Wow... in this new book in the "Elves of Christmas" universe the author not only spins a wonderful love story but does a huge amount of world-building as well. Silver and Dasher's story is beautifully written and paced and I enjoyed it immensly. I can't waitto see what Ms. Rathbone does next with this fascinating world shehas created!

If you're looking for something sweet and fun with a bit of alien Santa and ABO'verse reindeer shifters, then this might be the perfect book for you!

Silver is a new elf who has an important job of looking after Santa's reindeer - yes, the reindeer that fly his sleigh around on Christmas Eve. Silver is proud of his job, and he especially feels a strong connection to Dasher. To his shock one night, Dasher sudden transforms into a human - an elf, like himself, and now the two must figure out what's going on while keeping things under wraps.

This was a very unique take on Santa! It actually involves aliens. And I really loved that this was such a different type of holiday story. We get a bit of history and world building in how they came to be where they are, and what led up to what's going on with Dasher.

I thought that overall it was a very sweet story; even a little bit sad with everyone's backstory. I did feel like in a couple of places the "rules" for this sci-fi/shifter/holiday world were a bit unfinished? It just felt like some things were left up to no explanation or no rules. What I loved most was the alpha/omega discussion and some fun sexytimes between Silver and Dasher.

I'd definitely love to see more of this world, heck - we have 7 other reindeer to go, right?

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I think out of all of Rathbone’s books that I’ve read this was the lightest, which worked so well for a Christmas read. I really enjoyed all the unique twists to classic Christmas characters and tales, and thought Silver and Dasher were wonderful characters and loved how they both just wanted to take care of the other no matter what. If you’re shying away from this book because of mpreg, I wouldn’t as it gets no on page time and no babies are born during the book lol. Another Christmas success for 2020!

This was fun and I liked the unique spin on Santa and his reindeer.
The writing is super poetic and flowery. It reads like a fairytale and a couple days until Christmas I'm here for it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm not getting around to even mark my books as read.
What a end to this "interesting" year.

Well, about the story. Yes! I liked it, I enjoyed it.
The reindeer shifter thing was sweet
and something else.

I would love to read the other reindeer's stories as well.
And hopefully by then Santa's magic would have
found a cure to my problem. Hence the spoiler.
Don't go reading it if you haven't read it!

To keep it short and sweet, I wanted things to conclude in a different way than it did.
But then again, that's my own problem and I 'll deal with it.
I'm not sorry I read it it was sweet and something else.

Interesting. Light but with some emotion. Dasher was a sweetheart as was Silver. It was interetsting twist on shifters. It ended kind of abruptly and I wanted to see what happened to Dasher and Silver, especially after having been given a lot of information about the past, but also knowing that things could change. Without knowing if there will be more stories to come, it felt a bit unfinished to me. It could also have used an editing pass, as there was some repetition and odd phrasing here and there. It was my first read by this author and if there were a follow-up to come I'd definitely read it.

ARC provided by GRR in exchange for an honest review. This book was a very sweet read. It was a refreshing alpha/omega shifter story about a sweet reindeer, Dasher, who is looking for his one true love, mate. He finds him in Silver. Silver is so sweet and precious especially to all the reindeer, but Dasher stole his heart before he even knew it. Wonderful Christmas shifter read with very sweet characters. Would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a Christmas book in the omegaverse.

A Joyfully Jay review.

This is a shifter fantasy novel and I was hoping it would be a fun, cute book, but I didn’t find that here. Silver is new to Santa’s Village and loves his time in the stables. He’s fond of all the reindeer, but has a soft spot for Dasher. Silver is 40, but since elves age slower, he looks about 25. He has lived a quiet life and has little experience with relationships and comes across as sheltered and simple. Dasher is hundreds of years old and, given he has lived his life as a reindeer, I would expect for him to come across as more innocent, but the combination of the two of them was a little too much naïveté for me.

