When her father dies, Katherine Levinson discovers her parents have kept secrets that render her happy childhood a farce. She and her gravely ill mother face eviction, and she has no choice but to appeal to the brother she’s never seen, the famous cattle baron, Rhyan Cason. Over her gravely ill mother’s objections, they move to Nebraska and the sprawling cattle ranch, Sollano.
Instead of the warm welcome Katherine expects, she and her mother are met with whispers and scorn in the little prairie town near Sollano. Gradually, the sins of her parents’ past surface, and Katherine begins to doubt her very identify. With her brother busy with cattle rustlers and her mother too ill to be bothered, Katherine turns to Colt Holliman, a soft-spoken neighboring rancher, for comfort.
Tired of waiting for the right woman to come along, Colt has promised to wait for Charley Ryder, an acclaimed female sharp shooter and equestrian acrobat with the Wild West Show, but it’s becoming clear Charley loves the show more than him. As his attraction to Katherine grows, he finds himself spiritually conflicted. How can he break from past commitments and follow his heart?
Then unexpected danger strikes, testing Katherine’s and Colt’s faith in God—and each other.
Thoroughly enjoyed following Katherine and Colt a they attempted to stave off the inevitable and do the right thing. Katherine defied her mother and contacted her brother's wife when she realized she needed help to take care of their mother. Colt fell for his good friend's sister the moment he met her. Problem - he's already spoken for. Guilt plagues them while the ranchers deal with cattle rustling and kidnapping. Can love find a way?
This is book 3 in the “Intrigue Under Western Skies” series, but I had no problem reading as a stand-alone. I would like to go back and read the first two, as I enjoyed all the characters so much. This book has a lot going on from the get go and has several plot twists to keep you guessing. It is well written and flows easily. It is true to life with the gossip and hurts that are a result, but with God it is possible to forgive. I loved the faith elements woven throughout and the decisions made. I had empathy for Charley and how she let the world and pride rob her. I’m afraid to say to much and spoil the story for others, therefore I will say grab a copy and snuggle down for the ride. Interesting piece of history recaptured with the Wild West Show. I received a complimentary copy from the author/CelebrateLit. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
My goodness this book has so much going on. Every single situation is well written and wrapped up by the end of the book. Love, family secrets, kidnapping, cattle rustling, etc. So engaging. Loved it. Highly recommend.
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author. The opinions are my own.
Revealed is book three in Intrigue Under Western Skies series by Elaine Manders. This is the first book that I have read by Elaine. It is excellent read. I received a complementary copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion. 4 stars.
This book does not have a dull moment, and just when you think things are calming down, nope! This is the third book in this series, and the first that I have read, now I want to read the others, but although there were a few instances where things were mention, I did not feel lost. The author has given us Katherine, a young woman that was torn from the world she knows when her beloved father dies, and then she finds out that her life was a lie, wow! What a tangled web, and the bombshells kept dropping. This is just a taste of what happens here, and yes, she is rescued by a brother she doesn’t know, but that is just the beginning, and we see how these people wear their faith, and share their love of God. Don’t get too comfortable, because the author keeps us on the edge of our seat, for a great read! I received this book through Celebrate Lit Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.
Revealed by Elaine Manders is the third novel in Intrigue Under Western Skies series. It is 1885 in Charleston, South Carolina where Katherine Levinson is running out of options. Since her father’s death, Katherine has been responsible for her ill mother, Arabella and they are out of funds. Despite her mother’s objections, Katherine writes to the brother she has never known, Rhyan Cason. Rhyan and his wife, Carianne quickly arrive and bustle the pair off to their ranch, Sollano in Westerfield, Nebraska. The townspeople have long memories and they have not forgotten Arabella’s treatment of Rhyan’s father and her scandalous behavior. A couple of the ladies are welcoming to Katherine and Arabella, but many of them are discourteous and help fuel the flames with rumor and innuendo. Colt Holliman own the ranch next to the Cason’s and is Rhyan’s best friend. He is engaged to Charley Ryder, a trick rider and sharp shooter with Carianne’s Wild West Show. However, Charley is reluctant to set a wedding date as she enjoys all the attention and acclaim. Colt is taken with Katherine’s gentle personality and they find themselves drawn to each other. The ranchers are having trouble with rustlers taking off with their cows and horses. But what happens when the culprits up their game by taking something very dear and valuable?
