My (Mostly) Funny Romance #3

My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny

Rate this book
I will not think inappropriate thoughts about the nanny.

She’s just temporary. A momentary blip in my life.
Although I have to admit she’s quite attractive, as far as blips go.
She’s also the first person my son has ever actually liked, which has to count for something.

New plan: I will not… let myself get too attached to the nanny.

I’ve always been the kind of man to keep my plans flexible. Adaptation is key. Just like I’ve had to adapt to having a beautiful woman waiting for me when I get home every night.

Temporarily, of course.

My son deserves better than temporary. And I won’t dangle the prospect of a happy, complete family in front of him when I know the relationship wouldn’t last.

Because beneath the innocent, big doe eyes and the charming awkwardness, the nanny would turn out like the rest. She’d find some reason to leave. They all did.

So I’ll make one final amendment to the plan. Yes, I may think inappropriate thoughts about the nanny. I may get attached to the nanny. But I will not fall for the nanny.

And if I do, I will deny it until my cold, dead heart freezes over.

Author’s Note: Get out your safety goggles because this fiery nanny and swoon-worthy single dad are about to collide and the reaction is going to be explosive.

USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Penelope Bloom is taking her first flight into romantasy—and yes, there are dragons. After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.

Fun fact: “Penelope Bloom” started as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the family dog, Penelope—never meant to be anything serious. But then the books took off, and the name stuck. Behind the scenes, Penelope Bloom is actually a husband-and-wife team. He handles the writing; she edits, helps with brainstorming, and runs the reader-facing side of things (like social media and messages). So if you’ve chatted with “Penelope” online, you’ve likely been talking to her—with the author chiming in whenever needed. Together, they’ve built the voice readers know and love.

(So here it is. The review of My Most Embarrassing Read of the Year. [And I've read a lot of dreck so far so that's saying something.])

Let's put aside the fact that this is an overdone and trite storyline. A nanny and a daddy trying not to give in to their lust for each other. After all, it would be so inappropriate. Yet every thought in their tiny brains is about that lust. Boring. Oh, let's also put aside the fact that I downloaded this. I should have known better. There's no excuse.

I guess there's some value to the story in that the heroine is struggling to stay afloat in life after the death of her parents (who apparently had no life insurance or other financial provisions for any possible future calamities) leaves her as sole caretaker for her young brother. So she lucks into a job as well-paid nanny to the son of a rich and famous baseball player. He, of course, will have some baggage of his own. So will they or won't they find their HEA? Seemed doubtful for a while with stupid decisions from the heroine and unreasonable behavior from the hero. But, okay, it is a romance, so there'll be an HEA, deserved or not.

But here's what really gripes me. Authors who don't know their way around grammar. If you write books, shouldn't you be better than the average Joe or Jill at working with words? This author's grammar is so horrendous that she doesn't know a subject pronoun from a possessive from an object pronoun. Don't tell me that's not important. It darned well is, especially if you're a writer.

Here's what she does, and frequently:

The author writes: "I wondered what they'd talked about after Jack and I's encounter." Dear heavens! There is no word "I's" in the English language. That should be "Jack's and my encounter".

She writes, "Maybe that's why Griff and him have clicked so naturally." Can you say "him clicked"? I cannot.

Then there's "Every choice drew Nola and I into a ..." Can you say that a "choice drew I"? I hope not.

What about "...there's something personal between Nola and I...? Oh, good grief! That I should be a me.

This happens throughout the story. Reading it is worse than listening to nails scratching across a chalkboard. If you don't see anything wrong with a writer writing this badly, what can I say? I've been a teacher for decades and bemoan this kind of decline in writing competence.

So I'd like to give this book 0 stars just because of that "I's" in the first quote. No one who does that should write books, even if the book costs only 99 cents.

DNF @ 40% - I enjoyed Bloom’s Objects of Attraction series. They’re OTT funny dialogue & situations, but she owns it and they’re enjoyable.

I skipped the first two in this series because they aren’t tropes I generally enjoy. However, I *love* nanny tropes. So I dove in. Unfortunately, this didn’t really work for me.

