Hell Hath No Fury…
The mark that Heston Wilcox made on Preston Prep was more like a wound that took ages to heal.
He’s a bully. A manipulator. A sociopath.
And he’s finally been stopped by the group of Preston girls who turned him in.
Or at least that’s what Georgia Haynes thought happened to the boy—now a man—who ruined her life. But evil that deep has a way of lingering, and apparently Heston is no different.
Just when she thought it was safe, her worst nightmare is back, and he wants revenge.
The problem for Heston is that she does, too.
Who will get it first?
Hell Hath No Fury Like a Devil Scorned.

2.5 stars, rounded up because a lot of this is 'it's not you, it's me.'

I went into this without having read any of the three books which precede this one in the series. I didn't think that would be an issue, because I often read books out of order (I read the HARRY POTTER SERIES out of order! And that's so interconnected) and when the couples are all different, it's usually fine. But it wasn't really fine in this case. Though there's a prologue which seems to give a summary of the protagonists' first proper interaction, I could never shake the feeling that in the intervening three/four years a lot went down that I didn't know about. And that knocked my enjoyment, but it's definitely a me problem and not the book.

Speaking of the prologue, that features hero Heston having rough sex with heroine Georgia, filming it without her consent, and spreading the video around school (her face is hidden). From what I've inferred, she tells the authorities and that gets him put away, but the next thing I knew, he was out doing community service... at her school? As a swimming instructor? This didn't make any sense to me. Surely the ABSOLUTE LAST PLACE he would be allowed to go for community service, bearing in mind he's now a sex offender or whatever, is the school of underage pupils attended by the very same girl who accused him? And then Georgia's swimming teacher forces her to be tutored by Heston??? I don't know if the teacher is aware that Georgia is the accuser, but presumably he knows Heston is a criminal - probably he even knows what the crime is. Letting him be alone with a pair of students was levels of unrealism I just couldn't take.

One very small other note about the swimming thing before I move on. A character described as 'genderfluid', who is referred to with male pronouns, is given the option by the swimming teacher of changing in either the male or female changing room (or an office). While this is a small scene, I just want to say here that for religious reasons, I personally couldn't share a changing room with a male-bodied student. It's not mentioned, but I would hope the swimming coach had informed the female students that there might be a possibility of this happening, so they could make alternative changing arrangements if they needed to. But like I said, this is just a tiny scene, so I understand that all the implications etc of a throwaway line wouldn't be addressed in the text.

My other big issue is that I felt the book was way too long. It's about 170k words which is... wow. To the authors' credit, the prose flows smoothly and easily, but after a while it felt like there was way too much unnecessary material to wade through and I started to skim-read.

Regarding the hero - it seems Heston is the antihero of the series. Which is fine, you know, I love my antiheroes. Filming the heroine without her consent? Doesn't faze me. But what I do expect is a hero who's completely invested in the heroine, otherwise the 'antihero' aspect doesn't work for me. And I know I'm not alone here - I think the sheer popularity of books like The Silver Devil and these authors' other series, Lords of Pain, suggests that a LOT of readers will tolerate significantly problematic heroes as long as we feel like the hero is all-out obsessed with the heroine. I didn't really feel that here. When he has sex with her for the first time in the prologue, we don't get the impression that it really meant much to him, and she only comes back into his life accidentally - he arranged a hook-up with her when he thought she was someone else. I'm not a fan. So for safety fans, yes there's a separation and neither of them are celibate. I don't necessarily need that to enjoy a book, but I did expect their first time together to be meaningful to him in some way.

I'm also not a fan of established antiheroes being completely rehabilitated at the end of the book so they're all nice and cuddly. I'm exaggerating here a bit, he doesn't quite become nice and cuddly, but what I mean is - if a character is known for being selfish/mean to others, I don't want every single one of their interpersonal relationships to be healed at the end. (Note: when I cite these things, I obviously don't mean about the hero treating the heroine this way. He of course needs to have a character arc if he's going to be worthy of her. A good example of what I mean here is Lothaire in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series; he's the series villain even after his book finishes. Falling in love doesn't mean he patches up his differences with everyone else).

