Scottsdale’s favorite investigator, Laura Black, returns in a new thrilling romantic mystery. This time around, she’s hot on the trail of a treasure chest full of priceless jewelry. Unfortunately, so are both the bad guys and the FBI. The client’s a guy from Chicago and he seems to have more secrets than answers. Things go from bad to worse when Laura stumbles across yet another dead body. As always, Laura is helped out by her best friend Sophie and former cop Gina Rondinelli. Together they’ll solve the mystery, even if it kills them.
To add to the confusion, Laura is trying to have a real relationship with plainclothes cop Jack Reno, while at the same time she can’t help but have lingering romantic thoughts about the gorgeous and dangerous crime lieutenant, Maximillian. Lurking in the background is Carlos the Butcher and his vicious gang of drug smugglers. Laura will need to work hard to stay out of their way.
With equal parts humor, action, and mystery, Scottsdale Sizzle is the perfect light, fast, and fun summer novel.
I'm thrilled to announce that Kristy Piper, our favorite Scottsdale wedding planner, has taken up residence in Aloha Lagoon! After the crazy events of Scottsdale Silence, Kristy has finally achieved her lifelong dream of moving to paradise. She took a job in Hawaii as the Aloha Lagoon resort wedding planner on the gorgeous island of Kauai. Sun, surf, sandy beaches, and glowing brides...what could possibly go wrong?
Turns out, everything.

As for me, halfway through a successful career in technical writing, marketing, and sales, along with having four beautiful children, I veered into fiction. For The Scottsdale Series, I tried to combine my love of the desert, derived from sixteen years of living in Arizona, with my appreciation of the modern romantic detective story. I hope you like the results!
Thanks to all for the great comments and questions. As always, I'd love to hear from you.
That I’m really enjoying this series. I get a little more caught up in each one. The characters are well fleshed and with the right amount of quirky and the tension about Jackson Reno her boyfriend and Maximilian keep notching up.
I love the characters in this series. They are always so varied and fun. And there is always fun, mystery, action, romance in every book. The mystery through this book was literally a treasure hunt. I'm already looking forward to the next book.
Another great book! Can't wait to jump back in Laura's Scottsdale!
I'm totally obsessed with everyone in this book series. Although I'm feeling more team Max! The strong and funny women! Yea! Every generation represented. Go Ladies! I'm impressed with how well the story flows and always keeps me interested. Starting the fourth book ..... NOW! Don't stop writing Laura's stories !
This is another winner, exciting twists and turns and the various characters are great. However, I would like to see Laura with Max instead of Reno. I know that Reno is the logical choice for Laura, but Max is so much more exciting.
Yet another installment of some good Arizona sleuthing! Bad guys, good guys, cops, and cougars! I am worried about Marlowe and his affliction. Will keep reading about this interesting group of friends and hope that Marlowe gets to visit the vet in the next book!
Could have done without the foul language and the writer describing everything. Needed to put more into the story and less into talking about the weather.
Scottsdale Sizzle is an exciting, action packed, adventure. Wish Laura would make up her mind on which man she wants. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I love the third book in this series. Great suspense mixed with just the right amount of romance. I can't wait to read the next book. Highly recommend!!
This book was very entertaining and easy to follow but pretty predictable. Too easy mostly but I still enjoyed it. Mainly because of Laura and her friends. I'm trying to decide if all the directions and descriptions of highways and businesses in Scottsdale, Arizona are real or are made up to fill up pages and pages of the story. If they are real then I don't mind so much but otherwise it's just that, FILLER!
I was telling my daughter if all of this information was true then you could go there and know where every great place there was to eat, party, golf, etcetera. , also it tells you where everything is and how to get there and exactly what everything looks like on the outside and the inside. I mean this takes up at least 3/4 th of the books! And I almost forgot you also know exactly what everyone is wearing at all times. I really don't mind all this because it's told from Laura's point of view with her own quirks and personality and what she thinks is important. That's cool. BUT, all those directions get kind of tedious, unless they are real. I'd really like to go to Caroline's to eat soon. Sounded delicious !
Anyway. I recommend this series to anyone who likes light reading, laughing, fashion, flirting, and having a good time. (With a little mystery, murder thrown in. ) and if all the background about Scottsdale is true which I hope most of it is, I'd really like to go be a snowbird there! ONLY NOT IN THE SUMMER!! Read the book, it's an inside joke. Ha ha
Another great addition to the Laura Black series. She is looking for a treasure box full of jewelry with two siblings. Things don't go as planned, and soon the FBI along with some Chicago Mafia guys are joining in the fun. There's a Big Bang at the end which will probably lead to the next book. Laura is still with Reno and fighting her attraction to Max. Again, I think Max is the better choice. Can't wait for the next book.
I love this series and this is a great addition to the series. Laura and her friends are great characters that you care about and root for as they find themselves in one difficult situation after another. I'm already looking forward to book 4.
