Making Memories

Rate this book
After an auto accident changes her life, Kelly Wilmont moves back to her hometown of Masonville, Indiana. Feeling discouraged and abandoned by God, Kelly tries to move on with her new life and forget what has happened to her, but it isn’t easy.

Then she runs into an old friend from high school at the local grocery store—only to have him act as if he doesn’t even know who she is. When Kelly learns why he acts that way, her own physical limitations and embittered past are suddenly thrown into perspective—especially when he asks for her help.

Michael Callahan is a man without a past. When Kelly comes into his life, Michael isn’t sure what to think about the auburn-haired beauty who has obviously been hurt by life. When an opportunity to get to know her better comes about, Michael takes advantage of it in the hopes he can discover the reason behind the sadness he sees in her eyes.

“Making Memories” is the story of two scarred and hurt people and how God can use circumstances to bring his children together and heal them. Like all of Ruth Kyser's books--a feel-good story that will touch your heart.

Sweet read

Interesting plot in this one. A stroke at such a young age from a blood clot is not very likely without prior trauma but it made for unique twist on the old high school crush plot.

Why can't everyone have a Michael? lol

When I started this story, I wasn't sure how believable, real or relatable the characters would be. I'm so glad I stuck with it! Ruth has a thing about her female characters having red hair, which I love!! (Red head here!!). I loved the character Kelly. She's from Indiana (so am I), she has a disability (so do I). Everything that Kelly thought or felt about her disability has been the exact same things I've thought & felt. We've all had that "bitchy friend" from high school that can tear you down so quickly, even after graduating 10 years prior! Words can hurt!! Overall, I loved the story!

Making Memories

I've been out of high school for 53 years and I don't remember a lot from those days. Too much is going on in the present to keep going back. I haven't been to a class reunion since my first ten years out of high school. There's only one person from then I periodically talk with.

A Sweet Surprise

Kelly was injured in an accident. She didn't think she would find a reason to smile again. Until she ran into her old classmate, Michael. Can Michael help her smile again?

A true princess wedding

What another great story by Ruth, this was about 2 tragedy accidents that brought 2 high school friends together helping each heal. In the end God blessed them to get married. A wonderful story to the end and such a Christian story.