The set up was kind of weak (Jack is so worried about his son that he plucks a complete stranger he’s known for 5 minutes to be the nanny) and then he’s paying her $10K/mo to take son to school and hang out in the afternoons? Also, somehow Nola is still working her waitressing job?

She has a dream to rent a space for a restaurant because it was her parents’ dream. Parents who didn’t leave a cent of savings or life insurance. So she starts planning that she’ll work a month or two then quit and move to Florida to run a restaurant?!?! What? How does that even work? $20K is not enough to even start a restaurant...much less keep it going.

Just under halfway and it’s almost all internal monologue about how hot they think the other is. What interaction they have is flirting or sexual innuendo. The reader barely knows these two - nothing in the story shows them getting to know each other...

There’s a few funny parts - but not enough to bring this to RomCom level. I finally gave up.

Another funny read that had me hooked. Jack & Nola are absolutely perfect for each other. Ben is absolutely adorable and Griff, the mischief he gets into is too funny. This is a funny, sweet and of course sexy read that everyone must read.

MAJOR DILF ALERT 😩😮‍💨🤭

Out of the entire series this one was probably my least fav only because it was really slow in the middle. BUT BOY DO I LOVE ME A DILF…AND A MLB DILF AT THAT 🥵 I loved how even though these can be definitely be read as a stand alone, we get glimpses of the other couples from all the other books and their life. These obviously not the most intellectual reads but they’re quick and a good laugh. Not to mention spicy…like really spicy.

This is a series and book 3 and I have read and enjoyed them all. The first book features Damon, a sports agent. The second book his brother, Chris. And this book is about Jack, who is Chris' teammate and Damons client. Jack is a single dad, to Ben and they meet Nola and her younger brother Griff one night and Ben and Griff hit it off so much that Jack ends up hiring her as Ben's nanny.

For about 55% of this story I absolutely adored this story. I loved Nola and I loved jack and I loved them together and I even understood Jack's fears and how he felt he had to fight the attraction. I loved the story by 55% but then things change with the ex coming into the picture and Jack becomes this huge idiot and while he never cheated on Nola I abhored how he started to treat her and some of the things he does made me feel like he might have as well cheated on her. Then he gets even stupider. By the end of the book I kinda hated him and felt Nola deserved so much better. The author tries to redeem him but he was such a jerk that I was done with him.

The good about this story is I really felt I knew and understood Nola and she provided some really great laughs in this story. I adored her best friends and I loved the two boys Ben and Griff and their connection. Jack was a guy I liked and I rooted for but as the book went by I felt he treated Nola terribly and was a coward at times. I started to hate him especially with how awful he was to Nola. I never got over how terribly he treated her. I really have enjoyed this eries and the authors writing but Jack had none of the charm Damon and Chris had.

A baseball ⚾️ star and his “temporary” nanny😜

Oh my gosh I just loved this story, it had a wonderful storyline, great characters but it was also funny which made my morning simply fly by because I was loving it so much❣️

Nola is working as a waitress at a job that pays minimum wage and looking after her brother - who is the devil incarnate 😈😂 When an opportunity presents itself to look after Jack’s son, so he can play ball - they could’ve never guessed what kind of adventure this simple opportunity would deliver😍

A not to be missed story that is filled with everything one would expect from a Penelope Bloom rom com❤️ I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and I voluntarily leave my honest review😁

Another funny and sexy romantic comedy in the My Mostly Funny Romance series. I adored this story and found myself laughing out loud quite a bit.

Nola has custody of her little brother, Griff, and becomes a nanny for Ben who is the son of Jack, a MLB pitcher and single dad. The little boys get along great and Nola and Jack have an attraction to each other. She's only supposed to be temporary, but Jack is changing his mind.

