Wicked Restless

Rate this book
Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life’s pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb…and isolated.

Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew’s life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.

But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he’s willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.

Cuts are deep.

Scars are left behind.

And revenge beckons.

When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don’t really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.

Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it's too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?

Andrew Harper hasn't lived an easy life, he is no stranger to tragedy or the gossip that follows his family, but he's always had his big brother Owen. Now at 16, Owen is away at college and Andrew is struggling to find his place in the world, no longer in the shadow of his brother. He is detached and lonely, until he meets Emma Burke. She is beautiful and mysterious, he falls quickly.

description

But one night. Everything changes. Owen and Emma make a choice, and the consequences of that choice and unforeseen events that follow put an abrupt end to their relationship.

"I'll never make the mistake of picking someone else again. I pick me. Me. And you can go to hell.

5 years later, these two are reunited, but it's not a happy reunion. Andrew is not the sweet, innocent boy he once was. He is angry and bitter, and all that resentment falls at Emma's feet. Emma is simply confused, but as these two put together the pieces, they start questioning what that were led to believe. Will learning the truth, pave the path to forgiveness and a second chance?

I'll always want you to be the one who gets to be okay. And I hate you for that most of all. You said that night ruined everything, and you were right. It ruined me. I will never be the same.

These two drove me nuts. I was constantly yelling at my kindle, frustrated, because if they would just communicate they could have saved themselves and others a lot of pain and heartache. I loved their puppy love beginning and the drama/angst behind the accident and Andrew's resentment was great, but I wasn't happy with the Lindsey situation , and the story got a bit overwhelming at times, especially towards the end with so much was going on. That said, I enjoyed this one, it was an sweet romance, wrapped up in angst, heartbreak, and some beautiful moments.

"Everywhere, Emma. I . Hurt. Everywhere."

Wicked Restless is the second book in the Harper Boys series. I was so in love with the first book that I started this one immediately after. It was a hard to read book, but in a different way than the first.

Andrew Harper is Owen’s little brother. He’s got the curse of the ‘Harper name’ in their small town. When he meets the new student, Emma Burke, she doesn’t seem to care about the rumors surrounding him. She likes him for him. I loved Emma and Andrews beginning story. In fact, I wish there would have been more of that!
“She’s what I’m supposed to have. She’s what my first kiss should have been. And she’s the only kiss I ever want to remember.”

One night, things change in a big way for Emma and Andrew. I’m talking a life changing way. It puts Andrew on a different path than the one he was on. And as hard as it was, he wouldn’t have changed the choices he made. He loved Emma that much. Five years pass…. his heart was completely broken. Then he sees her again. His first love. His Emma.
“I'll always want you to be the one who gets to be okay. And I hate you for that most of all. You said that night ruined everything, and you were right. It ruined me. I will never be the same.”

Andrew did some things after they were reunited that I wasn’t happy with. But he was in pain. I may not have liked the choices he made, but I understood why he did the things he did. And with time and explanations, I think Emma did, too. I was heartbroken by his behavior, but then when I heard his story, I was even MORE heartbroken by that.
“Where are you hurt?”

"Everywhere, Emma. I . Hurt. Everywhere."

As much as I loved this book, it frustrated me beyond measure at times. I wanted to scream at both Emma and Andrew- COMMUNICATE! For the love of god so much could have went different with them, but I get that they were young and both hurt. It’s hard. Still, even with all that was going on, I wanted these two to find a way to be together so badly.

Wicked Restless is an angsty read. It’s one that will induce kindle throwing moments, but it’s also a beautiful story of first love, of love overcoming all, and a story of healing. Even though I didn't love it quite as much as the first, it was still a fantastic read!
“You get to come first. I don’t have a choice, Emma, the universe wants you to be my reason for living. I’m a salve to its demand.”

"Where are you hurt?
I. Hurt. Everywhere."

Who deosn't love a good second chance love story? Huh? The heartbreak, betrayal, rage, angst, miscommunication, secrets revealing and heart mending. If you crave all of that in your books, then you can get it all here.

We meet Andrew and Emma at the age of sixteen, they are young and at the beginning of a beautiful relationship. I just loved seeing them getting to know and falling for each other. One night and horrible accident changes it all. The decision is made and it breaks them apart.

"I resent you.
I blame you.
I hate you."
Five years later, Andrew and Emma meet again in college. He is angry and full of resentment, not the same boy she met and fell in love with all those years ago. It leaves her confused and makes her question why he is so full of hatred towards her. I wanted to scream at them so many times and throw my kindle a few times too. If only they talked to each other sooner, all the heartbreak could have been stopped and Andrew probably wouldn't have dated her roommate Lindsey in revenge. But that wouldn't provide us with so much angst, which I loved! Though I think there was one kiss too many on Andrew's part, which didn't belong to Emma and I wish Lindsey was treated differently because it wasn't my favourite part. I think now peer pressure on Ginger Scott to give HEA to Lindsey since Andrew and Emma got theirs.
"Emma", he breathes, his whisper against my mouth. "So long...I wanted...I waited."

"I ...I waited. For you. I...I haven't given this to anyone. I saved it. And I'm pretty sure I was saving it for you."
This was another hit from Ginger Scott, and if you are a fan, you won't be disappointed this time either. Truly great story, well written, with heartbreak and angst but also sweet, reunited love. And although I think there was a bit too many bad things happening toward the end to main characters, it didn't stop me from loving the story as a whole. Highly recommend!

This was a well written story that had me fully engrossed till I got further into the present chapters. I loved Andrew and Emma at sixteen and the events that ensue that torn them apart are very creative. Young Andrew and Emma were so cute and all those butterflies that you look for in a read where flying in full force.

”I want this girl to be the girl- my girl. The one I take to things and experience everything with.”

Thereafter, I kind of struggled with Andrew being a college genius, hockey player, part time child helper and an underground fighter? The fighter portion felt off for me and would have liked more academics and hockey. Also, the cover of the book is gorgeous BUT there isn’t a Ferris wheel scene in this book – there was in book one though. So not sure why a Ferris wheel is the focus of the cover?

description

The story hits angst land as Andrew and Emma’s paths intersect in college and for revenge he dates her best friend, Lindsey. I loved Lindsey and she played college softball and is smart (hoping she gets the next book). So, Andrew revenge dates Lindsey, Emma is confused as to why Andrew is so hateful towards her. Many secrets are revealed and these two finally communicate.

”You said that night ruined everything, and you were right. It ruined me. I will never b the same. It ruined us – as if there ever was an us.”

