Can I even be called a biker when I can’t ride anymore?
Four years ago, Adam Gamble suffered a head injury that left him with sporadic absence seizures that have limited his autonomy. Hating how much he’s come to rely on his club brothers, Adam decides to move out of the clubhouse. After failing to rekindle a past relationship, NYPD detective Tyson McCormick is wary of getting into another one anytime soon. An unexpected lunchtime hookup is just what he needs, but afterward, he can’t seem to get Adam out of his mind. When the two start seeing each other, Adam worries that once he tells Tyson about his condition, things will change between them. Both men want to take things slow, but sometimes love has other ideas.
------------------------------------- I really love this series as a whole, even though I haven’t loved every single book. I just love these guys and I couldn’t wait to see how Adam would finally get his HEA.
It’s been years since Adam got hit on the head when he got attacked in Morgan’s apartment, but Adam still has absence seizures. Most people don’t even notice when they happen, but some last longer so they’re more obvious.
Adam is tired of his MC brothers treating him with kid gloves. So he feels it’s time to move out and share an apartment with Mick, who is still recovering from getting attacked by his ex. This was they can both help each other out.
When Adam meets hot police officer Tyson one day, when he is working in his friend’s store, he is immediately attracted to the dark man. They unexpectedly have a lunch hookup and both men would love a repeat.
But Adam thinks Tyson is just interested in sex, and he is not about to reveal his condition, because he just knows Tyson will suddenly be too careful with him….
I was so happy that this book was as sweet as it was. I was afraid these guys would do the friends with benefits thing, but Tyson made sure Adam knew he was more of a relationship guy.
Of course there was this major thing between them, but it never felt like Adam’s angst about it was fake or fabricated to insert some issues between the couple. And I could even understand Tyson getting mad about Adam hiding it from him. I was just glad it didn’t last long.
I thought this was a perfect last book. And I can’t wait for a spin-off.
About a year after the attack the seizures started, Adam knows it could be worse, but still. Having a seizure with a guy in front of you on his knees is no fun. Leaving the club and his brothers and live with his friend Mick is a big step.
When police officer Tyson meets Adam at Adam’s work the heat is on, lunch ends in a hot hookup. They split ways but can’t forget about the other.
Adam wants to hide his condition from Tyson he loves rough sex and hates it when a guy is careful around him in bed, but somehow the policeman in Tyson knows something is wrong. What Adam doesn’t know how important trust is to Tyson.
Besides Adam and Tyson their personal story and their hookups, we meet all the Hedonist members again and there’s a story around Mick and his abusive ex.
No shyness, just blunt honesty
All the Hedonist members together gave a lot of banter. Dirty mouthed jokes and comradery showed how much they all loved each other, there’s no shyness, just blunt honesty. One for all and all for one. A great finale story of this series. I loved every installment. I’m sad to see all those guys go. Awesomely written series.
I have a soft spot for Adam ever since we learned that he suffered a head injury from Book 1. It had been so long and Adam finally get his well deserved HEA. As the title alluded, Adam and Tyson started off as hookup buddies. They are burning up the sheets constantly and also so sweet to each other. Tyson is a hot cop and always in search for steady relationship, so is not a wonder that he wanted to pursue for something more with Adam. The only drama present was Adam's reluctant to tell Tyson about his condition in the beginning, which is totally understandable. It put a little dent on their relationship, but they came back stronger. For fans of Blaze and Lake, you will have something to look forward to. Don't miss out this installment.
The Hookup and the Hedonist is the eight and final book in The Hedonist series by Rebecca James. It definitely is a great way to end the series.
Adam and Tyson's story starts with a hot hookup, but soon leads to so much more.
Their story is beautiful as they each help bring the other back to life. This hurt/comfort aspect is wonderfully done, with both men having things in their pasts that left them effected in a bad way.
And damn, their chemistry is intense. Seriously, the sex really brings these men together. Their relationship has it's fair share of obstacles, with Adam's secret being one of them. He has a history of seizures, but doesn't want to tell this to Tyson. It definitely gets annoying at times, but it's also understandable. Over all, Adam desperately wants to be treated as an equal, and not as a delicate flower.
The writing is great, as I've come to expect from this series. And with the addition of great friends and family, everything is just that much better. I love getting to spend time with the other men in the series again.
The Hookup and the Hedonist is a great wrap up to this series. Rebecca James combines a lot of heart and heat into this tale. If you haven't yet met The Hedonists, do yourself a favor and go back and start with book one, The Ballerino and the Biker. You won't regret it.
