It feels like I've been waiting to read Red's story since we first met her back in My Bloodline! Her constant sibling-like back and forth with Oscar and the guys was always so entertaining! As the series went on, KC made sure that her readers were well aware that there was more going on behind the scenes than what we were seeing from the perspective of the Steeles, which makes sense seeing as they had so much of their own stuff going on. But I was also a bit confused as to why Red never confided in Luna about her potential men. I realize now that she is a lot more private than I initially thought, and knowing how protective the guys were about her when there "weren't any guys" in the picture, I can understand not wanting to subject someone to that if she could avoid it, or at least until the relationship was serious enough to be worth mentioning.
From the beginning, I fell in love with Red's sunshine energy and enjoyed watching her grow to be more confident over time. After getting to see a bit into her life I love her even more, likely because I see much more of myself in her than I did with Luna. Her love of reading for one, duh, her science skills, her bubbly and kind personality, and even her fashion sense. One thing that did surprise was how traumatic her home life was, it's honestly a wonder how she turned out as great as she did given her toxic mother. Her determination to be stronger and more confident so she could take control of her own life had me rooting for her and made all of her combat training take on a whole new meaning.
One thing I did not expect but surprisingly still loved was that some of her relationships had some instalove vibes which I'm not usually a fan of. However, in this case I thought it was adorable that these men were falling head over heels for Red the second they met her! I cannot explain how precious it was seeing these guys all be completely smitten and fumbling over their words whenever they were around her! I had already liked her harem from the sneak peeks we got in Luna's trilogy but seeing it from this perspective helped to add more depth to all of the characters and their relationships!
I think that the main reason this wasn't a five star read for me was due to the storytelling limitations that we had from the get go. What I mean is that the timeline of this book was the same as Luna's trilogy so there wasn't a ton of freedom when it came to expanding her story because we already knew all a lot of what would happen in general because we already saw it Luna's story. I also think that having a pretty good idea of what would be happening next took some of the excitement out of it. Now that we're all caught up, I'm so so excited to see where her story will go now that we have no idea what will happen next! 🤭
Speaking of, freaking West, you were always one of my favorites but then you had to go and keep secrets, AGAIN! You think you wold have learned how that would end after seeing it blow up in your face with Luna but noooooo. You had to go and hurt Red in the process this time. I know you didn't mean it and that you had good intentions but man do I hope someone hits you in the head cause clearly you need it! 🤦🏼♀️

I loved getting to know the guys in a different way and seeing them from Jess’s perspective. Especially Aidan. He was an absolute delight. I can’t wait to see how the next book ends. Things escalated, and it’s going to be intense! A stalker, crazy teachers, and an obsessive mom are all coming for Jess.
Red all takes place in the past and fills in Red’s private moments that took place in book 3 of Luna’s story. KC did a great job keeping true to the original story we were told from Luna and her guys’ POVs, but added to it. Very well done. Can’t wait to see how Maverick, West, and Aiden win our girl over in her conclusion.
Jessica deserves so much love, and I am so happy she’s making her way to getting it.

Not me currently doing a re-read of this to finish Red's story and getting kinda annoyed with Luna and her guys.😂 The men are far more tolerable during my second read!
I've never felt anything towards Red even from Luna's story. Like sure, she's a nice friend..but there was nothing particularly interesting about her.
In this book you find out more about her like her perfectionist mother and her need to live more differently than what's expected of her.
The one thing I connected with Red was her love for reading! I loved how she always went back to reading no matter what happened! It felt so real and so damn relatable especially with her love for reading reverse harems!!
To be honest, I'm not a fan of the three guys. I don't know..they don't hit the same way like Luna's guys did..it feels like there's something missing..I don't know what!
I'm not too sure if I want to continue with this series. But damn..if it's to see even a single scene with Luna and the guys then well damn, I'll give it a try once it comes out!