The story has some far-fetched drama with

All those unread letters truly tugged on my heartstrings and overall this was a good read with aspects I wish were eliminated.

”I have him. He’s mine, and I’m his. And we’ve left his wake of destruction, disaster, and remorse all about us to get here…”

Unexpected...emotions, unexpected story line, unexpected drama and mostly the sweetest unexpected romance from a young, awkward, nerdy little brother who's grown up to be quite the hunk even with his temper!

So obviously I was surprised at Andrew's story...not anything that I expected. We met Andrew in his brother's book, Wild Reckless, and he was just the sweetest thing and you couldn't help but want him to have this amazing romance. I'm so glad that G.S. fulfilled that.

Andrew and Emma met in high school during P.E. class. Andrew is smitten right away...and Emma is too. Slowly, they get to know each other and spend what little time together that they are able. But then something happens one night and their lives will never be the same.

And then we have the time jump...but to be fair, it was necessary. They were just too young. Part Two takes place five years later when they both are in college...at the same college.

description

Andrew is not the same sweet boy he was...he's a very angry young man and yep, you guessed it...all his anger is directed towards Emma. However, she has no idea why and is so caught off guard that she just goes along with him claiming to not know her all the while dating her roommate! Of course, Emma doesn't know that he's only dating her roommate to get at her...and to get to know what's going on with her and in her life.

Gradually, some much needed information gets out and that's the turning point for both of them. However, Andrew still needs some answers so he goes and gets them.

Naturally, there's some big drama with the roommate but that's only the tip of the iceberg. Andrews had to endure some things that are not very nice and that's thrown him into a dark world.

I have to say that Andrew's anger was so intense that I had a hard time not being affected by it. I was really happy when things turned...phew!

And these two are just so sweet and steamy together even if I felt the first time was a bit of a stretch.

One thing I had an issue with was the assaults that happened to both Emma and Andrew. While Emma's was given the notice it deserved, Andrews was swept under the rug. Understandably, he deserved some fallout but he was ASSAULTED as well, and while his injury was tended to, it was tended to badly! I just don't like the gender difference.

The ending was pretty crazy...totally wasn't expecting that outcome. But I enjoyed getting some Owen and a little bit of Kensi. I loved the epilogue and how everything worked out.

Title: Wicked Reckless
Series: Harper Boys #2
Author: Ginger Scott
Release date: October 20, 2015
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

I'm a huge fan of Ginger Scott and have followed her since her Falling series. She writes wonderful sweet and poignant New Adult, and she proved she can write a darker and more angst filled story with Wild Reckless. I admire this author so much and with every book I see incredible growth and beauty in her writing. This book is no exception. I saw so much depth and emotion in these characters, she had me completely captivated inside the pages from the start. I wasn't always happy with certain characters' actions, but I can honestly say I never had an ounce of boredom for this couple. You will in turn love them, and very possibly hate them, and then hurt inside for the pain they go through.

Emma and Andrew met in high school and their feelings burned as quick as a flash fire. It was all the sweetness of finding first love and the passion that can't be controlled. From the very first converse foot tap, they had me. Emma's quiet, shy attraction and Andrew's nervous and desperate need to get close to her melted my heart. These two teens have already been through more in their young lives than anyone else should at their age. They're burdened with pain and are both very unhappy. Whereas Andrew is judged and pitied by the town for his tragic family history, Emma's misery is a complete mystery. We know from the start that something is very wrong in her life but we're not sure quite what.

A chain of events occur that completely change the course of their lives. One choice, one moment, changes everything. A sacrifice is made, and misunderstandings turn to bitterness and hatred.

This started the stage of the book that I had a really difficult time with. Andrew has turned into someone cold and heartless. Since the last night he saw Emma, he's now in College and not interested in sweet words or sentiment. He's learned the hard way what having a soft heart gets you and he's not leaving himself open ever again.

It's like he was stolen-taken by someone, tortured, and returned half the boy he was-only to grow into a man with holes and broken pieces.

It wasn't his attitude that I had a problem with. In fact, even though I didn't particularly like how he acted, the more I read about the in between years, the more I sympathized with him.

Emma has also been through major changes. She's leading the life she always dreamed of, studying to become the doctor that she's aspired to be her whole life. When they meet again by chance, she's completely shocked and broken up to see Andrew's hatred aimed at her.

And not only does he make his feelings plain, but he's almost gleeful in his plan to get vengeance. This is what bothered me the most. Not only did he knowingly play with an innocent person's emotions and heart, but it continued on to the point where I found it hard to handle.

This part of the book but it was just difficult for me. I couldn't help but feel like it all could have been prevented if the two of them would have just communicated with each other about how they feel.

If you love an angst filled, emotional second chance story, this one would definitely be for you. This book put me through an emotional wringer. I was up, down, and sideways. Rooting for these two and wanting to strangle them. I was so completely caught up in this story that I read it on one sitting. It's a difficult story, one with two imperfect, broken people who's love endures through incredible pain.

4.5 Always Stars

Wicked Restless is a standalone and is part of the Harper Boys series. This is Andrew’s story, the youngest Harper brother.

I seriously love the Harper boys. I loved Andrew from the first book and I was hungrily excited for his story. I love that Andrew is young, nerdy and completely different from Owen. I love Owen in the first book, but like I said, I couldn’t wait for Andrew’s tale.

I love Ginger Scott books because to me, each of them are different. Her angst level can range from low to high and I would say Wicked Restless is in the middle. It’s doesn’t have that much angst as Wild Reckless, but it’s less than Waiting on the Sidelines. To be honest, Wicked Restless has just the right amount of angst to keep the tension high, but completely within reason.

Andrew is the smart one. He focuses on his academics and does what he’s told. He loves his older brother Owen, but Owen no longer lives at home, so Andrew kind of has to forge his own life. I really enjoyed the beginning a lot. It’s different from the previous book and I liked how sweet it was.

In the first part of the book, you get Andrew’s POV as a teenager. You see how different he lives his life compare to Owen. As much as a “normal” childhood he got, he doesn’t have Owen’s friends to hang out with anymore. Andrew also goes to college to take some advance classes and only attends high school for PE, where he meets Emma.

“She’s what I’m supposed to have. She’s what my first kiss should have been. And she’s the only kiss I ever want to remember.”

I loved Emma, but the emotions this girl made me feel. Emma is a very sweet girl and she is the same age as Andrew. They instantly become friends and start this sweet youngish romance. It’s really adorable, I’m talking about flirting between two young kids adorable. I couldn’t get enough of it.

