Nora and Carson were high school sweethearts until Carson left town to pursue his medical career leaving Nora in their small hometown. Now he is back and he wants a second chance.

Not safe. Hero and heroine were not celibate during separation so this might bother some readers. It was a cute novella but nothing special.

Second Chance Sweetheart de
Charity Ferrell Serie
Sweetheart Colorado 8

Argumento:

Nora me encantó.

Short and sweet. Nora and Carson are high school sweethearts that break up and don’t talk for years. Carson is back though and wants nothing more to get back into Nora’s ice, cold heart.

I thought this was a lighthearted and easy read. It was definitely one that I needed after some of the heavy books I’ve been reading lately. Nora and Carson were adorable and I’m glad they found a way back to each other.

If you’re a Hallmark fan, this is definitely the book for you!

Nora owns a Bed and Breakfast and her newest visitor just so happens to be the ex that broke her heart years prior, Carson, who is there for his fathers wedding.

They were high school sweethearts and thought they would be the statistic and stay together forever, however things didn’t work out that way and when their relationship ended they were both heartbroken. Even after years apart there is still a ton of chemistry between them. While there was still some bitterness there was still love deep down in both of them.

If you’re looking for a quick, sweet, second chance romance set in a small town this is one to check out!

For a short story this was pretty good. I enjoyed it.

Carson and Nora were high school sweethearts. Then they ended up with a bad breakup because Nora didn’t want to move away from Sweetheart, Colorado and Carson wanted to further his career and stay in Chicago for an internship. He ended up getting drunk and saying a bunch of mean shit to her when she refused to move to be with him.

8 years later and Carson came back home for his Dad’s wedding and Nora is running the bed and breakfast where his Dad’s wedding will be held. She’s pissed that she has to be around Carson... at first of course.

They both weren’t able to move on because nobody else compared to each other - first loves and all. Carson is trying to win her back and thinking of possibly returning home to run his Dad’s medical practice if Nora will give them another chance.

Can you guess what happens next? 😏

Still, it was a cute story. Not much OW drama, at least the kind that pisses me off. Just another random girl trying to get the attention of Carson but he wasn’t having it whatsoever. That’s all good with me.

As teenagers Nora and Carson fell in love and were planning a future together until their lives took them in different directions. Nora was left with a broken heart not only because their relationship ended but the way it ended.

Years later Carson is a doctor in Chicago while Nora manages the family’s Bed & Breakfast in their hometown. His father’s wedding brings him back to town but will the possibility of a second chance with Nora be enough for him to stay?

Fun and flirty I enjoyed seeing Carson and Nora find their way back to each other.

A sweet, quick, second chance read! Second chance romances are hard for me to read just because I’m not super forgiving. This one was different though, I felt like he didn’t do something that was unforgivable. They both just grew up & went there separate ways, granted harsh words were said. Still these two rekindled their flame & you could tell they loved each other even after years apart.

Second Chance Sweetheart is a sweet and sexy second chance romance set in the picturesque town of Sweetheart Colorado. Nora and Carson were crazy in love. High school sweethearts who were convinced that they would be together forever. Things didn’t workout the way they planned and their breakup was devastating to them of both. Fast forward eight years and they are thrown back together. A love like theirs could never die and their close proximity brings them sexily back together. Second Chance Sweetheart is a read in one sitting romance and gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy.

“How many stars should I give this place?”
I raise both my middle fingers
“How about two stars?” 😂

Loved this second chance romance 😍 my only complaint is I wish it was longer, I read this in a couple of hours. It was funny, sweet & sexy.

Sometimes your first love does make their way back to you, you both just had some growing up to do.

So I won't lie, I love Charity Ferrell but this cover definitely stopped me from reading this book at first. I'm a complete cover judger. I'm sad I waited because while the cover isn't a typical for Ferrell the story is.

Nora and Carson were high school sweethearts. They thought they'd be together forever in their bubble and nothing would break them. But something did. and that something was Carson. Now Carson is back and staying at the bed and breakfast Nora owns. This is no accident. Her family has always owned it. While the excuse of his father's wedding is the perfect reason to come back to Sweetheart, he's there for one reason, to get Nora back.