Dasher has no idea what is happening to him when he shifts into an elf and doesn’t want Silver to alert anyone, especially Santa. For the first half of the book, Silver continues to go work like nothing is wrong, Dasher hides in Silver’s cabin, and Silver and Dasher start to process their attraction to each other. It was a long time for so little to be happening with the story.

This book didn't work for me as much as I'd hoped, I think was expecting something else so it wasn't the right fit for me.

While I loved the first half with all the introductions to the world and the story of the elves. Along with mc Silver who is rather fun and Dasher is adorable, I liked mention of their fondness for each other before the change and figuring out as they go. Rather instant love, but fitting to the story and mates aspect so I didn't mind.

However sadly while the history of the elves, santa and reindeers was interesting. The more I learned of the alpha/omega, reindeer shifts and mpreg the less I enjoyed. Just wasn't keen on how mates formed and the fact not really shifters so much as magic to an extent, considering how the shifting works was disappointing for me.

The journal entries were lovely! Dasher and Silver are cute together. Santa and the reindeers origins are fascinating. The setting is wonderful and perfect christmas feels, with all of the snow.

Overall its an easy read, full of festive cheer and a unique concept. I enjoyed for a quick read and ending is satisfying. Just a case of not for me really, but I'm sure many will love for the reasons I didn't 💕

It wasn't what I expected. Blame it on me and not reading the blurb, but when I read shifter I expect them to shift, more than once. It's a new world created on the myth of a North Pole village, home to Santa, his elves and his reindeer. But they aren't from Earth but refugees from another world. While the idea isn't bad, it just really didn't fill me with Christmas cheer, but with a sense of loss that made me feel sorry for Santa and those who made it away in time. Then it turns out I am reading an Alpha/Omega scenario and some mpreg as well. That just didn't sit well with me, again my bad if I didn't read the intro properly, and the reindeer. The whole reasoning why elf Silver and Dasher turned Ever are together is that they are the one to each other and are able to have an elf baby that turns into a reindeer when it reaches the age of two. In the beginning Silver denies his attraction to Dasher and it drove me mad that he doubted everything so much. By the time he and Dasher are finally getting it on I started skimming the sex scenes. The dialogue is slightly cringe worthy, but weirdly parts of it have their moment. It could have been so much more but it just wasn't it for me.

This was an interesting concept and while it was executed fine it just was not really for me. Silver is drawn to Dasher and when he transform will do anything to keep him safe. It was very much insta-love and attraction of fated mates but I hated all the secrecy and unknowns. Santa put Silver into a situation that he knew nothing about and then just kinda hoped it was all going to work out, it did but even his explanations were vague.

Reindeer shifters. That's what this book is about: Reindeer freaking shifters, and I really REALLY enjoyed it!

Silver is looking after Santa's reindeer and Dasher is his main charge. Dasher is acting off, and Silver has to take care of him. When Dasher disappears and a naked elf is there instead, Silver knows something pretty special has happened. But Dasher can't change back, and Christmas is jusy a week away.

I love being surprised when reading, and reindeer shifters is a totally new one on me. Through in the way these guys shift, and their back AND forward story, and you have a very good book on your hands!

One thing, though, just ONE small (but really maybe massive in the grand scheme of things) change would have made this a 5 star read.

Only Silver has a say. And given what happens to Dasher here, and that back/forward story, I really thing had Dasher been given a voice, this would have been a 5 star read, I really do!

I can't really go too deeply into what I mean by the forward story, cos that would be spoilers, and I really don't do spoilers (or rather I work hard to NOT do spoilers!) but trust me, a totally unexpected thing happens to these reindeer, and I want to say how hard it must be to come up with new twists to shifter lore. But Ms Rathbone pulls this one off beautifully!

It's set around some world that appears in another book, The Elves of Christmas, but it's not necessary to read that before this. I didn't and I did not feel I missed anything.

So, ONLY because Silver has a voice but Dasher doesn't . . . .

