A paranormal journalist exposing the truth. A man with secrets best left hidden. A heat that threatens to burn them both.

Destiny Blake
Everyone has secrets, including me.
When my friend goes missing while researching a story about me, I have to stop him before it’s too late.
Only problem is the mountainous terrain is as much a mystery to me as the man who’s leading the search. Trusting each other isn’t going to be easy, especially when the ranger responsible for my safety harbors secrets of his own.

Walker Bennett
Doing my job and keeping my family’s secrets most days is easy, and as a forest ranger, isolated on the outskirts of town, tracking down poachers is my idea of a good day.
Until I met my Destiny.
I’ve been ordered to help a sexy, smart paranormal reporter search for her missing friend.
She’s inquisitive, in search of a good story, and it will take every bit of my concentration to keep my secrets off her radar.
Finding her friend isn’t my problem. The more time I spend with her, the more I hope her friend stays lost.
Exploring a relationship with the woman who sets my blood on fire will have to wait. With danger lurking around every tree and an inexperienced hiker in my care, I have to locate her friend and get them both off the mountain—story-less and alive.

Sign me up for some Walker Bennett! I loved this guy from the moment I started the book and he was begrudgingly painting a sign after losing a poker game and this was his debt. He's a little rough around the edges yet has some charm and magnetism that he keeps well hidden, especially around Destiney Blake.

Destiney is a reporter and has an ulterior motive for having Walker guide her around the mountain. Walker is a ranger and knows every inch of this mountain and the last thing he wants to do is lead a reporter around who could destroy his family. He doesn't want to like her. He certainly doesn't trust her, but she wound her way into his heart. When he discovered the truth, he was rightfully angry and resented her for holding it back.

I don't want to say too much. I don't want to ruin the story for everybody else. But she's hiding something and so is he. When I found out what it was, I was surprised and so was Walker. There's a lot of mystery, twists, and turns in this story that kept my attention and kept me turning the pages. The ending was a total bust. I didn't see that coming.

This is a short book, easily read in just a few hours. I loved the suspense, plot, the steam (there was one scene that was pretty hot and the others were fade-to-black and that's okay), and the characters. However, I do wish there were more descriptions of the characters. I never got a clear picture of Walker or Destiney. This is probably just me, but it's easier to connect with characters when I can get a good view of them in my head. Their personalities were pretty well defined, but I needed more of a physical idea of what they looked like.

Overall, this is a good book and I'm anxious to read the next one. The teaser from the next book at the end of this one made me want to read more.

Fast paced with twist st the end

This was a fast paced book and easy to follow, but with a few surprise scaling the way as well as a twist at the end. Would give five star, but the I love your were just a little too Insta for me. These are all fast burn, but didn't feel the chemistry as much for this couple. They had chemistry and I loved their personalities and characters. I loved how the Bennett clan came out full force on this one as well. They all work very well together. Their abilities are fun to read about. This author puts out a crazy number of quality books a year.

AWESOME

Walker Bennett is on the path to his Destiny and he doesn’t understand that just yet. Destiny Blake is on a quest to find her past. The two have to work together to make both things happen and there are several unexpected outcomes of the whole situation. You won’t want to miss this Bennett book! I’m looking forward to the next Bennett book, now!
