Niyah is a young bombshell. Sexy and knowing what she’s worth, she’s happy to be with her boyfriend of six months and believes that he’s the one for her. But she refuses to accept bullshit and when she finds out he’s been unfaithful, she leaves him alone without a second thought. Niyah knows she’s worth more than being someone’s second option. She enjoyed being taken but being single again hits different and Niyah is enjoying her newfound freedom. But one’s man “taken for granted” is another man’s “goddamn, where she been at all this time?” And when she least expects it, she meets handsome Kane. Though she’s finding it hard to trust again, is Kane the knight in shining armor she’s been awaiting, after kissing too many frogs?
2.5 rounded up. Definitely a quick read and I think the author has a lot of potential. Niyah definitely knows what she wants and has no problem going for it, which I liked, but it also felt like there wasn’t really any substance to the love interest. Yes it’s a quick novella, but other than his looks and skills in the bedroom, I didn’t really see the appeal of Kane. That combined with the grammatical/spelling errors and the fact that it felt like it ended on a weird/abrupt note, makes it a decent read that could’ve given more.
Niyah is feeling unsatisfied and unappreciated in her relationship, so learning her boyfriend has been cheating for months makes it easierfor her to leave. Needing a night out on the town , with a budding attraction to her nephew’s basketball coach leads to new possibilities. To start, this author doesn’t shy away from sexy scenes. Niyah and Kane bring the heat baby. You can tell from their first encounter, they were super attracted to one another. When the opportunity presents itself, they don't hesitate to act on that attraction. My favorite part of this story is Niyah recognizing and owning her worth. She doesn't hesitate to leave when she learns of her boyfriend’s infidelity. This storyline was quick, engaging, spicy and came with loads of potential. However, grammatical errors took away from the flow of the story. Also, the ending was anticlimactic and premature. This is my second read from this author and both times I felt the author did a great job with building a great story but ended it abruptly leaving me with a “ is that it?” feeling. Besides that, I still thought this story was decent but it needed more.
Even though the story was short, it was very good. I loved it. Those two belonged together. Great read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
📚Book Review📚Niyah & Kane provided just the right amount of spicy in this lunchtime 🥗 read. I enjoy the music 🎵 references that Franny J provides throughout this read because it lets me know that this is taking place present day and it also puts me up on new music. This is a spicy 🌶 read so if that is your thing check this one out. I will say that there a few errors in this read which took away from the story for me. Ms. J did leave me wanting more from these two. 4 Stars ✨ #currentlyreading 📖 #blackauthors #blackerotica #urbanfiction

The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read!. A fantastic short spicy book that has it all! I highly recommend Franny books and I can't wait for more like this
Niyah was in a relationship she wasn't feeling that much, so when she found out he was cheating, that was her way out. Kane was a youth basketball coach and after one look at Niyah he was smitten. After seeing each other in a bar, they enjoyed a night together getting to know each other more. Feelings changed and a new relationship was on the horizon for Niyah and Kane. This was a short and cute introduction to a new love that both Niyah and Kane didn't see coming!!
This book was short and sweet. Bitsy reminded me of myself. A no nonsense type of chick. I liked her. But Kane did it for me. He threw on his cape and got straight to it.
