Surviving my mother's death was hard.
Surviving the next four years in foster care was even harder.
Surviving Blaze Abbott was going to be impossible.

In my life there were three inexplicable truths: My world revolved around my job at House of Hope and the five foster boys who lived there, the past was like a ghost always lurking in the shadows, and fairy tales were a crock of sh*t.

Then I met Blaze Abbott—the tall, dark and dangerous owner of the brewery that one of my boys just set on fire.

He ripped through the walls of my world and made himself a home. He pulled me close and became my shelter. I saw the light in him when all he felt was darkness. He made me feel like everything when I'd always been nothing.

Until it all crumbled.

With my job came certain obligations. Obligations that meant the boys came first, even if it meant lying to Blaze. Even if it meant risking my life for theirs.
With Blaze's last name came great responsibility, incredible power and an ultimatum that would set our world on fire no matter what choice he made.

It was never a matter of if Blaze was going to break my heart. It was only a matter of when.

Delaney Foster's Blaze is an intense, emotionally driven, steamy contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg's Driven Worlds project.

Emotional-riveting- heart clenching
These are the feelings you experience reading Blaze by Delaney Foster.
Once again Miss Foster brings all the feels with her addition to K.Brombergs Driven World Series.
Blaze Abbott -mysterious -guarded - gorgeous. His past rules him. His father wants to control him. But, the woman before him, tempting him, is the one that could bring him to his knees.
Adrienne Maddox has had a childhood most don’t understand and wouldn’t want to experience. Her job is taking care of foster boys at HoH and it’s her life. It makes her feel as if she has the one thing she’s always wanted ...a family. In the course of one evening her life has been changed. The events that follow can and will ignite emotions she locked up.
The chemistry between Adrienne and Blaze is undeniable. The story burns
with passion and complications that make you keep turning each page.
Delaney Foster brings the heat to The Driven World Series with Blaze!!

Blaze is another excellent addition to The Driven World. As soon as I started this I knew I’d not put it down until I’d finished it hence the late night- worth every minute.

Blaze and Adrienne are complete opposites yet they are so suited. My heart broke for what Adrienne had been thrown. My heart beat faster for Blaze- swoon.

The storyline is brilliant. I felt the author pulled me through so many emotions while reading this story. A brilliantly written emotional and raw read. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Blaze by Delaney Foster

5*

‘I push the door open with my free hand. “How are we supposed to have spontaneous Tuesday night sex if you won’t let me in?”

“I wasn’t ready. I didn’t shave.”

I let out a loud growl. “Fucking savage. I love it.”

She laughs and shoves at my chest but lets me inside.’

Blaze is written as part of author K. Bromberg’s Driven World, since it’s been a lifetime since I read those books I was worried I would be lost in regards to this book but Blaze is a complete stand alone, one that made me want to go back and dive into the Driven books all over again.

In Blaze, author Delaney Foster tackles some heart-wrenching life events with remarkable sensitivity and aplomb, infusing them with tenderness, strength and glory. She takes the sad, the heartbreak, the loss and folds in a little humour, huge amounts of love and community and delivers one of the most beautiful, captivating and wonderful slow-burn love stories this year. She does it all by gifting readers these absolutely amazing, well-rounded and multifaceted protagonists, so even though we have a marvelous and dynamic storyline in our vision, we also have a cast of astounding and complex players, from our hero and heroine, to the kids in the foster home and even to the not-so-good-guys, they are never bad for the sake of being bad, or one hundred percent good, they all fall into the grey shadows, making them appear real, flawed and deeply beautiful for it. Their complicated pasts, shape each and every one of them but it’s how they let those past circumstances shape and alter them that defines who they are as people.

Adrienne is without a doubt one of my favourite protagonists. What she has overcome, had to endure to get where she is shows us exactly how courageous, loving and selfless she is. She’s inspirational in every way, yet humble and so down to earth in her surroundings. She doesn’t see herself as a heroine, a superhero to these kids and that makes her all the more alluring. That sweetness, playfulness and need to protect just elevates her character that much more.

Blaze is another profound player in this story. Even though their backgrounds are completely divergent, Blaze - born into indulgence, privilege and luxury - has none of the hallmarks we would associate with that world. He is dedicated, hardworking, grounded, sage and provoking. He’s witty and resplendent, yet he too harbours tragic secrets in his past, that lends a darker energy to his personality. He’s a stirring mixture of light and dark. Somber and scintillating, intoxicating in its diversity. Together, he and Adrienne spark and ignite. Watching them dance around another, arousing and shrewd, sizing each other up, is almost as impressive as when they finally do burn up the sheets together. Author Delaney Foster can write emotive, reflective and highly provocative scenes but when it comes to writing those passionate, all consuming, back against the wall moments, she is queen. Blaze is no different, we get a little dash of everything to create this marvelous and thrilling romance.

