Nymphs & Trojans #3

On The Rebound

Rate this book
"I'm not patient with a lot of things. But for you? I'll wait a lifetime."

With his entire career ahead of him as the starting point guard for the Tennessee Trojans, Kage Steele is feeling on top of his game. He's got the talent, he's getting the attention, and most importantly, he's raking in more than enough money to have the entire world at his fingertips. But after a Summer spent enjoying the fruits of his labor, basketball isn't the only thing on his mind coming into his second season since he can't seem to forget about the gorgeous sports reporter he shared a moment with back in Sin City.

Bleu Taylor is living out her childhood dreams. As the offspring of a radio personality and a professional football player, using her voice to talk sports was practically what she was born to do. But naturally, that also means coming into contact with a lot of athletes, including the slightly younger, sinfully sexy point guard out of Nashville who she'd tried to forget about after breaking her own rule of not fraternizing with active players.

From the moment they locked eyes, Kage knew Bleu was something special. From the moment they kissed, Bleu knew Kage was a problem. But when they both find themselves on separate downward spirals regarding their lives and careers, the ability to rebound from those individual events becomes a lot easier once they finally decide to stop relying on self and instead choose to turn to each other.

🥰

I am a sucker for an athlete & journalist falling for one another. Per usual, the goat did her thing with Kage & Bleu’s story. I loved their chemistry & banter. Loved all of the sports talk and actual games happening on page. Ugh so good!! This book gave me all the feels; the way Kage manifested this relationship with Bleu was so stinking cute. 💙🫶🏾

Rebounding for real love

Kage and Bleu are My favorite of this series so far!

I knew Kage was going to be lit, since he was lit as a sub character. He definitely didn't disappoint. Kage is now in his second season in the NBA and he has two major goals, win a championship and win Bleu's heart. She left a big impression on him and he really wants to see where the chemistry they shared could go. Bleu is that girl. Smart, ambitious, focused, with a natural talent to bring out the best in the stars she interviews. When she first encounters Kage there is a vibe, but she is happily taken....So she thinks.
As Bleu's personal and professional life take hits, Kage is right there to help her rebound from the drama. They build a solid friendship, situationship if you will. When Kage's career is paused, Bleu is there to help him rebound from his pity party with her strong belief in him. I know this sounds real sweet, but just know so much was going on and I appreciated the way everything was approached. The slow sweet way their love unfolded was just everything.

Sub character call outs. I loved Kat, she was wild and a clutch friend. She stayed with the jokes and it was cool to see her not so serious. I would love for her to have her own book. Coach Joe and Ms. J, team too much, were like surrogate parents to Kage and I loved that for him and I loved the way they embraced Bleu. The audacity of Todd, like how he gone reach out when he wants to and definitely not timely...gone with that bull. Also it wasn't lost on me that that situation mirrored Terrence Js situation.

Literally the sweetest love!

Bleu and Kage’s love was so sweet like omg! They started out with Bleu dodging his advances but you know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas 😆🤭. Bleu knew she wanted that man and when her bf Troy fumbled her & Kage swooped in not only trying to be her man but also just being a friend to her. I hate that Bleu tried to deny what she was feeling for Kage. Bleu had to go through the emotions of letting go of her ex situation and getting her job. I’m glad Kage didn’t let that fling with Kawasaki go anywhere! Coach Joe and Ms J were hilarious and I loved them! The epilogue was so cute!! If you’re looking for an easy love and read and of course sports scenes that feel real deal, then this is the book for you!

On the Rebound (Nymphs and Trojans #3) by Alexandra Warren is about NBA player Kage Steele and sports reporter Bleu Taylor. Initially meeting Kage, you think he’s cute and funny but a bit immature. But this book exposes all the layers to him! From him coaching a senior women’s basketball team and having a mother-son relationship with their star Ms. J. To his relationship with high school coach (Coach Joe) that became his guardian. Kage is a sweetheart and so endearing. The loneliness of being a foster child, being on the road as an NBA player and teammates with families of their own. Bleu is a dynamic character, I really like her. She’s passionate about her craft and she’s damn good at it despite being an attractive in a male dominated field. Because of her job she’s refuses to give Kage the time of day but their chemistry is undeniable and when they decide to be friends it’s only a matter of time before the attraction takes over. Friendship, Situationship or Relationship their texts filled with flirtatious banter😍 They aren’t perfect and neither is their friendship/relationship but damn if it ain’t worth it! I liked that this book reflects what happened this year without it overshadowing everything else, it’s a great balance. It also gives us an idea of how players and other people in the sports world must have been feeling. It was great to see Kage’s budding relationship with Coach Dre. We got a whole season of basketball in one book, this was everything! An excellent addition to the series!
P.s. Kage is such a good gift giver and he has A.S.D (love that for Bleu).

