknowledge those feelings. Because when he feels, he *feels*. Sloan isn't the only one recognizing feelings in this book. As the secrets and the reality of their situation are made known, Mercy begins to allow herself to trust Sloan, Rory, and Levi in a way she has never trusted anyone before. Trusting someone is hard for her, but once that trust is there, all the other feelings start to fall into place, feelings that she knew of before but never really accepted. It was really nice to see the extent this group was willing to go for each other as well. New adversaries make things a bit more difficult in this book, throwing their plans more off kilter than they previously assumed they would be. What was once just a small fight for territory is now becoming a full on war aimed directly at the people this group loves. I cannot wait to see how they work together in the next book to get things back on track in their territories and either win the war or completely prevent it from happening. But after that ending, wow, it may be harder than it should be.

AHHH!
It's crazy how everything worked out. I'm mad though how none of the guys were there for her after that fight. In the car she passed out because she was so fucked up. They get home and don't help her inside, Sloan freaks out on her, then they don't help her up the steps. I thought at least one of them, if not all of them would dote on her, check her over, and make sure she was alright.
Eventually Levi does go upstairs and washes her and stays with her for the night. But I was mad at them anyway lol

But she got it pretty easy. It was super easy for them to find and get Alex, there were no issues. She did have issues with the Black Roses members being mad at her, especially Baldy (which I am mad Sloan didn't let the guys hurt him for that) but really, for what she did she got off easy. The guys forgave her like it was nothing. I know Sloan and Rory kinda understood how she was feeling and where she came from, but she did trick them too. Even if she had feelings for them and regretted going against them, she had still been using them. So I really expected more of a fight ... especially from Sloan too - but they all forgave her pretty quickly.

I was soooo happy when we finally got the 4some. It was hotttt. Exactly what they needed to bring them all together <3 I love it :D

Now that ending though, my heart is pounding! I know he's not going to die. He better not fucking die. This has been such a fast and easy read so far. Even though it's all from Mercy's point of view, I am still enjoying it. I really wish there were some of the guys point of views so we can get a bit of how they were feeling when all that shit went down. Especially when the recap in the beginning of Sloan shooting her - or trying to. I would've loved to have that come from him.

Everything that they lost, was her fault, and now he's been ordered to kill her.

Can she save herself, prove herself to him, to them or is time to give up and accept her fate...?

This is book three in the black Rose kisses series, following on from "Fight Dirty" and "Play Rough".

Whilst I loved the first two books in the series, this one didnt quite hold my attention in the same manner.

Sure there's lots of angst, drama, sauce and seduction, but I felt there was just a little something missing.

I feel like I lost a bit of my connection to the characters. I understand that the boys are part of a tough gang and thus hard hearted but I wanted a few tender moments and whilst there was the odd flash it wasnt quite enough for me. It lacked the romance aspect.

Rory is still the joker the softie, Levi is still the middle man and Sloan continues to be stony faced, but he does appear a little more humane and almost vulnerable a few times, which was nice to see.

Mercy continues to steal the show with her savage fighting skills, and protective nature. She's a ferocious lioness!

I'm giving this four stars because although the romance was a little lacking, there's plenty to feast your eyes upon, and keep you entertained.

Well damn

This world definitely pulls you in and captivates the living hell outta you.

I loved every second. All the twists and turns. The hurdles they jumped over. The secrets and truths. The sexy bits. All of it.

Amazing series and amazing characters.

All the ✨

Here’s my favorite quotes

“You’ve fucked me in the head,” he mutters, and it sounds so bitter, dropping into the silence of the forest around us as he grinds each word out. “Goddamn you, Mercy. I’m fucked.” ~Sloan

If only it was so easy to wash everything away. To cleanse my soul of all the shit it’s been through, to wring it out and start fresh with a clean fucking slate.
But of course it isn’t. Life doesn’t work that way.

“You know,” he murmurs, opening his eyes to look at me. “We’re all fucked up over you, too. Me and Rory, and Sloan most of all.” ~Levi

“You really think you can do that? Just share her like it’s no big deal? Then 🍆 her. Together. Right now. Since it’s no big fucking deal.” ~Sloan

But I’m starting to realize that although I may not need anyone at my side, there are three men I want there.

“The way I feel about you… it’s not something I know how to share. With anyone, not even the two men I love like brothers.” He shakes his head, his eyes burning like they’re lit from within. “Fucking hell. What I feel for you? It’s all-consuming.” ~Sloan

“He can’t always handle the strength of his feelings,” Levi continues. “And that’s why he gets so pissy sometimes. You must have noticed he’s not exactly a touchy-feely kind of guy.”
“I noticed,” I agree.