This book was absoloutley brilliant and hilarious. I laughed out loud soo many times 😂 I don't even know where to start.. my head is still reeling from that explosive ending 😟😟 .... I ABSOLOUTLEY LOVE RED!! She is one of my favourite characters, I loved her from the very first Featherstone academy book 🙌🏼 this book recaps what happened in Luna's books but all from Reds, Wests, Mavericks and Aidens POV. The ending is where we got left on the last Featherstone book with a tiny but explosive snippet more!!! 🙈😬🤐 now I'm 1000% ready for the next book because it'll be solely about Red and not following last books storyline. I have no idea what to expect and I love it!! 😈😜... we got lots of HOT 🔥 scenes with our guys and Jess.... I'm shook at one of the guys, he has some explaining to do with that little bomb dropped at the end! But now that its all out in the open (kind of) I can't wait to see Lunars and the other guys reactions.. well, apart from Oscar as we've already just witnessed his reaction 🙈😂 love him... I apologise if none of this makes sense as I write my reviews as soon as I put the book down so my emotions are running high and I type everything out as it comes to my head 😂 you can only imagine how jumbled my head is after this book. Was SO EFFING GOOD!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Red. How I love you ❤️ You went from Lunas sassy best friend to the most amazing main character. Jess is fierce, loyal, relatable and overall an amazing woman. I want to be her and have her outlook on life. And please have a peak at her Kindle library 🙏🏻
I loved diving back into the Featherstone world and seeing all the things that went on behind the scenes in the first three books.
The adoration, love, protection and passion from her guys is everything. And to read their POV was the icing on the cake of love.
KC Kean you just know how to keep a reader on the edge of the metaphorical seat! You delivered on angst, passion, heartache and damn you know how to write passion and the hottest scenes.
And that was an epic cliffhanger! I cannot wait for Freedom in February.
These books have been some of my favourites this year and I just have one more thing to say: Read it, you will love it ❤️

OMG!!!! I absolutely loved it!!! It was so wonderful getting to see Jess have her story told from her view. The story, the men and the suspense were amazing. It totally kept you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen next. It definitely did not disappoint. But can I just say WTH with that Cliffhanger woman!! Wow, it makes you want to throw something but at the same time you are already itching to have the next book. I cant wait to read more about Jess and her men and how much more their story unfolds. Thank you for writing such an incredible series KC Kean. You are truly an amazing writer. I highly recommend this book!!!

Featherstone is my favourite criminal academy
So after falling in love with these characters in My Bloodline I knew I would have to read Jessica’s story. And it is amazing. If you’ve read the other Featherstone world books then you need these too! The plot is brilliant, the characters are addictive and the writing is perfection.

Ok so everyone knows I love just about anything KC Kean writes.
And this is no exception.
Hot dam Red and her WAM sandwich! I mean serious!
“Do you know how fucking hot it is that you know what you want and refuse to mold yourself to meet other people’s standards?” He breathes out against my lips, and his words set me on fire. Threading my fingers through the blonde hair at the back of his head, I pull him back in, loving the taste of his lips against mine. “Do you want your prize now, beautiful?” He asks, and I nod eagerly.
West; Oh ive had a crush on this guys since book 1. I thought he would have made it into Luna Harem but now im glad he didnt. He needed someone like Jessica. He needed someone to look after, not someone who could look after themselves.
I love that Red fell for him instantly as well!
“As if feeling my gaze on him, his eyes find mine. My breath stutters in my chest, leaving me frozen in place. I’m sure my mouth is gaping wide open, but I can’t seem to close it. Someone walks straight into him, or him into them, I’m not sure, but our intense moment is broken.”
Maverick: oh now this one is my Book Boyfriend in the series. Hot dam. Older, Sexy as hell, alpha male, demanding, broken and a total jerk. !00% mine. I love my men when they demand, then when the girl breaks them they show the sweetest side to her but the rest of the world gets a bullet in the Brian. Total swoon!
”Focusing on the unknown number, I try to figure out who is trying to apologize to me. Me: Who is this? It feels like I’m waiting forever for a response, as the three little dots appear and disappear repeatedly until a text finally comes through. Unknown: Maverick’
Aidan: Now this one I didnt see coming. I thought he was gay. Nope bi sexual and totally in love with red. I love that he falls so hard for her he cannot even get his head around it all. Totally open with his sexuality and ok will one night stands, he finds himself shocked that he cannot even think of anyone else. I love him! He is so much like Oscar, and the way he talks is just sop funny! Im glad that Maverick is also Bi so we got some super spicy chapters!

