The Protector
Review 3/35/2021

I loved this advanced partial copy that I received from Stormi Lewis.

Her writing style is easy to read and flows. This book is keeping me in suspense. We are following our protagonist Sophie on her adventure to get her memory back. It is full of action and it keeps you guessing as what is going to happen next.

Spoilers ahead

Sophie, James, Tina, and Ben are trying to find out information on the person who is after Sophie. Sophie is glad to be with people. She remembers she has been alone most of her life running from the Man with the Cane. We find out in the beginning the birth name of the Man with the cane, and how his mother was worried after he killed the dog. He goes on to say he changed his name to leave the life behind. Clarice is still not able to catch up with Sophie and the man with the cane is coming down hard on her. We learn that he is her father and also Sophie’s Grandfather this is why he wants her. Jess was the oldest and Clarice is next. Clarice tries to make her father happy, but he only wants Jess. Unfortunately Clarice killed Jess and Jack tracking them down. The man with the cane wanted Sophie after that happened but a family friend came and got her.

Ben wants to find out the “treatment” Sophie received when she was younger. He is close to finding out I am sure.

Tina is finding out who is chasing Sophie. They did something really awesome in the book to get data they needed. (It was quick thinking on Tina’s part). Computer hackers fascinate me on how they can get any information the set out to find.

James is along to help Sophie because he loves her. Their relationship is getting stronger every day. I am excited to see where it goes.

When one mans obsession turns into something scary. He is an evil man that uses people for what he wants. He doesn’t love anyone and has killed to get what he wants. I like a quote from the book “Sophie couldn’t stand bullies. They always thought they were better than everyone else. She understood that most bullies were usually bullied somewhere else in their own life, or simply weren’t taught to be decent human beings.” This quote really stood out to me. I have been bullied all my life. Even now when I am completely grown I still run into ignorant people that make rude comments about my very noticeable difference between what the norm is supposed to be. She took it upon herself to put bullies in their place and help the person being harassed. When someone stands up to someone else they are brave in my opinion.

I cannot wait to finish the book when it finally comes out! It will be featured on my book club read when it is published .

Book Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sophie Lee returns in this thrilling trilogy by Stormi Lewis. Sophie has her team again made up of James, Ben and Tina to aid her through her precarious and often horrifying experiences. Can she escape from the evil Algos also known as “the man with the cane” who has been relentlessly trying to capture her and would he go to any lengths to do so? She is frightened for her friends since she could be the cause of their demise by Algos’ evil assassin’s.

Sophie continues to be on the run but this time she will find out things about herself that can not be easily explained away. Sophie has always been a loner but now she has both the living and the dead protecting her. Who is this maniacal assassin Clarice? Why would she do anything to destroy Sophie?

So many questions and Sophie will come to learn that she is “The Protector” and that she has the power to save the world. What a scary realization and what will she do with that knowledge?

Stormi Lewis does not disappoint in the second of her trilogy. This thriller is filled with twists and turns and romance. You most definitely will want to read The Key which is the first in this wondrous trilogy. I highly recommend this book and give this a 5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another fast paced fun read with all the feels by Stormi Lewis. "The Protector", book two of the trilogy pours on the excitement, romance, and mystery. If you love a good cliff-hanger this book will leave you searching for the release date for book three.

I’m so mad that I didn’t read this series sooner!!! This sequel to The Key is even better! With every new twist and turn that Sophie’s life takes it has me more and more addicted to find out what happens!

It is one of those few books i felt hooked from the very first page. It's a nice blend of emotion and action. The intriguing plot-line kept me turning the pages. I hate reading ebooks with more than 300 pages, but this book was an exception. It was really a smooth read. Simple short phrases made the experience even more smoother.
The book is written amazingly but i think the ending lack a sense of closure. I know it is part of a series, and the ending is supposed to be a cliffhanger, but still the ending lacked something. Otherwise the book was good, i would surely recommend it.

I loved loved loved this book. I could not put it down. The action in this story carries you away with it. Sophie is a character that you fall in love with right away and keep on rooting for her to win. I love how the relationship between Sophie and James continues to grow as they try to figure out who the man with the cane is. Ben and Tina are also a great couple and I love how they help Sophie I loved the Anne of Green Gable reference as I loved this TV show growing up. I enjoyed learning a new word - oneironaut. The ending of this second book is going to make it impossible to wait for the third book. I can't wait to read the next book.

We finally get a little background story on the man with the cane, Clarice and Sophie’s parents in this one!! As I learn more, I’m finding her character more relatable and my distaste for the man with the cane has grown stronger.

After this cliffhanger, I can’t wait for book 3!!!

I really enjoyed this instalment of the Sophie Lee trilogy!
It’s very fast paced with a lot of action from the very start to the very end! In some places I felt it was a little too rushed but overall it’s a great book.
The character development is good as well as the story line. Love is very strong through out this book. Not just romantically but the love a parent has for their children and the love in a friendship.
I don’t want to spoil the book so the only thing I will say is the ending has me hanging for part 3!

So... that happened... I honestly don't know if I can write a good review without spoiling anything. There are so many revelations in this book. So many times that I was screaming at the book (cough cough, author) because of things that happened which were so much something that I did not see coming. It's a great sequel to The Key. 100% recommend reading this series, it's fun, it's wild, and it's amazing!

Audio Book Review

Freya and Stormi have done it again, still a mix of Dollhouse, Dark Angel and Black Mirror. I am adoring the series. This second installment is everything I could’ve wanted it answers questions that I had and of course gave me more. The action is fast paced and doesn’t take away from the story the romance and interpersonal relationships feel real, they feel like they could be happening. I am so excited for the third installment Freya Victoria is the perfect Sophie Lee.

I really enjoyed this book. The author gives us a better look at the main characters that we are invested in from book one, the Key. Now, we better understand what drives them and motivates them to work together to help Sophie find out why the man with the cane is after her.
The book is fast paced and leaves you longing for the next installment of the trilogy. Will Sophie find the answers before the man with the cane finds her? Characters are dying to know!

Omg that ending ...like really woman ?? You're killing me !!

We follow Sophie as she finds out more about her gifts and her family, more background on her family and friends which is good.
You will find yourself cheering Sophie on like you're right there beside her.

Also the man with the cane gets explained more, I have grown to hate him even more than I originally had lol..

Omg I need the next book now ...I'd highly recommend you grab this series asap 😁

Wow! So many answers to what's happening but just leaving more questions. How does the veil between worlds work? How much more can she actually do? Do all 4 get caught for their chosen ways? It's already tearing them apart.