That first real heartbreak we feel, stays with us. And for Nora the pain has never gone away. She is not at all impressed to see Carson standing in front of her. And let me tell you when she cooked him a dinner with what he was allergic to I laughed out loud. That is absolutely something I would consider doing. (I wouldn't actually do it but consider it hard).

The more time Nora and Carson spend together, the harder it is to fight what they have. Their chemistry and attraction didn't fizzle out with years of space. It may have even gotten stronger.

While I was hesitant to read this book, Ferrell certainly did not disappoint. This is a great, small town. second chance. sweet romance. She adds just the right amount of everything and gives us relatable, loveable characters.

Second Chance Sweetheart gives us a look into the relationship of Nora and Carson. High School sweethearts that broke up because Carson took an opportunity for medical school that he couldn’t pass up. Nora wanted to stay in their hometown so that she could take over the family B&B. These two never fell out of love with each other. They always had that connection. Carson has avoided coming home because of Nora, and comes home because his dad is getting remarried. I loved that these two, while there was a mountain of hurt between them because of the way things ended they were grown-up and realistic about everything. You could feel their pain, and the fact that neither one of them truly wanted to break-up. They were capable of doing long distance, but there was an unwillingness from both sides to try that. Which ended up in both saying/doing things that they wished they could change. Carson see that while he needed to take the opportunity he was given, he has hidden away in Chicago for longer than is truly necessary. This isn’t full of the usual angst of Charity Ferrell. It is quick sweet novella that focuses on the couple and only the couple. Sure you have those moments of life that they have to deal with, but it was couple heavy. It was a sweet (steam) quick read and a nice addition to the Sweetheart, Colorado collaboration.

Not safe

First, I dislike this book. He claims to have loved her but yet did everything he could to avoid seeing her when he came back. He didn't come back for her . He came bk for a wedding. This book is not safe. It's sad they slept around. If they truly loved each other, he would hv came bk for her. She would have reached out . N they most deff not sleep with others. They must not have loved each other like true loves do. My opinion, tho. I didn't care for Carson. He was cocky n nora deserve better ... he chose everything over her. It's so sad ... and I will say Nora was weak to me. She forgave him easily for everything. The hurtful words he said to her n she just let's it go. I dislike books like this. If you truly love someone, you don't sleep around. Sry my review is harsh it's just my opinion, tho. I knew I wouldn't like this book, but I took a chance to change my mind. I'm just not a big fan of couples who sleep around n are ok with it while saying they ateceach others true love..... when he says he is clean n she says the she he says that's music to my ears . The female, his one true love, just told u she was clean from being intimate in the past and ypu say that's music to my ears . Lol... this was my first book fro. This author is to see how the writing would be . I'm not a fan .

Second Chance Sweetheart is a great read. This is one a short quick read. Nora and Carson were high school sweethearts. They thought they were in it for the long-haul but then choices were made and things were said and they split. Nora is a sweet girl. She is running the family bed and breakfast. She loves her small town. Carson is a good guy. He made decisions that were right for him to pursue his dream career but he left behind Nora. He's back in town for his Dad's wedding. He stays at Nora's bed and breakfast. Nora doesn't welcome him with open arms but there still is a connection here. She fights her feelings for Carson because she doesn't want to be hurt again. Carson is all in this time and won't stop until he gets his sweetheart back. These two are cute together even when she is fighting her feelings. I love this one.
I noticed after reading this one that it was part of the Sweetheart, Colorado Series. I loved these characters and the town so I looked it up and the series is a twelve multi-author series all centered around the small mountain town of Sweetheart, Colorado and all the books can be read as standalones. I'm definitely going to check out some more books in this series.

This is a quick, short story of the second chance at love variety. Charity is always a must read for me so of course I jumped to read it as soon as I could.

As with most novellas, theres a lot packed into a short timeframe and as with most novellas, Im always left with wanting more. I absolutely loved how Nora wasnt a shy, wilting flower after her 1st true loves come back to town. Instead, she sticks true to herself and lets her real feeling fly from the second she sees him standing in her B&B. I abosluetly loved that about her! I know its a novella, I know its supposed to be short, but I really wish she had stuck to her guns for a while longer, to make him grovel more and show her that he really did love her (which we got to see from his POV but still. lol)

Carson knew what he wanted, back when he was a teen and now as an adult. Now that he has the extra training and life experience as a doctor in a big city, he's ready to move back home, get the only woman he's ever loved back and help his brother take of his Dads practice. He puts his all into reaching each of his goals and in the end is successful. Overall, I enjoyed this book very much.

