Yellow Meadows #2

Unabashedly Yours

Rate this book
I close my long fingers around her delicate ankle, “You need to get a life, Sabrina.”

Darren:

I like control, sue me. In fact, don’t, it usually works the other way around.

I have to say, my life is on tracks:

✓ I make decent money with a job I love,

✓ my house looks good

✓ I have spare to help Ma.

Well, the pink-haired devil begs to differ.

My assistant, Sabrina Rubio, (a.k.a., the bane of my existence) has an opinion about everything, particularly about my dating life. She thinks I can fall in love just like those men in the romance books she devours. But that’s one more thing we have to disagree.

Sabrina can call me a grumpy boss as much as she likes. There will be no office flirting going on at number 34, Main Street - Yellow Meadows.

Between her steamy romance books and her crass humour, I’m pretty sure her main goal is to drive me insane.

 Sabrina:

His lips curls inside his mouth, nostrils flare. Janey, I made him angry, didn’t I?

Oops.

*This sweet romantic comedy is an absolute treat for fans of Sally Thorne’s THE HATING GAME, Jo Watson's LOVE TO HATE YOU or Lucy Score’s BY A THREAD. Or for anyone who’s looking for a spicy new book, an opinionated heroine, a grumpy and protective hero. Fighting as foreplay and the beloved enemy to lovers trope.

Amy Oliveira is a contemporary romance author dedicated to write about the two things you shouldn't skip: therapy and smut.
Amy's leads are strong, flawed, and very open about their mental health struggles. And her heros are understanding, lovable, and often pierced.
The combination results in a delicious slow burn with a lot of heart and a lot of heat.

idk why authors think shitting on teachers in the first few words is the way to get the reader on their side?? or having characters act abominably to anyone idc what the issue was.

I was waiting for Darren story since I read Ellis Montgomery, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint! If you like slow burners, office romance and enemies to lovers, this is for you. The plot goes like this: Darren is in need of an assistant, and Ellis introduces him to Rina, who he hires, and so it stars a battle of wits. I loved the banter, how Rina loves romance (don’t we all??) and how they begin to map out all the cliches that we adore. Their personalities are great too, how grumpy and responsible Darren is and how free and funny Rina is. I felt a Mr Darcy and Pride and Prejudice kind of vibe from the story, and that’s always a plus for me. I can’t wait for more books from this series, from Bette, to Thad and finally London (yes, I want all of them happy and in love in their own books!). If you are looking for a great read, with a feminist feel and amazing writing, that’s the book for you.

Do you know how do you actually know if a book is really good?? It gives you goosebumps ! GOOSEBUMPS ladies.. Also, that knot on your throat when something bad or sad happens and you also feel it, like if its happening with you, yep, we have that too!

I can't recommend this book enough. The way the whole store builds up and and how we fell in love with Dar and Rina. It was so sweet, they were so open with each other, it was beautiful !
Defo one of my favs from 2020. Now, DO NOT ask me which book from The Yellow Meadows I loved the most because I honestly don't know, each one brought different feelings...! Anyway, STOP what you are doing and go read the whole series...! Where is the next oneeee Amy !?!?

God... I have no words.
If I loved Ellis Montgomery, I can't even start expressing my feelings for this book.
Rina is a bookworm like all of us, she devours romance and knows all the good cliches. I felt like I was reading myself. Her passion for romance is incredible.
I will not spoil this book, I will say it's a must read, a perfect office romance, enemies to lovers, small town romance! Everything we love the most!
Plus Rina makes Darren read her favourite romance novels, and the list is in the end of the book! I'm going through it now!!

Strong woman

Sabrina is no shrinking violet, he is not a handsome push over. A very enjoyable, easy read! Perfect way to relax after a long stressful day.

In this second book of the Yellow Meadows Series, we get to know the story of Rina and Darren.

We got a little taste of the pair in the first one and the tension between them was undeniable.

Rina is a romance writer who works for Darren, the young and handsome town lawyer. She has the magical talent to get on his nerves and his views on love really drive her crazy. What's not to love about these two?

But here comes the surprise, even feeling that you know exactly where everything is going, the ending has a little twist that you may not have imagined.

Now I'm ready for book 3!!!

I said that Unabashedly Yours is a love letter to the romance genre itself and I wasn't lying.
If you're a bookworm obsessed with romance, you'll love Rina and understand her passion. When I was plotting, I wanted to have Rina like a symbol for all of us: the book nerds, the romance afficionados!
I hope you fall in love with Yellow Meadows once more, and mostly that you enjoy the story of a romance author finally falling in love.
