I hate my boss. Sure, he is gorgeous and worth a peek every now and then. He is such a jerk to everyone though.
This is my first job after graduating from college, and I remind myself that it is great to have.
I am good at it and learning a lot but I have to work with one of the grumpiest men in the world.
At least I have my friend Jack there.
My boss always shows me toughest side of him.
I have to work late at his insistence.
Now I am on a work trip with him, and I am seeing a different side of him.
We kissed in the hotel room…

This was a bit of an odd read. The writing style was a little weird. It felt very surface level, like it just skimmed and skipped over a lot and didn't delve very deeply. It almost felt like a super long outline. Putting that aside, the story was okay. Not original, but that's not something I'm necessarily looking for in an office romance. I know how these tropes go. There were a few creepy stalker vibes that I could appreciate. Just don't expect the characters to get together or revel how they feel (even to themselves) until the VERY end.

Not It
There was no real connection just a forced situation by the 85% mark of the book. I didn’t understand the forced situation with the other co worker either. Nothing flowed naturally through most of the book and there were a few misspelled words.

Ummmm WHAT? 🤔
Ms. Angel, although it had a promising storyline, it failed tremendously! It read like a grocery list. The flow was choppy. There was no getting to know the characters. Jack starts out pretty cool, but is really a jerk. Seth.....yes is a dad, but the only real dialogue exchange is while she's sick and it's his mom and sister who took care of her for the most part. Brenna is portrayed as a shy introvert who lovingly cares for her mom. Seth takes Brenna on a business trip and by the second night they fall into bed and in love. Ummmm......what? There was no leading spark, no witty banter, and this sums up the read. Back to the drawing board for this needs work. I'm sorry, I can't recommend this read. 🧐

This is a quick read about a older man/boss, Seth and his young assistant, Brenna. Seth has been focused on his professional life and makes time for his family that he does not share with many people. He knows when he hires Brenna she is qualified for the job and is very attractive. Brenna is over joyed with her new job and is happy to have a friend, Jack who wants more from her but she keeps it strictly friends. When Seth gets wind of his advances he becomes over protective of her and makes excuses for her to stay in at lunch or after hours. Things change for Brenna and Seth when he takes her on a business trip and once Jack finds out he tries to get Brenna to help with a life changing event for him. Brenna is one sweet and loving young lady who sticks to what she believes to be good for herself and Seth opens his heart to love and it’s returned. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Brenna is fascinated by her boss (Seth), who is a bit of a workaholic and has a bit of a grumpy attitude towards most people. Seth works hard, and expects others to work hard too, so don't expect him to go out for drinks with other workers. Although he would make an exception for Brenna (his assistant), who he secretly wants. Will this pair get a chance at something more? I enjoyed this office romance, Brenna is a young woman, who sacrifices a bit to help with her sick mother (so easy to like), but Seth can be a bit frustrating with some of the things he does (although not enough for me to dislike him).

Brenna’s mom has lupus and rather than go out with friends she stays at home to take care of her mom. Seth, her boss at the tech company, is intrigued by her and jealous of a coworker that Jenna is friendly with. When they go on a business trip things become heated. Will Brenna and Seth admit their feelings for one another?.
Everything happened very quickly in this short story and Seth seemed overly possessive of Brenna even before they were actually involved. The ending seemed very rushed and to show how little they really knew each other he didn’t even tell her until the end that he has a daughter.

Brenna e Seth sono segretaria e capo. I due non si parlano molto ma si osservano. Si desiderano, ma lui avendo una figlia non può mettere tutto a tacere e buttarsi in una relazione. Vuole valutare bene la situazione e decidere per bene. Ma appena vede che un'altro uomo si interessa a Brenna decide di partire in viaggio con lei e si confessano amore reciproco.
Bhe veloce, senza pathos, molto irritante per i personaggi secondari.
Ecco il mio riassunto della storia.
Non esiste peggior cosa di un libro lento per il 90% e poi "Sonic levate proprio!"...
Mancavano le scene con la figlia, con i genitori di lei... Qualcosa che spiegasse come nasce questo amore rapido! Un qualcosa insomma.

Extremely poor transition. The first 9 chapters there was little interest beyond physical. The H states he doesn’t want to date and doesn’t show a loving interest, only physical and jealousy when OM shows interest to h.
There is no transition from character building to include introducing family members to being in love. Not even a kiss.

This book ends super abruptly. It needed another 10-20 pages. I only had like 10 pages left and I felt like I hadn’t really gotten into the story yet. I’m a big fan of novellas so the length wasn’t an issue for me, but the pacing of the story was. It felt like the author got sick of writing and gave up lol

I really like the main characters in this story and enjoyed the story itself right until the last few pages.
All of sudden the problems/concerns Seth had are gone without discussion--seemed a bit anticlimactic.

Short and Sweet!
This was a short book, that leaves you wanting a little more. The story is just so darn cute. You’ll like the characters and want to know more of what happens next.

Assistant and Boss Daddy – Claire Angel – I really liked this all the way to the end. Why do novellettes always rush the ending? Still cute, but I think it needs a couple more chapters so it doesn’t feel so abrupt! Happy Reading!

Honestly, the build-up was good. It had a good start but in the middle it felt like it the connection between them was forced and then the ending was just awful. Its like the ending was rushed. The real story was just wiped out for a quick, smut-filled end. Could've done a better job at it.

Loved it!
This was a great read. I like office romance. They are sweet and entertaining. The characters were great. The storyline was nice. The ending was absolutely fantastic.