4 delightful stars

I adore Wendy Rathbone's books so I was excited and happy to hear that she would releasing a holiday reindeer shifter story! I love reindeer shifters and can't get enough of them. Dasher is one of Santa's famous reindeers who leads his sleigh each year on Christmas. Unfortunately, this year, he has a problem and none of the elves know how to help him. Silver is a new elf in Santa's village and is on Dasher duty to make sure that he is okay and isn't sick. Each day, he goes in to feed all the reindeers but Dasher is his favorite. He always sneaks him extra sweets and treats.

Silver thinks Dasher is in a ''rut'' but his boss thinks not since those only occur in the summer. When a shivering naked elf appears in Dasher's place, Silver's life changes for the better. Silver and Dasher's adoration and rapport together was sweet and sexy. I enjoyed the world building and the idea that the elves and Santa (who is a magical elf) escaped from a different Earth and set up their village on this Earth. Dasher's past was really sad but he found his HEA with Silver. I really hope that the author will expand this omegaverse. There's just so much potential left in the ending and I need more reindeer shifters! Loved this story and what a great holiday read :)

"Santa's Reindeer Shifters" is a charming Christmas romance with more than a touch of mystery and magic to it. Newish stable elf Silver feels inextricably tethered to Dasher, his favorite of Santa's magic reindeer and to whom he's committed unwavering loyalty to care for and protect - all the more so after Dasher's surprising and mysterious shift to elf form. The two quickly grow close while keeping Dasher's shift a secret as they try to find answers, and the mystery reveal is satisfying just as Silver and Dasher's HEA is candy cane sweet.

I've never read a shifter or omegaverse story quite like this and it completely captured my imagination. Set in Santa's Village at the North Pole, the amount of detailed world-building is impressive and I was immediately enveloped in this magical alternate reality. The origin story of Santa and the elves is especially interesting, and Santa definitely deserves his own book! I received an advance reading copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Awww, what a sweet, easy Holiday read. It's a shifter mpreg story done just a little bit differently. I really liked it. I hope there are more stories in this universe because the author did an amazing job with world building and characters.

Whoops! Stupid me, there is another book in this universe called The Elves of Christmas I read it a few years ago and enjoyed it too. I think I read too many books... if that's even possible. :P

● Holiday/Christmas
● Paranormal/magic
● Reindeer shifter/ mpreg
● A Christmas Elf/Reindeer shifter pairing
● Super sweet
● Togged at my heart strings
● Loved this world
● Loved the MCs... Silver & Dasher
● Maybe a bit heavy on the sex but not really explicit
● Wish there was more (only because I didn't want to give them up)
● Very satisfying ending

Dasher, Dasher2, or Ever?

This is an outstanding book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! All of the details are superbly imaginative and wonderfully described. The characters are well-developed and the imagery is richly painted. Everything seems plausible. I could easily envision the scenes. I can't say enough about this book!

Recently hired to work at Santa's magical North Pole village, elf Silver is tasked with caring for Santa's reindeer and stables. It is an honorable and important job.

Dasher is seemingly taken ill and while everyone is assured that he is fine, Silver is to only tend to him. Dasher mysteriously shifts into an elf and begs Silver for his help. Being new, Silver is at a loss at what to do.

I highly recommend this Christmas tale; it is worthy of your time!

Dasher has a problem and no one knows what is wrong. Christmas is fast approaching and he has to be at his best to lead Santa's sleigh. Silver, a new elf in Santa's village is put in charge of watching Dasher to make sure he is ok and isn't sick. Silver thinks he is in a ''rut'' but his boss thinks not. a shivering naked elf appears in Dasher's place and that begins a story that neither think they will find a solution too. Santa might know, but Dasher doesn't want Santa to know because he is afraid he won't be allowed to lead the sleigh for Christmas. This is a magical, sexy, cute, sometimes sad book that is well written, no errors and well edited. It was great reading it. I would highly recommend this magical story as right now we all need a little magic in our lives.

Silver and Dasher had such an adorable mated pair.

Initially, Silver could not believe what he was right in front of him, but did not take long to accept Dasher for who he was. Silver also questioned why he was chosen to care for Santa's special reindeer.

