British Billionaires #3

Dangerous Compulsion

Rate this book
I should have remained obedient, silently content, and blissfully ignorant in the background. Instead, I stepped boldly forward and entered his world. I should have been afraid… He was “the Andreini,” a name whispered and feared by criminal organizations around the world. I should have run then, or at least been cautious when I found it painfully impossible to resist him. I did none of those perfectly reasonable things because he was my husband…on paper.

I should have sent her back to the bubble I had built specifically for her. I should have ignored the intense chemistry between us. I should have guarded the heart I never knew I had. She would have been safe and my carefully built dual identities wouldn’t be under threat. I did none of those perfectly reasonable things because I wanted her… She became a dangerous compulsion I couldn’t ignore.

The first romance novel I ever read was Cinderella! I devoured Disney’s version of romance until I was eleven, and then I discovered Mills & Boons. In those days kissing was the most explicit intimacy disclosed: the hero and heroine went to bed and came out the next day with smiles! I had no idea what happened, but I was intrigued. My mom had shelves and shelves of them. Over the long summer breaks, I barely left my bedroom! My busy parent had no idea what I was up to. I’ve always been fascinated with love stories. I started writing in college, but I never expected anyone would ever read my whimsical musings. LOL! Now years later, after husband and kids, and a solid career in finance I’ve started publishing those early ideas.

I write my stories so that every woman would be inspired to find the other half of themselves. With every story I tell, my Caribbean sisters are highlighted. Our culture is a melting pot of all ethnicities, where love has no color. We love who we love and make no apology for it. These stories are also infused with my love for sports and action thrillers. I’m an avid sports fan. Tennis, football, track and basketball are my favorites. I devour dramas and action movies. So it’s to be expected that my books have a healthy dose of adventure.

Writing romance novels has been a dream I never knew I had. It was born out of suddenly having a little extra time with the kids out of the house. I absolutely love this creative outlet.

Author’s Creed
I like women strong, and my men stronger!
I like my sex raunchy but meaningful!

These two were made for each other

5-DANGEROUS COMPULSION - BRITISH BILLIONAIRES #3 -HELL YEAH MADE FOR EACH OTHER THEY WERE.
Arinna, girl, I bow down to you. This chick is a warrior, a beast, a brain, a queen. She had it all going on and was strong, determined and then some. She was a match for her husband in every way. She did what she had to do. She was in demand. She was protected. She was rejected. She was just what she aspired to be. She was made for the man she connected with at the young age of 17. Years later she is the pretty little package that others want to exploit to get to her husband. She was determined to get his attention but could that be the nail in her and his coffin.

The Andreini was feared, revered, and admired. He was also a man leading a double life. He was a man of great wealth in both worlds he chose to live in. He was a powerhouse. He married out of obligation. But then he finds himself changing the game after an encounter with his wife. She knows more than he thought she did. She was also more alluring then he wanted her to be. He would do anything in this world to keep her safe and out of harm's way. This one thing that he must do now may break her. Ariann gets down but she will not go out like that. She is a beast to the end. Every beast has to regroup at some point. The game is not over and she will not be counted down just yet.

There are some really great characters and stories left to be explored. I look forward to going backwards in D.M. Mortier's book catalogue to get me some more deliciously action & romance/passion packed reads. I look forward to each new story and their future re-read.

Superb

D.M. Mortier, you done it again!!! It is so hard to part with the characters, it's like saying goodbyes to real friends. 😪
Arianna and Simon/Santo are phenomenal... Two strong will people who's chemistry is combustible (not sure it's correct English), they will kill and destroy to protect each other... Their world is dangerous where enemies are disguised as friends. Trust is not a word that is used lightly. There will be a lot of lost and pain... Will they survive? Will their love?
Awesome read!!

Exhilarating!

This is a new direction for Ms. Mortier. I am so hyped about this story line. Captivating from beginning to end. Although there was romance, the story was dominated by lots of action and suspense. The characters were unique and cunning. I was constantly trying to anticipate the next move. A lot of different elements to keep me engaged and on edge. An awesome read. I hope there is more to come.

Good

I really do enjoy reading 📚 books from this author. At first I want a fan of ari bc she just did to much but I wouldn't like a man to tell me what to do either but he did it to protect her so I got it . Ari did do stuff that put ppl in harm for not listening so it ducked that he didn't tell her but she would have blew his co er if she knew c she always did what she wanted. But I did enjoy this book in this series as well as the others

Amazing 🤩

It was a slow start but one it got going, it got going.

I liked Arianna at times and then her rebelliousness annoyed me at other times. How could she not listen and understand the situation when dealing with a man like Santos? She needed to listen for her own good. Yet her not listening made the story more interesting. Arianna was a strong woman that wasn’t defenseless or that needed saving. That’s the part I loved 🥰 about her character.

