As Chief of his Clan, Logan is surrounded by friends and family, the only thing missing is his mate. Natasha has always known that she was raised to be the mate of an Alpha, but being in her sister’s shadow has enabled her not to worry about it too much.
When Logan comes down to help the pack, he knows instantly that Natasha is the one for him. When she is put in harms way, he will stop at nothing to save her. Natasha never imagined that her mate would be anything other than a wolf, but although her feelings for Logan take her off guard, she can do nothing but succumb to them.
Right Girl, Wrong Alpha is the second in an all new series about men who may not be brothers by blood, but are brothers of the heart. And the realization that, regardless of how the Matthews siblings have been raised, sometimes you have to follow your heart, even if it's leading you down the hardest path.
Author DJ Bryce loves her men tall, dark, and Alpha. She can often be found relaxing with a cup of coffee, a handful of RedVines, and a good book, with her two dogs snoozing happily at her feet. She's a lover of The Walking Dead, Romantic Comedies, and writing sexy shifters. DJ Bryce is a pen name for USA Today Bestselling author, Bethany Lopez.
This was another quick and easy, sexy shifter book in the series! I really enjoyed it! And I’m sure Logan had a lot to do with it.
Logan is one sexy, BA bear shifter. He is the chief of his clan, and he knows Natasha is meant for him. Sizzling chemistry between the two made me devour this delicious, little novella.
Blurb: As Chief of his Clan, Logan is surrounded by friends and family, the only thing missing is his mate. Natasha has always known that she was raised to be the mate of an Alpha, but being in her sister’s shadow has enabled her not to worry about it too much.

Quick and easy romance, that ended waaaaaayyyyy too soon. Seriously at the end I forlornly said to myself, "Ohhh, it's over? Already?" It is a really good story though. I wish I read the first one (I will now) and I will definitely read the next one. It was foretold that Natasha and her sister will grow up and marry Alphas, so their parents trained/raised her and her sister to be pack leaders. But it's not going according to what they envisioned. Logan is Chief of his clan of bear shifters, he initially goes to visit and help out a friend of his, the Alpha of the neighboring wolf pack, but the moment he sees Natasha he knows she's his mate. Natasha is scared at first everything she thought about finding mates is so much stranger than she anticipated. Finding Logan was exhilarating and comforting yet scary at the same time. Logan is willing to give her space at first but when he feels that she is threatened by a new pack in the area nothing will stop him from protecting his mate.
Overall, aside from this being to damn short, it was really good. I love the characters and it was such an easy romance, I almost wish there was more conflict in the story. I can't wait for the next one.
This is book 2 in Brothers of the Heart series. After meeting these characters in book one and getting to know them in book 2 Natasha and Logan are really intense. This is a short story novella with steamy moments and even more drama. Book 3 coming soon.
I love how close Natasha a as her siblings are. I have to admit though that Gilly and Tasha's story have gotten me very excited for Brick's. I can't wait for that explosive mating.
It's been a long while since I've read a shifters romance novel and Right Girl, Wrong Alpha brought on all sorts of nostalgia. The story captured my attention right away and I finished it in one swift sitting.
However, as much as I liked the idea of the story, it was incredibly fast-paced - perhaps too fast for my liking - hence resulting in a lack of both plot and character development. Then again, it was just 80 pages of intense chemistry, so there's that. Perhaps I jumped into the story without knowing that it was a novella and therefore, expected more.
While I appreciate the steamy scenes and the white hot passion between mates, I just couldn't wrap my head around the instant I-love-yous, which I find to be slightly unrealistic. You do not just fall in love seconds after meeting your mate, let alone being tangled in the sheets for one night. Sure there was the unexplainable attraction, but soulmates take more than a few conversations to be nurtured and unfortunately that was a major turn off for me. However, I was genuinely more interested in Brick and Matteo's story, which has the potential to make a great read and that's driving me to continue with the series.
"When she is put in harm's way, he will stop at nothing to save her." Another problem I had with the book was the promise of this line. I do not want to reveal any spoilers from the book but somehow the promise of the blurb felt...unfulfilled? I don't know any other ways to describe it. Haha!
Nevertheless, although I wasn't a huge fan of the MC's, I find myself inexplicably drawn towards the secondary characters and hoping for their books to be written.