While Revealed is the third novel in Intrigue Under Western Skies, I had no trouble reading it. I do think, though, that I would have known more about the characters if I had read the previous two books in this series. I thought the book was well-written, had a steady pace throughout, and smooth transitions. I rarely read books set in the west, I admit to enjoying this one. I liked reading about the Wild West Show and Charley’s tricks. Can you imagine doing acrobatics on top of a horse while wearing a fancy costume? I found the characters to be well-developed and realistic. It was nice to see how Arabella changed after reuniting with her son. The Christian elements are woven throughout the story. It is prevalent, but it does not dominate. It can be hard to keep your faith during times of strife. We need to remember that God is there for us always and we need to pray for His assistance as well as His guidance. We also see our characters struggle with forgiveness and not being judgmental. I had a little trouble getting into the story, but it did not take long for my attention to be grabbed. I am glad that the author had the mystery and suspense elements into the book. They added depth and made for a complex story. While I knew who was behind the crimes, I kept reading to find out what would happen next (I stayed up very late). My rating for Revealed is 4 out of 5 stars (I liked it). This was the first book I have read by Elaine Manders, but it will not be my last.
While this is the third book in the series, I was never lost (although, there were enough references to backstory to make me ready to read the first two books soon).
When Katherine loses the life she’s always known, she has no choice but to reach out to the half-brother she’s never met. The half-brother who doesn’t even know she exists. And Katherine’s life is turned upside down when she discovers the full truth of who she is.
Through it all, one man has been her confidant, her refuge in all the turmoil that surrounds her. From the moment she meets him, Katherine is drawn to Colt Holliman. But he’s promised to another woman.
Cattle rustlers, a well-oiled rumor mill, and a wild west show kept this story hopping with action, adventure, and a little suspense. Yet the most compelling scenes in Revealed are those where Katherine and Colt share their dreams, memories, and hearts with each other.

This is the 3rd book in the series. I have read book #2 and I was excited to read the next installment. Even though it is part of a series, they can be read as stand alones. One of the things that I love about this author is her writing style. Her words flow right off the page. She has a way of drawing you in. This book keeps you going and does not slow down. This book is set in 1885. The setting is Charleston, SC. A place I hope to visit one day. Katherine is the care taker for her ill mother, and they are running out of options. If you love action packed, historical fiction. This is the book for you.
I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, all thoughts are my own.
Y'all!!! I just can't wait for you to read this wonderful novel!! Elaine will be added to my long list of favorite authors! I finished this in two day cause it was sooooo good! There's just so much going on that it will make your head spin trying to keep up with all the action going on!! I love the people and their caring ways to bring home the ones that really needed it. I didn't care for all the judging that went on at the beginning. It's not really fair to judge someone because you really don't know what they're actually going through. However; I laughed in some parts of the book. Men are just so silly sometimes!! Just come out and ask!! My husband is like that. He'd rather cut his tongue off than ask someone for something I think Colt is my favorite person because he also reminds me of my husband. He's just so laid back and easy to get along with!! I didn't like it when he was around Charley. ( by the way that's my nickname lol) don't ask me how I got it. Mom called me that!! Well anyway you can read this and you'll loooove it!!! I received this book for free. All compensations are not required
It would be awful to find out when you are 18 that your mother is close to dying and that the man you thought was your father might not be your father and you have two olde brothers that you didn’t know existed. I loved how this story flows. I loved the characters of Katherine and Colt. I also really enjoyed Carianne and Rhyan. This was the third book in the series and I have not read books one and two but I hope to read them sometime. You don’t need to read them to really enjoy this one. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
Grab a snack and plan on setting for a spell as Revealed will capture your attention from the start. Elaine Manders created a lovely conclusion to her Intrigue Under Western Skies series. This story had multiple plots going with characters that were flawed but well developed with the primary ones being very caring Christian individuals. I enjoyed the way Rhyan and Carianne Cason welcomed his mother and unknown sister, Katherine, to the ranch after the unexpected death of her husband. There were moments of great pain, over hearing unpleasant gossip, the excitement of a Wild West Show, fun barn dances, along with plenty of action that turned into unexpected twists and turns. Revealed held a family mystery, ranch life, romance, adventure, faith in God and caring for loved ones. Manders did a beautiful job in creating all the elements of a book that is entertaining but also providing a strong faith message with Biblical passages and thoughts from characters. This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading Pursued and Surrendered to appreciate the characters and depth of the research in the western world during the late 1800’s. I look forward to reading more books by Elaine Manders, as she has become one of my favorite Christian historical romance authors.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through the author for Celebrate Lit tour. I was not required to write a positive review but have shared my honest thoughts.