Like Andrew, Emma has a past. The thing that really took me in was the dynamics between Emma and Andrew. BOTH of them have issues and it manifests as you read. I loved how both characters are troubled and pained. I couldn’t stop reading because of this. I had to know what Emma’s deal was and how Andrew handles his issues. It’s becomes a snow ball effect and so much is thrown at you.

My favorite parts were Andrew’s reflection towards Emma. He’s the Hero you will fall in love with from page one. He will continue to do things that will make your heart, melt, swoon and sigh. I have a mad crush on him.

“You get to come first. I don’t have a choice, Emma, the universe wants you to be my reason for living. I’m a salve to its demand.”

“I was a lost cause… lost to you. I’ve been through hell, and I would go again. I would go willingly, and would charge through the gates if it meant it would keep you safe.”

If you are a fan of the series or want to try a Ginger Scott read, I recommend this one. You will not be disappointed.

4.5 STARS! ★★★★☆

"I want Emma Burke. I always have. And I'm going to fight like hell to make her mine."

It's no secret that I've been DYING to read about the youngest Harper boy after finishing Wild Reckless. I even took the liberty to put that in my latter review and proceed to harass beg Ginger to write a spinoff book for him. AND MY WISH CAME TRUE!! This book delivered again when it comes to the delicious angst that I craved for and put me through quite an emotional wringer.

Wicked Restless is Andrew's story and if you remember him from the first one, he's Owen little brother and I could still recall what an endearing boy he was that had me pinning for him already! The book starts off with a 16-year old Andrew and boy was he adorable and smart. It's no surprise Ginger always write my dreamlike boys and I loved that she portrayed Andrew like a realistic teen boy who gets nervous around his crush (cue the awwh!). Needless to say, Andrew was smitten with Emma Burke when he first met her at a P.E lesson in school and he worked up his courage to be closer to her.

Friendship bloomed between these two and slowly dabbled into something more but it seemed that Emma was keeping a secret from him. We get POVs from both sides which really got me engaged into this read easily and I was just itching with suspense. However before these two got a chance at young love, one night changed everything that sent them both on a completely different course, forcing them to be apart. For good.

We are then brought to five years later where both Andrew and Emma are now attending college. They say time heals everything but certainly not for Andrew. He's a changed person; he's no longer the innocent boy, he's a fighter. When luck pushes them to cross paths again, both of them are forced to relive a past that tore them apart.

Omg can I just say how much my heart broke for my poor Andrew?! I'll admit, it was hard for me to accept the changed Andrew and had me a little pissed with the decisions he made when he met Emma again. But as I read on, I could understand Andrew's resentment during all those years he lost after that tragic night. We got snippets of his thoughts, delivered in the form of his letter writings during those years and trust me, I dare you to not feel sorry for this boy!! I was absolutely GUTTED during those moments, to listen to a young boy's voice who held so strong onto that young innocent love and how he just LOST it in a blink of an eye. And the things he've been through...I can't even seriously.

And with all of Ginger books, she proves that she isn't one to shy away from tackling the sensitive topics that is far from fiction. I'm so glad that she infused that into her characters and storyline which makes it so much more relatable to most of us. Andrew and Emma had a lot to work through before they can come to terms with what happened between them and it was done just right to dish out the needed angst.

Overall Wicked Restless had everything I hoped for and so much more. I didn't think we would have gotten Andrew's story from this angle but I loved the bold move Ginger took with this. This was a second-chance romance read with an edge. Not forgetting the appearances of Kensi & Owen from the first book that was also slotted nicely into this story, being the nice icing on the cake.

I can't wait to see what else is in the pipelines for Ginger but count me in for the eagerly wait!!

We first met Andrew Harper in Wild Reckless, he is Owen’s younger brother. These books are standalones and you don’t have to have read Wild Reckless to enjoy Wicked Restless, but I do think you will have a better understanding of Andrew and his family if you do.

Andrew Harper’s life has never been a picnic, but he is sixteen now and things have gotten better. Regardless, his family still has a negative reputation. Andrew isn’t the star basketball player like Owen, but he is academically gifted and in an accelerated program where he takes college course work at the community college. He doesn’t normally go to the actual high school, but is there for P.E. when he meets Emma.

Emma just moved to town when she meets Andrew, it doesn’t take long for her to hear the rumors about the Harpers, but she doesn’t listen to them. Emma decides to form her own opinion of Andrew and falls for him quickly.

I love young Andrew and Emma, they are cute, sweet and I enjoyed their story. Circumstances separate Emma and Andrew and the story picks back up 5 years later. From here is where I really fell in love with the story and couldn’t put it down. I was anxious and excited to see what happened next.

When Andrew and Emma meet back up five years later in college they are not the same people. They have both endured so many things and have completely misconstrued opinions of each other and the events from their past. They have to decide if they can trust each other again, if things are worth rebuilding and if the can ultimately forgive and move forward.

This story is definitely one of my favorites of Ginger’s stories. I felt the story from early on, but fell completely in love with part two. I love the selflessness in a character, but when I learned just what Andrew’s sacrifice meant I was in tears. These two together isn’t always easy, but I loved how they developed a connection early on and never truly let go. I went into this story thinking it was more YA and was happy to find it was very mature and grown up. Ginger delivered on every level with Wicked Restless, if you are fan of college romances and second chance love you will love this one!

“If you want me – you have me. Or…more clearly…I’m yours.”

“It was always you … It was worth it…for you.”

4 heart-clenching second-chance stars

I absolutely adored Wild Reckless, and was thrilled when I learned that Ginger Scott was giving us a sequel – a book featuring Owen’s younger brother Andrew. I would recommend everybody read Wild Restless because it's a sensational book, but you could easily read this one as a standalone if you really wanted to.

This book introduces Andrew as a 16 year old. Andrew lived through the same nightmare childhood that his brother endured, but now Owen has moved away for College, as have most of his friends, leaving Andrew very much alone and feeling isolated. Intellectually gifted, he spends most of his time studying College courses so doesn’t get to hang out with kids his own age, but when he is required to attend compulsory classes at the local high school, he meets Emma, and he is immediately enraptured.

Emma is fairly new to town – sweet and kind, and eager to experience life after some hard times of her own, she is just as captivated by Andrew as he is of her, and the two of them do everything they can to spend time together. Andrew shows Emma new experiences, and she brightens his world, showing him happiness and peace that he’s never known. They are absolutely beautiful to see together, with an ever-present sense of wonder, anticipation and excitement at all that they are experiencing. The all-consuming nature of their feelings for each other is realistic, and so, so sweet, and it’s written in a way that makes you feel it all along with them.