So happy to finnaly have Adam's story with him being a side character throughout the Hedonist series and with what he's been through. Adam and Tyson meet by chance as Tyson turns up where Adam works and their is a hot spark of attraction that they act on pretty quickly! Whilst their physical relationship is hotly intense, an emotional connection is slower to build as is trust with both men having something that holds them back. Tyson has not long got over his last relationship that didn't end well for him and Adam has absence sezuires but he hates how everyone treats him differently now and isn't ready for that with Tyson. Neither were expecting how much they'd come to mean to each other. Adam finally gets his HEA and Tyson is a wonderful fit for him. He treats him as he deserves out of bed and how he wants in it. They're chemistry is crazy good and I was constantly shouting at Adam to just tell him but The Hedonists is made up of stubborn men. It's so heartwarming to read how much all of the brothers look out for Adam, whether he appreciates it or not, and are always there with an ear, a shoulder or an occasional kick up the backside. It was also great having Mick around too and having him become more involved. Tyson is clearly a hard worker as a detective in Vice and appreciates his friends and family but above anything else, he values trust but that's definitely put to the test. He past relationship with Flynn raised issues but he has worked hard to overcome them which has probably made him better in the long run for anything with Adam. They make a very hot couple together but also have sweet moments together that show how good they can be for each other. I loved this book came together at the end, giving fans of the series little bits for several other couples as well, one especially that makes your heart happy. I love this whole series and The Hookup and the Hedonist is a great way to finish it for the characters and relationships involved. I hope we get to check back in on them occasionally and hear from other men that we met along the way. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Adam and Tyson were definitely made for each other. They each brought the other back to life. It was amazing how they were drawn to the other so strongly, how quickly feelings gripped them. You couldn't resist wanting to see them get a perfect HEA. I did find myself getting irritated with Adam at times. There were times when I felt he came across as a lot younger than a 31yr old man. For me, I feel he seemed immature with some of his actions, and that at his age he should have been able to discuss with his friends how he felt. I understand he didn't want to be treated differently, so the mature way to handle that would've been to have a serious conversation about it. Adam has a good heart, and his protectiveness toward Mick made that fact really shine. His chemistry with Tyson was off the charts. He just needed to work on finding acceptance within himself, and then be a better communicator. Now Tyson, he needs to keep working on his trust issues. I could understand him feeling upset that Adam hadn't told him before something bad happened, to feel disappointed that your boyfriend possibly didn't have faith enough in you, but I believe he overreacted. I mean, the relationship was still new, and while I felt for safety reasons that Adam should have made it known sooner, I also understood Adam's fear, and his desperation to be an equal. Besides that one hurtle, Tyson was wonderful, and a perfect partner to Adam. These two guys deserved happiness and love, and boy did they ever find it with each other. When you add in their friends and family, it just makes everything even sweeter. Tyson and his sister fit right into Adam and his brothers lives. So happy with the ending.
The Hookup and the Hedonist is the 8th book in the Hedonist series by author Rebecca James. This story is told in dual POV I feel this POV is really needed in this story. There is a ton going on in each character’s mind. You do need to read this story in order. Other wise Adam’s injuries will not make a ton of sense to you.
Adam is a Hedonist biker. He cannot bike anymore cause he has a head injury that has left him with seizures. They can be spacing off or sometimes worse. He hates it when people know they treat him like he is made of glass. When we meet him is moving out of Tease’s place so Tease can have more time with his girlfriend.
Adam is a good man. He is strong and very brave.
Tyson is a police officer. He has a ton of family and trust issues. But something about Adam calls to him.
I loved Tyson he is open to things and very much a kindhearted soul.
Overall, these men are better together. I loved this addition to this series for me it is the best so far. It is a great wrap up to an amazing series.
This was the first book that I read from this series and I absolutely enjoyed reading the coupling of Tyson and Adam.
Just from reading their story the friendships that these brother's have through the club is everlasting. It was great getting a glimpse at past couple's.
This book gave me alot of feels. Adam's character made me sad at times for him given the condition he was facing. Knowing that he wanted to show that he could be independent but at the same time acknowledging that we all need help.
Tyson was total alpha male that I love reading about but with the biggest heart. He loves hard but has that dominant sex appeal.
After reading Tyson and Adam's story and having so many different emotions from laughing between all the hilarious bantering between the club members, to seeing the compassionate sides that they all had with their partners and loyalty they shared with each, I can't wait to go back and start at the beginning of this series.