A fun and quick novella!
So normally stories like this don't grab my attention, but it's Charity Ferrell so I gave it a chance. And I liked it!
Nora has taken over her family's bed and breakfast in Sweetheart, Colorado. Her newest guest is her ex Carson, who broke her heart years ago. They were high school sweethearts but it ended in heartbreak when Carson left town to pursue his medical career. Now he's back in town and in her B&B for his father's wedding. Even after all these years, the sparks are still there between them. Will this be their second chance or just more heartbreak?
This story was a very quick read for me. I finished it in less than an hour. As it is a novella, there isn't too much story development. But with Nora and Carson's past, we get a lot of the setup that way. They've got a lot of history, and feelings that didn't go away despite a painful breakup. And now that they're forced back together, sparks fly once again. This definitely has the usual Charity Ferrell heat, and I think it's a fun read! Definitely check it out if you're looking for something quick and sweet!

A small taste of a love story...

Second Chance Sweetheart is a very quick read. The novella can pretty much be devoured in sitting. It's simple and sweet.

Nora and Carson were high school sweethearts until Carson left town to pursue his medical career in the big city, leaving Nora in their small hometown to take care of her family's bed and breakfast. When he returns for a wedding and wants a second chance, Nora must decide if she's willing to forgive and forget thereby risking her heart again or permanently shut the book on their love story.

I'm a big fan of Charity Ferrell's work and have been for years. I love her gritty, dark works usually which Second Chance Sweetheart is not, which is mostly why I gave it a lower rating than I usually do. The storyline felt a bit rushed to me and I would have preferred a full-length book for Nora and Carson's story with maybe a bit more angst. That being said, Charity Ferrell's an amazing author and although this one wasn't my cup of tea, I'll be anxiously awaiting her next novel which I'm sure will be a smash.

I received a copy of this book for the purpose of a review.

"Second Chance Sweetheart" by Charity Ferrell was a charming novella that featured a super cute, slightly steamy second chance romance between former high school sweethearts Nora Maxwell and Carson Hale. Carson and Nora never stopped loving each other, but the stress of a long-distance relationship proved to be too much for them when Carson moved to Chicago to become a doctor while Nora stayed behind to take over her family's bed and breakfast. Years later, Carson returned to his hometown for a family wedding, determined to make things right with the only woman he'd ever loved. Nora had no intention of welcoming him back with open arms, however, and she made sure he knew it!

Overall, I enjoyed this story and would recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to picking up a few of the other novellas in this series as well as exploring more of Charity Ferrell's work in the future.

Oh my what a fun and super fast read... I love Charity Ferrell's writing..

Nora and Carson were high school sweethearts they thought they would be together forever.. but when forever changes.. hearts are broken and hurtful things are said.. maybe forever isnt in the cards anymore?

Carson left town quite a few years ago.. he was following his dream.. but with that he left behind his world.. Nora was left heartbroken and angry with Carson left state to fulfill his dream.. FF 8 or so years later.. he is back in Sweetheart Co. for his Dads wedding.. and he just so happens to be staying at the little B & B that Nora owns and runs..

Sparks are about to FLY... BUT will Nora be able to forgive Carson for what happened in the past?

Check out this super sweet read.. and I cant wait to check out some of the other shorts in this set..

Wishing this was longer! I love Charity’s books and while I haven’t read the previous books in this series, I was able to follow this as a standalone. Unfortunately, I wish it was longer because I really wanted more out of the backstory between these two! Nora and Carson were high school sweethearts who thought they’d be together forever and build a life together, but per usual, things like that don’t happen most of the time. After breaking up and breaking her heart, Nora moves on with her dream of running her parent’s inn while Carson moved to the city to pursue his dreams through education. But when Carson comes back to town because of his father’s marriage, he realizes how much he missed Nora but also that he has fulfilled his dreams without her. This is a comedic novella with a happy ending.