Wild West Shows. Horses. Cowboys. Adventure. Mystery. Romance. All this and more are included in this story by Elaine Manders. I was excited to read this as I love a good western and a few years back I visited the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum in Cody, Wyoming.
The title REVEALED meant to me that GOD will reveal his true love for you when you open the door to him. He is always there waiting patiently for the invitation.
Katherine Levinson had much more revealed to her than she expected. Was she ready to accept the past? Could she ever be accepted?
I loved this book. It was book 3 of the Intrique Under The Western Skies Series. I had no problem following along. It stood on its own. But it does make me want to read Book One and Two. Great story. Wonderful characters. You will find yourself cheering for Katherine and Colt. I did!!!!
I received this free to review.

My Backstory
Intrigue under Western Skies Series, Book 3
Revealed
Back when I watched television, drama series were my favorite—Little House of the Prairie, the Waltons, the Virginian. I was caught up in the lives of these characters and looked forward to seeing what they were up to each week. For much the same reason, I enjoy writing episodic series.
Intrigue under Western Skies, a blended genre, historical romantic suspense series falls in this category. Some of the characters show up in every book, with new ones added along the way. But the books can be read out of sequence since each one has a different premise and plot.
In Revealed, Book 3 of Intrigue under Western Skies, I wanted to give Colt Holliman, previously introduced as a secondary character, his own HEA. Also, it seemed the time to reveal what happened to Rhyan Cason’s mother, the woman who’d caused so much angst in the first two books. More importantly, it gave me the opportunity to introduce Katherine, the sister he never knew existed.
Unexpectedly, my research led me to the history of show business, and how it developed through the Wild West shows of the nineteenth century. From that, a mystery evolved.
The spiritual thread running through Revealed explores the emotions of a young woman who discovers blood relatives have been hidden from her. Can she accept and love her new family and forgive the sins of her parents?
Maybe the greatest insight I gained from writing Revealed is that one can never trust his own heart without first trusting God.

If you are looking for a really good Christian Western to escape into, then I highly recommend Revealed by Elaine Manders. I had not read a novel by Manders before, so I wasn’t really sure what I was getting into. Boy, am I glad I read this book. The characters are well written, the plot is engaging, the pacing is quick, the romance is super sweet, and the suspense is just enough to keep the reader turning pages well past bedtime!
Manders does a fantastic job of weaving very important and timely messages throughout her novel. One such issue dealt with in this book is gossip. Gossiping is one of the easiest habits to slip into. There is an exceptionally fine line between relating information to someone and gossiping about someone. Even the best of us at times falls on the wrong side of this line. Katherine, the heroine of Revealed, through no fault of her own, is a victim of gossip. It is unfair and hurtful, and all she wants to do is scream in anger. At one point, Katherine begins to doubt her self-worth. She begins to worry about what others are saying about her. Instead of putting her trust in God and believing His promises, she begins to care about what other people think.
