Enemies (BlackByrd Series Book 2) by M. Miley is an enemies-to-lovers romantic suspense told in first person, dual POV. Although it's the second book in a series, it can be read as a standalone.
Rebecca Byrd is on a revenge mission. Life has been hell ever since her brother was branded a traitor to the country. Everyone turned their backs on them - even his brothers in arms - and she's willing to risk everything to clear his name.
Beau “Bear” Ericson remains scarred from that failed mission and his friend's betrayal. His body and mind have been branded with these scars that he bears daily. When Rebecca shows up, all he sees is another traitor.
But what if Bear is wrong? What if he's been wrong about everything all along? Can Rebecca be trusted?
I really enjoyed Becca and Bear's story. As characters, they were likeable, relatable, and realistically flawed. In a way, they were mirror images of each other, and as a couple, they were well-matched. The story was a gripping page-turner full of intrigue and suspense. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

What a roller coaster!
This book had me on edge the entire time. I was up, I was down, I couldn't put the book down. The author had a way of putting you in the book, you feel the emotion. I can't wait to read book 3!

Loved it!
I loved this second book almost às much as the first. You can't help but fall in love with the characters and this writer's ability to keep you guessing makes it a book you just can't put down. I can't wait to get into the next one.
