Once again, Ms. Delta James has penned a page-turning, action-packed, romantic suspense filled shifter tale. Whether you have read her Wayward Mates series or not, the story will read well as a stand-alone. If you did read Wayward Mates, the story takes place many years into the future; a plague has ravished the earth, things are returned to the old ways, before technology.
NOTE: This is a post-apocalyptic dark shifter romance. It contains explicit sex scenes and may seem like non-con or dubious consent—but it is the way of life among these shifters---especially when they are fated mates. It is a way of life, with a strong, dominant alpha male and an equally strong submissive female who eventually capitulates and finds the pleasure in his control and mastery over her body. Yes, it even comes with the coveted HEA ended.
The story is the fourth of the elemental dragon shifters and will be Seth, the Fire Dragon. He is also the one that was known to enjoy women frequently. When he returns to Stone Fire, he will have two women at his ready to slake his long-overdue lust. But after the first one, he will be attacked. His assassin will escape, and he must go after them, but what he finds is a shock; it isn’t a man but a woman.

The story also brings a danger that will have the four dragons and the alpha wolves together to fight evil. It will be good versus evil, and this is the battle that decides the future. It was fun seeing all the alpha wolves, their mates, the dragons, and their mates all working together.
While Caitlyn may have wanted to kill Seth initially, she has great respect for him and he for her. He teaches her how to fly, being positive, and even agreeing to allow her to be with him in battle. Unlike the other dragons, he has waited to breed her because of the immortality issue.

This is the first book I have read in the Lord series and I want to read them all now!! Seth and Caitlyn really balanced each other out. Seth is dominate and all alpha but he is more laid back than his brothers. Caitlyn is strong and feisty just like all of the other mates but she is very independent and strong willed. The chemistry between the two will singe you and make your blood boil. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!

Legend says anyone who breaches the defenses of the Storm Fire fortress, kills the dragon lord, and cuts his heart out, becomes Lord of the Realm. Caitlyn intends to do just that, and make it a sanctuary for women.
Seth awakens from his long slumber, and heads home to Storm Fire castle. When he arrives, the tower is not in good repair, and it has been stripped of any valuables. The only thing left is his Great Hall, as well as his private stash of arms and spirits. Disappointed at not being properly greeted, Seth goes to his bailey, and announces himself. The dragon lord has returned.
He is attacked twice, and his assailant smells of the distinctive scent of the true hearts of the Lords of Fire. He never believed there was a true heart for him, but now that he has found Caitlyn, he will never let her go. He admires her will and fire, and while he does not understand why she flees him, he knows he will sire incredible warriors with her. He makes her his drakaina, and she becomes his lover and his mate...his beloved and his comrade.
There is a great battle coming and all the dragon lords and their drakainas, as well as the wolf lords and their mates must rise to the challenge.
Although this book may be read as a stand alone, it is the finale of the series, and is more enjoyable if they are read in order. This book nicely ties up the series. It of course has Delta James' signature hot and rough sex scenes, a feisty heroine, and a strong man to stand by her side. Delta's books just keep getting better and better, and this is no exception.

I loved this book. Seth is an interesting character. He still demands that Caitlyn obey him, but he is more relaxed than his brother dragons in terms of what she can where and if she can fight. Caitlyn originally wanted to kill the Firelord so that she could become lord of the keep. That didn't work too well, she just got spanked. After we read about Caitlyn and Seth's story, we join up with all the dragons and wolves and their mates to fight the vampyr, Sir Nickolas. I am going to miss this series of books, but I can't wait to read what the author comes up with next!

I enjoyed the story, it is well written and holds your attention. One of the last dragons, Seth has awakened and within a matter of hours has an attempt made on his life. Caitlyn is caught and Seth realizes she is his true heart but she refuses to accept him as a mate and fights him at every turn. As Caitlyn and Seth begin to solidify their relationship, the danger that has been foreseen is upon them as the wolves join the upcoming fight. There is a lot of action in this story which makes for a great read and I would highly recommend this book.

I loved this book. Seth and Caitlyn are well matched characters. He demands obedience, but he is more laid back than his brother dragons. She is as feisty as the other mates but they find their way.
After we read their story, we join up with the other dragons, the wolves and their mates to fight the vampyr, Sir Nickolas.
I will to miss this series but I know she will come up with more shifter stories to enjoy, and if not they are all worth rereading.

A terrific read to end this series. I absolutely adored Seth and Caitlyn, they were such a well matched couple. From the first page until the last I was caught up in their story. Their story was steamy, intense, and filled with hot heat, sparks flying, discipline, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. An amazing read and incredible end to this series.

Finally the vapid vampyr got his rewards. I thought the tyrant who killed Caitlin's sister would be more of a challenge. Although next to a fire Dragon that is a difficulty. Seth was not going to take any sass from his mate and I swear she loved being punished.