At just the right time, Katherine is reminded of whom she needs to focus on, and it isn’t the people spreading mean, hurtful lies about her. Katherine is reminded that she is made in the image of God, which makes her equal to all people. As long as we know where we stand in God’s eyes, it doesn’t matter what people say about us. Yes, it’s hurtful. Yes, it can make us angry. But as long as we are sure in our relationship with God, nothing else matters. This reminds me of Romans 8:35, 37: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. It’s easier said than done, but if we can remember that we are conquerors through Jesus, we can turn untrue, hurtful words into nothing. We can lean into Jesus and let the hurt roll off our backs and into His hands.
There’s so much more to this delightful story, but I will stop here for now. I don’t want to accidentally spoil anything in my excitement. Suffice it to say, if you are looking for a thoroughly enjoyable Christian Western filled with action, a bit of suspense, timely messages, and a sweet romance then Revealed is the book for you.
I received a review copy of this novel in eBook form from the author via Celebrate Lit. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The cover of this book is what first grabbed my attention. The look on the model's face is a little mysterious - I don't know if she's laughing, grinning, and planning something. And being a girl who likes horses but doesn't get to see them very often, I was excited to see this beauty in the background. I was eager to begin and see what this lady was all about! I will admit that it did take me just a little bit longer than normal to get into the story, but I think it was because there are several characters in this book, and my brain was trying to remember who was who and what purpose they served. Once I got them all straight, I found it was a great story that I did not want to end. The issue may have been that this is the third book in the series, and I have not read books one and two. I have read other books by Elaine Manders and enjoyed them, so I wasn't letting this stop me!
This book sort of hit home for me in an unsual way. I have a brother whom I have never met, and does not know that I even exist - for different reasons than this story. So in reading this, I kept thinking of myself as Katherine. How would I have tried to contact my brother and how would he have responded? I have never had a book hit me like that, and so it made this book extremely emotional for me to read, especially in the beginning. Once I kind of got over that hurdle, I enjoyed seeing Katherine and Colt forge a relationship. It is one of those slow and subtle growths that I have found I long for in a book relationship. With all that Katherine has going on in the book, it was sweet to see Colt be there for her. Every damsel in distress (or subject to mockery) needs a knight and shining armour to save them, and Colt is the perfect man for job. He had his own growth to do as well, especially in his "relationship" with Charley. The author did a great job showing his inner struggles in this!
Overall this is a great story, although I would highly recommend reading the first two books in the series before starting this one. Historic fans will be swept away in emotion and finding themselves drawn to the storyline to the very end. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Revealed by Elaine Manders is third in the Intrigue Under Western Skies series and is a captivating book. Although part of a series the book can easily be read as a stand-alone but I will add that reading the first two books will give a lot of background information to the characters and their lives in the time prior to this book. This Western romance is set in Nebraska during the late 1880s and continues the story of the Cason family. The author has created characters who are dynamic, evocative, and believable with their strengths and flawed foibles. I enjoyed the interactions between Katherine and her brother, Rhyan, that she had never met. Charley, a beautiful sharpshooter and performer, certainly kept things interesting in the romance department. Would Colt keep to his word and continue to pursue marriage to her even though it seems the Wild West Show is her first love? Is Katherine just starry-eyed over Colt or is it true love and love had to be tested, right? Lots of testing of love and tension regarding their relationship keep interest high and the pages turning. A wild west show, kidnapping, cattle rustling, prairie fires--all bring lots of interest to the story. The reader certainly recognizes the West is still wild! Word-pictures with descriptive detail make it easy to feel like one is right there in the scenes. The story moves along quickly with a lot of action, adventure, a few twists to the plot, with a few 'wow, I didn't see that coming' scenes. Throughout the book, there is a strong thread of faith in a God who loves unconditionally and a reminder that we are not defined by our name, our past, or what others think of us. We are defined by the fact that we are made in the image of God and we can also know His love and strength which are enough to see us through difficult times. I have enjoyed this series and hope to read more of this author's books. I received a complimentary copy of this book via CelebrateLit. A favorable review was not required and opinions are my own. This review is part of a CelebrateLit blog tour.
