Times have never been tenser in the Boundarylands. Threats from the outside world abound, and there’s only one rule—trust no one.

Welcome to the Boundarylands. A place where the only way to know your true nature is to feel the touch of an Alpha. Omegas may be rare, but every woman knows their fates are hellish—held captive, broken, mated, knotted, and bred.

Raised on the streets, Mari has seen her share of horrors. A scrappy survivor, she’s fought for her life countless times, but she’s never known real fear until she washes up just inches from an alpha’s land.

Now the only thing saving her from the touch of his wild beast is an invisible border—the thin line between his world and hers. Neither is willing to cross over…no matter how tempted they both might be.

Ryder is the eleventh book in The Boundaryland Omegaverse, a hot new ABO romance series featuring knotting, heats, and possession. Wear gloves, cause this sh*t is hot.

Man, I just love this series!

Ryder is a sweet and sexy hunk of Alpha, with piercing teal eyes. Yum! Gawd, how he takes care of Mari, showing her compassion, and that she has worth. 😍😍

We're still left with so many questions about what the Beta's are doing and what their goal is. They make a big play at the end that we don't know what the fallout will be. Things are coming to a head though, probably in the next book....I can't wait!!

Me encantó!

"This is your home now, Mari," Ryder repeated, his voice deep and rough. "Your home is with me."

I loved this one. I loved Ryder, I loved how he eased Mari's fears and made her feel like she was enough! I loved these two more than the others, there was some depth - but I still needed more. Honestly if that were another Alpha's Omega they would have done the same thing - so the whole 'giving dirty looks at them' grow up!

SMH.

Ryder

Plot: Mari is a beta (ha, ha, yeah right) who has lived on the streets and grifted in order to survive. In her quest to escape the authorities (after overhearing information she shouldn't have), she ends up on the beach right by the border of the boundarylands. Ryder is the alpha who sees her, and that's probably lucky for her, because the rules are not as ingrained in him, since he's still a pretty young alpha. In face, he helps her, even believing she's a beta invaded his space. He makes sure she is warm and fed. Then the authorities come for her, and Ryder saves her, even though he shouldn't. And of course it turns out she is definitely more than a beta thief!

Character development: I would have liked to know more about Mari and the people she was involved with - for example, how will that continue to affect the Boundarylands? I also would have liked a lot more of the burgeoning relationship; in some respects, it felt rushed.

Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes

The conflict and the subplot in this book are NOT what you think they are, it does lead up to the how The Boundarylands society will change in future books! Well done!

QUITE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS ONE. I FELT VERY VERY DETACHED FROM THE CHARACTERS. IT STARTED OFF QUITE WELL, I FOUND THE ELEMENT OF NOT KNOWING A REAL HEADY EXPERIENCE, UNTIL IT CAME TO THE INTIMACY PART...WELL THAT WAS SEVERELY LACKING FOR AN OMEGAVERSE BOOK. It's like you picked up smut and got nothing for it.

THIS MIGHT AS WELL BE READ LIKE A NOVELLA, FOR ALL LITTLE WEALTH OF FEELINGS IT GAVE ME.

RYDER is one Alpha I haven't met before maybe because I've been jumping around the Boundaryland books. Normally I get a simple kick out of this series because it's a quickie Omegaverse but boy was this AN ABSOLUTE LETDOWN - the mating I waited for was a buzzkill. Truthfully, the main highlight of an Omegaverse story is how down, dirty and primal the sex gets, not to mention the whole dominance thing going on. It's all about the FEELS. This one barely scratched the surface. Ryder's a young pup amongst all the alphas we've been introduced to, and he's a nice guy, truly. He wasn't the problem. The boring part comes into play when there's ZERO drive to the story. After realizing that Mari is his Omega, there was no real intimacy between the two that made it believable or tugged at my heartstrings. Sure he's understanding and all, but being TOLD and experiencing it for ourselves are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. It's like aged wine vs. newly distilled. It's like watching 2 strangers, who didn't know jack shit about each other, not to mention the sex was just literally slot A entering into slot B like how Ryder described sex to Mari. LOL. And yes, I'm using it against the author because her characters meant absolutely NOTHING to me this time around.

MARI felt like she was going to be something and then after becoming an Omega overnight, her character just got L.O.S.T. She started off strong, being the defensive and all round fighter kind of gal, and I really liked the whole 'I'm wary of you, but you're treating me so nicely. Are you out for something? Should I trust you? Wait, he's kind of hot' vibe she had going on with Ryder. I mean come on, both total strangers and he's staying on his side of the border, she's staying on hers yet he can't leave her alone? Male meets female....yaddy yadda. The author had the intrigue part down but she blew it when they started going at it later (and trust me it wasn't even graphic) after Mari was shot, and he saved her. I liked the idea of Ryder taking her back to his cabin, but then what came after? It's like zero bonding effort between them any more. He's now got the girl, so there's nothing left to build.