So, what did I like? As I've said, the technical elements of the writing are awesome. Georgia also has a sex addiction which I think is explored very fascinatingly - certainly it's nice to see a heroine with this issue for once, rather than the hero. And I liked that, at the end, she didn't forgive Heston too easily. All those things mean I rounded up.

I needed it. I wanted it...

This book. A wonderful story of healing of two broken, complementary souls — Heston, an entitled jerk, and Georgia, sensitive, hurt, almost debilitated. After Heston’s public release of a sex video, this story explores addictions and their destructive effects, growth, as well as a couple’s journey to love after Heston’s emotional betrayal of Georgia and her mental and his psychosomatic breakdown.

A touch of secret society, this new adult romance was set in high school, but portrayed maturer than its age. I had to suspend disbelief both in the communication and setting, which felt more college level. I also found it difficult to reconcile Heston’s placement as a swim coach with the circumstances of his past. Still, while not necessarily authentic to its mature themes, the story was worth making allowances.

The writing was stellar. This is the first book where I felt as if I were resident in the minds of the main characters, seeing life as they lived it, hearing their words as they spoke or thought them, making their gestures. The plot line played out as more than visualization; rather, I was living the story. I experienced their highs and lows, lived through their interactions — a very moving experience. The lengthy read allowed for each of the characters’ self-actualization underscored with their pain, growth, and blossoming love.

A particular touching read from Heston’s devolving to rock bottom, the story played on emotions as you discover there is more to a perceived character than what is visible on the surface. Likewise Georgia’s misaligned perception and treatment contributed to her conflict of self-distain and insecurity. Everyone had a vice for how they managed difficulty. Overall though this was also more a story about Heston than Georgia as we mostly get to the root of his issues, but not so much hers, the whys and hows. Both became resolute, however, and learned to manage traits that in the end remained flawed. But I still had questions.

A lengthier story that merited it. Pace was appropriate, content contributing to progress, character development and growth, and importantly love. Meanwhile, this couple’s heat…

Steam, fireworks, variety? This book delivers! Love scenes were not only hotly descriptive — they were on fire — and well-balanced within the sometimes emotional toils of the story. Steam level was 10/10, frequent and excellently interwoven. The sex also highlighted the pain of societal double standards amid destructive behavior. The emotional introspection elicited in this tale was rich.

Besides the bittersweetness of this story, it was the ultimate in hilarity. I laughed so hard from characters’ thoughts, personal commentaries as well as their antics and exchanges. Honestly, were it not for some of the dark themes and the emotional upheaval in the storyline, I might have felt as if I were reading a romantic comedy. Consider Micha, a true satirical instigator, and Heston’s sardonic humor, I was crying tears of laughter from their behavior. I could barely catch my breath laughing at the sparkle bomb incident. Excellent writing and character connection were keys to my amusement.

A story of growth wrapped in mature themes and balanced with dark humor, this was one of the better books I’ve read this year. Lengthier for sure, but every word played significance to an astounding storyline delivered with amazing feeling. What a touching happily ever after.

I have absolutely loathed and hated Heston Wilcox for three books. He is the scum that grows on pond scum at the bottom of a scummy lake. He is the absolute worst and he feels absolutely no remorse for what he does or how he treats others, especially girls. I may or may not have been a bit gleeful when he met his down fall in the last book and knew it was going to be incredibly hard to find any redeeming qualities in him. Then I read this book. I still hated him for a while. Then I began to pity him. By the end, I realized that I even kind of liked him. This was a challenge for me because he is the Devil and I knew that he didn't deserve Georgia. But then I read them together. Together they begin to smooth each other's rough edges. They begin to face their challenges together and Heston finally begins to learn how to be a decent human being. It takes a lot of knocks to his pride and ego, but he eventually gets there. While Heston is still not my favorite guy, this book has become my new favorite in the series. Just as a warning: This book deals with some pretty heavy issues such as mental health, addictions, sexual issues, and other things that might be triggering to some readers. The authors put an amazing note at the beginning that details a lot of the things you will find in this book. If any of these things triggers you, then do not read this book.