I love reading western stories and this one is filled with such great history that 1885 came to life. I loved learning about Katherine and how her life was going to change forever when she travels with her mother to Nebraska. It's not every day you find out you have a brother who just happens to be a very rich cattle rancher. Her mother is quite ill so hopefully she can get some medical attention when they arrive. I loved the mystery surrounding who Katherine's real father is. What secret did her mother keep from her that may cause friction when they arrive into town?
It was so interesting to read about the Wild West Show. I can remember watching shows like that when I was younger. The stunts that were done by the people on the horses were death defying. I couldn't believe how precise they were. The horses were obedient and beautiful. Charley fascinated me with her skills not only on a horse but with a gun. She was definitely a good shot and I would feel safe around when it is discovered that there is a thief trying to steal cattle and horses.
One of the most beautiful things said in the story was by Colt as he was consoling Katherine. He said, "Your name doesn't define you. Your parents don't define you. Your past doesn't define you. You're made in the image of God, and that makes you equal with everyone else. Never forget that." If only we could remember that when we feel shame or unworthy. It was a moment for me to realize that my insecurity needs to disappear and to hold my head up.
Katherine is surrounded by secrets from her past and the town is sure doing a good job of gossiping abut her. I loved the story between Colt and Katherine. Katherine is hesitant in showing her feelings to Colt. Will she learn to trust him? I loved the intrigue in the story and the author caught me by surprise with the story line. I began to wonder who could be trusted when a baby is kidnapped. The story has plenty of action and a lesson in trust, jealousy and believing in yourself and God.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
"Revealed" by Elaine Manders is a really good story. It is the third book in the "Intrigue under Western Skies "Series and answers questions that are raised in the other two books. The following quote is taken from the author's guest post on the blog tour "Some of the characters show up in every book, with new ones added along the way. But the books can be read out of sequence since each one has a different premise and plot." I only added that quote to my review to say, while you can enjoy this story without reading the other ones, I recommend reading in order to get the full suspense of the books, if you read out of order you already know the answers.
This story has twists and turns that surprised me.
This story shows that characters need to trust God and wait on Him for all life issues, even who to marry.
This book shows that greed makes people do things that are evil. There is one scene that made me want to stop reading, I was thinking, Oh no. I can't handle this if something happens to Davey. But, I am happy to say I am glad I kept reading.
The characters in these stories are true to life. There are some that readers want to be friends with and some that readers want to avoid or shake some sense into.
I think if you are a fan of the Wild West Shows and circus performers, you will like this book because of Charley. Her performance with the ring of fire and other acts are described so well you can imagine you are watching them instead of reading about them.
The ending has me wondering if a fourth book is coming.
I was given a complimentary copy by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.
I hope this day finds everyone healthy and happy!! I love to read books that are in a series. Reconnecting with characters that I've come to know and
love is like a family reunion. Elaine Manders is a master at writing such books.
Her series "Intrigue Under the Western Sky" is one of the best series I've read.
You can read them as stand alone but are best when read as a series. You won't regret it, I assure you.
In the third book "Revealed", I caught up on what has been happening in the characters lives. I also love the history that is interwoven throughout the pages. Get a peek at wild west shows and how they grew in popularity. You'll meet Katherine and her mother learning that not everything we think is true and the truth can hurt but also provides freedom in life. Elaine Manders does such an amazing job in this story. I loved the women who are living hard lives but are strong, determined and committed to their husbands, family and friends. Men who are fiercely protective of their wives, family and friends. People who make up a family even if some aren't related. Katherine is hit with some life-changing events but stays strong and determined to adjust the best she can. With Colt's help she realizes she can face anything that comes her way. Set aside time to read this great series because you will want to read them all.
Blessings,
Karen
Rating: 5*
I received this book as a gift and all opinions are my own.
