Hideaway Isle #3

The Man at Nimbus Marina

Rate this book
Rags Bertram is a man with a past. But he isn’t one to boast about it. A former soldier in the U.S. special forces, Rags came to the island and bought an old marina to stay off the grid and out of trouble. He’s living the good life— working on the water by day and playing on it by night, often while holding a cold beer in his hand.

No one on Hideaway Isle knows about Rags’ former life until trouble suddenly finds him. Enemies with an ax to grind wish to settle a score, and they don’t care who they hurt in the process. As the danger escalates and Rags is forced to face it head on, he must use his training to save his friends and neighbors, before it’s too late.

Will Rags realize the seriousness of the threat in time? Will he have the courage to turn back to his old way of doing things? And who will become a casualty and take the fall?

The Man at Nimbus Marina is a gorgeously gripping, deep and suspense-filled novel that explores the measures of responsibility, the gift of heroism, and the weight of honor. It’s the third book in the Hideaway Isle series and the perfect beach read.

Rags Bertram, a former Navy seal, and his girlfriend, Margot Callaway, a naval officer are a team. When Rags left the Navy he worked similar jobs for foreign companies. He soon realized they were not for the good of the people. He buys a marina in the Keys and starts a new life. He receives a chess piece in an envelope. It looks like his past is coming into play with armed militia type people arrive. A page turning thriller that will continue.

This is the third book in a very good series that keeps you guessing what’s going to happen next and leave you wanting more when you finish. This book really had a cliffhanger ending. The characters are so well written, even with their different names, the story flows nicely and it’s one of those books that you don’t want to put down. This one is about Rags who was a Navy SEAL and now enjoying a calmer life. That doesn’t last long when he suddenly receives something in the mail that lets him know, his past may be catching up to him. He swiftly moves in protecting his girlfriend and all his friends using his SEAL training. But is it enough? As I said the ending is a huge cliffhanger and I can’t wait for book #4

Rags is the prençiple focus in book 3 of this series.

Abit faster paced then the previous two.
Rags past comes back to bite him.
An odd twist is added to this on going tale of Hideaway Ilse's.

The Man at Nimbus Marina (The Hideaway Isle #3), my fifth read from author Kelly Utt, an author I'd wanted to read for some time now. After reading The Boy on Sunset and Main (Hideaway Isle #0.5 followed by The Sisters of Kestrel Cay and then The Girl in Hideaway Park (Hideaway Isle #2), I had to read this book. A well-written, pulse-pounding, entertaining romantic suspense read, with intriguing, well-developed characters that leave you panting for more. I couldn't turn pages fast enough. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author, I can't wait for The Woman on Seaglass Lane (Hideaway Isle #4), the next book in the series, to be published. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Once again Kelly Utt has written a romantic suspense story that is equal parts nail biting action and warm romantic gestures. Utterly irresistible and impossible to put down the book is full of great characters and writing that is immediately recognizable as this authors way with words. My only complaint is that it's a cliffhanger and I have to wait for the next installment to find out what's next!

Rags is trying to lead a quiet life. The former navy seal just wants to run his marina and love Margot, an active duty naval officer. But when trouble comes knocking he doesn't hesitate to answer the door. He'll do anything to keep his love, their family, and their friends safe.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

I know a book is really good when I start reading too fast. Kelly Utt has become one of my favorite authors. I couldn't wait to read the other books in this series after I read The Boy on Sunset and Main. This book was hard to put down and again I lost sleep staying up late because I just couldn't tear myself away from the story. This book is full of wonderful characters and can't wait to read the next installment. I was given an ARC for an honest review.

This book has enough intrigue to immediately peak your interest at the beginning, plenty of suspense at the end to leave you craving more, and lots of sweet romance that makes you smile and want your own. This is Book 3 in a series. Each book is the point of view told by a different character, which is very unique in my experience with reading a series, and one that I find I prefer. I cannot wait to see what happens next and who will tell the tale.

The Man at Nimbus Marina

Should be “The Men…”. I read the first 2 in this series and enjoyed them. This one, for some weird reason, the author decided to add some colorful (but ugly) language. I almost stopped reading it, but kept going. It did get better until th ending. Very abrupt and unfinished. Boo!

No ending and, of course, you have to buy another book

I really hate these authors who have to keep continuing their books into another book......just write the whole book already!