This book was intense and steamy. There's plenty of tension and sparks flying between Seth and Caitlyn. Sure it's over the top, pushes boundaries and features some content that is not for all readers but I also thought that there were some tender emotions and a certain sweetness too. If you enjoy your books with high heat, D/s and scenes of discipline, you'll want to heck this one out. This is my forthright, volitional review.

Wow this was one amazing story. I really think this may be the best one yet from the author. I so enjoyed how different and interesting the storyline and the characters are. A hit for me!

I got further along reading this book than I usually do for these latest book from Delta James. Still the same troupe, strong independent female who couldn't be tames just needed to find the right dominate male to scratch her itch and turn her into pink barbie. This story dragged out a bit more than the other books, I stopped after the H and h hooked up. Meh C+

Firelord is the fourth and final book of Delta James' Dragon Shifter Series. I enjoyed reading it the most out of all four books. There were two main reasons that this book stood apart for me in the series. My first reason were the two main characters, Caitlyn and Seth. Both of these characters seemed to be written with a lot of depth. Their background stories were more complex and layered. Caitlyn was a determined and strong female who was well trained in the art of war. She had been trained for the sole purpose of killing off the last of the Elemental Dragons. She was doing this not only to save her people but as a power play to take down an evil man who had caused death and hardship to her family. She felt that if she could show her strength by killing the Dragon Shifter and then killing the evil man, that her people would want her as the ruler of her township. Seth was one of the more likable shifters of the series. He was misunderstood by his brothers and there was more to him than just an alpha dominate male. He was also strong and protective but he had the ability to reason and think things through. He knew that Caitlyn was his one true mate but he also recognized her as the skilled warrior that she was trained to be. He welcomed her as a life partner and treated her with respect.
The second reason this book stood out was the story line. It wasn't just a love story but an epic adventure with an abundance of action. There were a lot of secondary characters that were brought back from the other three books of the series. We not only got to visit with other Dragon shifters and drakainas but the wolf shifters and a few vampyrs. This was a whole lot of story that took me by surprise. I highly recommend this book and look forward to new series by this author. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful read, once you start you will find it impossible to put it down until the end
This is a wonderful story covering the final dragon and his mate within the four Elemental dragons. Seth is the last of the dragon shifters to arise from his centuries old sleep when he detects the scent of his mate Caitlin who had then proceeded to attempt to kill him with an arrow forged in dragons fire.
When Seth eventually catches up with her, he is determined to show her the error of his ways and as he has never before taken a maid to his bed, he finds the fact that she’s his mate is a totally different experience.
As the threat from the Horde is now very much an immediate threat the Dragons and their mates along with the Wolf shifters and their mates have all now come together to fight along side each other. Also, Jean Christoph a wolf shifter alpha and his mate Emma have come with one thing in mind and that is to fight against Sir Nickolas the Vampire Sire that had changed Emma without her consent.
As the relationship between Seth and Caitlin grows and the change from human to Drakania and the proceeds to teach her every thing she needs to know as his mate to ensure she is able to keep herself safe both in the air and on the land
I can assure you that you will be totally blown away by this dramatic story and all that it entails as everything is simply wonderful and you will enjoy every moment of this wonderful story.

Sadly this is last & final addition to an absolutely enthralling, post-apocalyptic dragon shifter series & if you like to read dragon shifter romances then this is the book for you. It is the 4th book in the series & is set in the same era as the “Wolflord “series but it can be read as a standalone although I would definitely recommend reading the series for maximum enjoyment. It has a strong, extremely well-written plot with good world building & has some intriguing events that are well-described. The characters are quite complex individuals with volatile personalities & are rather confrontational but ultimately they complement each other. There is good support from the secondary characters.
It is about: a feisty female (Caitlyn) with ulterior motives is quite determined to kill a arrogant Elemental Dragon (Seth, the Lord of Fire) but sadly (according to her) the attempt did not succeed but the situation changes when Seth decides that Caitlyn is his mate naturally she is definitely not too impressed with this idea & goes on the run.

Two stories in one: Firelord finds his true heart and the possible end for someone else
Truly engrossing fast read from Ms. James. A little comical too. 😉 The Firelord is the fourth Elemental Dragon to find his true mate as Kellan, Duncan and Gideon before him. With the Firelord’s reawakening we are closer to the ending of the saga that caused their thousand-year sleep. But first Seth, the Firelord must tame his true heart and keep her from trying to kill him! Caitlyn has trained for the day when she can kill Seth, and eventually take over the realm according to legend. She’s good with a bow and arrow but is she good enough?
And then there is the reason all the Elemental Dragons have been brought out of their long sleep: the war is coming and a vampyr of old is trying to take over. Can they stop him and his league in time?
Keep in mind that this is a discipline story with lots of spanking and lots of “making up” afterward. 😳 Really steamy stuff. This was a real page-turner and I loved it. My only problem with it was that there were a few places where the shift from scene to scene was not clear whereas in others the delineation by asterisks was clear. Fix those and it is a five-star book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and if you like spanking discipline and its aftermath 😜you will want to read this book.