It has been awhile and a multitude of other books since I read the previous books in the Intrigue Under Western Skies series so I had forgotten quite a bit of the background history. Even so, it was not difficult to comprehend what was going on within the pages of Revealed. This novel could easily stand on its on but combined with the first two books makes for extra good reading.
Featuring Rhyan Cason’s previously unknown younger sister and his best friend Colt, this book touches on several important themes such as forgiveness, reconciliation, gossip, and judgemental attitudes. Bolstered by their faith and a growing dependence on the Lord, the primary characters in Revealed managed to overcome some serious obstacles and even life-threatening danger to their families. With quite a bit of action, excitement, and a mystery to solve, Katherine and Colt still found time for a bit of romance. Little did they know that the impending threat was much closer to home than either of them could imagine.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series and look forward to future books by this author.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by Celebrate Lit. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
Katherine Levinson put her life on hold while taking care of her sick mother after her father dies. She and her mother face eviction if they can't pay rent. After all other sources of income dry up, she has no choice but, to reach out to estrange wealthy brother, Rhyan Cason. However, her ill mother refuses to contact Rhyan.
When Katherine and her mother move to the cattle ranch, Sollano, they are met with whispers and scorn. Katherine learns of her parents' buried past and secrets are revealed. With Rhyan being busy with cattle rustlers, Katherine turns to Colt Holliman, a calm neighboring rancher, for comfort. However, Colt is promised to another woman, Charley Ryder but, he feels drawn to Katherine. Will Colt be able to follow his heart? What secrets are buried in Katherine's past?
I found the novel to be a good read. I like the parts with Charley performing stunts and portraying her as a strong female character. I enjoyed that there wasn't a lot of deny of each other's feelings. Such as, "Oh, she's not good enough" or "He's a bad boy" back and forth. I haven't read the other stories in the series but, I found this still to be an enjoyable read.
**Disclosure - I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion**
Katherine feels desperate. Her father has died, and her mother is seriously ill. They’re about to be evicted and have nowhere to go. Although once wealthy, they now face an impoverished future. However, family secrets may hold the key to better circumstances. This book, set in 1885, explores the journey the pair experiences as they move on and as Katherine learns the full truth. This is a Western romantic tale. Rustlers, a Wild West show with a female sharpshooter, and adventure are included. The setting and characters seem quite realistic. You can’t help but feel for their troubles and root for a positive outcome. But how can everything ever all work out? Faith plays a role in the story, and sin is not whitewashed but admitted. We also see the pain judging and gossip can cause. There is plenty of suspense and intrigue plus surprises along the way. This novel is part of a series, but stands alone. I like this quote: “If you’re bothered by what others think, read the Bible to find out what the Lord thinks.” I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
What dynamic characters and rich settings we find in Revealed! I was glued to the page from page one until the very end. We open upon a rather difficult time for our heroine, and while she is elated to meet the family she's never known, judgment lurks around every corner. Colt- a loyal, honorable settled man waiting to settle down with the love of his life that seems more interested in showmanship than settling anytime soon. Our characters are truly complex and grow so much in the Lord through the storyline. The plot takes many twists and turns and keeps you in suspense to the very last. The setting was clearly and richly depicted, and as a fan of Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons myself, I found a new story to enjoy, and hope to go back and read the others in this series. Inspiration, development, suspense, history, and a sweet romance combine to make this an unforgettable story. Any fiction reader could enjoy Revealed!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, and all opinions given are my own.
Revealed is well-written, intriguing story with interesting, complex characters. I already knew some of the characters from the first two books, and enjoyed meeting Katherine and her mother. I initially struggled a bit relating to Katherine, but perhaps that is due to our age difference! I loved that despite her uncertainty, she contacts her estranged brother to get help because of her mother’s illness. I was saddened when she and her mother were treated so badly by many of the townspeople because of her mother’s past behaviors. I enjoyed following the mystery, and there were several fascinating plot twists. I appreciated learning about life in Nebraska after the Civil War. The information was woven throughout the story in an easy-to-read manner. This is another great book from this author.

