Elodie Taylor has a lot to be thankful for. She has great friends, a hardworking boyfriend and a job she enjoys but she's always wondered whether that's enough. She has a lifelong thirst for adventure that, no matter how hard she tries, just won't go away. With the help of her two best friends, and a chance encounter with a handsome stranger, Elodie embarks on a journey that she hopes will change her life for the better, and satiate her longing for escape. But all is not smooth sailing in Elodie's shiny new world and a betrayal means that she soon finds herself tangled in a dark web of deceit and desire that sees her relationships pushed to breaking point. Elodie is torn and must make some difficult decisions - decisions that could have high costs, and not only for her.

Annabelle's first novel, The Endless Autumn was listed as Cosmopolitan's top raunchy read and topped the romance charts.

Trying to read this book has stripped me of my will to live. I can’t understand why or how the people who worked on this book labored to turn half a sliver of a notion into just the worst thing I’ve read in a long time, if ever. This is worse than a two word fan fiction story. I will never understand what possessed the people that executed this abomination to do so. I kept going and going and thought surely this is headed to an actual story with actual characters and actual plot and dialogue but I was wrong. I don’t know who actually wrote this, perhaps it was written by the least sophisticated AI to ever exist, but that is an insult to AI. I’ll have to live the rest of my life knowing that someone spent time and effort on this and convinced others it was a good idea. I don’t think there any explanation that could give me satisfaction. I grow weary of the human condition that brought about this literary atrocity. For all that is holy, do not waste your time or money or thought on this book.

Chasing Clouds by Annabelle Knight is the adult version of chick-lit. After pushing through the first few chapters, I was hooked until the end of the book.

Elodie had many men in her life in the duration of the book. The flow of the story was such that I can almost categorize the book as women’s literature. Her friendships, jobs and relationship and her thought process regarding each were what the book was all about. I think that seeing Elodie passion for travel made me fall in love with travel myself.

I loved the friendship trio of Elodie, Carla and Steph. Carla and Steph always stood up for Elodie and sometimes even stood up to her for her good. I would want to have friends like them for myself.

You will curse Elodie for all she does but will have to accept, that it is all life where one makes mistakes all the time but should have the strength to move past them and do what you wish in life. The book enthralled me to a great extent. I can’t wait to read another book by the author.

*I got the book from Austin Macauley Publishers for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this! A good easy read that was a lot of fun. Really liked the positive friendship between the girls and loved Carlas character! I will say that it’s quite a long book though, could probably have been cut a little shorter in places.

A great fun book to read. Easy to get into and really enjoyed the development of the story. Second book I’ve read from this particular author (first being Endless Autumn) and I’d recommend both of them. Looking forward to her next release as I really like her writing style.

Not a bad storyline but the character development wasn't quite there for me. Too much of a wet blanket for the main character. It irked me so much it had an impact on my reading experience. Overall, not a bad book though.

Maybe it’s just me, as this seems to have loads of positive reviews but I found this so difficult to finish. It takes over 150-180 pages to even get to any storyline sorted. We spend most of the first half of the book navigating the mess of the protagonist’s life and having unnecessarily long introductions to the people she is involved with, such as her parents, who she must be fairly close to as they apparently have influenced her to stay with her misogynistic boyfriend yet we never actually meet them. Character development was non existent, most are very shallow in terms of substance and what could start as an interesting development either gets forgotten about or 180’d so they end back to how we met them. It was near impossible to empathise or support the protagonist, she’s incredibly naive, ungrateful and unbelievably selfish. There was no real plot, and the pacing was all over the place. You’d read one paragraph and then go onto the next only to find that you are on a new day/event, without so much as an extra space or interval to visually represent it. It reads for a generally confusing piece of fiction that I found disappointing throughout.