Santos sounded like “sweaty hot sex on a spring night”!! 😂 He was dark, deadly and dangerous. Added that he was sexy and rich.

I have read all the books in this series and all of them are amazingly entertaining!

Happy reading 📖!

Page turner!

First time reading this author and I loved it! She has a riveting writing style that makes you want more. Loved the characters Santo & Arianna also their chemistry was so good between them that you can ignore that their relationship for a period of the book was mostly based on lust, but they do grow in the end! Will def check out her other work.

Yeah It's Good!!

Let me tell you what a way to.end one spectacular series. The writer not only for a time convinces us that we are dealing with two heroes, but our heroin has a time separating them. This was not only well written but it was not only exciting but sexy as well. We get a most enjoyable story, with a lot to say. The story is well fleshed out and the character development is very good. If you are looking for a.good story with action, mystery and a whole lot of sexy then this definitely for you! There is more to tell with these characters and their children, especially. Ryder.

I just couldn't

I love how this author writes and brings her characters to life but the heroine of this book irked my last nerve. She just kept coming across as a spoiled, petulant child. For me she has no redeeming qualities. I understand he left her alone for 3 years but for her to consistently to do things to undermine him. Placing people willingly in life or death situations to prove a point, nah, nope this child would have honestly been sent somewhere and dropped off. How she talked to her mother, whew chile I was looking for my belt. I struggled to finish this book, once I did I felt the need for a drink. I am no way bashing this author or the book, just the heroine of this book. I'm all for taking charge but you have to be smart. She put everyone in danger to just to play a game of get back, just because someone treated you like the child you were and continued to act like. Thank goodness for kindle unlimited, returned two hours after I checked it out.

Bipolar...

She made me feel bipolar. First she was annoying and being fast in the a$$ at only 17 flirting with a grown man. The she all grown and I admired her for being young, smart, educated and about her business. Then this heffa just staring acting more like a pest, grating every nerve in me. But when he died and she was grieving, that made me sad for her. I think I liked her best towards the end when she was committed to protecting her baby, and focused on that. The best friend Shasha was shocking how he betrayed her, but I'm wondering why he didn't have that same energy for Antonio. Especially while he was basically pimping him out. The Simon/Santo, this fool was jealousy of himself, but I loved how protective, possessive, and loving he was with her even though she was a pain in his a$$ at times. Great read overall

Not really a five stars!!!! but…..

The beginning was good, then the middle was so perfect and then the last part and end went down, messed up. I couldn’t understand or I should say that I hated that death. So not needed at all because truthfully I preferred the gangster to the business man….
Arianna was a different kind of girl and very relatable to me as I uphold the title of “ride or die” very seriously, and she does to.
Simon/Santo, ok but Santo was the best and it for me.
The last part was very rushed and just predictable regarding the events but it was still sad and a shock to learn about the family.
Sasha got what he deserved as well as Maxim….
Now I am patiently waiting for what’s next while rereading some of my favorite story from MS. Mortier!!!!

Don’t mess with the Andreini.

Hmmm this is a hard book to rate. There are some things I enjoyed like the H, Santo/Simon, the overall story, and action, drama, suspense. What really made this book hard for me was the h, Arianna. While she had moments where I liked her, majority of the time I was annoyed with her. I understand why she felt how she did, but she acted like a brat and so immature half the time and it got really old really quick. There were better ways for her to achieve her goals than they way she went about it.

Decent read, still worth checking out, you may not feel as annoyed by the h as I was.

Fabulous and thrilling read!!

This was a book I couldn't put down. The characters were brutal, passionate single minded and determined. Witty repartee made our female protagonist really likeable and Santo or Simon were like putty in her hands. How can one resist a witty but deadly character? Great story and we also see glimpses of the Guard under Dominic Stone!! Great read!! Is Dr Taruk Holmes going to have a story? I do hope so!! As usual the author lea bed is with a desire to read her next book!! Highly recommend any book of Mrs D. Mortier!!

Dark and dangerous

Wow! Another great story. This take on living a double life, Santo or Simon, he was just an enigmatic character. The fact that he married Arianna by proxy and left her alone for three years without trying to get to know her is crazy. But it set the stage for all the dramatics that follows. Plenty of action, sex, mystery and betrayal. I loved every second of it. This was the best of English Billionaires. Thank you.

Great read

I loved the storyline because I love IR alpha male men. However, It was a little far fetched with Simon becoming Santos only by a change of eye colour and special glasses! Also found Arianna annoying at times when putting her bodyguards in danger just to prove a point, and finally Indestructible Neo and friends (really!!). Still a great read though

Loved the story

Great story. Quick but intense read. The female lead demanded what she wanted and would take no less. The male lead was all alpha without having to beat his woman into submission.