The Hookup and the Hedonist is the eighth and final book in Rebecca James's Hedonist series and ties this MC series up beautifully.
We met Adam in previous books and I was glad to see him get his HEA. After suffering a head injury, his Hedonist MC brothers have been treating him like glass and he doesn't like it!! Things are going great with Tyson, and Adam feels that if Tyson knows about his condition, he will treat him differently. What harm is there keeping this from Tyson? After all, this is just a hookup!!
The chemistry between Adam and Tyson were off the charts!! Adam and Tyson were great together. It was great to catch up with the other couples in the Hedonist MC. The author as teased that there will be a spin off series with Mick's story, and I can't wait for that!!
If you're looking a MC series with a lot of heart, you can't go wrong with Hedonist.
This is the first time I’ve read any of this series. I’m going to definitely be looking for more, I loved this story. Adam had a head injury that he now gets seizures from. He can no longer drive and feels that he shouldn’t live at the MC clubhouse. He feels that everyone there treats him differently. He hookups with Tyson. Tyson is a detective. They have great chemistry and keep hooking up. Feelings grow, but Adam is hiding his seizures. Secrets have a way of coming out and sometimes its not good. I loved this story, it was sooo good!! I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Though Ive loved Adam throughout the rest of the series. You could feel how frustrated both he and everyone else was. Him as he was being wrapped in cottonwool, and everyone else as the thought he wasnt taking his condition seriously.
It actually took Tyson to change everyones minds. The club never saw Adam as the weakling he thought they saw him as. Adam finally saw that itbwas love and concern.
Though Tyson had family drama. It was bit placed and more could have been made of it. That said, I loved the interaction with Reyes, Dani, and Tyson.
Wow. Tyson and Adam are definitely made for each other. Both have things they're dealing with from their past that is hampering their future. Adam is seeing his trauma from a point where he is missing a big part of understanding his place. Tyson is hampered from a situation that was totally beyond his control but he allows it to control his relationships.
These guys are so good together. This entire series has such great stories and its a good ending for this series. It was really good seeing all of the loves coming together.
It is great seeing all the club members again and catching up with what has been going on. Adam's story is an interesting one. We follow his struggles as he begins to live independently and those struggles and the reluctance some people have to asking for and accepting help were realistically handled. Tyson is such a wonderful, caring character that he is perfect for Adam. Their chemistry is off the charts and watching them learn to trust each other with their hearts and secrets made for a great story.
I'm so glad Adam got his HEA but I am sad that this is the last one in this wonderful series. Adam and Tyson have incredible chemistry right from the moment they met, it explodes right off the pages. They are incredibly hot together and have a strong connection. But, Adam is hiding his condition from Tyson and since Tyson has trust issues, that just might tear them apart. They work incredibly well together and it was a pleasure watching their relationship develop even with all of the ups and downs. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This series is a must read for all mm and mc readers. Adam was injured protecting the partner of one of his club brothers & now suffers from seizures. Fed up with being treated with kid gloves and no longer able to ride his Harley, Adam leaves the club house. When he meets police officer Tyson, he hides the truth of his condition, so that Tyson will treat him like a normal man. But for a man with trust issues how will Tyson react when he finds out the truth. Thoroughly recommended.
This is the second book that I have read from this series. I enjoyed Adam and Tysons's story and continuing to see members of the MC in the storyline. The only thing I think would have made it better would be slightly less sex scenes and more building of their relationship. But otherwise it was still a great story.
I really enjoyed this book and it was so good to get Adam's hea. Adam's Hedonist brothers are really protective of him since he was badly injured in an attack which has left him with seizures. When he runs into Tyson sparks fly and they have a hookup. Both men want casual but the chemistry between them can't be denied. This is a great series but the book can be read as a standalone.
I thought Adam will end up with Tease so when I read this book I was suprised that he was with Tyson, Flynn's ex. I loved their story and was so happy to read all the Hedonist members were mentioned in this book but one thing bothering me was there were too much sex scenes.
What a lovely story!! I am so glad Tyson was understanding and Adam learned that love sometimes meant hovering!! Thier story is so beautiful!! Adam deserved it someone and I look forward to the series that has Mick's story 😍
This was such a fantastic, bittersweet, poignant, powerful, intense, heartbreaking yet hopeful, grab-you-by-the-feels, emotionally charged, tug-at-your-heartstrings, slow burning, and totally awesome way to end this marvelous series.
What a great book to end this series. I have loved every book. I was glad to see Adam paired with someone we had already met. Tyson and Adam were good together.