But right now, I’m not afraid at all. “I love you,” I tell him, voice pitched soft, like I’m spilling a secret that’s just for us. ~Mercy to Levi

“I protect what I care about too,” he murmurs. “Always. And I’ll fucking kill anyone who hurts you.” ~Sloan

“How the fuck did you know I’d like this so much?” he asks. “Watching you get🍆 by my friends like that?” ~Sloan

I freaking loved this! I love sloan, I really really do! What is it about emotionally cut of men, alpha holes and possessive grumpiness that just get my ovaries to go into overdrive??

“How the fuck did you know I’d like this so much?” he asks. “Watching you get fucked by my friends like that?”

Rory is so dam sweet, but I feel like if you ever pissed him off he would kill you without blinking! Levi always seems so sweet and calm…. Im wondering if he has another side at all? Sloan man do we get to see all of him in this book… and I love lover love him. What is about walking on egg shells around a male that just makes me melt!

“I protect what I care about too,” he murmurs. “Always. And I’ll fucking kill anyone who hurts you.”

Solid 3rd Installment. Anted Up the Danger. Tension Explosion. 🥵🌶😎🖤

Tropes:
~RH
~Bad Boys/G@ng
~Lethal/Sassy FMC

From the word go this 3rd installment picked up from the cliffhanger of 2 with all the tension and danger that Mercy has been getting into (specifically with Sloan). Their scenes, especially as they work through their feelings & clashing of similar personalities, was dynamite!

I looove that Mercy just keeps get more and more k!ck@ss as a FMC. She becomes lethal in this installment, especially with her fight with a Jackal. That scene was perfection and I love that she showed her men she could handle her business.

This book was also the one where everyone had to put their money where their mouth is and confirm feelings, as well as solidify the relationship as an RH and foursome. Up to this point really wasn't much sharing at the same time. It really has been a more realistic transition of an RH.

Completely ready for the last book and solidifying even more their relationships together. Also extremely ready for some more spice, specifically everyone together. She's had a lot of "fun" individual time between Levi, Rory, and even Sloan, but I'm ready for the grand finale.

It gets better

Okay, I'm still not a fan of Mercy quite yet but she's growing on me. She's now a member of the Black roses because she took a fight against her uncle who is now the leader of the jackals. The guys are mad but she knew she had to do this to get out of everything that is going on with her uncle since he put down the gauntlet. She's bringing the guys together as a unit because she loves all of them and only one out of the three is struggling with everything. As The story goes on Hugh who is Mercy's uncle and the leader of the jackals is now lying and going back on his word which is catching her group off guard. And as the story progresses you get to like Mercy a little more in my case that is but at the same time she just keeps repeating everything and it's just it's not good, and the fact that I like a good smutty book but sometimes there's just too much and I think this is where that falls in to place. it's too much and I understand because there's three men but still. Anyways if you like a whole lot of smutty scenes the series is definitely for you because it's nonstop. People they love are in series danger.

The third book in the Black Rose Kisses series has made me, once again, appreciate the amazing story telling ability of Ashwood.
No one writes gang/mafia romance quite like Ashwood can. After reading that insane cliffhanger for book 2, I was chomping at the bit to find out what happened to our main girl, Mercy.
The stakes are high with enemies everywhere waiting to take out the Black Roses and everyone they hold dear. I don’t know if Mercy and her guys will be able to come away unscathed from the upcoming gang war.
The tension during certain scenes really messed with me, making me feel very invested in Mercy and her guys story. Sloans character really shined during this book. I do know that I will be eagerly awaiting the next and final installment to this amazing series.
If you want a well written reverse harem romance filled with tough girls, alpha men, and tons of action (pew pew) I highly recommend this series! Very excited for the finale, I’ll be rooting for you Mercy!

Ahhhh Eva I don't know if I love you or hate you for sending me an ARC right now because these freaking cliffy endings you keep leaving me with are killing me!!!

God just when I thought I was getting over the cliffhanger of book 2 I was then reeling from all the stuff in this book.

First off this book is HOT!!! Like volcano hot!!! I was squealing at the fact Mercy and the guys were finally sorting their shit out and coming together but ooofff I was not ready for all the lust, just DAMN 🥵

Like I am obsessed with all of the stuff Eva writes but this was just some of her hottest stuff yet!!

Then the tension between the Black Roses and the Jackals truly comes to head in this book and I was devouring every word as fast as I could just so I could see what happens next.

I honestly was so wrapped up in the hotness that was that foursome that I did not expect the ending. Like why did you have to hurt me like that!!! I am absolutely dying for the final book now!!!