If you are into insta-love and alpha males, this is the book just for you!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by Inkslinger PR and the author. Thank you so much for the reviewing opportunity!
I absolutely loved RIGHT GIRL, WRONG ALPHA but it ended WAY too soon! The story begins with Logan visiting a nearby wolf pack where his friend Mateo is alpha. Things get hairy—literally—and Logan is honor bound to help. Especially since this is the pack of his newfound mate, Natasha.
I liked Natasha. She and her siblings have been struggling with living up to their family’s destiny, but when she sees Logan for the first time, everything else seems trivial. I liked them together. I wished the story was a little longer because I didn’t feel like there was as much character development as I would have liked, but it didn’t make the story any less. I just wanted a bit more meat and potatoes with my meal.
Natasha’s wolf pack has been experiencing trouble from some new shifters in their area causing a bit of mystery to the storyline. I liked the suspense aspect because it really balanced out the sensuality of Logan and Natasha’s meeting and mating.
The story is fast-paced, sexy and ended before I could even blink! I was very frustrated that it was only 80 pages. But, my hat’s off to the author for engaging me in the story so quickly. I’m desperately looking forward to the next novella.
***I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own***
Logan is the Chief of his bear clan he took over at a young age and now he urges to find his destined mate. His parents had passed away when he was only twenty two. Since the his mission was to take care and protect his clan. He leaves his clan to visit a wolf pack that the Chief is good friends with the Alpha. He goes there to see what he can learn of how things are done their and input it into his clan so they can flourish as well.
Natasha is part of a wolf pack and now her families well standing is boulder to bare. Ever since she was little her parents had instilled in her that the females in her famlies were destined to be mated to Alpha's and the men would become Alpha's. After two kids didn't live up to that notion and one was shuned it all fell on her.
This book was good I give it 3 and half stars I enjoyed reading about different speices getting together becuase this wolf back was still living in the acient times. Their was tons of drama and action that it kept me engaged. Can't wait to read Brick's story, Alpha's Forbidden Mae due to come out in December 2017.
ARC was provided by the authorr in exchnge for an honest review.
This is the second story in the series and it picks up where the last one left off with a little bit of overlap as the story is told from two new perspectives. Once again you have one of the Matthews siblings finding her mate with an unexpected alpha. Logan is the Chief of his bear clan. A strong, protective alpha bear with a sweet side and gentlemanly manners. Natasha is a wolf shifter and finds her mate quite unexpectedly but easily accepts this turn in events. The story starts with some action as Logan rescues Natasha before cementing their relationship. As smooth as things go, there are still some bumps as Natasha realizes all the changes that will come from her mating and the Threehorn Pack is still causing trouble. The ending leaves you anxious to read the next book in the series to see what happens.
Right Girl, Wrong Alpha is an exciting and engaging story that will pull you in and keep you absolutely enthralled. There was never a dull moment, and I fell hopelessly in love with Logan and Natasha and their quirky friends. Seeing how well their personalities meshed really made the story that much better and much more powerful. The bond among and between them was something to be treasured and envied. Watching this beautiful story unfold before me was like a priceless jewel that I will keep hidden and cherished within my heart. What a fabulous series with extra ordinary characters!
Listening to the amazingly talented narrator who brought this story to life really made it shine! She treated this story with the respect and love that it needed to highlight the beauty and value of each word and their heavy meaning. I can't wait to discover more from this outstanding series!
Natasha was raised to believe that only an Alpha could be her mate. We're talking werewolves here. Logan is the Chief of his clan, a clan of bear shifters. Logan travels to visit his friend, Mateo, and he meets Natasha at a backyard party. Their animals know right away that they're mates. Can Natasha accept a bear as her mate? When Logan senses Natasha is in trouble can he get to her in time?
Right Girl, Wrong Alpha was a quick, enjoyable novella. Logan and Natasha experience a kind of "insta-love," but that's common for shifter true mates. This is the second book in the Brothers of the Heart series by D.J. Bryce. Book 3 is coming soon. If you enjoy shifter romance and insta-love you'll like this story!
After introducing us to Logan and Natasha in the previous book, this short story gives us their story, one we were waiting to read.