My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny by Penelope Bloom was a cute read. I liked the humor so much. I couldn't help but giggle a few times. I liked that Jack was such a klutz despite being a professional athlete. I loved both characters. I loved Nola's mischievous side, and I loved her name especially. I'm not sure I appreciated her two best friends at all but it's neither here nor there. Same goes for Jack's friends too. The friendships seemed a bit superficial but fortunately weren't in the focal point so I let my dislike go. There was a bit too much insecurity for my liking from both characters almost to the very end but without it the story would have missed a few funny moments, so it was all good.
I liked this quick light funny romance.

Zany Comedy & Steamy Chemistry Abound In Jack & Nola’s Grumpy Boss Story! Six-Year-Olds Ben And Griff Add To The Mischief, But They Also Add To The Stakes At Risk As The MLB Pitcher & His Nanny Consider Taking Things To The Next Step.

This is the third book in My (Mostly) Funny Romance series. Fans will love to see that the Rose brothers, whose stories are in books one and two, play a role here as well. Damon and Chris are both true to character, and Chris cannot help but stand out as the crazy ADHD bumbling genius that he is. Don’t forget to download the free bonus scenes via the link at the back of the book! It takes place sometime following the close of this book. While it takes minutes to read, it still garners a laugh (thanks to Chris again). It also includes an author’s note about the series and what is to come.

As a quick review, book one, My (Mostly) Secret Baby, is Damon Rose and Chelsea Cross’s story. Damon started Rose Athletic Representatives in NYC to help save his younger brother from himself. Between the antics that have Chris Rose floating from crisis to crisis and his naivete about the business, Chris’s career longevity and future security are constantly in doubt. Hence Damon stepped up to ensure that his brother’s standing as the most famous and successful QB in the league remains in tact. Chelsea Cross is a has been tennis player who has hit hard times. She reluctantly turns to Rose Athletics and applies for a job, simultaneously wondering if Damon Rose might be worthy of learning her secret. In book two, My (Mostly) Fake Wedding, Damon’s brother Chris gets his own story with wedding planner Belle Waters. Damon and Chelsea are now married, and their daughter Luna, six, has been in Damon’s life for one year. Chris is in trouble again if he doesn’t do something about his bad reputation, and his contract is coming up for renewal. Damon arranges a solution to the problem, if only Chris can stick to the plan. Zany humor and laugh out loud moments abound as the troublemaking NFL quarterback finds himself hooked on his fake wedding planner.

This story opens in NYC just under a year later. Luna, Damon Chelsea’s daughter, is approaching her seventh birthday and Chris is anxious as Belle approaches her due date.

Nola Castille, early twenties, is a scatterbrain and prone to babbling without a filter. Her life was turned upside down three years ago when her parents died in an accident. Instead of parties and fun times like others her age, she barely stays afloat working as a waitress while raising her six-year-old brother Griff. While she loves him, Griff is no ordinary child. He has a penchant for pranks. He is only in kindergarten, but he has already been suspended from school and the road ahead bodes to be a challenge. Frazzled by her little demon and financial strain, she nevertheless remains optimistic while devoting herself to raising Griff. There is one dream she hopes to fulfill one day – a dream that had belonged to her parents. She hopes to keep their memory alive by opening the little restaurant in Florida that they had their hearts set on before their untimely death.

Jack Kerrigan, roughly twenty-four, is not impressed by money and fame. The cranky mountain of a man is the hottest MLB pitcher in the league, and his agent Damon Rose is not about to let him throw it all away. Jack is at a crossroads as the season is two weeks from starting. He announced he is walking away for a year or two to spend more time with his son six-year-old son Ben, confident in athletic skills and his ability to return to the game whenever he chooses. Ben has become increasingly withdrawn despite Jack’s efforts to engage him. He drags Ben to games and practice but the boy has no interest in sports. He has trouble making friends at school. Drawing is his only interest and he isn’t much for talking. Jack reluctantly agrees to meet Damon and Chris, his college buddy, at a diner to discuss some alternative ideas that will satisfy Jack and allow Damen to negotiate a new deal for him to play this season. Jack is adamant about his decision until that fateful meeting.

