He had lost it all. His world. But Fate wasn't through with him yet.
After the implosion of Harvest Fellowship, Rhychard is feeling lost without Renny. Luckily for him, the faerie world has calmed down some and he's been able to get back to a normal routine. That is, until Lore Master Taryen's apprentice shows up at his moving truck wanting to write down the history of his life. Calm is thrown out the window as Rhychard starts suffering from visions of fire that leave real burns on his body, gets visited by a dark elf that says he wants to help him stay alive, and now Rhychard is seeing…ghosts? So much for his normal routine.
I live in sunny Florida where I spend my days taxiing the family to various places while jotting down the many crazy thoughts inside my head. I enjoy a freelance career writing for several magazines sharing some of my interesting viewpoints on life and those around me. I can usually be found on my back porch watching the squirrels chittering at the birds while enjoying a cigar, a scotch, and the many characters that talk to me inside my head.
Another one of Author Cox's books that drags you deep into war with evil. Everyone comes out to play in this book and you find yourself engulfed in the flames and not sure you want to get out.
You want to discover if once again evil will fail. Good always prevails, but at what cost. You will find yourself laughing once in awhile, even though this isn't the type of book. The stress of everything going on around you tells you that it is needed.
You will also find yourself yelling at the author for something that he did that makes you cry. (You hear me Robbie, I am mad at you for that). But we make new friends and cry about old ones.
This is the second book in the Warrior of the Way series. I became a Robbie Cox fan after the first book, Reaping the Harvest. Cox has a way of combining a large cast of characters into a working ensemble and for a new fantasy author this is daunting work. He managed it with seeming ease and kept all the characters interesting.
In this book we find our reluctant warrior Rhychard, still grieving, but life begins to return to some sense of normal. Normal? HAH. No spoilers from me but there will be the unseelie, and visions, and suddenly he has new powers! What's up with that? Ah, keep reading because there are surprises to come.
This is not what I expected and that's good. Cox has found a way to take an old genre and make it fresh and unique. The dialogue is engaging and, while he juggles even more new characters, he does so with a smoothness usually found in much more experienced fantasy authors. Cox proved with Lore Master, that he is a master in his own right.
I'm fully engaged in this series and I the ending was NOT what I expected. Second volumes often do not live up to the hype and fall short of keeping the reader fully engaged. This book is even better than the first of the series. Time for book #3, Mr. Cox. Don't keep us waiting too long.

The Lore Master by Robbie Cox is the second book in the Warrior of the Way series and continues soon after “Reaping the Harvest” ends. This continued story line immediately draws you in and drags you deep into the war with evil. This series could be classified as a dark drama as you will find yourself laughing at some of the situations and horrified at others.
Rhychard Bartlett is still a reluctant and bitter warrior. It's been a month since he destroyed the demon Vargas and he is still deeply grieving the loss of Renny. All he has left of her and their love is the engagement ring he had intended to give her that last night.
Now, Rhychard is having visions of fire that leaves burns on his body and he's seeing ghosts, and to top it off, one of the Unseelie is warning him of danger. Rhychard is still discovering himself and the powers that he and his sword can do, but he's still woefully ignorant of the full powers that he'll need to survive the battles to come.
You'll want to discover if once again Good can prevail over Evil, and at what cost.
This reluctant hero and his companions get five stars for this new twist on Good vs. Evil. The ending does leave the door open for the next sequel without leaving the reader on a cliffhanger.

Robbie has continued his Warrior of the Way series brilliantly! The internal struggle Rhychard Bartlett faces after being chosen the Guardian is expertly depicted throughout this book. Rhychard's struggle in keeping his secret from his family and friends (and most importantly the woman he loves), is an easily identifiable situation that many people find themselves in within their lives. The continued story line is intriguing and draws you in from the first chapter all the way to the end of the book. I look forward to the 3rd installment of this series and applaud Robbie's writing prowess in this genre.
Second book in the series, you can really see how Robbie Cox just gets better. I enjoyed the first book in the Warrior of the Way series, but this one is even better. The characters are evolving and you just want to keep reading to see how. I'm looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend this book, as well as this fine author and the many genres that he writes in.
This book has more twists than a silly straw! I loved the characters, all of them! Rhychard is still discovering hisself and the powers that he and his sword can produce. So many characters are introduced, so many different powers from the under land and humans alike. Mr Cox writing draws you in and won’t let you go! You will laugh, cry, and be absolutely mesmerized until the end!
Lore Master by Robbie Cox.is book 2 in this series. I read book one and that was very enjoyable as was this one. Rhychard is having visions of fire that are leaving burns on his body and he's seeing ghosts. What else could happen?

This is an awesome story. Poor Rychard. He really does get himself into some interesting positions and all he wants to do is enjoy his drink and a good cigar :) I don't want to give away any spoilers, so let me just say this, Mr. Cox creates a story that will keep you interested from the very beginning. I liked that he wasn't as conventional as some hero-quest-fight type books. Rychard is creating his own rules and I LOVED the ending. It made me happy.
Rhychard was trying to get on with his life after loosing Renny. Rhychard went to find his brother to keep a promise to his mom. Only to find Karl's roommate dead. Now what is his brother into. As Rhychard tries to figure everything out he finds new powers with the sword . This is a wonderful story I can't wait to read the next one