Honestly, Eva is soon becoming the next queen of crazy cliffhangers… wow, what another great book!! What I’m really becoming to love is that nothing is honestly expected in this book and being around the same age as Mercy has allowed me a greater insight into her emotions and her mental thought processes because I’ll be honest, I would have definitely reacted the same way. This book is so amazing because the bada** heroine is becoming stronger and stronger throughout this book and her guys were portrayed so well. There is never a dull moment with this girl and the fine line of trust and betrayal is blurred so many times that it honestly keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are so many scenes that hot and steamy but when combined with the emotional rollercoaster that nothing and nobody is left totally unscathed, but the development is so important. So excited for the next great book by Eva Ashwood.

This book moved so quickly I was done before I wanted it to be, it was so good. I leapt off the cliff Eva and am totally hooked to get to book #4, so don't leave me hanging too long. I clutched my kindle at the very end, saying nooooo silently but in my head it was really really loud.
Mercy, Sloan, Rory and Levi met every challenge handed to them. It wasn't smooth sailing for sure but oh boy was it HOT AF when the 4 of them made breakfast one morning. It was STEAMY when Mercy, Rory and Levi worked out some differences and it was every bit of thigh clinching when Mercy had one on one time with each.
Uncle Hugh didn't know what hit him (literally) when he paired Hector against Mercy. Gavin had no clue either, that she could hold her own. Was this the end of the tangle between the Jackals and the Black Roses? I think Uncle Hugh just went a bit too far at the very end. Mercy is coming for you, dude.

Y’all this series was amazing! It’s a Mafia reverse harem and it’s one I’m definitely keeping in my collection.

Mercy is our FMC and she is everything you want in a female character. She’s strong, brave, sexy, and gives these guys a run for their money. Her dad double crossed the Black Rose gang and until he can make it right they’re keeping her as collateral. Of course it doesn’t stay that way.

Our MMCs are Sloan, Levi and Rory. Once again, as in all of Ashwood’s books, these men are just the right amount of possessive, sexy, funny and all the other things. Sloan is the heir to the Black Roses so he has this intensity that is undeniable. Levi is laidback and sweet. Rory is the flirt of the group but he’s got that possessive quality too that just 🥵. I couldn’t pick a favorite as I read how they each fell in love with Mercy.

The twists in this series were fantastic and always kept me guessing. I seriously recommend reading this one.

Continuing on again after book two left us on another cliffhanger. Now, we see Mercy realizing she messed up so badly, and is attempting to fix those wrongs she made. The guys are quick to forgive I think, but this just umped the danger.

You will definitely see a large amount of voice in this one. Honestly, probably half the book - if not more lol. Not saying it isn’t hot.. because it is. Just sort of strayed away from the plot more often than not.

I’m conflicted on Mercy. On one hand, I love her strength, drive & determination. But on the other hand she can come off as toxic, and maybe a little naive. But I guess, with the lifestyle they all live, toxic may be a part of the dynamic lol. The guys are still amazing. Sloan is finally opening up more - and now there is more looking danger. It’s not just the jackals they have to worry about. Someone may even be kidnapped and learn a truth that was never even considered.

One more book to go!

WTH???!!!!!!!!!!! I must be all about torture to keep reading with these dang cliffhangers, but OMG they are so good and so worth it! I have a serious love/hate relationship with them lol.

This book picks up right where book 2 left off (so if you know, you know). It immediately gets into the good stuff and starts going at a fairly fast paced with everything, but it never rushed or hurried. Just the perfect amount to keep you in the edge of your seat and wanting more. Rory is the 🥰❤️ for me. His personality is just that the fun one and the nurturer. Levi is still the one who isn’t afraid to show how he feels and Sloan is the angry one who is too scared to show how he feels. Mercy is the sun that they all circle. I believe she is now the tie that binds then even more.

Ummm, I’m now counting down the days until book 4 😫😫😫😫. Need more!

Black Roses at War 🥀

Dang it. Rory so far is my favorite. Always lightening up the mood and being the playful and sexy one. That cliffhanger suckssssss. It’s about time Sloan finally got on board. That whole love u and then angry with u thing was getting to be a bit much. I feel like Levi kinda got pushed aside in this book.
I understand the story had to be made more but I felt like their was a lot of “a few weeks later” or just time that passed that didn’t really need to. This wasn’t my favorite one, but the ending was great. Had me on the edge of my seat totally ready. Can’t wait for book 4!

*Overall 3.5/5
*Heat 5/5 (need more like the last one of the book)
*First person POV (just Mercy, although I think it would be nice to have the guys perspective every once in awhile)
*HEA? Major cliffhanger.