When Jack enters the diner, Nola is drawn to the inked and bearded giant. And she cannot help but note the contrast between him and the tiny boy in tow. His troubled expression speaks to her grief and hardship, and she finds his klutziness adorable. Jack finds himself attracted to the ditzy and rambling redhead waitress, but he has no interest in women now. He needs to give Ben all his attention. It is bad enough that his son doesn’t have his mom. Relationships end, and Ben is too fragile to have his hopes ride on transient mother figures. But when he sees that Ben has snuck away and made friends with the pretty waitress’s son, his plans suddenly change.

When Jack hires Nola as Ben’s nanny and returns to work, everything seems to fall into place. Ben begins to come out of his shell, he and Griff form a miraculous friendship, and Jack and Nola feel a pull that seems inevitable. But Jack’s priority is Ben, and he cannot mess things up for his son by starting anything with the nanny. A nanny can stay indefinitely, after all, but relationships end. And Nola is faced with a dilemma as she weighs her parents’ dream of Florida against the possibility of a relationship with Jack. Everything gets even more complicated, however, when the past makes a reappearance.

Jack and Nola’s story is enriched by Ben and Griff. The boys’ characters are unique, and their darling friendship is a case of opposites attracting. All four characters suffer from a sense of loss and abandonment. Jack and Ben feel the loss of Ben’s mother in his life, and Nola and Griff grieve for their parents and the comfort of family. Jack channeled his feelings into raising Ben, as did Nola with Griff. But while Ben turned inward in his abandonment, Griff turned to trouble. Nola’s presence in Jack’s life is freshening, and the boys both thrive, but they both have issues to resolve is they want to consider the possibility trying something more.

Zany comedy and steamy chemistry abound in Jack and Nola’s grumpy boss story. Six-year-olds Ben and Griff add to the mischief, but they also add to the stakes at risk as the MLB pitcher and his nanny consider taking things to the next step. By my count there are twenty-six laugh out loud moments, most of which are in the first half. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are wonderfully crafted and colorful. The boys are a wonderful addition, but a number of very minor characters continue to come to mind – such as the baker and the elderly babysitter. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Jack and Nola, with one adorable chapter in Ben’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

Barely - RECOMMEND (begrudgingly)

Lustmance. Somebody copied someone else’s book or this author has a nom de plume because I have read this book before and it wasn’t this book. I just can’t get with the whole he gets to flip the script on her and/or somehow his feelings matter more than hers . There’s also this absolute lack of respect and inability to communicate but blame and accusation is easy.
SEX SCENES - Yes. Typical and not unique. One very bothersome one is when he lies to his son about their taking a nap and locks the bedroom door so he and the female lead can have sex in the shower. Locks his 5 yo son out and leaves him alone in the apt so the leads can have sex!!! Yet he’s supposed to be all about his son so much so he would put his baseball career on hold but not when it’s sex in the shower. WTF!

DNF @70%. I was listening to this one on audio so the grammar issues weren’t that big of a deal for me. I just could not connect to these characters at all. Their personalities were very flat and I didn’t understand the attraction. The last straw for me was Nola deciding to enter a relationship with Jack while also keeping from him the fact that she planned to move away in two months. Not a big deal if there weren’t two small children involved who this would obviously hurt. I don’t like that lie. It was obviously thrown in to be a conflict, but it made me feel icky.

I also just read like 3 really good books in the last couple days so that could be part of why this one fell so flat by comparison.

Nothing in life worth having is ever easy, and nothing worth keeping is just handed to you. No, sometimes you have to chase it away before you find yourself fighting to get it back.

She is the sole caregiver to her much younger brother, a waitress in a small diner, and working to make a dream come true, only it isn’t even her dream. He is a single father, a professional baseball player, and willing to leave it all behind just to help his son not be so withdrawn.

A meeting with his agent and his good friend in that little out of the way diner was supposed to be when Jack informs them of his decision to leave baseball to be with his son. There wasn’t supposed to be a hot waitress tempting him. Just when all seems okay, his klutzy move causes a spill, and that hot waitress was only trying to help, but oh man!