“I like you, Emma,” I say. My heartbeat fills my throat; I swallow and feel the heat take over my best and arms and hands.
… “Andrew,” she breathes out my name. It’s a whisper.

This girl has me, every part of me. She owns it all, and I am willing to wait for every new touch, knowing that it will feel just the same, just as perfect as this one does.
She is what I will look forward to.

Until one night they find themselves caught in a tragic situation and they make a decision which will shatter their budding relationship, and a series of unforeseen events completely change their lives.

*sniff*

Five years later, Andrew and Emma are unexpectedly reunited in College. But far from being the happy, love-struck reunion that sappy readers such as myself are desperate for, instead it’s with an air of disbelief and devastation that these two finally see each other again.

Andrew went through hell in their time apart, and he is almost unrecognisable as the sweet-hearted boy he once was. Full of anger and bitterness, his resentment towards Emma is scathing, believing that she betrayed him and then deserted him when he needed her the most, and he's SO mean! It's honestly hard to read and OMG, I wanted to smack him! She can see past his cruelty to the pain behind it, but has no idea why he feels the way he does. So with Andrew and all of his broken-hearted rage, and Emma just with a broken heart, the situation soon spirals into a mess of angst and heartache.

“You asked me who you are, Andrew. But I think maybe I never really knew. Whoever I met when I was a kid, that boy…he’s gone. I don’t know where he went. And I think maybe he never existed.”

The whole time I was reading I was screaming at the two of them just talk to each other! We, as readers, know what happened to them while they were separated, but neither of them have a clue, and waiting for it all to come out is torturous! But they can’t hold back from each other for long, and the truth is finally revealed in an emotionally intense scene that had tears streaming down my face.

“It was always you … It was worth it…for you.”

Thankfully, Andrew more than makes up for his douchebag behaviour and with the past finally revealed, their feelings are laid bare and their coming together is absolutely beautiful!

“Emma,” he breathes his whisper against my mouth. “So long…I wanted…I waited.”

But their reunion is only the first step to them moving on, and they are still facing a whole heap of issues. They have found each other again, and that has implications for their lives they lived separately, and the fallout from Andrew’s past continues to haunt him. It’s a heart-clenching ride to see them finally so happy but to have all of this other stuff coming at them, but they are committed to each other, and watching them stand strong and be there for each other through it all is really special.

“God, Emma. I’m yours. I’ve always been yours. From the moment I saw the dark silk of your hair and the storm in your eyes, I was a lost cause…lost to you. I’ve been through hell, and I would go again. I would go willingly, and would charge through the gates if it meant it would keep you safe.”

I loved this book. Andrew and Emma are both wonderful characters, and I loved them both. My heart ached for them and all that they went through, but I loved how incredibly strong they both are and how they faced everything and I was cheering for them to get their HEA. Owen and Kensington both appear, and I liked that we got to check in with them, and Andrew and Emma’s friends were a fantastic addition to the story.

Full of all of the emotion, angst, heartache and beautifully swoony romance that I expect from Ginger Scott, this book had my heart pounding and I was easily swept up in the story. The romance is beautiful, and so, so swoony (and there’s even a bit of super-emotional sexy time), and the emotional throughout the book is beautifully written. The drama did get a bit heavy towards the end, but I like the way it was dealt with and I’m really happy with how it all worked out.

An absolutely beautiful story. I loved it – 4 stars.

"I want Emma Burke. I always have. And I'm going to fight like hell to make her mine. I know a thing or two about fighting."

Ginger Scott.....there is only one question I have for you. Can I claim Owen and Andrew all to myself? (**please note- I am here picturing you nodding and agreeing with me that I can have those Harper Boys. haha**) Wicked Restless is the second and final installment of The Harper Boys and one of my most highly anticipated YA/NA book of 2015. When I first read about Andrew Harper in Wild Reckless, I wanted to know more about him. And let me just say, Ginger did not disappoint me with this book!!! Ginger Scott DELIVERED!!!! Wicked Restless was an emotional, slow burn second chance romance that was brimming with so much passion, angst, loss, hope, forgiveness and a palpable unforgettable love story.

#wickedRestless

Ginger Scott has been one of those authors whose writing speaks for themselves. She never fails to deliver a book that is refreshing, touching, and heartbreakingly beautiful. I love how her books always finds a way to grip and tug all those heartstrings. And the story of Andrew Harper and Emma Burke was a devastatingly beautiful love story where readers are taken on a Ferris Wheel ride, where sometimes you are up, sometimes you are down, but in the end, you just need to enjoy the ride. I can't explain how much I loved this book because Ginger held my heart hostage with Andrew and Emma.

#WickedRestless3

Wicked Restless is one of those stories that allowed readers to be consumed with it's characters. Andrew Harper, the genius of the Harper boys. The brother who could get into college that he wanted to. But living in a small town, people talked and they automatically labeled the Harper Boys as bad seeds. When Andrew first laid his eyes on Emma Burke, it was like something in him click that arrows and neon signs were pointing to him that Emma is the one. As a young sixteen year old teenager, Andrew knew without a doubt he was in love with Emma Burke. He fell in loved with her vibrant personality, beautiful soul and her charisma. He would do anything for her. And Andrew proved that when he took the blame on a car accident that forever changed his life. Fast forward to five years later, Andrew is angry at the girl who didn't bother to write back and wait for him. He resented that his time away changed him to a broken man. Call it fate or what not, when Andrew is reunited with Emma, he is filled with a mixture of emotions. Hurt, betrayal, anger, loss, pain and emptiness are coursing through him. He needed Emma but at the same time he didn't. But one thing is for certain, Emma Burke was under his skin. She was the girl that he loved so much and having her reappear back in his life brought back a storm. A storm where he knew he had to face head on to find out why the girl he loved broke his heart five years ago.

"The more she talks, the more I feel every scar on my body all at once- the burn marks, the stab wounds, the broken bones that never healed quite right- abuse I took so Emma Burke didn't have to experience anything sad."

#WickedRestless2

They say every story has two sides. And in Wicked Restless, Ms. Ginger once again pulls your heartstrings as you discover what really happened five years ago. Emma had a secret that she kept from Andrew. She was born with a heart condition that was life threatening. Emma needed a heart transplant in order for her to live her life to the fullest. Though Emma may have been born with a broken heart, her heart was filled with so much love for the boy who owned it. Andrew Harper was the only one that her heart yearned for. And so when she was reunited with Andrew, she was hurt, saddened by the way Andrew treated her. The way he could treat her as something of the past. But when Emma and Andrew finally had the chance to rehash what happened, truths and secrets begins to be revealed? Can love heal all the scars that were inflicted upon Emma and Andrew?