I actually liked Heston and rooted for him. I did not see that one coming. I hated him in previous books.
And Georgia, although I would not call her boring, I simply did not care about her. Now that we got to
know them, I loved them both, and I loved them together.
Although the setup of the book is unbelievably unrealistic (in no way would Heston ever be allowed to
be near a school again, let alone teach at one), the story itself was interesting.

Oh, and the book covers for the whole series were just the worst ever! Beyond cliché, it's just sad they could not come up with something better than the half-naked guy on the cover. Just sad…

I loved it! I loved it! I loved it!

Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue are fastly becoming one of my favorite author duos! This book was pretty lengthy and that usually deters me. But to those easily turned off by a longer book--DO NOT LET IT DETER YOU cause even being close to 500 pages, I wanted more! The authors have sucked me into this world and I can't get enough! I'm invested now! I'm invested in the characters, side characters, and their families!

I honestly feel like by the end of the year this book will be in my top 5 at least! Heston and Georgia are hands down my favorite couple in the series. The CHEMISTRY between them was just off the charts HOT! The authors don't mess around when it comes to sexy time and there is plenty of it in this story.

I'm excited to see what Lawson and Rue bring to us next.. maybe a short story within the Boys of Preston Prep series OR Lords of Rath this summer!

This is literally so close to a 5⭐️ for me but 4.8⭐️ for now because I could not put this down for a single second😭😭

I love HestonGeorgia with all my heart with the way they perfectly fit eo and worked together to help eo out until the very end. They were in fact super toxic at first and unknowingly started becoming soft as the plot progresses. I think Samgel did a great job of redeeming Heston for me and how his struggles caught up to him. You kinda started pitying him like a lot of the characters did along the way and see his journey as he started falling for Georgia. I love how he gave up everything and tried to fix his mistakes for her at the end💕💕 Also Georgia was such ugh I love her! She is like my fave fmc of the series like she is such a badass and softie at the same time. She is a strong-willed person and is def not afraid to go after what or who she wants. Her addiction was so tragic to read about but her slowly healing was amazing too. I also enjoyed the little glimpses of the other couples esp HamiltonGwen bc they are my fave couple for sure and Hamilton is always catching strays in each book lmao. Overall, literally every book in this series was a hit for me and I did not expect it at all

I'm liking this book.

I really really liked the prologue. Despite what authors nowadays think, Georgia was the real "normal" girl in a high school setting. Maybe not all of us are as free with sex but all of us would be flattered if a famous, handsome senior showed interest in us.

That's normal.

And I appreciate that representation.

–––——
Now, for the rest of the book

I'm not really sold on the forced proximity thing. Georgia and Micha are just being brats. Why can't they take the normal lessons? It trivializes the gravity of what Heston did.

And I find the circumstances of Heston's presence there even more sus. No one but Heston(and his associates) is showed in a remotely currupt light yet somehow these upstanding citizens orchestrated for a convicted sex offender to spend his prabation on school grounds working privately with an emotionally unstable girl, who's been his victim, and a trans boy, who's also been his victim.

¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯

SIDE NOTE: I hate the complete black and white approach of authors, specially in dark romances. Since they've already shown all the existing characters as good guys they can't possibly be bad to anyone for anything. There were many times that Heston alluded to Sebastian being shady but the author never elaborated.

I didn't complete Sebastian's book(It was boring) but I do remember his home life getting more importance than either of the MCs in this book got. Georgia never fully confronted her parents on their apathy and despite various allusions the situation with Heston's parents was also left halfway.

Overall the book just didn't have as many moments of gratification as I wanted. I wanted Heston's father to be punished in some way for the asshole he was, I wanted the older characters (specially Sebastian) to be brought down their high horses, I wanted Georgia to confront her parents and also humiliate that family who insulted her at pagent.

But alas, it wasn't meant to be!

This freaking amazing book!!!

Holy holy oh my gosh! This freaking amazing book! It had me holding my breath the entire time. I was so excited to see how Angel and Samantha would write Heston as he has been causing trouble since book one in the series! I have never loathed and loved a character as much as I do Heston Wilcox! What a rollercoaster of emotions this guy took me on, but heck it was so entertaining!