Nola is now sitting in the sports agent’s office, along with the other two gorgeous men from the other night at the dine. That embarrassing moment keeps replaying in her head, she just needs to focus… She is being offered a nanny position, when she is asked how much she would need to take this position. She offhandedly gives a number, it is pretty basic to her exact amount due each month for bills, rent, and groceries. She figures the figure is too much, but Jack offers way more than she requested. It now begins.

There is so much electricity between Jack and Nola from the very beginning. It takes a misspelled word in a text to allow what is about to happen. Everything they have been trying so hard to ignore and hold back on has just been opened and acted on, in all the hottest of ways.
At the same time fate brings in a person from the not so distant past. Jealousy and insecurity being the only reason (and not the real reason she should be reappearing) have just forced a secret to be exposed. The problem is, even though this was a real thing before, with everything happening between Jack and Nola, this is not even a thing anymore. Anger and hurt are the driving force behind the harsh words, not to mention the actions taken in response to them. Everything is so upside down and sideways. All attempts made to reconcile seem to be hopeless. Time to forget this happened and move on.

There are the characters from the first two books who make a number of appearances throughout this book, all of which are brought in to help. It is when the goofball football player (and good friend) makes a very good point, and one that actually hits home (pun intended.) It is just the beginning needed to mend these two and set them on the way to their happily ever after.

So many things to mention from the start of this book. You really do find yourself laughing out loud, doing a few eye rolls, and you even catch yourself saying “aw, c’mon” a few times all the way through.

Penelope Bloom has always been one of my go-to authors for rom coms and she didn't disappoint with My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny. This is book #3 in the My Mostly Funny Romance series, and while read as a standalone, the other characters in this story are from books 1 and 2.
In this story, Nola is a young waitress and sole guardian of her younger 6 year old brother. Having lived a hard life and struggling with both work and parental duties, she gets all flustered the moment Jack walks into her diner with his agent and son and accidentally spills a soda on his pants.
Jack has just relocated to a new city and wants to put his baseball career on hold so that he can focus on his son. When his agent suggests hiring the waitress from the diner he is all in, but only because of the way his son interacted with the young boy, nothing else. Or so he keeps telling himself.
The more Jack and Nola spend time together, the more attracted they become to one another, but Jack is afraid to let another woman in after what his ex put him through. Not only that, but Nola is great with his son and he can see that his son is slowly coming out of his shell. If their relationship goes south, it may cause his son to withdraw again. He needs to put his son first.
The money Nola has made from being a Nanny is almost enough for her to start the dream her parents always wanted. Starting the restaurant in Florida is how she wants to honor them and keep them alive, but with Jack in the picture what will she do? Will she go to Florida as she always planned or will she pick Jack? And what will Jack do? Will he let another woman into his heart?
This story was funny and sweet. Both have their own insecurities but will that deter them from having a happily ever after?
I thought Penelope Bloom did a good job writing this book. As always, it had me laughing out at some parts and swooning at others. Can't wait to see what she writes next

Jack, Ben, Nola, Griff, and the whole gang

The Grumpy Boss Romantic book 3 is the last of Penelope Bloom series. Ms. Bloom’s creations are funny, touching, laugh at loud, sexy books.

Your favorite characters are back, Chris the handsome pro quarterback, his older brother Damon the head of the Sport agencies, their brides too. The book begins with Nola, a strong, young woman who lost her parents and she’s taking care of Griff, her younger brother who actually gets suspended from Kindergarten. Working as a waitress to support them, she had a dream, to open a restaurant in Florida. It wasn’t her dream but her parents, but, Nola was determine to make it happen!

Jack, who was Chris’s college roommate, was a Pro Baseball player. Never drafted but a pitching sensation that was turning the league upside down. Damon, his agent was concerned, Jack planned to take a year or 2 off to raise his son. Be sure to enjoy his backstory, especially about Ben’s birth mother. Ben was a very shy, 4 yr old artist, who had become too quiet, locking himself away in his drawings. Jack knew and promised to do whatever was needed to help his son.