Should you be in the market for a beautifully written, wonderfully characterised, slow-burn romance that packs an impressive punch in the drama, love and humor department, then can I interest you in this book? You won’t regret it.

It's been forever since my last Delaney Foster read and after finishing this book I'm starting to wonder wth is wrong with me for waiting so long to pick her up?!?

To say I loved this is such an understatement. I'm not sure who I loved more;Blaze or Adrienne. Both are carrying a lot of hurt with them and you can't help but fall in love in these broken souls. I loved his protective side and her strength. Together they made the demons go away and I couldn't be happier when they finally found HEA in each other's arms.

This story hooked me in on page one, pulling on my heart strings. Then there was a Greek god involved *swoon* and I realized I was only in the first chapter. That chapter turned to another and another until I dragged myself off to bed with 61% of the story consumed.

Imagine a puzzle that's been scattered across the country. Then a piece moves to another location and finds connecting pieces, but the puzzle is still sparse. All the while in another location, a lost puzzle piece has finally connected with some pieces, but it's still incomplete, lacking, lost. Whether it's a 25-piece puzzle or a 1000-piece puzzle, until it comes together it's not whole. Just like two souls that are fumbling thru life, looking successful for all the world to see, but until those two souls finally unite, they aren't whole. I envision Blaze and Adrienne as that puzzle.

This book is heart wrenching on so many levels, in the lives of several of the characters, but still there was so much hope, acceptance, belief, compassion and love! Wonderful characters! Such chemistry between Blaze and Adrienne. I loved Liam's cause and effect throughout! And through this beautiful story, the author has brought awareness to the reader's attention, something that many really know little about.

Be prepared to read BLAZE in one sitting if you start early enough in the day/evening. Have a few tissues on hand. It will hook you with it's intensity and it's people/connection surprises. I might add, I strongly dislike entitled, overbearing, manipulative people. Just saying.

I've read quite a few of this author's works over the past couple of years and I must say that each one is always better than the next. From the story line to the wonderful characters to the characters you love to hate, they are each one better than the next. This book, this story will carry you away and take hold of your heart. I'm not only talking about the two main characters but the kids, yes the kids in the story will definitely tug on your heartstrings.

Now, back to the characters, the lead characters that is. Adrienne is beautiful, smart, caring and has a heart that could hold the love for many more children than the ones she currently cares for. The children are in the system but they aren't in foster homes, they are in a home with caring workers who are raising and caring for them as a family unit. (An amazing thought in itself). Then there is the man himself; Blaze. Hot as the day is long, brooding and successful, a man who has his own past that has left him broken by not one incident but two. When these two meet because of the action of one of Adrienne's wards, the attraction is instant and off the charts. As their attraction grows so do their feelings. It was only supposed to be casual, friends with benefits sort of thing, but once they begin to talk and get to know each other, the both begin to open up to the other and with walls down around their hearts, love sneaks in and plants its roots deep within their souls. Problem is, someone wants one of them to leave their job and take over their business for them and uses the other as leverage to get what they want. Will this really be the end of them, with their relationship go down in a painful blaze?

I loved this book and only put it down because my eyes were drying out and I needed to sleep at 4am! Outstanding read and I really cannot recommend this book highly enough!

When it comes to Adrienne there is no sacrifice too large when it comes to the boys that she cares for as she has been where they are and overcome her past. When one of her charges finds himself on the wrong side of the law it brings Blaze into her life.

Blaze comes from an affluent lifestyle, but he has forged his own path. He is the owner of a successful business which was targeted by Adrienne’s charge but when he meets Adrienne, he wants to help rather than hinder the situation which brings them together in a way that neither expected.
There was no denying the chemistry between them but outside influences may either bring them closer or tear them apart?

Although Blaze and Adrienne’s journey wasn’t without its obstacles it is also filled with heat and emotion which will draw you in from beginning to end.

Blaze and Adrienne’s story was amazing and hooked me from the very first page. These characters are both broken and meet by chance. Adrienne works at a group foster home caring for several young boys. Blaze is a loner and runs his own successful business. When he meets Adrienne he can’t seem to stay away from her. The chemistry between Blaze and Adrienne is palpable. I absolutely loved this story and the characters. A great addition to the Driven Series and one I definitely recommend.

I have to admit, I haven't read any of the other books in the Driven Series, so I went into this one blind. I have, however, watched the Driven episode available on Passionflix - which was great - so I knew the premise of this series in that sense. I am a huge fan of this author and always look forward to reading her work. This book was no exception! I didn't even read the blurb! This book gave me all the feels - so much so that I redid the cover to read "J.L. Leslie licked Blaze" so that I could claim him as mine! You'd have to visit the author's FB group to see the hilarity that ensued from this!

