We speak of peculiarity, uniqueness, and of being distinct & different. But what does that mean? What does it look like? In a world that seems to be losing faith and hope, we must rise above and continue to share Christ, His message, and His light. Do you know Him? Do you know He is here with us today? Do you know He walks here, serves here, and loves here just as He did long ago? He does all this through each of us. And as we come to know Him more, He will be able to continue to use your small efforts and magnify them into something visibly distinct & different. We hear amazing voices from women all around. But too often they are the same voices. Voices we love voices that teach, voices that lift. But still, something is missing. To be distinct & different, unique, and peculiar, we need to hear ALL voices. Within this book, you will find different voices from women around the world who are rising to our Savior’s call! Some voices will resonate with you right now, some maybe not in this season, but a future season. To be A Worldwide Sisterhood we need every distinct & different voice! Whether you connect with a few or all of the voices contained in this book, the main goal of this book is to inspire YOU to understand that you are distinct & different, and YOU are needed! Your voice, your example, your testimony, your faith, and your light is needed right now.
This book is wonderful and was such a treat to read! I found inspiration and value from each of the chapters for distinct and different reasons. I appreciated the unique voices and perspectives of each of the contributors and could tell that it was a labor of love. In fact, it was a pleasant surprise to often find myself feeling the love the Savior has for me as an individual so often as I read. Every voice is needed (those within the book's pages as well as those that are not).
This book is a beautiful celebration of what makes us different as well as what makes us similar. In some chapters, it seemed as if the words echoed my exact feelings at different times in my life. Other chapters, while written by women in very different stages of life than my own, still found a way to touch my heart and inspire me.
I loved reading this book! Each chapter was written by a woman who shared her faith in Jesus Christ, who shared her heart, and gave encouragement for each of us to find our voice and share our own faith and testimonies. If you are looking for a book to bring your heart hope, to feel connected to women of faith, to feel empowered to share your voice, this is it. I loved the way this book was written too, because as a busy mom, I don't always have time to read for hours, so a chapter at a time was perfect. Each chapter left me inspired. I know you'll love this book.
This is a remarkable collection of personal essays by women of diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Women who, in the crucible of their own life experiences have come to know God, and testify boldly of the reality of His grace and goodness. Testifying with great doctrinal clarity, and drawing upon the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the over-arching message is one of the distinct power and strength that comes to women who rely upon the merits of Jesus to face the headwinds of life.
Just like it references that each of us are distinct and different, so are the authors of each chapter. Each author does a wonderful job of offering hope, encouragement, and love. We each are called to be a light to those around us, to help uplift others, and this book magnifies that. I appreciated the testimonies given while also highlighting the difficulties that come in mortality. I found it very relatable.
I never knew I could feel such a deeply profound sense of connection and community through reading a book until reading this one. Each testimony spoke to me in different ways, yet each page I turned left me feeling the same: inspired, uplifted, seen, loved. I am forever grateful for the impact this book has left in my heart, and cannot recommend it enough.
I read this slowly, savoring and digesting the truths within. Such good stuff. And yet I have a beef. Many of the authors were very vulnerable and shared beautiful personal stories- which I loved! BUT THEY DIDN’T FINISH THEM. They rarely shared the conclusion, the ‘look at me now’ moment.