#WickedRestless1

Wicked Restless was more than a love story. This book was a prime example of why I love reading Ginger's books. She was able to incorporate the elements of love, forgiveness, hope, and second chances. And most importantly, Ginger reminds us all that every scar tells a story. A story that says, you have survived. And for Emma and Andrew this sentiment holds true. They are both survivors. They have both lived through the ups and downs of life and through all the hardships, they were able to find and fight their way back to each other. So if you are looking for a book that will tugs all the heartstrings and hold your heart hostage in this touching second chance romance, then I highly recommend you to read Wicked Restless.

4 ”It’s always been you.” Stars

Andrew Harper’s story in Wicked Restless comes as the second installment of the Harper Boys series but can be read as a standalone. I’m a huge fan of Ginger Scott’s and am so because with each new YA/NA title she releases there’s an aura of magic introduced in her stories that always reminds of the precarious state of falling in love for the first time. This story told from both Andrew’s point of view and Emma’s, our heroine, reminds of how affected we can be when we meet the first person who gives us butterflies.

Andrew’s story picks up a little after where Owen’s ends. Stepping out of Owen’s shadow, Andrew is learning who he is without his big brother around. Seeing Emma Burke changes him and consequently her. The two have a really lovely friendship blossoming into more as the reader knows Emma is hiding something. Through a night that includes a series of misguides decisions the two are thrust apart. A side effect of this night is the vulnerability and change we see in Andrew. I fell really hard for his character through these chapters of his solitude and loneliness. Forces beyond themselves keep the two apart for several years when once again one night sets another series of misguided intentions spiraling into great angst for both Andrew and Emma.

These characters really do shine. Compassion and vulnerability is inescapable as the two navigate their lives with limited control over one fateful night. Ginger Scott’s Harper Boys books are YA, bordering NA, because they’re grittier and truer to the realism of life, in my opinion. The grit comes from the characters struggles, of which both Andrew and Emma have plenty. One night forever changed each of them. There were some things that didn’t mesh for me – some of Emma’s reactions, likewise some of Andrew’s – but their motivations were always founded in the incredible hurt they felt from seeing each other again.

As an aside, the best friends of both characters would make a really great love connection as they added a softness to each main character because of the bond they share.

Wicked Restless provided me a great story just like I knew it was. The first 30 percent and the last 30 percent being my favorite parts respectively. Great change happened to each character, a maturing thanks to the selfless decisions Andrew made as a young man. Each of them deserving to be each other’s safe place. Ginger Scott always gives me a highly enjoyable reading experience. Her books always tell a beautifully, hard story reminding me that this vulnerable in our lives is about experiencing the triumphs along with the downfalls. I’d recommend Andrew’s story to anyone who enjoys a grittier YA romance but highly recommend you read Wild Reckless first.

Yay...I am back from holidays which was great! LOL Now, for as for this book...I am not sure if it was because I was on holidays and preoccupied with all of the excitement...I just couldn't seem to get into this book. A huge part of the issue for me was the fact that the couple spent a great deal of their story apart from one another. This is a very big pet peeve of mine when I am reading any kind of romance book. My preference with any love story is having a ton of interaction with the main characters. So, basically because of that hurdle, I began to resent the book and it ended up more work to read it, instead of enjoyment.

I did love book one in this series, and honestly if there is another in this series that comes out in the future; I would definitely still give it a chance. It is quite possible that I was just too busy with other things to become fully absorbed!!!

This book is amazing.

I LOVED the first book in this series. Sometimes that makes me afraid to read the second book because I have expectations and sequels don't always measure up.

That was NOT the case here at all. I couldn't put it down.

What I loved:
- The writing - Ginger sucks me in.
- Andrew. OMG. What this boy went through. I love Andrew Harper. He's smart AND athletic. The inner turmoil, his struggles to not let anyone close. Gah.
- Emma. Emma went through her fair share of struggles. And she is a survivor.
- The magnetism. I love how hard these guys try to fight the pull. But they just can't stay away from each other.
- The angst. OMG. This book almost killed me with angst. One thing after another. When I thought they were done overcoming obstacles, another was was thrown their way. Sheesh. My heart.

This book made me feel. I felt EVERY emotion. I laughed, I cringed, I cried, I was frustrated, I wanted to get in the book and shake the characters and force them to TALK, then I wanted to punch some people. I loved feeling the chemistry and connection between Andrew and Emma most of all.

Suffice it to say I really loved this story.

I can't stop thinking about it.

Bottom line: read it!!!!

I love love Wild Reckless. I am so looking forward to read the second book.
But Wicked Restless is really disappointment. The concept of second change love is beautiful. But the whole plot is just.... unbelievable.

The miscommunication between Andrew and Emma is difficult to convince me. Why can't Andrew just ask Emma what happen. Why Andrew must go to Lindsey and wreck her too because of his stupid ego and immature behavior? And when their past slowly unravel between Andrew and Emma, yet Emma forbid Andrew to break up with Lindsay. What kind of friend forcing the boy she likes to pretending to be her best friend's boyfriend?

The whole plot can be solved with a good and honest communication. Only Andrew and Emma who acts really immature.

i had to think about my rating for this one. loved the first 40% but struggled a little with certain choices made by our characters at a certain stage but thats not to say i didnt enjoy and utterly devour it!

i am a huge fan of ginger scott. she is one hell of a storyteller who not only writes some of the most beautifully sweet new adult books but has yet again proved she can tackle some of those darker and more emotional tones and elements throughout the genre.

this book had a bit of something for everyone, along with the sweet and cute moments there are secrets, heartbreak and miscommunications. if you love any of those things in your books, you'll utterly enjoy this one.

regardless of that, this story was so much more than a love story, its about forgiveness and hope. our characters had flaws, they werent perfect people but none of us are. andrew and emma had real struggles that the author handled perfectly. if you enjoyed book one then you should definitely read on for andrews story.

EXCERPT:
“Alright, Harper. Who’s the target tonight?” Trent leans over me, startling me out of my trance, grabbing my next beer and taking it for his own.

“Hey, dickhead,” I say. He holds up a hand and orders another one, sliding it to me. “I’m pretty sure it’s your turn this time.”