Back to the review - Adrienne and Blaze meet by chance or rather by fate in my opinion. She is what I would call the foster mom to several young boys at a group foster home. It's her passion and her calling and she would do anything for these boys. Blaze runs his own business and is estranged from his family - if you want to know the reasons why you'll have to read the book. He's a loner - until he meets Adrienne and can't seem to stay away from her. Both of them have their reasons for being guarded, for not allowing anyone in, but they can't control their attraction to each other.

"He doesn't want to date. I don't either. I'm just not sure I'm ready to let him inside my soul."

This story is just simply put - amazing. These two characters are real and raw and have flaws and I always love that in a book. I want the realistic story, the story where their road to each other is not paved and doesn't have beds of roses on each side. I like potholes, curves, and dead ends and this book brings all of that along with the comedic banter and sizzling heat that a romance book should have.

I highly recommend Blaze (although I still say I've claimed him) and promise you won't regret picking this one up! While you're at it, grab the authors' other books because you won't regret reading anything she has written!

Delaney hooks you in right from the beginning and you have to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. Adrienne loves her job and all her foster boys at the House of Hope (HOH). Adrienne was a victim of the foster system herself and knows how the boys feel and glad there is the HOH to help them have a family. One night on her night off she gets called in to collect Liam one of the foster boys from the police station. She least expects to run into a greek god Blaze who just happens to be the aggrieved party. She explains Liam's situation and he decides not to press charges if Liam helps him clean up. I can't tell you too much more about the story or it will spoil it for you. Adrienne and Blaze have some hot chemistry between them even though they try to deny it at times.
I received an arc for NNBB for an honest review. Blaze is fast-paced and keeps you hooked you have to keep turning the pages. Delaney gives you all the feels and emotions with this read you won't be disappointed. Another book hangover for me with this read.

Wow. Just wow. My heart... We have Adrienne, an amazingly strong woman. She's fought to be where she is, she's good to her core. Oh and Blaze, my oh my! There's just something about him that draws you in. They each have bits that have been broken, that have made them in to the people that they are today. The story is great, I could not put it down as I was loving every second. There's sweet, heat, intensity, tears, fear. So much. A great read!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Grabs your heart and hammers it till you feel as broken as the characters, but you also feel their strength. Circumstances may be different for both but each is doing everything they can to protect their hearts from being hurt any further, but for one, they don't really register that they have already opened up to hurt with the boys. They give everything they have and would give more to those boys and their well being. This story is true to the vein of K Bronberg's Driven series, the legend of Riley and Colton and their own history with the charity to help foster kids. It is full of pain and angst, but also inspiration and love. Sacrifice to make life better for those most vulnerable but it also ultimately makes them stronger. Moving and gripping story.

This is my first book by Delaney but OMG!!! Love the "Driven World" and this one doesn't disappoint. Adrienne and Blaze have not had a very good past and both of them have decided they are going to be alone and just be happy with their careers. But after meeting they both can't forget the other. They have a lot to work through but will the universe let them work it out together. This is a great story of no matter what your past is, never give up on your future!

If you don't know the difference between a taproom and a bar, you will find out in this book!

Blaze, well if a name matches a character his certainly does! He's a hot man, guarded but warm-hearted.

Adrienne, she's a darling, kind and loving, but with a tough upbringing.

These two together are hot, the office scene was smoking. There's more than steamy scenes though, there's a story of two broken people finding each other. Enjoy.

First and NOT last book I’ve read by Delaney Foster...

This was utterly fantastic. Unputdownable!

Blaze is a Greek god, I will gladly worship. The chemistry between Adrienne and Blaze is super intense.

There’s a lot happening in this book -but you are pulled in and can’t put the book down, totally feel like part of what’s happening.

The boys Adrienne helps raise are great, Liam is special and love how he plays a major part in their story.

This is amazing 🖤❤️

Delaney Foster gives us an amazing slow-burn love story, between Blaze and Adrienne, that is so captivating and beautiful. It pulls on your heartstrings and gives you all the feels. I went through so many emotions with these characters. Sadness, heartbreak, laughter, loss and so much love. Their chemistry is off the charts. You also get their chosen family that you will absolutely adore. Adrienne is one of the strongest females characters that I have read about in a while. The storyline also deals with so many real life issue that we don't often see talked about that you can't help but become absorbed in the story. This is a book you want to pick up and read.

Adrienne and Blaze have being broken in common, caused by very different circumstances. And viewed from very different perspectives in how their brokenness affects their lives. Their story is angsty and hopeful, if they can only each learn to let the other in. I thoroughly enjoyed their story.

Blaze and Adrianne story blazed my kindle!

My goodness. I can typically tell if I am going to like a book or not but the first chapter. I didn't even make it through the first chapter because I found myself consumed in Delany's words.

This is a must grab. It has all the feelings and so much more!