This was a quick read but delivers all the feels. This is a second chance romance and shows how life can affect young love. Nora has taken over the Bed and Breakfast that has been in the family but has always thought about her first love Carson. Carson left his hometown to fulfill his dreams of being a successful Doctor but has always been scared to come back home and see if his first love had moved on. Now with his dad getting married he comes back and comes face to face with Nora. They both had hurt feelings with how things were left but you can tell that the spark is still lying dormant between them. I enjoyed both characters they were young and both decided to go for their dreams even though the love was there. Strong characters and a great plot line that was refreshing. short and sweet!

Nora & Carson fell in love with teenagers, and they truly believed they would end up together, but as life does, their paths went in different directions. Nora got her heart broken badly (not because of the different paths) when Carson went out of his way to do that to her, so she cut him off completely. He knew that he messed up badly, and he also knew that she's the one who got away so he doesn't come home for many years. However, finally he does come home for his father's wedding, so now the past will be faced since the wedding is at Nora's Bed & Breakfast, and he decided to stay there. This was a very good story, and with more length it would have been a fantastically great story with more of these two in my eyes. Anyway, Second Chance Sweetheart is a story that is easily devoured in a very short time so don't miss out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

(4 stars)

This was such a cute little story. High school sweethearts Nora and Carson parted on bad terms, like most breakups do. Carson wanted more from his future, wanting to leave for college as soon as possible, while Nora was very happy to stay in the tiny town they were from and take over her family's bed & breakfast. Years have gone by and now Carson has to come back to town for his father's wedding. Deciding to tempt fate, he goes straight to the Nora's bed & breakfast to get a room and see her for the first time since they split. Are there any good feelings left between the two or just bad ones? This gives us the perfect amount of drama and some hot chemistry. I give this 4 stars.

Who doesn’t love a second chance romance?!?! Especially one filled with some much chemistry you had the emergency services on hold!!

Second Chance Sweetheart by Charity Ferrell has the perfect mixture of sweetness and steam, making this book a great read. This is a quick, sweet, second chance romance which isn’t heavy on the angst but quick on the romance!

Our main characters are high school sweethearts, that everyone expected to last but when dreams and stubbornness get in the way, not all young love can withstand the turbulence. Fast forward to the present and the chance for our couple to forgive and love again are ever present.

Overall, it was a lovely quick read, just what you need on a cold spring day!

Second Chance Sweetheart was okay.
Carson and Nora were high school sweethearts who were convinced they were going to take on the world after graduation.
However, they both had their own plans and direction in life they wanted to go. Alcohol, a cocky attitude, and a few choice words steered their paths away from running side by side.
Now Carson is back in Sweetheart Colorado for his father's wedding. A wedding that Nora is hosting at the bed and breakfast. Nora is still bitter over the break-up and isn't ready to let bygones be bygones. Hell she even makes him a dinner she knows could kill him.

Not a favorite of mine. But it was a quick read that killed time while waiting at the doctor's office.

I love second chance romance and I enjoy reading this book so much. Of course, the plot is predictable but Ferrell creates an excellent story that I can feel Carson's regret for leaving Nora behind and how bitter Nora is after Carson comes back so I don't feel boring at all. The story is more emotional than I thought but Nora and Carson's banters are also entertaining and I like that the story is running in the right pace, it is not too slow or too fast, and their chemistry is sizzling through the book. It is one of good reads and refreshing after I finished reading all those dark and bully romances and before starting a new one though. If you love reading a second chance romance with a small town theme and lacking of drama, I would recommend this one.

I love it when an author can give me a great swoon-worthy story in a novella. A story that I know when I need a quick pick me up and can reach for it and it makes me feel good. 'Second Chance Sweetheart' does that brilliantly.

Carson and Nora grow up together in Sweetheart, they were in love and planning to spend they life together, but when Carson goes away to the city to become a Doctor the two break up. Now eight years later he is back for his dad's wedding and ready to win back the heart of the only girl he ever loved!

Thank you Charity Ferrell for keeping a smile on my first throughout the book.

The cutest and feistiest little novella ever and to say Carson and Nora have a past is an understatement but now he's back in Sweetheart and hoping for his second chance with B&B owner Nora who is his first love.

I loved how volatile it was between the two when Carson arrives back in town and wants to stay at Nora's B&B, I just love how he ruffles her feathers at this part but she had some feisty comebacks.

I love the attraction between them both even when Nora doesn't want to admit it, it's a laugh out loud, easy read but one that does wonders for your soul. Charity Farrell writes some amazing must read books and she's definitely won me over with this one.