His face falls and his complexion turns green. Trent and I have this game we play with one another. It started as a drunken dare a few months ago, when he goaded me into taking a girl home from Majerle’s Pub. I’m not suave; I don’t have great pick-up lines. I usually wait for girls to hit on me. I wait for easy. When Trent dared me, I came up with my own set-up—I stole a girl’s wallet. I returned it to her later, pretending I’d found it. She was so grateful she spent the rest of the night sitting on my lap, her arms looped around my neck, her lips sucking on my skin, her hands soon finding their way in my pants.

That first girl taught me to never bring any of them to our apartment. I go to theirs now. It’s easier to leave then it is to kick someone out.

“Fine, I’ll go. But next time, I get to pick your girl,” I say, tipping my beer back to drink what’s left before leaving the bottle on the bar behind me and pointing at my friend.

“Dude, whatever. You know it’s your turn anyway,” he says.

“My choice next time,” I remind him as I walk backward. I know it’s his turn, and I also know he doesn’t really like taking the dare. Trent’s too nice, and he usually ends up dating the girl for weeks after. He doesn’t like to be an asshole. Or maybe he just doesn’t like people to say bad things about him. Maybe there’s no difference between the two.

I couldn’t give a shit what people say about me. Let ’em talk.

I make one pass through the crowded bar, letting my eyes roam over the dance floor and the tables that line the back wall on the way to the bathrooms. It’s a Friday night, so there are lots of girls here. It’s the middle of the semester, too, so they’re all ready to party—no finals to worry about. There’s one group that seems like an easy target, a blonde on the end who keeps trying to talk the others into dancing. I hover around the restrooms waiting for my shot, and when she finally drags the group of girls with her out to the dance floor, I walk back through the crowd, passing their table.

So easy.
Their wallets and purses are all piled in the center of the table except for a red bag looped over the back of a chair, the ID sticking out of the top. I drag my hand along the bottom of the table, and as I pass the red handbag I grab the small plastic card poking from it, tucking it into the sleeve around my palm. I glance up to make eye contact with Trent, and raise the corner of my mouth in a smirk.

“Dude, you are so slick at this. Seriously, if you flunk out of the engineering program you should just turn to a life of crime.”

I slide into my stool and look away from him. I know he was just saying words, but the joke doesn’t sit well with me. I have a chip on my shoulder. It’s my fucking chip, and I earned it. He also doesn’t know how many nights I walk that line with Harley, fixing bets that are illegal in the first place. Trent just thinks I like the workout boxing gives me.

“Well…let’s see it? Who’s the lucky lady?”

I pull my sleeve loose from around my wrist and let the card slide out, flipping it over while I drink what’s left of my beer, and that’s when karma slaps me like a bitch.

She’s older. Of course she’s older. She’s twenty-one, too. But she looks…older. She also looks the same. Nobody looks good in an ID photo. Emma Burke looks like a dream. Her brown hair is just as I remember it, long waves around her bright pink cheeks, lips that stretch into this sensuous smile. I don’t know if it’s sensuous to anyone else, but to me, it sure as fuck is.

It’s also cruel. I swear to god she’s mocking me in her picture, her eyes shining through and looking at me, calling me stupid, telling me what a chump I am for thinking I was some sort of hero or something.

She’s slapping me in the face for being good and decent to her.

Don’t worry, Emma. I won’t ever be good and decent to you again.

As much as I liked and enjoyed reading this book, Andrew and Emma's story wasn't as engaging as Owen and Kensi's. I think my main problem was the way they tell their stories. They tend to have long monologue it felt on and on and on all the time. And when I read a story where the main characters keep doing the wrong things, torture themselves and then regret it and moping around, it made the book feel longer to my liking and a bit boring.

It didn't mean that it wasn't a nice reading, though, not at all because I still liked Andrew and Emma and especially their heartbreaking story. Just like in Wild Reckless this is also touch heavy subjects; mental illness, domestic violence, self-destruction, and an illness I never heard of before, Hypoplasgic Left Heart Syndrome. For just this one single thing, I thank the author for bringing it to her story so that I know now, even if it's only a little bit, about it.

But unlike in Wild Reckless that didn't leave me curious of other characters, here I want to see more of Andrew's best friend and Emma's best friend's stories. I think they deserve their own stories and happy ending. And as much as it sounds weird, I also want to see more about Harley, Andrew's not-so-friend story. I think he is an interesting character who can make an interesting story.

4.75 stars!

I first fell in love with Andrew Harper when I met him in Wild Reckless, the book featuring his older brother Owen. I fell in love with him multiple times while reading Wicked Restless. There was just something about everything Emma and Andrew had to go through to find happiness with each other that touched me and I'm sure it'll touch you too.

Andrew is not unaffected by all the drama and fascination surrounding the Harper name. Things have been rough and tough, but he's always been the "good" Harper, even if everyone else thinks otherwise. When Emma moves to town, there's something about her that calls to him and while he knows she's something special, he also likes how she doesn't know about the scandals related to the Harpers. Once she does, it doesn't matter because she knows him and likes him for who he is.

Emma isn't without secrets of her own, but she's a sweet kid. I loved seeing her try new things and be adventurous. Andrew and Emma together as teenagers were so sweet. I loved seeing them together. There was an air of innocence around them. Even though they didn't get very far in their relationship, the bond between them was strong. I will admit to being devastated when things beyond their control separated them; I was heartbroken for them and hoped things would be resolved between them quickly.

However, when they met again, both were changed. Andrew was hurting and the sweetness in him was gone. He was so hard it hurt sometimes seeing him, especially since I knew how he had been, but when I came to know what it was that'd changed him, my heart wept for him. Yes he changed, but he had to in order to survive. I understood his anger and frustration when it came to Emma. I may not have liked some of what he did in his anger and need for revenge, but I knew why and understood his logic. Emma still had some of her youthful sweetness, but she was beginning to look at people and things around her and see not everything was as nice and good as it looked.

This book is about so much more than young love. It's about second chances, forgiveness, and fighting for what you want. It's touching, moving, and packed with emotion. Once I started reading, I didn't stop until the book was finished. I couldn't put it down. It was almost perfect. I would've liked more details about how things were handled for those who harmed Andrew and Emma. It seemed almost anticlimactic after all that had happened to them.

I've been anticipating Andrew's story from the first moment I met him. Ginger Scott delivered a story that fully realized his potential. If you're looking for a book where the hero will do anything for those he loves and a page turner with heart and substance, this book is for you. Just thinking about what Emma and Andrew experienced makes my chest tighten. On a happier note I was very happy to see Owen and Kensi doing so well. While I am sad to see the Harper Boys series end, I am already eagerly looking forward to Ginger Scott's next book.