And by someone, I mean people of any gender. I actually tend to lean more towards guys because they don’t expect more and hang it over my head like girls do. Red: I loved this chick from book 1. I loved how she became friends with luna without even blinking. I also love how she gives so freely and sent take a dam thing. You never seen this side of her in the first 3 books, but now I see a side of her I love even more. And those crutches undies are a super cool touch. Sweet as pie on the outside but wearing lingerie underneath. Hot as!
“But I wouldn’t even offer you mouth to mouth if you needed it because you make me feel like nothing, and I’ve had enough of that in my life already. I know my worth, even if you don’t. So, fuck you.”
I love the way K.C.Kean writes. I love reverse Harem books! And the fact that she throws in the MM action has me loving her even more. I understand its not something a lot of people are into, but you never know unless you try.

EEEEK! Red is a strong fierce character and she captured my heart!

I thought my heart was complete reading the bloodline series, but then BAM Kc Kean captures my heart in a completely different but familar way with Red's story and her WAM boys!
What is not to love about Maverick, West & Aiden each are completely hot and saucy with passion, love and loyalty to Red. Each of their characters make you fall a little bit more in love with them. This book has some serious angst, passion and heartache and some seriously HOT scenes PHEWWW 🥵🥵
Yet in the same breath battling the everyday carnage of Featherstone Academy.
For me i loved connecting the dots from Red's perspective and Luna's journey which had me gasping at many points...
That ending has left me with my jaw hanging, i have so many unanswered questions, theories and WHYYY KC KEAN WHY!!
Featherstone series is one my top 5 series to read and i am thankful for stumbing across these during lockdown! No matter how much i love each character Parker is my main man ❤

Meh
I was really looking forward to this after Luna's spectacular story but I gotta admit I was disappointed. It felt less like a real story and more of a fill-in-the-gaps on what happened with Jess during the previous three books. It felt disjointed and rushed and relied too much on knowledge of the other books instead of really feeling things as a cohesive story from a new perspective. That said, the plot set-up for the next book looks great and, given it no longer overlaps Luna's story, will hopefully be back to the depth of characters and story I've come to expect from the first three books.

I would say that The Featherstone Academy series was by far my number 1 series read of 2020 and it was about half way through My Bloodline when I was like damn my girl Jess needs her own book with some hot ass men and then the ever so fabulous KC Kean delivers RED!
Let me tell you I absolutely adored Jess in Luna’s story Jess has that under estimated strength. You really get to see who Jess is and what she wants for herself. Jess wants to be cared for, wanted, loved and deserves every bit of her happily ever after. She is completely bold and straight forward with her wants and needs and it makes her way more sexy! Jess absolutely comes alive.
Maverick, West and Aiden oh man just yummy.. They are completely perfect for Jess they make each other whole her light to their darkness. I would say that The Featherstone Academy series was by far my number 1 series read of 2020 and it was about half way through My Bloodline when I was like damn my girl Jess needs her own book with some hot ass men and then the ever so fabulous KC Kean delivers RED!

I like this book too. Figures I mean it's the same series. I'm still confused why Oscar seems to think he has the right to dictate who red gets to canoodle with. I'm like expecting some surprise twist saying that Oscar and her brother and sister something lol. I have a feeling that's not going to happen but you know your mind kind of takes away especially with that last scene between him and maverick. I'm not going to run it for you you can go and read the book and find out yourself lol. I really really really really want her to marry w but I have this feeling that it's going to be either MRA and well I'm not saying it sucks I mean they could all three for whatever get married but I just really like it to be w but we're not going to find out until the next book so that's where I'm heading. This book was everything I wished it would be, Jess (Red ) is as kick arse as we new her to be, her strength and courage to go after what she wants is awesome. Fake it till you make it, she grows so much and it's great reading her side of the friendship with Luna and her boys. Can't wait for the next one arrrggggggg....man Red she owns what she wants, so many wicked moments in this book so well written oh I loved Red.....Get it buy away peoples it's soo great you'll love it just like the other books and Reds men ohh so good .