When I saw Heston was getting a book I was shocked but so excited. Angel and Samantha write good bad guys who eventually get redeemed. However, I didn’t know how Heston would refer himself at all. I mean, he is the ultimate jerk, actually that isn’t good enough he is awful, but man did I change my mind about him in this book and now love him. He is flawed, this book showed his growth and change which was entertaining to read. With Heston I wasn’t sure anything could break his selfishness until Georgia. And Georgia, this girl is fierce, and misunderstood and real. She is flawed and fascinating. I felt for her. I worried about her, but also I loved the pull and push she and Heston had throughout the entire book with one another!

Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue are a powerhouse duo! Their writing takes you on a fantastic pleasurable (pun intended 😜)journey, one you never want to stray away from! Their books are captivating, dark, steamy as all heck and entertaining. They aren’t afraid to write about real life issues, that need to be addressed. This book was phenomenal! It had so many “where is this story going” moments! I absolutely loved it! This is a must read! Get ready to go on a journey with Heston and Georgia, they will have you shocked and swooning throughout the entire book!

HOW IS IT OVER???????

Honestly though... how have I breezed through this incredible series already? Like I’m seriously devastated that I’ll have to step away from this world. I miss my Devils already!

Heston Wilcox is a jerk. Plain and simple. Angel and Sam gave me three books worth of reasons to hate the guy, and they accomplished that mission. Wonderfully, I might add. That’s how I knew I would fall, and fall hard, for him. And I totally did. Heston surprised me in ways I wasn’t expecting, and I know that’s what happened with Georgia too. Georgia, my girl. My beautiful, brave girl. I love her. These two have seen the best and worst of each other, but they survived. They fought hard. Not everyone will agree with their love, but that’s the thing... it’s theirs. They understand each other in ways most couples only dream about.

This entire series is one knockout after another. Each couple, each character... they all bring something different to the table. The Devils stand together and have each other’s backs. Always. Im not kidding when I say I’m devastated at having to leave this series behind.

This duo is immensely talented and hands down, my favorite new to me authors of 2021. I’m so glad I came across their books. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Jumping from the first book straight to this one, must say I didn't expect to even like it. Firstly, it doesn't have many reviews, and almost all are positive (by people who usually give high rating), so I honestly didn't expect much. And secondly, well Heston-the Hero didn't really make the greatest impression on me from the first book, and I've heard he goes even worse in the two books that follow.

I like the style of writing and the plot. Even though there were moments that didn't make sense (like Heston being a swim teacher in the same school, after this huge blow out, during which he was most definitely marked as a predator. Authors tried to explain it, but it didn't make much sense to me), it was very catchy and it was the kinda book you need to finish before eating or sleeping or just continuing with your life 😁

Regarding safety - it is definitely NOT SAFE especially the first sex scenes. There's a big trigger warning at the beginning of the book, and if you're not 100% sure you will be fine with it, don't read it! IRL both Hero and heroine would be sick individuals, who need treatment. Romanticizing it wouldn't be OK in any case. In the book though, it works and it works perfectly... The sex scenes are hot and rough, but Georgia is one tough cookie and I like it about her. What can I say, strong heroine can save even the unsafest books 🤗

I loved this book; this was my favourite of the series. I never liked Sebastian and it was hard reading about Heston's pain the entire book whether it be physical or emotional -I know he needed to be humbled and his gambling needed to stop- but I honestly wanted no one else to cause him more pain like his dumbass ape of a brother or his ex-best friends.

I thought Emory was a fucking hypocrite and he had the gall to judge Heston when he himself was disgusting many times as Heston even pointed out. I really, really hated it when Emory and I think it was Tyson threatened to end Heston if he hurt Georgia again when he simply said she was one of his students. Threatened Heston if he uttered another word of what Emory has done in the past. Not-so-subtly threatened him about hurting Misha after he clearly said he liked the kid. I felt so sick during that whole scene. Like, gimme a damn break. You'e in his club, in his domain, assholes 1 & 2, calm the fuck down. I'm glad there's no book about Emory, hope there never is.

That scene pissed me off, I get that they're looking out for their friend but I was SO SICK AND TIRED of every other male using their physical strength to threaten or beat down Heston throughout the book and honestly the entire series but especially in his own damn book.