Revealed is the third book in the Intrigue Under Western Skies series by Elaine Manders. When Katherine Levinson’s father dies, she loses her home and wealth. Now, destitute she must find a way to take care of her mother who is sick. Contacting the brother she’s never met, Katherine faces new challenges ahead as family secrets, long-buried, surface. How will these challenges affect her feelings for neighboring rancher Colt Holliman? When an unexpected danger arises will Colt and Katherine’s love survive? This story was a very easy read, almost too easy. I enjoyed getting to know the different characters throughout the book. The overall love of God shines through the whole story without being too preachy. Even though the characters had flaws they overcame them and came out even stronger because of them. A very entertaining read.
I received this book from Celebrate Lit in exchange for my honest review.
Engrossing, engaging, handsomely written and quite memorable! Intriguing characters are featured in this well-developed and guaranteed-to-pull-you-in storyline that contains an especially interesting premise. A powerful faith and devotion to family carry these characters through many ups, downs, disappointments, revelations, surprises and successes. Includes an interesting feature of the historical Wild West Shows. A highly recommended read!
Author Elaine Manders succeeds in her mission to “improve the culture through literature.” I heartily applaud and support her efforts! This author’s works will continue to be high on my TBR list!

My Review Revealed is the third book in the Intrigue Under Western Skies series. I have not read the previous books and it probably would have added a bit of background info but that didn't hinder me much in the reading of this story. This story has alot going on right from the very beginning. This story is full of secrets, kidnapping, love, and so much more. The setting is 1885 South Carolina. Katherine's life changed alot after the death of her father and then her mother became ill. She makes a hard decision in going against her mother's wishes and contacting her half brother. This was a very busy story but a good read. Disclaimer: I was given a complimentary copy of this book but all thoughts and opinions are my own honest ones.
There was much to like about this book. As a western, the setting, characters, and plot were all in harmony. The plot kept moving with plenty of action throughout the story. The dialog was realistic and believable. The characters faced hardships with grace.
This was the third book in a series, and it is helpful to have read the previous books before this one, but the author included just enough background information so that it could stand on its own.
If you are looking for an-action-packed western romance, I recommend this book. It is a solid read.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, through Celebrate Lite, for review purposes. The thoughts expressed here are my own.
WOW!!! This is the first book by this author that I have had the pleasure to read and it was a beautiful story with engaging characters. I have always loved a more complex tale than the average romance and this book packs a punch with family secrets. I couldn’t imagine what I would do if I had to found out secrets of my family and then seek to know answers. Moving West was the only option for Katherine and her mother, but it was one that strained them. It wasn’t easy to live in the frontier, and Katherine took on the challenge nicely.
Colt is a man worthy of swooning readers everywhere. I love how soft and kind he is. He isn’t hardened by the environment. It was nice to see the budding relationship build for these two. I think it was a great book and one I would recommend to all.
I really enjoyed the story of Katherine and Colt. Has mystery, suspense, excitement to keep you on the edge of your seat. It is part of a series but a stand alone book. So if you haven’t read the other books you will still enjoy it even though the whole series is good. It is like watching an western movie, has good guys and bad and a lot of family. I really enjoyed the closeness of the family and friends. Also involved an circus show that was enjoyable. I cannot think of anything I did not like about the book. It was very interesting from start to finish. At times I just wanted to talk to the characters like they were real. I received an complementary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write an positive review.
This is the first book I've read by Elaine Manders. And I flew through it. It was a good story and an easy read. Sometimes it felt like it was more of a YA book because of the wording, but it was still a good book. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and really liked the main girl, Katherine. How she handled everything that was thrown her way and her spunk. There was a mystery as well that kept the story moving. She had a lesson of forgiveness and trusting God in your life that was sprinkled throughout the book without being too strong.
I did feel that they showed affection in public and around each other more than was normal for that time period.