I absolutely LOOOOVED what little bit of Jess there was in the first three books, and was beyond excited when I saw she was getting her own. KC did not let me down whatsoever!!
Red is freaking phenomenal and fills in all the gaps missing from Luna's books perfectly. Jess's story is literally the perfect balance of angst, heartache, and steam (helloooo West, Maverick, and Aiden!!!!!), even while she deals with all the drama and the literal bloodbath that is Featherstone.
That being said, WTF KC!?!?!?!?! How are you gonna just let it end like that?!?!?!?!??? I need Freedom ASAP!

I would have enjoyed this better if it wasn't just a recap of the first 3 books, but in Jess's POV. It didn't begin where the last one ended. I think I will enjoy the next one, though, because it will be just her POV and new story line.

I can’t stop reading this series. It’s amazing! Love how it run through Luna’s story but with what’s going on the Jess/Red. Jess and her RH books is great and it was hot when they replayed the scene. Cliffhanger ending but the next book is out so diving right in.

What the crap was that????
Going from Warrior FMC Luna to Damsel Red was hard enough…but from Lunas books, I was still excited to read Reds story because of her spunky, funny, breath of fresh air personality, I felt like it would fill in the giant holes some where her Warrior side should be and worst case scenario I still get Maverick, so yes please!!!
Honestly until 90% of this book was read and I was a sucker ready for the next one…. I was all in. Hooked!!
Even with her less skilled self…she also offered me a few things that Luna and her guys never did…..
#1 + Most Important is Maverick!!!!
I’ve screamed it since the first time he was even mentioned in Lunas books and by god he has not disappointed me one bit.
He is right up top with my All Time Book Boyfriend Jude and that’s hard to do but Maverick is king!!!! Yumm Yes!! Maverick +Jude ….man Heaven!
#2- Was how Red takes time to wooo her guys with lingerie and her own very very awesome ideas for Spicey stuff, ideas and honestly her submissive dainty side is super hot with this group!!! All 4 of them get 5stars for sure and I hope there’s more in the next book!!!!

I do hope she either, Sentimental’s the heck up physically and mentally so she can hold her own and fight her own battles, learns a good lesson on being ungrateful and how Karma really works, learns a little more of how bad the world she’s in is because acting like a pampered princess that doesn’t want this life isn’t an option at all. The only way out is death so…. Grow up.

Red and her guys are the perfect book boyfriends. Especially whenever they act out the scenes from her books that she likes to read.
Most of this book is told the same time as Luna's three books but obviously it's sped up a lot faster. We obviously find out more things that happen on Jess side, the very beginning where we see what Jess's family life is and the very end is where we get the new information it takes place from the cliffhanger at the end of Luna's third book.
Red. I would rather be sitting around reading books then doing anything else. So I automatically love Jess. I do hate how her mom has tried to put her in this bubble and make her something that she clearly isn't even when her mom isn't what she's trying to make jess. I'm so glad we get to see her come out of her shell but more on her side than Luna's side. The way she sticks up for herself and is a total badass at sticking up for herself once she gets to the college and meets Luna. Can we also have a moment to talk about how she showed the boys up at the gun range because they never asked her if she knew how to shoot.
West. I always loved west's character even in Luna stories but I did not ever think that West was good for Luna. And now we know why because he is perfect for Jess and her little group of guys. Although I am very upset with a secret that was held from Jessica. She definitely should have known about that.
Aiden. I love his SASS and his personality. He is absolutely amazing especially with his love for both guys and girls. I love the relationship that he has with his sister.
Maverick. This man. The attention that he has to consent where he will not take it if it's a head not it has to be words is one of the greatest things that I have ever read in a book. He is straight daddy vibes especially when he just takes charge of Aiden. Especially the group scene where they reenact the scene from Jess's book.
The stalker. This is Gina. No other question about it. And she just so happens to be at the fight night where Maverick takes Jess. I think Gina saw how the owners of the club was watching Maverick and she approached them to tell them who jess was so they can kidnap her so that Gina could take Jess's Place between Maverick and west.