Are you expecting a good read? well this is better than good and greater than great! The issues here are BIG Wow Ginger talk about tackling it all head on I'm one book. I thought about redemption for Emma and that did NOT come easy at all.

There are very important social issues here that I am glad were addressed and we'll just leave it there because I won't spoil it.

I am a huge fan of Ginger and this book turned up the angst. Good God I do love angst. I'm bowing at another accomplishment for you Love u

NOW
Did you guys read Wild Reckless yet? If not then go grab it here and then pre- order Wicked Reckless here. Now moving on to this book. Remember Andrew the youngest Harper brother? Well he has his own story to tell. This was probably the best Ginger Scott book ever! The angst from book one was turned up to high for this one.

I remember in book one when the Harper's had their life explained I felt bad for them because of their Mom. Their Mom worked so hard to provide for them, herself and her Dad. All of this while she is trying to get over her oldest son James' death. So when drugs and violence change the family forever, I felt like I loved Owen more. He has shown the image of tough but he wasn't too tough to me. I adored the way their life was portrayed.

Now that the spotlight is on Andrew, I was so happy, he was the smart kid. The emotions that describe Andrew really made me lose it a few times. He is in a GATE gifted and talented program, I think they call it Excel here, anyways he is brilliant, shy and so alone. I really had my little heart broken for him. Speaking of hearts, that is where the love of Emma comes in. Emma moved there a few months ago to be "closer to Chicago", whatever right? NO it has meaning for her and her family and then the same goes for Iowa.

This will totally make you love the traditional family structure. There is another love for me and that was Dwayne. Dwayne was the best Step-Dad he could be. For once I can say that someone came into a kids life and did exactly the right things. The character was loving, caring, communicative at his own pace. When you read the family scenes just think of how his support helped both Andrew and Owen.

More of my cheers is for bringing back the James memories.l Yes he was the bad Harper kid that just couldn't get help the help he desperately needed but didn't want. So another bravo for showing socially relevant issues that are real and not sugar coated politically correct views. Drugs are here and sometimes we can offer help but it wont be accepted.
I say read it and tell me if chapter 5 killed you too!

Scott produces stories that tighten my chest by making my heart feel bigger than it’s typical shriveled, black self. Wicked Restless, the second story in the Harper Brothers series, accomplished just that.

Andrew Harper has not had a silver spoon upbringing, anything but. His family has struggled with mental illness, suicide, drugs and crime. He’s been cast aside by the small town he lives in, labeled as trouble, despite never actually being in any. Few see past the sins of his last name. Until Emma.

But Emma’s life has not been easy either and she’s fighting for something much more than just respect. Emma’s trepidation at being open with Andrew about her life and their reckless attraction to one another lead to one mistake that changes the course of Andrew’s life. Turns him into what everyone in town always believed he was.

Andrew and Emma’s teenage love story was so sweet and innocent and all the things you want in a first love story.

The adult Andrew and Emma’s love story was nothing sweet or innocent.

Andrew is different. He’s hardened and bitter. I hated the grown Andrew at times and I really had to hold onto the moments that I loved with the younger Andrew. It wasn’t always easy. Many times I wanted to reach into my kindle, pull him out and throw him through a plate glass window. However, everything Andrew does, he does with heart. His intentions may be misguided and thriving on years of anger…but he’s passionate, regardless.

Emma is still very cautious and closed off, I really wanted her to be more of a fighter in every part of her life, but quiet and soft is just who she is and it’s what Andrew fell in love with, what he needed in his chaotic life. She’s the perfect girl for him.

Revenge is a bitter pill to swallow, so is forgiveness, and Wicked Restless is a story with both.

This story is sweet, then sad, then aggravating, then heart wrenching before Scott finally leaves you with a happily ever after. She runs you through the guantlet of emotions. I actually shed a few tears, which is SO unlike me, but there were some letters written pretty early on in the book and damn, that shit broke my heart.

I always feel satisfied at the end of a Ginger Scott but I’m also always left thinking she is one of the most underrated authors I’ve read. I’m glad I stumbled upon her and I hope you take a chance on her too.

I’m not really sure where to start with this review. I finished this book three days ago, I’ve given myself time to digest it, re-read it and yet I still can’t seem to figure out where to start. What can I say to sway you to read this book? What can I do to make you meet this incredible author? This book has left me speechless, so I guess I should just say what I need to say.

For me, it’s the rawness, the hunt— chasing something, taking something from someone, hurting them to get it, and not caring how they look lying on the ice in my wake. I don’t operate under those morals anywhere else. But I think, maybe, there’s a dark part of me that needs it. And I need to keep it on the ice.

I met Andrew in Wild Wreckless. He is Owen Harper’s quiet, unassuming, smart brother. Ginger Scott was brilliant in the way that she wrote him in that story because what I found in Andrew in Wicked Restless was nothing I had imagined he would be. I didn’t know where the author would take me in Andrew’s world so when I opened this book any preconceived notions I had of him flew out the window. What I found was a lonely and quiet boy who was still trying to find himself. He is trying to step out of Owen’s shadow, even though Owen isn’t around he still has that hanging over his head. Not to mention the curse of the Harper’s, the silent whispers of everyone’s judgement but everything changes when he meets Emma Burke.

Square dancing for an hour with Emma Burke is worth being pummeled in a thousand dodgeball games.

With Emma, Andrew begins to learn how to be free and learn to trust. He finds peace with Emma. Emma isn’t one to listen to whispers from her class mates and takes a chance on the “Bad-Boy” Andrew Harper. She begins to realize the label that Andrew wears is nothing more then a brand the town put on him and that he’s more genuine and caring then the world will even try to see. While things between them become heated and start moving forward, when life starts to fall in to place for these two, a terrible accident tears them apart. Flash forward five years and that’s when their real story begins. When their hate for the other begins to surface and they face off with each other. When the profound question that they never got to ask the other becomes too heavy, why?

“This isn’t from fighting, Emma. These scars… they’re from surviving,”

When I met Andrew in Wild Wreckless, I never gave him much thought. When Ginger said she was writing his story I almost wanted to ask her, “What will you do with this harmless character?” I didn’t ask the question because I knew that Ginger would definitely answer that question once I read the story. Every single character that Ginger writes is never simple or harmless. She has never written a character that was one dimensional. Owen Harper stole my heart with his story, but Andrew Harper not only took that he stole my breath as well. I loved that no matter how many times he was knocked down, took a beating, he never once blamed the world for his misgivings. The only person he hated was himself. The only person he loved more than his hate for himself, was Emma. His love for Hockey, his brother, his family, his best friend and the girl he lost were never bitter from the things he endured, He was genuine.