Even though I didn't like Sebastian, every time he tried to talk to Heston about his car, I thought that was kinda funny and even a little cute. Even though he also threatened Heston, I begrudgingly admit the car-related scenes were somewhat decent. I kinda wish we saw more of their bonding or at least a mention of it in the last moments of the book, I'm thinking they never got to be close but I was hoping for it.

And omg my favourite part- that scene near the end where Georgia almost... and he went after her...saved her... omg I re-read it multiple times, I loved it. Everyone hated him there except Misha who I love, I'm so glad he tried to stick up for Heston when he was getting berated and shit on once again.

And Georgia was pretty great as well, interesting heroine, not like what I usually encounter in other books and HESTON WAS THE FUCKING HERO OF THAT NIGHT so screw everyone that was there who were all so disappointed and groaned when he first showed up. He was so damn sweet. I love that Georgia kissed him in front of everyone, serves them right to see him winning for once.

I'm sorry but Reyn's father was awesome here and I absolutely loved his and Heston's interactions, I liked and preferred Heston as his pseudo-son way more than his actual son, Reyn. That says a lot.

I didn't care about Hamilton in his book, he was also a dick many times. Also didn't love how Heston was represented in Hamilton's book; I hated the kicking incident, which makes me think perhaps the author didn't initially plan to have a book about Heston because this particular part is horrible and then when Hamilton and his friends goaded into Heston into a fight, even though Hamilton knew he was stronger of the two... it was just a very sucky and icky moment... Btw, Heston tries to explain what happened with the kicking thing in his own book and since he had come a long way, I believed him even if others clearly did not.

I didn't give a shit about Reyn in his book which I mostly skimmed, there was legit nothing interesting about Vandy or Reyn. Sebastian is a no-brainer, I hated him, didn't care about him or his brutish ways and I know the author made Heston a villain-type in his book as well as in Reyn's book but still, the last time Sebastian beat Heston up and the sheer brutality of it made my heart clench especially when I really thought about it after reading Heston's book.

I loved Heston. I thought he was a worthy hero and Georgia matched him well- I wouldn't have minded if the author had come up with a subdued/mellow/innocent/virginal-type girl for Heston but I thought Georgia made a good heroine. I still liked Heston more than her though.

I really really really really want to give this 5 stars and I’m gonna do it anyway based on enjoyment and how much I cried BUT I can’t move past the fact that Heston didn’t start off as the Heston these authors have built up for the past three books. I don’t know if it was because I knew the trajectory of the story, or if it was because we had his POV… but there was something distinctly not Heston about him since the beginning that felt too soft. Or maybe I’ve gone soft with all the shit I’ve been reading lately. IDK.

HOWEVER, that being said this was my fav book of the series so far. This was my favorite dynamic. I love that they met each other stroke for stroke 😏 it was hot, it was funny, they were AMAZING! And I loved loved loved Micah getting a larger role in this book. (And would totally love a book about him maybe? Unless that exists and I don’t know about it?!)

I stayed up so late last night reading this and I really tried to put off the ending for as much as possible. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to these characters. How will I survive???

Uncomfortably beautiful

The authors warn you before you the book and I'm glad they did, However I'm always up for a challenge. I will say the beginning of the story it did make me a little uncomfortable, but once you get into the 39% where Georgia and Heston finally reveal their truths to each other, you begin to see the charcters for who they are, how they fall in love with each other and how they see each other through their darkest trials. It's good.

I was a little hesitant to read Heston's book because he was such a complete tool, but surprisingly, I enjoyed it. He was still a jerk, but he grew on me; I found him pretty witty actually. He and Georgia totally worked - I thought they were perfect for each other and I really loved the way their story turned out.

The author leaked Heston by giving him a heroine like Georgia, who was a nymphomaniac and just jumped on any available cock with no respect for herself (P.S. buy a dildo). I don't want a heroine like that in a romance novel, especially one with such a delicious villain to pair with!

