I've read some of Jamila's books and been like, damn that is hot (turning the page, turning the page). And I've read some of Jamila's books and thought, what in the name of sweet baby jeebus (I'm specifically thinking of the book where the h was sleeping with 4 other guys and each has huge penises. That girl wouldn't be able to walk for the amount of sex she supposedly had with them big dicks). Anyway, I digress, I wanted to like this book. I was thinking it would be a quick dirty read, nope. The build up on this one took forever and was silly in its delivery (college girl laments still having her virginity, considers herself a looser and struggles earning money to send home and pay for college). I can get past the book being poorly written but I was put off by how unlikable the H and the h really were. Oh yeah and please just delete the portion of the book where dude is so rich he has this huge mansion that allows for different themed rooms, later in the book he's so good in bed he makes her scream and you can hear said scream throughout the halls?!?! I mean if the place is that big (i'm assuming also furnished) who would hear her poor ass all the way in the bedroom. It's just stupid writing. F
Steamy? Yes. Dominant and Submissive action? Yes. A bit cringe with the main character’s shyness and living up to the mediocre “typical depot a virgin?” Yes. Listen folks, the author is great. Jamila you rock, but this book nearly hit rock bottom with the weak repetitiveness of the sex scenes and the overly cliche of what virgins are like. And the too quick resolve Alice had with her losing her virginity then finding out she’s pregnant to her mom “miraculously” being off drugs. Like really! 👀 but I digress. I also almost wanted the author to do research and ask 100 recently deflowered virgins how their first times were to get a more realistic depiction. Yes, I know this is fiction, but art, even in its written form should have some form of relatable elements in story, right? Those parts tanked the book. I also wasn’t very keen on the male lead character, Blaine. His name reminded me of “Pretty in Pink”— “Blaine is not a name! It’s the name of an appliance. Are you kidding me?! (Ducky)” Lol Anyhoo, Blaine was a prick and dirty old sexy one at that. Plus we never really find out if Blaine is really his name. Lastly, bc I want to keep this review short, the ending sucked! All this build up to possible drama with His Royal Sexy Prick and his family trying to stop Alice and Blaine from being together to end up with “Oh they eloped and just went to his palace.” Wtf?! That right there made me feel that the author got lazy and was like, “Yeah I’m done now.” Lol HEA? Yes, but it’s weak AF. It’s literally like an ending they have in fairytales, “And they lived happily ever after. The End.” Pfft! Ok.
First of all Alice was so extremely immature and naive, to have grown up the way she did. Her mother was an addict, what kind it never specified. Who was awful, she had to dodge many of her mothers special friends most of her life, you would think that would have given her a few lessons in life. She was easily lead and to darn trusting! However, I did like Blaine, just not with her. I think the book could have been better if the female was way different then the one presented.
1.25 Stars. (BW/WM). Kindle Edition e-book. 20 year age gap. Billionaire/Royal. I could not get into this story namely because the heroine, Alice, is an addlepated nincompoop. Being a 20-year-old virgin does not diminish ones ability to mature socially, emotionally or intellectually. The hero, is a billionaire waiting to ascend to his country's throne as king. He also portrays his inconsiderate controlling "ass-hole-ry" as a sexual dominance. This author is a hit or miss and this story is a major miss, for me.
1.5 STARS Wow for a self proclaimed genius this woman was stupid AF, her mothers a crack hoe hooker and she's walking around like 'little bo peep' this book was way out of the realms of reality it might as well been in an alternate dimension, and Jamila using Grace Kellys death as a plot device - not cool- As for Blaine he came off as am immature weirdo. Alice dumb as she was should have taken the cash and walked, popped into a chemist got a PLAN B, so much for her genius brain.
2 1/2 Stars..... As the blurb says"Alice needs money. Blaine needs company. It’s a match made in algorithm heaven." Alice needs money to pay for her education so she finds a "Sugar Daddy" online. Up till now, I thought OK, read it before, but this author is news to me, let's see how she develops this story. For me, it was a challenge to even complete this book. Neither Blaine, a reclusive, damaged billionaire craves an African American virgin and really talks about this a lot. He was not sympathetic as a character and rather creepy. Alice, a struggling college student, intent on pulling herself out of poverty through education, she strikes me a so wishy washy. She allows him to manipulate her all the time. I wasn't a fan of either character which in turn tainted the entire book. Not for me!!