It was Chris’s idea to find a nanny for Ben. The problem for Damon was convincing Jack to do it, give it try, and not walk away from his pitching career.

Jack and Nola meet at the restaurant she was working at, the place Chris and Damon took him, the place to convince to try a nanny.

The meet was cute, funny, and successful. Somehow the disaster ended with Nola getting a great paid job, Griff made a friend in Ben, and Jack staying in baseball.

Enjoy reading how Jack and Nola tip toe around each other trying to avoid their mutual physical attraction. Among other things Chris the football player surprisedly ask for advice and finds he business talents.

I hope there’s more books written with these wonderful characters. I hope you enjoin this book as much as I did. Stay safe.

What I Liked: I thought this was an entertaining and engaging romance. It’s funny in parts and has an easy to follow, very low-angst storyline.
The two main characters were good, I thought they both had good chemistry together and the sex scenes were well-written. I particularly liked how they met
What I Didn’t: The ending was a bit repetitive and dragged out I also thought some of the stuff around felt really rushed and unrealistic
Similarly, the
Finally,
Overall: For the most part this was an enjoyable romance book that I had good fun reading, but the ending let it down a little bit.
Would I Recommend It?: Yes, if you want a fun single-dad, boss/employee romance with a grumpy/sunshine dynamic.
Would I Read Something By The Author Again?: Yes.

This is the 3rd story in this funny and romantic series - My (Mostly) Funny Series. In this story we get to see Jack a MLB pitcher go through his journey to finding happiness for his son, Ben and himself. Prior to the start of the season Jack is deciding on not pitching as his son has been withdrawing and Ben is his #1 priority. So he has a meeting with his agent Damon and Chris his brother tags along at a restaurant outside of town. When Nola go’s over to their table they are a bit short with her so she gets them back with their order when they tell her to give them food to fill up 3 men! Nola’s humor is right there with Chris’s craziness. Ben goes missing from the table and ends up with another young boy, Griff, Nola’s younger brother and they have an instant friendship. Nola lost her parents and has been raising her young brother on her own with the dream to move to Florida and open a restaurant as it was her parents dreams. When Nola is given an offer to be Ben’s nanny she is shocked with the offer and accepts knowing she needs the money to accomplish her goals. Both Nola and Jack have feelings for one another and over a misunderstood text do they realize they both want one another and take the chance of a relationship. They have their ups and downs and Ben and Griff rub off on one another and they are funny when they get together. When Nola makes a decision to move on with her broken heart Jack does the unthinkable and shows Nola exactly what he thinks of her and the boys! You never know how hilarious these stories are until you read them, they are a gem to read as they will bring you happiness and love in true form! Be prepared to laugh and have your husband look at you funny while reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Penelope Bloom is my go-to girl for wonderful Rom-Com stories. My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny is the latest in her repertoire of over the top hilarious books. I just love all of Bloom’s stories and have gone back and reread many of them because they are so entertaining and enjoyable. My husband often looks at me like I have lost my mind when I sit on the couch reading one of Bloom’s books. I often laugh out loud and then feel the need to read passages to him that made me laugh. Yes, in case you’re wondering he usually laughs right along with me. I was truly delighted with this read and can’t wait for the next book to come out. 5-homeruns for My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny by Penelope Bloom.

Jack Kerrigan either needed to take time off from baseball or find a solution that would help with his son Ben. Jack loved his job, but he loved his son more. Upon meeting a very spirited redheaded waitress he thinks he has found the answer to his problem. A nanny just might be what Jack needs to help his son and keep his career. Nola Castille has dreams but waiting tables at someone else’s restaurant isn’t one of them. When Nola is offered a job that pays out of this world, she would be crazy not to take it. Now that Nola has Jack as her boss and her little brother Griff has Ben as a friend there shouldn’t be a problem. It is only a matter of time till Jack and Nola can no longer hide their attraction to each other. But how could he possibly open the door for one more woman to abandon them and leave them brokenhearted? Can Jack risk breaking his son’s heart if Nola left them or should he just this once let himself have something that he wants, consequences be damned?