I love Heston Wilcox! ok let me tell you about this book, it's Heston and Georgia's story and it's one you will fall in love with if you love enemies to lovers, dark bully romance, a very bad boy indeed, a complete devil, but it's not only about the dark romance, we get angst, mystery, suspense, lust, and a total thriller, you will read about emotional betrayal, mental health, addictions and so much more. There is a secret society within the story and I am so addicted to those, so that's the cherry on top for me. This is no easy usual read, you will get a turmoil of emotions. Yes, Heston is a complete douche, the worst, and his redemption is totally debatable. This can be read as a standalone, but I would totally recommend the series because you will want to meet them all. Great pacing, amazing worldbuilding, and characters.

I received an ARC for an honest review.....

Heston Wilcox is a douche, an ass, the lowest of low. Everyone knows it and no one denies it, not even him. He’s selfish, diabolical and narcissistic. He doesn’t care who he hurts to get what he wants. His fall from grace isn’t a pretty one, but one can’t say he didn’t deserve it. He really had it coming….but that’s the thing, sometimes hitting rock bottom is the best thing there is for some people.

Georgia Haynes has her own set of problems, her own demons she’s fighting daily. She doesn’t need anything added to that, and definitely not the devil himself back in her life. She owns who she is, but that never makes it easy to just live her life as she pleases.
To watch Heston fall from grace was what I wanted, until I got into his head and really saw how he thinks and feels. I started feeling bad for him, but then he’d do something to screw it right back up. It’s Heston after all, he doesn’t care for anyone or does he? As Heston is dealing with his demons, and Georgia is acknowledging her own tango with the devil, we see them both come together trying to get the best of the other. That’s the problem with broken people, they don’t trust anyone, especially not the person who screwed them over in the first place. I grew to love Heston though, he redeemed himself in such a way I honestly never thought possible. I’ve loved Georgia from the beginning even with her issues, she never denied who she is; she just had to figure out a better outlet. Heston and Georgia just fit, and balanced one another in a way that I could never see with anyone else.

This book deals with a lot of issues, sexual issues, mental health, addictions and a few other things that might be triggers. The authors do a great job of warning you before you even get started. It is bully to romance, and if you’ve read any of the series, you know what a dick Heston can be, this book is no different.

While this is a story about a couple and is complete, I would advise you to read the previous books in this series to get the full grasp of just how hurtful Heston's behaviour and it's effects were on others, including Georgia. Pay attention to the trigger warnings, this is a dark bully story.

TBH I hadn't even an awful lot of thought to Georgia's demons beyond her friendship with Bass (book 3) and the support she had given him, so as her story unfolded the reader can see what and effort she is making just to appear normal. When Heston returns to Preston Prep (how the hell did that happen without triggering red flags I'll never know) and they are forced to work together, it is interesting to see the rationale they employ as they use each other at the start, in basic survival mode really.

Events happen, motivations change, power shifts, friendships strain, others blossom; through it all the authors use secondary characters so solidly throughout whole series that reading and explaining all these progressions and scenes just flow and are so readable. This book was never an effort to read and it was seldom out of my hand from the moment I received it. I adore Micha, he is such a wholesome character and his love, forgiveness and humour are not only a joy to read, he's just the character to give you a break from the intensity of it all and just allows you to observe everyday interactions. If he does not get (at least) a novella to himself then I will be bitterly disappointed.

The big question for this series is do I still hate Heston? No, amazingly I don't, I'll tolerate him for very short amounts of time because of Georgia but we'll never be friends; I can live with that.

You made me like Heston. Holy crap ... YOU MADE ME LIKE HESTON!! You’ve have literally accomplished the impossible!!

Ok let’s rewind - Devil Incarnate, book four in the Boys of Preston Prep series. We’ve met Heston before - dude has a rap sheet a mile long of reasons why we should absolutely, undisputedly HATE him. Of all the Devils, he is Satan.

And we have Georgia - lover of all things steamy, at all hours of the day. Girl is addicted and that’s no joke!

These two have a serious history that dates back to before book one. And yet, when they come together, it somehow makes sense. I have no idea why but it was like two people recognizing the dark, broken pieces in each other - it worked!

It’s definitely the darkest book, which we were thoroughly warned about! But like I said, these two wear each other - and me! - down, in the best way.

They somehow found a way to make Heston redeemable and likable and, to Georgia, lovable. Neither are perfect (by any means) but this story surprised me - the perspectives give us the age-old “the grass isn’t always greener” vibe. And the ending was spot on!