This story was an emotional ride that I hope I will never forget. I hope that one day my daughter will read these books and be as moved as I am. I have so much love for Ginger Scott’s writing. She knows how to write a story that I always remember. I always remember where I was when I read it, what I was listening to, and when I see the cover of those books those memories come flooding back.

Ginger Scott’s books are among my very favorite in the NA genre and when I had the opportunity to get my hands on her next book early, you know I dropped everything. This is book 2 in the Harper Boys series and it focuses on Andrew, Owen’s younger brother. Andrew hasn’t had an easy life…rumors and gossip have followed him everywhere because of his family’s history, and Owen has always tried to shelter him from it. It’s left him pretty isolated and lonely.

A chance meeting in gym of all places introduces him to Emma Burke… a girl he’s immediately drawn to, and can’t seem to resist. But Andrew is proof that one night can change everything.

First of all, I want to tell you all how much I adored Andrew… both in the first book and for most of book 2 here. Through the entire beginning he’s sweet and funny and totally a boy I would have looked twice at.

But the things that happen in this book change him in incredible ways and so I found my feelings for him changing a bit along the way too.

I’m going to tell you right now, there will be spoilerish items talked about here, so if you don’t want to know anything about this, then please don’t read any further.

While I sped through this book, unable to stop turning pages, I also felt that there was just something missing that I couldn’t put my finger on. I’m still struggling a bit to figure out what it was, but I think it’s because I didn’t fall quite as hard for Andrew as I have for some of Ginger’s other boys. While I desperately wanted Andrew’s story, I found myself missing a bit more of Owen in this story. I’ll explain a bit more on that…

Owen is the one who takes care of the family…. Does what he has to do to fix things and to make things better, so I found it really unfortunate that he wasn’t a bigger part of Andrew’s life, especially while he was in Lake Crest Boys Academy. I know he was disappointed, but knowing Andrew, knowing his history, I just felt like he would have been a bigger part of his life once he was released in making sure he was okay and we didn’t see that at all. In fact, we see a lot of pretty bad behavior from Andrew and it only gets worse once he knows Emma is in the picture again.

Emma to me was a bit bland. I didn’t really connect with her… that isn’t to mean I didn’t like her. I think I liked her fine, but I just found her boring, and I think I lost a bit of respect for her once I realized she was willing to move forward with Andrew despite the things that would mean for Lindsey.

So the bulk of this story is set in the future, after Andrew is released from the Boys Academy and he’s built up an incredible amount of anger towards Emma for taking the fall for her and then never hearing from her again, so I get his desire to hurt her… but he just lost me when he did the things he did to Lindsey. While it definitely showed how much he wanted some kind of revenge, it also was just a horrible thing to do to someone…and her best friend no less. I would find it hard to move forward with someone who could do that no matter the circumstances.

I have to also admit that I found a bit of the stuff in this story incredibly far-fetched and a bit too convenient when you finally get to the end of the story.

That said… I really do enjoy Ginger Scott’s writing style, and her story-telling is wonderful… remember I couldn’t put this down despite a few of the issues I had. Ultimately, I think it was harder for me to fall for Andrew as much as I have her other boys because of the things that he does during this story. It was definitely easy to empathize with him, but that doesn’t excuse some of his actions.

If you’re looking for some amazing NA you definitely need to grab Ginger’s books!

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I’m not even sure where to start this review. I openly and justifiably gush over every single one of Ginger’s books. She is the master of writing about first loves, and she writes the best first kiss scenes known to man. There is always some drama and her characters have depth and a meaningful back story. However Andrew Harpers story is a little more than that. There is so much angst it was actually ripping my heart out. While I am used to there being conflict and misunderstandings, there was actually ugliness in this story. Understandable ugliness, and it made the story that much greater. It is not often that you get to follow a relatively new author and read every one of their books as they come out and then get that one where you can actually feel their writing turn from greatness to excellence. That is what I felt reading this book. I have always felt that Ginger was great writer but something felt different, deeper, and greater with Andrew and Emma’s story. If you’ve read her previous works, you will know that this is a bold statement.

Andrew had a rough life growing up. As the baby of the Harper family, he has seen things that would break most people. When Emma walks into his life, she is like a ray of sunshine in his world filled with clouds. Emma has her own set of problems, and while she is completely enamored with him, she is unable to open her heart wholly to him. Their time together is short lived, as one night completely changes the course of both their lives. When things come full circle and their worlds collide five years later, neither of them is unscarred from the events of their past.

Andrew is so full of anger it is almost painful to watch. Some of the things he does to Emma are just downright cruel, however I found them to be understandable and relatable. He just wants her to feel as much pain as he does. Little does he know that Emma has had just as much pain and suffering in his absence. I found myself wanting to scream at the both of them to just shut up and listen to the other one. Their lack of real communication and stubbornness on both their parts led to more heartache. Both of their back stories are painful to read about, but just so stinking good at the same time.

This book will definitely give you all the feels. Like all of her other books, they get their own version of a HAE, but this book is really on another level. I truly can’t wait for everyone else to get the opportunity to read Andrew’s story.

5 STAR SPECTACULAR!

My girl Ginger has done it again! I cannot express how much I love this author! Her work is phenomenal and she is amazingly talented. I am so glad to have found her.

Where to start? Andrew...I'm speechless. Wow, he is...WOW. I LOVE HIM. I loved Owen and now Andrew also owns my heart. He's broken and hurt and cursed. He's also sweet and wonderful and loved. I felt his struggle with every word written. My heart bleeds for him and he is one of my all-time favorite characters ever! I want more of him; one book isn't enough. Well, maybe this can be considered 2 but even then, 2 is not enough.

Emma: Perfect. Well written character. Strong balance. Great female lead. Loved her!

This book captured my heart and took me on a splendid wicked ride. I was indeed restless and enraptured in it. I couldn't sleep and it consumed me. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I can only hope that Ginger finds it in her heart (and schedule) to grace us with another wonderful story that includes Andrew again. I will wait on pins and needles for it. I also firmly believe Trent deserves his own book. I feel very strongly about him. He was a great support character and should have his story told too. Lindsey? The same! She is wonderful and I want to know all about her happy ending.
