This is the story of Johnny Lametti, formerly the leader of his family and now number 2 of Roque Salvatore. He loses everything after being betrayed by the woman he loves, Christine, who is an undercover agent, looking for revenge for her parents.
John cannot forget how much he loves her despite everything and continues to mourn her, until Roque confesses that she is still alive, that he has her captive and that he gives Johnny one last chance to win her over and convince her to not hand them over the FBI again.
Johnny tries to make her see how happy they could be together, and Christine hesitates between what she has to do and her heart wants to do.
It’s a story with more sex than the previous one but also with less angst.
Chloe also plays an important role in the union of these 2 characters and I’m dying to read her story.

The Number 2 Guy novella is an offshoot of the Salvatore Syndicate Trilogy and the story of Johnny Lamatti, Roque Salvatore's 2nd in command. There is just as much angst with Johnny and Christine as there was with Roque and Romina! We find out how Johnny became the #2 guy. Christine is one strong female character and even in the worst of times, doesn't take any of his crap! Loved the twist ending too! I highly recommend this quick read!

I have been waiting for Johnny and Christine story since The Chase and like always I was not disappointed. Johnny was next in line to his family empire and Christine committed the ultimate betrayed and both of them had a death sentence. Johnny was safe by his best friend who also kept Christine prisoner for her sins. When Johnny discovered that Christine is a life he save her from her captivity to punish her himself. This story is steamy, dark with a happily ever after.

The #2 Guy by Jax Hart is part of the Salvatore Syndicate Series. In this book it's Johnny and Christine's story. As with the other books in the series, this story is not the typical romance. Johnny and Christine's relationship is intense with a mix of unorthodox. There is plenty of steam between the two. The #2 Guy is a well-paced book. A wonderful edition to the series.

Johnny had everything with Christine, or so he thought. Years after her betrayal Johnny sees Christine again. Will Johnny be able to get past the bitterness and hatred he feels for her and try again? No spoilers! I loved Johnny’s character! A gritty, intense, and steamy read and one I recommend.

Johnny and Christine have a lot to overcome. Luckily for Johnny, their intense chemistry makes it almost impossible for her to turn him down, but he has to win over her heart AND punish her for her betrayal. The sweetest ending.