Oh and the steam ... like I said, Georgia has some cravings so the 🔥 here was extra high! Oh, and I’m gonna need more Micha in my life - STAT!!

“You shared that video of me. You shared the video of Sydney. You kicked Gwen Adams in the face. You sold drugs to Vandy, who you probably already knew was an addict. You pulled an appallingly transphobic prank on a middle schooler. You bullied your own little brother into fighting for you, tormented him for years, and almost got him killed, all for some money.”
“Did I kick puppies?” he asks, faking a pout. “Am I responsible for global warming?”

LMAAAAAO

i know heston is #controversial but this is toxic realness and i can't remember shit he did in the other books so idgaf about that when i started this one. also micha and him being fans of a teen drama inspired by riverdale. this is family y'all

Wow what can I say about Heston , especially in book 3 , how he was with his brother Bass. But this story brought him to his knees. How he had to pay for everything , If you haven’t grab book 1 and book 3 and see what I’m talking about. Love how he changed and Georgina helped with that. . Love how Warren told him some truths also.

When the most wicked Devil falls in love, trust me when I say it will be epic. He fell the hardest, the most pussy-whipped among the four Devils. This book is not just a redemption arc, it's a wholeass redemption story and I freaking love it.

Heston was my least favorite fictional character after reading "Devil May Care" because what he did with Gwendolyn didn't sit well with me. The way he used Sebastian as his cash cow (and the fact that Bass is my bias among the Devils so you know he needs to be protected at all costs) was another fuck-up thing to do. What's worst is when he taped his sex video with Georgia and spread it. A top of the line asshole. The worst of the worst. Lucifer might not stand a chance if they butt heads.

I honestly didn't think Angel and Samantha would write a story about him because if you followed the first book, you wouldn't like him and you wouldn't expect that he would change. But lo and behold, this book proved me wrong.

Come to think of it, all of the guys had their fuck-up moments: Hamilton stayed away from Gwendolyn when he found out she was adopted. As they became teenagers, he was one of the people who ostracized her. Reynolds coerced Vandy to come with him and steal a car only to end up totaling the car and sustain massive injuries. Sebastian interfered a confrontation between a fuckhead and Sugar to act as her hero, which eventually turned into a disaster when he punched her in her face. Then finally, Heston made a sex video with Georgia (sans her consent) and she turned him in. Now he's on probation and has to render community service as an assistant swim coach.

I guess the 'd' in 'Devil' means dick. But I guess there's also an 'e' in that same word for that moment of 'epiphany' to arrange their lives and make themselves worthy of their lady loves.

And the proposal? Damn. That one was surprisingly good. I wouldn't expect Heston to be the first to tie the knot. Ending this series with that epilogue was amazing. Not shocking but still satisfying.

I spent the entire series hating Heston, but I should’ve known at Samantha and Angel could make me love another bad boy. They always do.

This book was different from the last two in that the main character was a really shitty person. However, he did have redeemable qualities and was actually, dare I say it, a good guy (at times). I ended up liking him a lot despite his past actions. He seemed to learn from them and discovered himself in the process. Can’t ask for more than that. Plus, I just felt bad for the guy. He had clearly been through a lot, although yes, he did cause some of his own downfall. Regardless, he seemed to turn things around.

I loved Georgia. I know she put herself in bad situations, but let’s face it: she knew what she wanted and she went after it. Honestly, that’s pretty cool. I can respect that. I’m sure this book is out of a lot of people’s comfort zones, especially considering Heston’s community service assignment, but just give the book a chance. It’s fictional! Maybe I’m just really open when it comes to reading books with less-than-ideal situations.
I don’t know. I just feel like books are taken way too seriously sometimes.

The smut was hot and was really well written. Like, really, really well written. What I wasn’t expecting were the heartfelt scenes between Georgia and Heston, but I loved them all the same. The story was entertaining, definitely tense at times and certainly angsty (which is exactly why I loved it). The tumultuous background between the two main characters really set this story apart. Of course, the friendships and secret society in the book (aka the Devils) were also a huge part of why I enjoyed this novel. I wish this series had more books in it!!