Once again we get to experience a differ ent side to Basketball, not only playing on the field but also from the side of reporting live from the sidelines, the ins and outs of both worlds & this one was very intense even during the games I was anxious like when I actually watc the sport so that was a great angle or take. I love Kage's character from jump, I think he is very refreshing no matter how many things he does that should be considered annoying but he's very cocky in a self assured way so he was definitely my cup of tea from get go. Also another aspect I never thought I'd enjoy which is the younger guy in relations with an older woman but this was done in a tasteful manner also I'm biased because I'm invested in this series and I'm a big fan of both authors.

This was definitely an amazing read. I’m signed up to be a forever fan of Kage Steele(porn name and all...lol) I loved his growth in this book compared to his immaturity in the last book... I loved his relentless pursuit of Bleu. Even though Bleu knew she really couldn’t resist Kage handsome face and boyish charms from the get go. I loved that they loved on each other also while uplifting each other when it came to their careers. Alex never fails to deliver amazing written masterpieces she has definitely garnered five stars for this book and I look forward to reading what’s next

So Good

Alexandra Warren writes some of the best sports romances. She has an ability to put just the right amount of attention on the sport and the love affair between her herione and hero. Kage and Blue had a rocky road getting to their HEA but I so enjoyed their story. She was determined to avoid him he was determined to have her. She had a boyfriend he was younger than her but in the wake of true love all obstacles were put behind them and their love indeed Rebounded to the finally.

I’m so happy Kage got a book. I loved him in the last one and was looking forward to learning more about him and loved it.

He’s still that crazy goof ball and bleu was perfect for him. She couldn’t resist the charm. Kay and and Ms, J was two other characters. They both had me laughing often.

Now to read the next book in the series. I hope Alexandra and Nicole has at least one more set of books

🤷🏽‍♀️

It was a quick read, I personally hated reading about Covid because living through it was traumatic enough, I don’t want to read about it in a fictional world. What I’m finding in a lot of books is that there aren’t any real climaxes or conflicts which means there nothing to resolve. I think there was opportunity for a more complex story line. I anticipated more complexity around the being together The title didn’t match the storyline for me.

Kage & Bleu

i ABSOLUTELY loved Kage’s personality it made the book more funny. I also loved how there were plenty of opportunities for messy drama to occur & instead of the author letting it play out the author kind of ignored it. The transition & real depiction of how COVID effected people no matter there occupation was a nice touch as well. overall I loved this book

I knew I would love Kage’s installment in this series, but I didn’t know I’d love him and Bleu so much. Everything about this book had me blushing, fanning myself and giggling. I really turned into a whole fan girl with this one.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but I feel like Ms. Warren has outdone herself here. Kage and Bleu are such a great couple together, and that's because they're interesting, awesome, and functional people on their own. They complement each other so well and I found their relationship so charming, it was difficult to take. Why would they just be so supportive and thoughtful and geniune like that? Ugh! Even their friends, many of whom we know from previous books, are cool and seem realistic. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it didn't have 200 more pages (kidding but like...not entirely).

I'm highkey still super terrified of this pandemic and totally understood why some characters would feel that way, too. This is the first book I've read that has dealt with COVID-19 in any real way and it was so well done that I didn't get trauma flashbacks. I highly recommend this book (as well as the entire series PLUS Ms. Warren's back catalog). Just do it!

Kage and Bleu are my new faves!!!

Kage Steele has set his sights on many women, but after seeing Bleu Taylor and sharing a kiss, he can't get her out his mind. Running into Bleu numerous times, Kage will shoot his shot until she finally gave in. After hooking up, they both couldn't get each other out of their minds, but when Kage was advised to dont place all his eggs in one basket, this caused a little distance between him and Bleu. When Kage needed Bleu she was their and they talked an decided to make it official. Keeping them a secret, Kage and Bleu ended up being quarantined together and that sealed them as a couple.
Man I love this book. Kage finally got the girl and I was happy to see it was someone that can handle him. I loved how Kage was with Bleu and how she was with Kage. The time they spent with each other and Ms. J was so beautiful. Kage and Bleu story have became my favorite!!!

Bounce back

In life, love and basketball a rebound is important. After an opportunity is taken and you don’t get the desired results, you have to bounce back.

Bleu was a woman who was dedicated to her career. She was passionate about sports as well as reporting about it and the players. She took pride in it, she did all that she could to maintain her respect and professionalism.

Kage was a young baller coming off his rookie season filled with many off court antics. He was looking to make all star status this season but had a lot to prove.

A private encounter backed by an nda has left the both of them with memories - one wants to explore and the other wants to bury. Both of them have a moment they needed to bounce back, when, how and who helps you to do that is important.
Their chemistry and flirting was off the charts! I loved how they had each others backs in every way.