Natasha has been groomed her whole life to marry an Alpha, even more so after he sister goes against that plan. But Natasha does find an Alpha, he just happens to be the Chief of his clan of bears. Will that be enough for her parents, and will she care if they don’t approve?
She knows her place is with Logan, but she hates the idea of leaving her friends and family behind. But a tragedy makes that decision for her and has her running back to her family.
Will that tragedy also bring two other members of her pack together so they can finally get their happily ever after.
This is the second book in the Brothers of the Heart series by D.J. Bryce. Natasha Matthews is a wolf shifter, she's the younger sister of Gillian (Alpha at Home) and the older sister of Brick (Alpha's Forbidden Mate). She helps run Howlers, the local bar and grill owned by their pack with her sister Gilly. Logan is a bear shifter and Chief of his clan, his lifelong friend, Derrik is his second in command. He's been friends with Mateo and Max for years and is visiting them so he can learn about harvesting their own food. As soon as he meets Natasha he knows she's his mate and he's not taking no for an answer. I really enjoy this series and I like how the story is ongoing with each book. I'm excited to read Brick and Mateo's story.
I like the title. Appropriate once you’ve read the book
So after reading the book, the ah ha moment is when the title makes sense. Great short story and the characters are energetic, animated and entertaining. Natasha Matthews always knew she would be an alphas mate but when her options seem to dwindle, she knew she would have to accept different packs as options. Only her option didn’t extend to different shifter species. The new wolf pack in town is causing problems and Bear clan Chief Logan comes in to help his old friend and wolf pack Alpha Mateo with this problem. Another underlying problem is when Brick, Natasha’s baby brother reveals his secrets.
As the struggles escalate with the new clan in the area Logan a visiting Bear Clan Chief finds his mate in the midst of chaos. Before either has a chance to acknowledge the intense heat between them troubles rear their ugly heads. In protection mode Logan whips Natasha away and well you know. Hot, intense and passionate this is a great next book in the series. Love these standalone reads but I gotta tell you reading them all will most definitely enhance the experience.
Right Girl, Wrong Alpha is book two in the Brother's of the Heart series. You could read it as a standalone but where's the fun in that. I love Logan & Tasha! DJ is doing well with this series. Things start to heat up with the characters and more trouble is happening. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Right Girl, Wrong Alpha by DJ Bryce was a great quick read. This is book two in the Brothers of the Heart Series. Logan is the chief of his clan but has yet to find his mate. Natasha was born with the understanding that she will mate with an alpha but has yet to meet him. I really enjoyed Logan and Natasha's story. This was a quick read but you quickly fall in love with the characters.
That was very good short but I loved it. It is so quick with shifters. They touch or see you or smell and they know. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
I've been in a major shifter romance mood, so this book really hit the spot for me. If I focus just on the romance itself, this book is fantastic - exactly what I wanted and needed. But it's the rest of the plot I had problems with. The author decided to add a suspenseful edge to the story - a rival pack that is causing problems. But because this book is so short, that subplot wasn't given enough depth to make it anything more than a nuisance. A lot could have been done with it, I could see the potential for a great story there, but.. it just didn't get the attention it deserved.
But the romance between Natasha and Logan was what sold me on this book. I like how this author did the whole "destined mate" thing - how they know, what it feels like, etc. It was classic, yet original enough. And I was interested enough in the couple from book one to read more in the future - and I definitely want to try the next book in the series, since that sounds like it will be a dramatic, but amazing, story. Despite the mistaken suspenseful plot, the romance itself is worth a read, and why I would recommend this to readers that want a good, shorter shifter story.
Disclaimer: I received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
3.5* While I enjoyed this book it was pretty much jump right in with both feet after the initial meeting of Natasha and Logan. This usually doesn't bother me but I would have liked to have more of a beginning of a relationship. I get that they're mates but a little build up would have been great.
We definitely have drama in this one not between the main characters but with the clan. Will they be able to help figure out who is behind the incidents that are plaguing the clan before it gets to be too late?
I really enjoyed how both Logan & Natasha are so about family. How they cherish their friendships. Logan is a bear shifter. He is also chief of his clan. His personal traits are just amazing. Natasha Matthews is a wolf shifter. Close with her sister & brother. I really enjoyed Brick & Gillian.