Red is the fourth book in Feartherstone Academy, and it is focused on the first three books' secondary characters Red, Maverick, Aiden and West. This book is a major filler for the previous three, giving insight and complementing things we've seen before. Though sometimes it got boring reading the same thing that I've literally just read in book #3 (because I've read them both the same day, so maybe that's on me) I understood why it had to be like that. The author needed to fill the gaps with the secondary characters so she could turn them into main characters instead. By the end of the book, Featherstone wasn't about just Luna and her guys, but rather about Luna, Jessica and all of their sexy men.
I've said it in my previous reviews, I simply love Jessica aka Red. Is it wrong that I like her more than main girl Luna? Maybe, but true nevertheless. Luna isn't bad by any means and I quite like her as well, but I find Jess to be the better character of the two. All of the guys, we've met before: Maverick is a tutor at the Academy, a brooding gloomy asshole that keeps trying to fight his attraction towards Red. West is also a tutor, but a much sweeter and caring one. He wants to make his sunshine happy, and the way he acts around her is super cute. Aidan is Featherstone's mega player, the guy who doesn't get attached to anyone and makes everything about sex, but Red crawls her way into his life and he finds himself wrapped around her little finger. The dinamic between these four is actually pretty funny, when Maverick creates a group chat with the other two guys I found myself laughing at how childish yet cute they were acting over Red.
The ending got me shook, and I cannot wait for the fifth book to arrive in late february. My girl Jess needs more smut in her life, and I can only hope the next part of her story will feature some crazy hot sex, because what we had here wasn't nearly enough. 5/5 stars.

So this is interesting. It's basically Books 1-3 from Red's perspective and the goings-on that were happening with her outside of what Luna was going through. The end of Book 3 (involving Luna) sincs up at the end of Book 4 (involving Red) and it takes a turn I was NOT expecting.
And while I would most definitely give this book a 4 star rating (or even a 5 star rating) if it was a standalone, I honestly just can't get past all the repetition of information we already know...despite it being a really cool concept AND we're getting to see a bunch of insight into the storyline that we didn't get from Book 1-3.
--Rating - 3 star - repetitive to the storylines in Books 1-3, but outside that it's SO cool.
--Steam - 5 stars - K.C. has gotten really good throughout the series and it seems like each book raises the bar.
--Plot Twists - 3 stars - while Red has a crazy turn of events towards the end of the book, the majority is literally everything we learned in Book 1-3.
--Emotional Pull - 2 stars - pretty stagnant
--Writing - 3 star - well written and comfortable to read. but again...repetition. Literally whole sections repeated in their entirety from Books 1-3.
--Denouement - 3 stars - we do in fact find out some interesting new insights around the original story, but nothing in wrapped up fully by the end of the book

So this is the first book in Red’s Duet and I’ll admit I felt that disconnect and kind of flat retelling of the first 3 books but from Red, West, Aiden, and Maverick’s POVs. It was a bit jumbled and I didn’t really connect with the characters or plot until we’ll past the halfway mark.
Then it started getting good. REAL GOOD. The steamy scenes were steamy (thank you Red for your RH kindle reads on page that inspired that one scene 🥵🤣) and the romance began to take shape. Red was a sweet, timid young woman who wanted to be strong. She had some tricks up her sleeve I loved (gun range) but for the most part things just happened around her and someone else either took care of it or she was sheltered from it. Until that ending! I really REALLY hope she quits talking and starts acting in the second book. I need that strong FMC arc.
The guys were a bit jumbled and awkward but I saw the chemistry and it got so freaking…easy and sexy and addictive. Until that ending. I’m like, psycho OW, Lies, And then that cliffy? I’m not to happy with WAM right now.
That’s it. I didn’t not like this book. I did like it, a lot. But I needed more and I think I’m going to get that in Freedom so off to the next book!