Best in the series
This is the fourth and final book in the Elemental Dragons series and boy did it deliver. In this book we meet Seth, The Lord of Fire dragon who is known to be a fierce fighter but also a rogue who is selfish and thinks only of the pursuits of the flesh. But appearances can be deceiving. Caitlyn was one of the women living at the Sanctuary who escaped when Kellan, Lord of the Sea awoken. Caitlyn has trained for one goal in mind to kill the Lord of Fire and become Lord over her home lands. When Caitlyn misses in both her attempts to kill Seth, he realizes that she is True Heart and a fierce warrior. Seth, while dominant is different from his brother's. Instead of trying to change or shelter Caitlyn, Seth trains Caitlyn to fight not only in human but in dragon form as well. This was a huge and welcome departure in the series. Hopefully, we will see more of this from future dominates male figures. As the threat from Sir Nickolas approaches alliances are made with the interconnected males from the Fated, Wolflord, Warlord and Overlord books. It will take the strength and wit of all of them to defeat Sir Nickolas and the Horde. This was an outstanding ending to an phenomenal series.

magnificent!
Seth is by far my favorite “male”. He seems to be the only one who actually got that they were far stronger together then they were apart including in battle. When he said this:
“I give you Caitlyn, the First Lady of Storm Fire, my mate and the song of my heart. I claimed her without her consent, but as she has proven herself to be my equal as a warrior, I would ask her, in front of all of you, to do the same as my mate. Caitlyn, will you come and sing with me and soar among the clouds?” She felt her throat tighten. She knew what it cost him to humble himself this way.
That sealed it for me! The others should take note! There parks are stronger if they stand with their mate as their EQUAL. Your only as strong as your weakest link. It wasn’t the females that were weak it was the arrogance. foolishness , and inability to humble themselves that festered and ate away at the chain.
I didn’t realize how fond I was of Darby & her mate until the last few paragraphs of the book. I was equal parts sad & wistful that they were gone (and a bit peeved still that the pack had glossed over & hid the true history of the pack) but it was really a very sweet send off.

Caitlyn is determined to kill the Firelord so she can rule her people. Seth is the Firelord a dragon shifter recently awakened from a sleep of a thousand years. He knew that some of his people would be unsure of his return to rule, but he really didn't expect to have and arrow forged in dragon fire to fly at him out of the darkness of his own great hall. He also didn't expect the would be assassin to be a beautiful young woman and his true heart.
I adored these characters, I loved all the characters in this series but Seth and Caitlyn were even more entertaining the rest. Snarky and strong willed Caitlyn meets her match in Seth, and he would be the first to tell anyone that he had no interest in settling down, and claiming just one woman. These two more than the other made me laugh. Exciting action, a battle to save the world, steamy interactions between characters, plenty of unexpected twists, and a happily ever after. Fantastic book, and series.

An Epic Finale..
The final book in Delta’s Elemental Dragon lord series is exciting to read and wow what a way to end the series....
Caitlyn’ s quest for revenge to kill the fire lord dragon, cut out his heart and become lord/lady of the castle and then kill the man who killed her sister... but killing a dragon is not an easy thing to do especially if you happen to be that dragons true heart.
Seth has awaken from his slumber to return to Stormfire his castle and home only to be attacked twice, but when he tracks down his assailant he finds to his surprise the Caitlyn is his true heart one he thought he would never have..
I loved the fiery nature between these two characters as Caitlyn’s feistiness battles against Seth dominance in such hot and steamy moments...this book was hard to put down and for me definitely worth more than 5 stars..

I totally enjoyed this book. Delta James is an amazing author. Their is plenty of heat, no pun intended" I wasn't sure if I wanted to read another shifter book. but this one grabbed me from the beginning and didn't slow down. From Caitlyn's past, she thinks she has very good reasons to fear whoever takes over the Kingdom, so her plan is to eliminate those she feels are usurpers seems to be a good solid one. Enter the Dragon, Seth, I have to say I adore Seth, He is definitely 100% Alpha for sure, but he loves and adores his mate, Caitlyn. This was a quick and excellent read. I will now find the other shifter books and read them as well. I recommend this book and this author. Sherrie

He is her enemy – she is his destiny!
I loved this book as much as I loved the previous three in this series. It was an exceptionally good read – full of actions, suspense and dragon romance and brings the overarching story line that runs through this series to an end and I guess to the end of the other series Wayward Mates. I have not read any books in the Wayward Mates series, so I do not know how all the books are interconnected to themselves and to this series. But that aside, it was a very enjoyable read. Ms James knows how to bring strong female characters to life in her books and they are a joy to read about as the do everything possible to keep the men in their lives on their toes. It is a great read and I highly recommend it.