“Purchased for Pleasure” is one of those books for me. In this BWWM romance with a touch of mystery, we have Blaine and Alice. He, the older man, a strong Alpha, with a need to Dominate, Billionaire with lots of secrets. She, the young woman, smart, scrappy, college student, an awakening submissive, yearning to push aside her past for a brighter future. As Blaine said, they both are broken. Alice didn’t like that, but because Ms Jasper’s writing talents, I could feel their brokenness and wanted desperately for them to take the leap to their HEA. Boy, did they!

Jamila Jasper is a new to me author and I love that she writes BWWM romances. This story is steamy and entertaining. While the story line was interesting I didn't like how often the author pointed out that it was a BWWM couple or that Blaine was a billionaire. Otherwise I did find the story enjoyable and look forward to reading more by this author.

This was an entertaining story. It was different but fun to read. Alice is a pretty strong and mostly confident woman. I am glad that she managed to turn Blaine's heart around. Their chemistry together is white hot explosively steamy hot. This was a very entertaining story though the ending was a bit anticlimactic for me.

Overall this book was another good one from Jamila Jasper. I definitely enjoyed the elusiveness of Blaine and the fact that it didn’t take him forever and a day to start submitting to his real feelings for Allison. Glad their romance bloomed fast and wasn’t bombarded with too much drama. Lastly, I could have used with more of ending that what Jamila originally came up with, but again this book was still a nice read.
The main characters are from two different social classes and they both have their own personal issues and hang-ups. The plot and the characters easily drew me into this book, and I enjoyed reading how the characters helped each other to grow and deal with their pasts. This is only the second book I’ve had the pleasure of reading from this author and it’s another really good read.

This was actually a very nice and enjoyable read. There were some places that could of been more and others less. But all in all, this was a nice book.

Worried whether she would be able to continue at University due to financial troubles. Her friend, Queen, convinces her to advertise on a sex escort website. Little did she know she would encounter, Blaine, a forty year old Prince who eventually falls head over heels in love with her! 🦋
WOW this is a awesome story with amazing and exciting characters.Their romance is intriguing with sizzling hot passion it's fascinating with lots of emotions and drama. There is plenty of suspense and the chemistry burns up the sheets. This is definitely great entertainment.
I've only read 1 book by this writer that was decent. But there were grammatical errors that threw the plot off. I've found this in her other stories. In so far as steamy scenes, the lead up was so drawn out that I lost interest. They seemed to be copy and pasted from her other books. I've given this writer many chances because the plotlines are great but the writing....mediocre.
I didn’t much care for Alice because she was all over the place; she was one big contradiction, although it could be chalked up to immaturity on Alice’s part. Blaine was also different. The storyline was so unbelievable, but the imagination has no boundaries. I like a good romance, but this was too far-fetched.
Another great book by Miss Jasper. I am glad that Alice got her happily after without a lot on unnecessary drama. She came from not so good home but was smart enough to stay focused and do what she needed to do to succeed. It didn’t hurt that she got herself a prince while she lost her “v card”
Ooooh boy! Spicy! This book was super good. It had me hot and cold, just like Blaine! At first I was thinking this was going to be a boring story, but it quickly picked up the pace, and the story became good. The detailed descriptions I could picture Goldie, Liam, Blaine, and Alice. If you need some spicy in your life or pep in your step, this book will do it.
Know what to expect but, It was a great intriguing read somewhat dark but yet mysterious more so. The characters were well developed together as a couple... But, more family background would have been nice... Hope to get another story about Blaine and Alice and the tangled web they have weaved soon
The story got so long and tiresome only because the writer was spinning one sentence into 20 shades of the same thing. At some point I thought I was going crazy reading the same thing over and over again only being written or explained in a different kind of writing shade.
Loved this book. I've read almost all of her book came across the author on tic Tok. She makes you want to keep reading g as the pop up when your done with one right after the other.
Jamila Jasper did it again! I really loved this age-gap novel. I'm a huge fan of JJ and anything she pens is good for me. How these two people changed each other was awesome.
Kind of odd storyline! Alice and Blaine had a Shades of Grey vibe but it was never explained why Liam would always appear and disappear when Blaine appeared 🤨🤨
OMG!!! I loved this book it had me from start to finish. I’m so glad things turned out great loved loved it! What’s next can hardly wait, Jamila you are the bomb!
I love happy endings and Cinderella stories and was happy that Blaine and Alice found true love and happiness! Please keep these stories coming, Ms. Jasper!