I loved Jess in Luna’s stories but now we get to love Jess even more in her own story!
Jess / Red’s story starts just prior to arriving at Featherstone. If you haven’t read the first three books you will find parts of this book a little confusing. The story assumes you know the background story BUT this is Red’s story not Luna’s so there is no need for it to go in-depth. The background definitely helps as you may be wanting more info. I struggled with this a little at first mainly because I wanted more / different / expanded perspectives of what happened in Luna’s story but I kept reminding myself this is not Luna’s story it’s Red’s. There is definitely nothing wrong with this but it was more to give you a heads up (that was the tiny maybe spoiler).
The glimpses we saw of Red in the Bloodline stories comes to to full life in “Red”. In “Red” we see the complete Jess - who she wants to be and her trying to break the mould she has been placed into in order to become who that person is. We see her struggles and her inner strength. We see her humorous side. We see her. We see her desires. We also see West, Aiden and Maverick. #WAM
This was a great follow up the the first three books and I cannot wait for Freedom. Thanks again KC Kean for your awesome writing skills.

I struggled with this a little at first mainly because I wanted more / different / expanded perspectives of what happened in Luna’s story but I kept reminding myself this is not Luna’s story it’s Red’s. There is definitely nothing wrong with this but it was more to give you a heads up (that was the tiny maybe spoiler).
The glimpses we saw of Red in the Bloodline stories comes to to full life in “Red”. In “Red” we see the complete Jess - who she wants to be and her trying to break the mould she has been placed into in order to become who that person is. We see her struggles and her inner strength. We see her humorous side. We see her. We see her desires. We also see West, Aiden and Maverick. #WAM
This was a great follow up the the first three books and I cannot wait for Freedom. Thanks again KC Kean for your awesome writing skills.

Another Amazing Featherstone book - I cant get enough!
This book concentrates on Jessica “Red” Watson and what she has been up to on the sidelines of Luna and the guys lives. It runs from just before Jessica starts at the academy and meets Luna and runs along the side of the first three. The first three gave us little hints and clues about Reds life and her love interests without detracting from the main story there, which I think was a great choice by the author.
So Red is the most amazing loyal person, she’s feisty yet gentle, naughty yet nice and she is learning how to be her true self and I love it, it’s taken me about forty years so she’s doing great.
I’m not going to say much about her guys just in case you don’t know who they but so far I am loving them all and I can’t wait to find out more about them, spend more time with them and watch their continued dynamic. More phone group chat is needed, I’ve loved this in all the books!
There’s intrigue and mystery in the book and I loved the way the story set up for the next book which I cannot wait for. No spoilers from me, highly recommended reading.

Red, you naughty thing.
This is the story of Jessica (aka Red) the bff of Luna Moon from the first three Featherstone Academy books. Red's story runs parallel to Luna's, so we're reading a similar story, just from an alternate viewpoint. I had some suspicions about our little Red. She seemed so sweet, but she was actually a naughty little vixen!
It's hard being the bff of someone who is constantly in danger, especially when that danger seeps into your own life. But it's not just Luna's enemies threatening Red; some sinister notes appear at her flat and the looming presence of her evil mother are always hanging over her. At least she's made some friends that are boys...to help protect her and give her some "special" attention. Steam Alert!
This was a great read. I loved seeing the world through Red's eyes and related to her more than Luna. I, too, was a naive smiling girl who wished for more at 18. I don't think this book could be read as a standalone, so if you want to give this a try, you should read the first three Featherstone Academy books. Of course this ended on a cliffhanger, but the great news is that the next book will be out in a few days!
