Set the fireflies free. Send them home before God cleanses the world.
Homicide cop, Michael Callahan sees death everywhere. During the day, he protects the city from evil. At night — he is the evil. He hears the hopeless pleas, feels the last breath of the victims. He sees life fade away through the eyes of the killer. In his dreams, Michael is the killer.
But it's just dreams. Right?
The internal struggle of protector versus killer refuses to stay hidden when the dreams become reality. A serial killer, who calls himself Murmur, stalks the streets of North Carolina, searching for the "fireflies." Michael knows the victims all too well — he's killed them in his dreams.
Riddled with doubt and growing suspicions from his partner, Bill, Michael is determined to put an end to the terror — even if it means an end to himself.
Chasing Fireflies is the first book in the James Beamer Thriller Series.
Paul Seiple is a best-selling author of the Project Specter Mystery Series and the Great Dying Post-Apocalyptic Series. His roots are in the horror and thriller genres. Occasionally, he will take a wrong turn and end up in other genres like science fiction.
Outside of creating dark stories, Paul is influenced by Crystal Pepsi, New Coke, Van Halen III (The Gary Cherone Minute), and Windows Vista. He believes Paul Stanley’s ’78 solo record was the best and misses Saved by the Bell: The College Years tremendously. Paul would like for you to be in his Myspace Top 8, but sadly, he can’t remember his password. But all is not lost.
Paul Seiple writes with such graphic creativity that you are drawn into these horrific murder scenes and into the twisted mind of a psychopath. Every page grips you with a hold your breath sense of foreboding you know the next page will bring a sickening feel of death. Once you get to the identity of the murderer you sit and think well did I see that coming? Maybe you did maybe you didn't. Don't miss the first chapter of Detective Mike's career and how he gets his start in life.
There is usually a certain sameness about serial killer stories, you know, stalking, capturing, brutalizing women, all while being pursued by the hero. This book has a couple of twists, and more than a few homicides and serial killers
Full of twists and turns!! To chase a serial killer who turns out to be your long lost sick twin brother!! That’s a mind screw from hades!!! Read this book in one setting, couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait to read the next one.

I could not put the book down. Every page kept my attention and made me want to learn more. This is the first book in a trilogy and I'd be interested to read more.
WOW!! This is my first Paul Seiple novel but definitely NOT my last!! The cast of characters were phenomenal...one of the most in depth and creative cast of any book I have read in a long time. The story line had me in it's grips and never loosened! Non-stop horror and excitement...honestly it was SO good I never stopped, well only long enough to go to Amazon and buy the next two books...YES that good!! If you buy this one just go ahead and purchase the rest now!
Excellent Book. Read the first chapter carefully so you Don't confuse your characters throughout the book. Bible and brimstone. Good and evil. Heaven and Hell. All in the power of one family's delusional ideals. One sadistic serial killer has a family affair that reaches to the best people in town. When dreams start to tell stories that are coming true these relationships come out in the open. Some family lines are best being discontinued, or are they? Full of suspense and mystery and intrigue. Read it in one day. I Liked the characters in book.
I loved it and would have 5 starred it but I took one off because of language and sex. I'm not a prude but I get enough of that through life and TV/movies. I don't want to see it in the worlds I visit while reading.
It seems along the same lines as one of my favorite authors Steven James in the Pawn Series. If you are a fan of Steven James you will probably like this one. I liked it enough to want to read #2 in the series. One killer received his comeuppance and the other will too. I want to be there when it happens.
Excellent trilogy. The characters are well written. The human emotions are very spot on. There is enough emotional strength as well as vulnerability to make the reader root for the good guys. Definitely worth reading!
The plot has many unexpected twists and turns. Very well written. Great plot, interesting and believable characters. Want to read the rest of the series.
Awesome book. I never would have thought that getting into someone else's head could be so spine chilling. It takes a great imagination to write something like this.