Turns out, Santa knew far more than he let on. It was a matter of the fated mates having enough trust to talk to Santa.
Learning about Dasher's past was heartbreaking but shed a much better light on the series of events leading up to his encounters with Silver.

Despite being a seasonal read, there may be room for more books in the series. I'd hate for the story to end there.

Another mpreg story to enjoy!

This was an unusual Christmas story. I love a good holiday story at any time of the year. Silver the elf feels a special kinship with the reindeer who pull Santa’s sleigh. He takes especially good care of Dasher, who is his favorite. But what happens when his favorite reindeer starts to act like he is sick and then disappears from the stables? This is a cute little story about finding that special someone who makes you complete, even if it isn’t quite the way you expect it to turn out. This author has a history of writing alpha/omega mpreg stories that are a bit different from the norm and this Christmas story doesn’t stray from that. It’s a good book and a quick read.

Something strange happening to Dasher

Silver is an elf who cares for Santa's reindeer. His favorite reindeer, Dasher, has not been feeling well. Santa ordered Silver to watch over Dasher.

Then the unthinkable happens, Dasher disappears and a strange elf is on his place. Where is Dasher? Who is this elf ?

This is a cute first time shifter story. Dasher doesn't know what's happening. He doesn't want Santa to know. Silver has to hide it from everyone.

And Silver has an attraction to Dasher the elf.. that he is fighting.

Such a cute, steamy story. I loved the story, the characters, and its Christmas!

3.5 weirdly interesting stars, also much sweeter and lighter than expected.

So I'll just come out and say it. Never have I ever read a book where Santa and aliens are connected. Weird, also kind of interesting. His vague and mostly unhelpful advice didn't really work for me, but the rest of how things worked out ...well, worked out. I wasn't exactly sure what to feel in the first third of the book, but once it got rolling there was sweet, steam, and just enough sad in the back stories to grant depth to an otherwise shallow (in a perfectly nice and tolerable way) story that's heavy on the sexy times and the insta-love aspects of fated pairings.

Santa's Reindeer Shifters was a fun, Christmas read.

Poor Dasher is feeling out of sorts and Silver has been tasked with keeping an eye on him.
When a naked elf appears in Dasher's stable, Silver is left bewildered.
Dasher wants to lead Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve, but to do that, he needs to figure out how to shift back to his animal form.

Santa's Reindeer Shifters is an enjoyable story. It was magical, fun and sexy.
If you looking on a different take on a Christmas story, I would recommend Wendy Rathbone's Santa's Reindeer Shifters.

And I loved the explanation about Santa’s presence in our world. Santa was amazing, I love him.

This was a great Christmas story! Silver is an elf assigned to take care of Dasher. Dasher has not been feeling well. He thinks that Dasher is in his rut. One night he shifts into an elf. Silver agrees to hide Dasher at his home. This was a very unique take on the whole Santa, his elves and reindeer. It was really good. I loved the world author built! Omg. This is sooooo sweet. Almost as sweet as the amount of cookies and deserts the elves eat.
At this point I wanna be an elf!

Back to my review,
Im so glad that Silver took Santas words to heart at his interview and abided by his promise to Santa. Meaning he had the chance to fall in love with Ever.

I loved the comparison part between Ever and Archon. Though I dont think Silver could act like Able did. I believe he would encourage a future relationship between Santa and Ever.

The idea that the reindeer could have fated mates is adorable.

A sweet festive story best enjoyed with a cup of delicious hot chocolate.

Dasha and Silver were adorable together. Silver was loyal and protective and the care/attention he showed Dasha warmed my heart.

There was one particular moment where my eyes welled up. The love and emotion that poured off the pages of the journal - made my heart physically ache.

Cute Christmas Story

A very sweet Christmas shifter story between a new elf in Santa’s village and Santa’s trusted reindeer Dasher. What could have been a rather stupid story was instead told with self assured realism, cute MCs, and the perfect Santa. This story had me wanting to turn the page through the whole book and I recommend it for anyone wanting to get a shifter, A/B/O, and a Christmas story.