My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny is the third book in the My (Mostly) Funny Romance series. Jack is on the verge of stepping away from his professional baseball career to care for his son when Nola stumbles into his path. Tasked to care for his son, she starts to fall for all of the possibilities that could come between her and Jack, his son and her brother, but will past dreams and bad history on both sides turn their happy days into something just temporary?

I really enjoyed reading this book! I loved the connection you can feel between Jack and Nola, even when both of them are trying to push the other away, but they can’t help but crave the other! Nola was so sweet, caring, always putting others above herself, and I loved that she took care of her younger brother. I loved that she was goofy, kind of all over the place at times, but was willing to fight when she could. Jack was like a prickly cactus on the outside, pretty grumpy and didn’t let many close, especially when it concerned his son. But I loved that he slowly became gooey caramel the more time he spent with Nola. The boys were so stinking cute together, and I loved the Home Alone scenes! I loved that Nola took the first steps to try to bring them closer together, but that they both made mistakes trying to protect their hearts and their loved ones. I was definitely giggling during scenes in this book, but could also feel moments of my heart being tugged on, too! I enjoyed this book and have been loving this series!

Once again, the author has written a wonderfully funny book that lets the reader laugh out loud while falling in love with the characters who are so easy to like. In this story, Jack is a professional baseball player. He is frustrated with trying to balance his work life career with his family life of being a single parent for his son, Ben. In a kneejerk reaction, he thinks he has no other option than to quit the game and be a full-time dad. Fortunately his agent suggests hiring a nanny to see how that works out.

Nola has been taking care of her brother, Griff, and is having a hard time keeping afloat. Getting a nanny offer seems like a great solution for her to be paid for what she is already doing anyway for her brother. When they are bantering back and forth, things seem fairly safe. Yet each is moving into comfort and trust in the other and they need to put a hard stop to it or decide where they want to take their new feelings.

This was a wonderful, laughable, sweet story that will fill your heart with love. The relationships between Nola and Jack and between both of them and the children is very comfortable. Grab your copy and see what they decide to do about their almost-families. All they need to do is talk to each other and their plans may both be heading in the right direction… together!

Love it – I can’t get enough! This is about Nola, Jack, Griff and Ben. As always know that you will be laughing from start to finish. There will be sad moments in this, but overall, it is a wondaful book from Penelope. Nola is a woman who has overseen her little brother, Griff, since both of her parents died in a car accident. She first meets Jack where she works as he walks in there with Damon and Chris Rose, who is his agent and friends.

Jack has his son, Ben, with him as he is his priority and the reason he was meeting with Damon and Chris is because he was thinking of taking time off in order to focus on his son. His son ends up meeting Griff there and starts talking to him and drawing when Nola accidentally spills something on Jack and is trying to wipe it off on her knees!!!! Well Damon thinks that she will be the best choice for him not to leave the league as he could hire her as his nanny. On the other hand, Nola does not plan to stay there forever as she wants to live out her parents dream in Florida. The story keeps you intrigue wanting to see what happens next – there is a bit of drama there with the poor excuse of a mother (Ben’s).

My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny is the third book in this hilarious series which follows MBL star pitcher Jack Kerrigan and his nanny Nola Castille. While I absolutely loved Damon and Chris Rose (from the first two books) I loved Jack just a little bit more because of his devotion to his son, Ben. Nola has had a rough three years following the death of her parents and her sole guardianship of her young brother, Griff. After Jack and the Rose bothers “meet” Nola at the restaurant she waitresses at, Nola is offered the chance of a life time. Jack is a single dad doing everything he can to give his son the best possible life, therefore, makes great sacrifices to ensure his son has stability in his life. Nola has chosen to follow through with her parent’s dream but can’t help feeling happy and alive when she is with Jack and the boys. What made me fall in love with this book was the deep friendship within Ben and Griff and Jack and Nola’s commitment to the kids. Penelope Bloom’s style of writing always leaves me laughing out loud and craving more! There was not a dull moment throughout the book; this read is a 10/10.