OVERALL this might have been my least favourite Boundaryland Alpha-Omegaverse installation to the series. The characters didn't hold my attention for long, don't even get me started on the plot. It's like the author's just throwing this one in as a filler. PLEASE, don't do that and I hope to meet characters with MORE SUBSTANCE in the future, since I remember my last rant was how typical it was for the heroines to drop into the Alpha lands all because they were being chased by bad guys or running for their lives! After 11-12 books in, as a fan, I say your readers need something new!

Interesting

I've been reading this series, and it is interesting. The first two books-decent. The next few,"rinse-and-repeat" of the first two. It would seems as if a different person wrote it,except the "wearing his shirt" and crappy, crappy vehicles appear in all of them. Also,i get the feeling the author(s?) aren't really religious, and have a bit of a feminist agenda going on. I don't care if you aren't religious. What i do care is that you KEEP TELLING ME. That's not why i sat down to read a book about 7 foot Alpha men. And speaking of MEN,EVERY book has the requisite inner thoughts of the heroine decrying all things male and masculine, and bemoaning the evil intentions/actions/thoughts of men. Again,i'm reading to be ENTERTAINED,NOT to have propaganda shoved down my throat. How CONTINUITY can be an issue in a BOOK,i have no clue, but most,if not all,the books have a scene that is erroneous based on another scene. This one was "you just got *injured* this MORNING" --said after a FOUR DAY heat period. Also,i dislike when a character that has an "undesirable" trait has a worse fate/backstory than the rest. It seems that a lot of readers of contemporary HATE a virgin heroine (i personally LOVE a virgin heroine!) so the virgin has to SUFFER because of it. Faith was bat crap religious nut crazy,Mari had her physical thing. Emily was fat,so she had to be in a bad, bad,BAD pairing. Stop punishing characters who are different so their differences can become acceptable! It's ok just to have a virgin heroine as a regular,un-screwed up lady! It's ok to have a fat girl who isn't insecure or in a terrible spot! She came just be an omega who finds her alpha! Anyhoo,i said all that to say this-yes,this series has its MAJOR flaws, but the writing has improved DRAMATICALLY,and i am just a few books away,so i will be finishing the series.

Ryder – The Boundarylands – Callie Rhodes

Young love comes to The Boundarylands

I am loving the social commentary that is happening in this series. We have the Alphas (and Omegas) versus the Beta Society that has basically shunned them because… They are different.

Our Omega and Alpha couple in this book are Mari and Ryder.

Mari is the young, sad and lonely beta girl from the wrong side of the tracks who has done whatever she must to survive in a Beta world where women are basically second-class citizens. She has ended up on the lower rungs of a drug cartel delivery chain and is being pursued by the DEA.

Our Alpha is Ryder, we met him briefly in the previous book. He is young and has only come into his Alpha dynamic in the last twelve months. He is considered a late bloomer. Despite being an Alpha Newbie, he is not any less lethal than any other Alpha in the Uplands of The Boundarylands.

There’s a fair amount of blood and gore and quite a bit of angst between our Alpha/Omega couple until they finally commit to their bond. There’s a lot less interference from the Beta world in this book than one would have expected at the start of the story. I found it a relief THB. I am not a fan of the Betas in any way.

The usual warnings for hot and steamy sex scenes that this author writes so well. Mentions of drug cartels, blood, gore and some mild child neglect could be possible triggers for some people. I gave it four stars.

Loved it even more than the others.....

Every new Alpha I read about, I seem to learn something new about their kind. Ryder was no exception to the rule. What if he did feel her Omega nature calling and pulling him to save her? His the youngest and the new comer, what if this is a new attribute with a new generation? It just fascinates me how different they all are and each story just gets better. I think the Alphas are a generation that isn't going anywhere and they can outlive betas if tested because they know how to live off the land. Survival skills kick in that betas can only dream about doing. I can't wait to see how this border closing turns out. Its laughable to me......Thanks Callie Rhodes!

An enjoyable m/f omegaverse romance.

This novel was a fun, short, entertaining omegaverse romance. The author has really raised the stakes with the overarching plot threads running through the series, which I have mostly enjoyed. The hero was sweet and alpha, in both senses of the word. The heroine was well drawn and sympathetic with her traumatic history. The development toward potentially open conflict with beta society was very exciting and ominous. The ending was happy, but too abrupt for my liking. I would have liked more resolution at the end or maybe an epilogue. All around a fun escape during a difficult time.