Great read!

I loved this book. This author never disappoints. Since my first read of her Attractions and Distractions series years ago I've been hooked and have read the entire catalogue. I highly recommend this author as she provides great love stories that are so relatable and endearing. This book kept me smiling throughout seeing the relationship progress with Bleu and Kage. He knew what he wanted from the beginning and even at his young age he wasn't afraid to go and work for it. To see them stan and support each other and encourage each other was so beautiful to read. I also love that this book took place over a long period of time instead of being rushed like in a novella and it gave me everything I needed out of it.

A 10!!!!!

I love Bleu and Kage, they’re my favorite of this series. Ms.Warren does not disappoint at all. I like that Bleu’s character was a so well rounded, including the relationship with her parents. Love her and Kay’s friendship.
Didn’t like age difference between Bleu and Kage...just me,although Kage was very mature, they both were. Ms. J and Coach J are a trip.
Ms.Warren’s break down of the NBA “bubble “ was superb! Her knowledge of the sport lets me think that she had a tenure in the sport. The Trojans run reminds me of my hometown Miami Heat, only they went all the way to the finals if not for injuries to two of their key players, they would’ve won the championship!
Great read for the mature young adult and older.
This deserved 10 stars.

Kage is grown. I never thought he'd get hos book bit the character has matured so much since the previous rookie yr misbehavior and I actually loved that Dre decided to throw him a helping hand when he needed it the most and drowning in bad advice and acting out in the previous book because their relationship is so good now.
Enter Bleu, to be honest, I knew where she coming from and the fact that she gave Kage a rin for his money for ages but then when it came to really gping there, they chose friendship first before dating, it set the tone and bar so well for them.

This story is just, *sigh*. I loved. Real. Real time, and just so well written. The growth is so beautiful to experience.

Kage Steele is Bae ❤❤

Listen!! this book was well written. Alex definitely didn't disappoint baby. I loved how the focus was equally balanced between struggles basketball sector faced during pandemic as well as the personal lives of the players. As a rookie Kage was determined to achieve all goals and prove everybody wrong. He was relentless in his chase when it came to Bleu, It was almost impossible for her not to give in. They were exactly what each other needed. True love comes when you ain't looking ❤❤.

This was my first read, featuring anything about COVID. With that addition, plus the POV of the impact on sports- this story was more relatable. And quite interesting to read about something we are still experiencing and yet it felt so long ago. Reading about how the world reacted and reactions to quarantining.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I can tell the other characters (Dre and Selena; Nico and his lady) must have their own stories. Maybe I will read more from the series. So far Kage and Bleu were a great introduction.

out of the whole series so far i think i was on the fence the most about this one. i wasn’t really feeling kage last book but of course quickly into this one i did a 180 😭 i felt like bleu! she was fighting that boy hard and still fell for him. it ended up being so cute! my only issue was when i realized what year it was in the story and i realized what was coming i was so triggereddddd. pandemic in the story was def on my absolutely not list but it ended up not even being that bad and didn’t take up that much of the story.

Another One (DJ Khaled voice)

Another one in the win column from a queen in this sports romance game! This story was super cute and hit home for me as a woman working in professional sports. I was rooting for this couple and was so happy when they got their shit together. And was way too geeked by some of the appearances we saw from past Alex characters throughout the story. Already anticipating the next gem Alex drops for us.

Kage and Bleu was everything....It wasn't too much and I like the play on current events. All in Next

I loved the relationship between Bleu and her man. She was leveled headed, balanced and cautious, smart yet mature. She kept her friends close and knew her craft. Kage was the one I saw coming and was happy he was persistent and appealing, winning Bleu's heart in the end. A lighthearted read I would recommend to romantic minded friends. It kept my interest without far fetched outlandish drama.

Impressed

This one may be my favorite book of the series so far. A lot of times the later books in a series are disappointing because they don't keep the same energy and tend to have a rushed storyline and abrupt ending. This one had both energy and feeling throughout so kudos to Alexandra Warren because I'm starting the next in the series and it's 3 AM so I should've BEEN sleep long ago.

Bleu & Kage's story was really good. I liked how they built a friendship and it blossomed into a really cute relationship. Kage's jokes about Selena and the baby landed every single time he told them to Dre! I also liked how the story touched on the NBA bubble and the COVID madness that hit the sports industry. Overall, this story was a good addition to the series.

Fun Read

While I enjoyed the previous books in this series a bit more, this is still a solid book. The two main characters are so likable. I instantly connected to both of them. Seeing Kage mature has been a nice part of this series. The chemistry between Bleu and Kage is so good. Their intimacy is goals!
