This first book of a new, to me, series really is a great continuation from the Cryptid Assassin series.

It led so smoothly from it, that I didn't have to pause for a second, to work out what was going on and, as usual with ANY Michael Anderle book I read, there really was a LOT going on!

I'm not giving away any details though, because I really hate having that done to me.

But I can tell you that Dash, the AI who helps McFadden and Banks in their work, is one of the coolest AI's that I've read about in recent years - and I've spent most of my life coming across these particular ideas, especially nowadays, as specialists get closer to the ideal AI! Lol

I think one of the many things that drew me the most, to this series, is the relationship between all of the characters.

They are, all of them, so full of all the good and bad things that make us acknowledge our own humanity, while trying to stay within Societal bound, but also with all the frailties, that our lifetime experiences bring about in our psyches!

But each of them, in their own ways, have to acknowledge, and cope with, what this has done to them, for their good, or no - and I really love the adult way in which they they deal with it all!

I also love their shared humour, as it reminds me so much of my own family as I was growing up.

Ever since I discovered Michael's work, I've read so many of his books, with even more of them to come, as I never seem to be able to catch up with them - but that's probably because he writes in both his actual name, and in his many, and varied, Pen Names!

But, the one thing that they ALL have in common, whatever the genre, or pen name written under, is the wonderful characters, the multi-leveled, often laberynthine, plotlines, and the absolutely realistic fighting scenes.

Over the last couple of years, I've got in the habit of always reading the author's notes that Michael, and his co-authors, write after each story, and it's been such a pleasure to see the development of Michael's writing skills - with relationships, in particular.

He mentions, quite a lot, about the way he tries his hardest to make any development, especially in the romance department, to be as realistic as possible, and he often states how writing about this can be uncomfortable for him.

But, I have to say that, over the 2+ years I've been reading his books, I've really enjoyed those scenes, as they really are very realistic - though, thankfully, they're not in-your-face crude, which I very much appreciate!

Overall, though, they've had me both belly-laughing at the humourous misunderstandings that two people can so easily have, or in floods of tears, when reading something that's written so tenderly, that it's really touched my heart.

All this to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the first book of this wonderful new series, and will be going on to book two: 'Diplomatic Immunity', as soon as I've finished writing this review.

That's if I haven't managed to download the revised ebook from the new DUO story, by Jenn Mitchell, that I started before this one, but had to stop, due to downloading difficulties, that is! Lol

So, I'll catch you on the flip side, of whichever of these two books are read next, and I'll let you know what I think of it!

*Awful Writing and a Pitifully Bad Plot - Bailed at 17%*

“An Assassin’s Accord” is awfully written, with spastic, repetitive dialogue that reads as drivel from angst ridden teenagers rather than supposed hardened adult characters.

The plot what was revealed before these reader bailed at 17% after a visit to the protagonists’ CPA, and subsequent dialogue on their love lives, was shallow, immature, and hopelessly disjointed.

New Series, Old Characters, Same Thrills

So the characters have evolved, and we now have a new series arc with quite a few upgrades in the business consultancy.
The action remains the same , but the involvement gets better with more of the same universe and it helps a lot as feeling fresh with similar stories works so hands off to the talented Mr Anderle and keep up the good work.

Not my cup of tea

I had a hard time getting into this book and the prolific and gratuitous foul language throughout was both unnecessary and offputting. I worked in DOD and the intelligence community so i am used to occasional crude talk, but this was overboard and unnecessary, and detracted from whatever the story line was. I don't usually stop reading a book part way in, but this one I did. Sorry.

At the start of the book, I thought I was reading a business management course for dummies. Because, well that’s what the main characters were talking about, you know, business stuff. And the alien creatures roaming around certain countries, as a backdrop. There was a bit of a detective theme going on, stealing some data from a high security facility, and then right at the end some action. So a slow start, a slow-ish middle and somewhat of an exciting end.

Great boook

Michael does it again. I can tell I'm going to be hooked again just like with BA and the KG universe. It takes a bit to wrap your head around the first chapter but after that it's a great quick read. I say quick because once you're in you won't quit till done. As always thanks for what you do. It helps keep me sane LOL

Super fun series so far, love the zoo!

This is a super fun series so far and I like how desk is getting more rounded out. I like how Vickie is also being in more of the action, and the leading pair also kicked butt. Tons of fun action, really fun universe. I recommend this book and series.

MCFADDEN AND BANKS, THE BEGINNING

Ok, Taylor and Nikki are characters that grow on you. Vicky and Desk are connected in doing part of the job when Taylor and Nikki got a new job out of the US of A.

Like the new additions and the story is interesting. Mechs, Techs, Killers and Beer... what's not to like?

McFadden and Banks

I love the development of these characters, especially Vickie as she seems to be turning into the psychotic assassin her cousin is. Her work with the AI is truly amazing as the AI seems to have a personality of its own. Kinda creepy but cool. I expect nothing less from Anderle!

Although this book was different from others, Still it was the sort of book that I found difficult to put it down. I already have the next book with the same characters, and probably some new ones. Great read thank you Michael.

Another great action filled story

We discover more about what the characters are capable of in this book. The series is still keeping my interest and coming up with even crazier alien hybrid creatures.

Actions packed excitement!

This was a great read. There were so many plot lines,so many strong characters. Language could have been a little cleaner. Great adult reading. It will keep you awake at night.

Flat out fun!!

Absent the alien intrusion that may be the first phase of terraforming, this is a near future I can get behind. There is nothing I like better than kick ass heroes, smart and deadly women and a friendly, helpful AI.

Yet another fantastic story from the mind of Michael Anderle. Just the right combination of snarky humor and violence. Brilliant characters all around.

Tay-Tay and Banks have started a second company. Banks is no longer with the DOD but she and Taylor will contract with them and others.