Belonging

I liked Ryder and Mari's story better that a few of the others. This book has new and exciting things going down between the beta world and the Alphas.
There were a couple things that I wanted more details on but it didn't throw off the story by not knowing the answers.
I love that Mari finally found someone that she feels soul deep that she could trust. That she found a place where she felt safe and that she belonged is icing on the cake.

A very good read but.....

Very well written as far as plot and dialogue go. I enjoy the characters very much. My only complaint is it needs a little bit more editing. For example in one point it says the betas are considered violent and stupid. Shouldn't that be the alphas are considered violent and stupid by the betas? Again a great read. Just needs a little fine tuning on the editing.

such an emotional read

I have been binge reading the entire Boundarylands series since I first found it. I haven’t can’t get enough of the characters and the lifestyle. Everyone’s stories are all so different and complex. This one hit me the hardest though. MC’s background and her character development hit home for me. So much of her struggles are so vivid that I lived through them with her. Best read so far!

Once of the best series out there!

This series must be read in order, there is an underlying story arc that flows through each book. Mari washed up on shore right outside of Rider's land. He can't cross the line and she won't. This book is a little more brutal then previous ones. Mari is one tough chic and her life hasn't been easy. I love these alphas.

The author does not disappoint

I have read this entire series and not one book has disappointed me. I will wait impatiently for Knox's story. This series has excitement, intrigues, sexy alphas, strong omegas making them my go to series. Kudos to the author for keeping each book fresh and interesting

Extremely disappointing. The subplot that has been threaded in the background hardly is touched. Mari has such potential as a character, but she’s not given the treatment she deserves. The story is too rushed. The author is to busy trying to get to the next story she doesn’t completely finish this one.

I love the series story line

and thats why I gave it four stars but the errors are numerous. From spelling to plot errors, especially eith time. That is my biggest issue with these books. Please Call ie spend a few minutes with spell check to make it a bit bearable since that will only help with Brammer and spelling and not the other errors.

I liked this book. It was a bit different than the other installments and the development of the relationship was unique. The main plot line wasn’t the most entertaining, but it was different which didn’t make it too difficult to follow. I ultimately enjoyed this book and I’m interested in seeing where the series will go next.

Overcome the past

The beta vs alpha arc is coming to a peak as this new couple's romance unfolds. My favorite line:"when circumstances forced you to take a new path, it was up to you to make the best of the situation. You had to be the one to seize it by the throat and bend it to your will—not the other way around."

Mari & Ryder

You know i like how these stories build on each other, also they are quick reads, not too quick but hmm i guess if I wasn’t behind on the books it might bother me more due to a waiting for the next after you blow through a book in 2 days. Still like where this is going.

Good story, needs better editing

I love this series, however Ryder was a bit of a let down compared to some of the others. The glaring inconsistencies and editing, is why this is a 3 not a 4. An editor should’ve caught the mistakes made. However, I did enjoy the story and I can’t wait to see what comes next for the Boundarylands!

Struggling

Mari just barely makes it to shore. Swimming for her life she climbs through the sand. Trying to find shelter, Ryder, an alpha, sees her and stays to watch. Mari gets her life saved by him. Little does she know she is a omega. Ryder is cautious with because of the life she has had. All works out. Pretty good book.

Yay, another brunette, except this one doesn't have wrinkles like the last one, she has a big nasty scar on her face. She was brought up on the streets from childhood, so, she's also uneducated and a criminal due to circumstance. Ryder is sweet and super hot but I definitely see the prejudice in this series when it comes to the omegas and their hair color. *eye roll*

Series needs to be read in order, especially now

Ryder was a late blooming Alpha, meaning he hasn't forgotten the ways of the beta world yet. When he saves the life of a beta, on beta land, consequences follow. This will continue into the next book I'm sure.

Lots of typos in this book and plot errors like calling an Alpha, a beta.

This one was okay. My Kindle edition was missing a page, and there were some typos and grammar mistakes. Nothing major except for one instance of using beta where it should have been alpha. Story was okay. There was a lot of excessive murdering. More than seemed necessary to me.

This was okay. I liked Ryder and Mari well enough, but it just wasn't very memorable to me. I'm not normally a fan of novellas but this series has been an exception, except in this case. I needed a longer story to get to know and connect with Mari.

Okay

The main omega, Meri, wasn't particularly likable. And there was constant talk abou the grotesque scar on her face, which kept bringing me out of the story. Idk, I wish Ryder had ended up w/ someone different.
