Steven James Pemberton is an English actor, comedian and writer, best known as a member of The League of Gentlemen with Reece Shearsmith, Mark Gatiss, and Jeremy Dyson. Pemberton and Shearsmith also co-wrote and appeared in the sitcom Psychoville and the comedy-drama Inside No. 9. His other television credits include Doctor Who, Benidorm, Blackpool, Shameless, Whitechapel, Happy Valley and Mapp and Lucia.

I really enjoyed this book of scripts from the first series of Inside No 9. It was interesting to read the authors’ thoughts in the foreword and good fun spotting little changes that had been made to the episodes. I laughed aloud several times.

I do think that you need to have already seen the episodes to get the best out of this book; it was much funnier because I could see each episode unfolding in my mind as I read, rather than having to imagine a finished piece of work.

Definitely one to pick up if you’re a fan of the series!
