Librarian's Note: An alternate title and cover for this ASIN can be found here.
Rebecca has been asleep longer than she can comprehend.
Woken from a cryo pod she finds herself in the arms of bonafide aliens. Having spent part of her life working for SETI as an astrobiologist, Rebecca would have thought this was the culmination of her life’s work - except she doesn’t react that way.
Fight or flight beats logic.
After screaming like a toddler on sugar, Rebecca is confined in a room with other women only to discover that everyone else understands what the aliens are saying.
She is the only one who doesn’t.
When the pilot who pulled her free finds her again, she has the opportunity for a do over, a chance for her inner extraterrestrial fangirl turned researcher to step into the light and shine. She has a chance to learn about aliens.
If only she could talk to them.
Be aware: This novelette has a LOT of adult language, steamy knotty romance, boundary exploration, and a healthy dose of consent, communication, and respect.
If you are offended by brainy women, tricky cultural situations, alien physiology, or everyone screaming yes repeatedly, well maybe you should read this little story and get over that.
I'm just a lady with a foul mouth who really likes writing titillating stories about characters who go through experiences we don't have here on earth.
I like tea.
Yoga is life, meditation is therapy, and a birdfeeder right outside the window is the meaning to life, the universe, and everything.
Rebecca is the first human woman we've met right out of the cryo pod. This story overlaps with the previous one, and gives us a chance to view the experience differently... rescued, but never labor in the prison camp.
Genghis is a pilot, who helped with the rescue mission, and was there the moment Rebecca woke. He, and a friend, take time to appreciate the difference between the world they live in, and the world these women were born in... A pilot may not know how to help her adjust, be he can be there for her, every step of the way.
This done in one Kindle unlimited quick read moved the overarching plot forward with a few new pieces of information. I love the sense of humor in these stories, they have a fun tone, even as they touch on serious trauma/issues.
I loved Rebecca and Genghis's story. I thought she would be the last of the human s to hook up but was amused by the outside fact that forced her to make the first move. I loved how she would randomly spout off all scientific and how hard Genghis fought to stay honorable. I hope this series continues, but I also want to read other books by this author, I really like her style!
It’s a short story but it was fun. Genghis was a real gentle alien, he wanted her to understand him, that they could talk first before he will claim her but it seems she really wants him, regardless. His acts of loyalty is enough for her.
This series is just so much fun 😄. Even though each book is mostly like that other, eventually I hope we get to the planet they are headed towards and then it'll REALLY be interesting 😉. Thanks again Deiri, I can't wait until then 😋.
