Nancy learned that her husband is a wanted man when lawmen stormed the house in the middle of the night looking for him. They arrested him but she was left alone to wonder just what he had done. The sheriff questioned her thinking she knew more about his crimes and location. She did not know where he was or when he would be back. The town's residents treated her like she had been involved in her husband's crimes. She decided to sell the house, divorce her husband, and become a mail order bride. Most people in town were glad to see her go. Only Sheriff Dan wanted to find out where she had gone.
Sheriff Dan checked the train station and learned her destination. He learned that she had gone to Arizona as a mail order bride. Sheriff Dan traveled to Arizona and learned that she was living with a man and his friends who collectively were the dirtiest, smelliest, good for nothings who all lived together in filthy house. The men in the house treated her with respect, but made no move to help with cleaning up the house. Finally, when Sheriff Dan showed up and they thought Nancy might be leaving, the men began to help out some.
What will happen with Nancy and Sheriff Dan? What happened with Nancy's husband? Was Nancy able to get the house full of dirty, smelly men to clean up themselves and the house? Read this mail order bride book with a twist and see how it all turned out.
Nancy is so confused. Why was Sheriff Daniel Sampson barging into her house at midnight? Where were they taking her husband Jack? For two months after that fateful night she learned what her husband had been doing when he was supposed to be on his traveling salesman trips, Dan has berated her trying to get her to confess to knowing what her husband had been up to the whole 8 years they had been married. Only she'd had no idea! She had no way of knowing he had committed crimes let alone murder! She has to get out of Dogwood, Wyoming! So when she sees something she had never seen before, she writes to the man who needs help with his three teenage children. When he sends her a train ticket to Joshua Tree, Arizona she is happier than she's been in a very long time! Only how long will her happiness last once she gets to Tom Greenfield and his children? What will Dan do when he realizes she's gone? Has she really seen the last of her now ex-husband? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Lilah Rivers! It's so full of adventure and intrigue you won't want to put it down!
Good story and I highly recommend it! Things are just horrible for Nancy, her husband an outlaw, the sheriff not believing her (she knows nothing about what her husband did), and a town that turns their back on her too. When she decides to become a mail-order bride she finds she ends up in even more trouble. I felt for this character right from the start caught between a rock and a hard place the author did a wonderful job bringing this one to life. I liked Dan too cannot blame him at first for being suspicious but he turns into a real hero. Now the only problem is will Nancy allow Dan to help her? Good story and I highly recommend it!
The author has shown her readers that life is not always what we think it is or should be. Nancy was shocked when the police came knocking on her door and dragged her husband, Jack, off to prison. The sheriff was convinced she knew more about her husband's activity than she was saying. To escape the ridicule from the town folk, who had tagged her evil as well as her husband, she took a plunge in the dark ... unfortunately, out of the fat into the fire. I'll leave it to you to follow Nancy down a very gruesome path. Read and enjoy!
It turns out her husband is a criminal. She didn't know but they question her like she is. She can't take it so she goes as a mail order bride into just as bad a situation. But the Sheriff who terrorized her back where she lived comes out to be with her. But there is a lot between them that needs to heal. Very well written and recommended. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
A Silent Vow of Everlasting Love :An Inspirational Historical Romance Book
This is another one of Lilah's very good and well written stories . Nancy found out her husband was A criminal the night he was arrested and then the town held it against her.Dan was the sheriff and then they fell in love. The characters are realistic and determined and the extended epilogue completes the story A enjoyable read
Nancy Cartwright had a contented life, a nice house, money when needed and a husband that was kind when he was home from his job as a travelling salesman. The only problem is that her life was built on a lie and sheriff, Daniel Sampson, felt like she knew about her husband’s criminal ways. This story has more turn, bends and twists than most and they make for a delightful tale. This was a fun story to read and Lilah Rivers outdid herself with the characters and story line.
I always enjoy Ms. Rivers' books for a sweet story with a happy ending. I liked Nancy and Dan and the interaction between them. Tom and his followers are a mystery for a time, but it doesn't take Dan long to get the picture of what goes on in the house at the edge of Tree Bark. As ever with this author, I would have no hesitation about recommending this sweet, clean book.
Nancy had a tough life which was made inconceivably worse by her husband's means of making a living. Desperate to escape from the disapproval of her neighbors she makes a choice she regretted immediately. Dan, listening to the promptings of his heart followed her. What follows shows God's way of making everything work for the good of those who love Him. Definitely not preachy or in your face. Totally surprised by the ending.
In this story the woman is awakened from her sleep by the sheriff and his deputy coming to arrest her husband. As she learned later he was a vicious criminal and had murdered many people. The sheriff doesn’t believe her when she thought her husband was a traveling salesman. Well the story gets better as you keep reading. Enjoy the story, I did!!!!!
I truly enjoyed reading this wonderful story filled with adventure and a happy ending. Loved the characters. I recommend it to anyone that loves a good adventure. Thanks and congratulations on your amazing ability to write.
Unbeknown to Nancy, her husband is a murdering robber and Sheriff Dan arrests him and thinks Nancy knows what he has been up to, although she has no idea he is anything but a traveling salesman.
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoyed this one a lot. Everything is well written.I was hooked from page 1 with these amazing characters. I recommend it awesome work
This book was such a page turner. The twists and turns were unexpected and intriguing. Thankful for the HEA ending and the extended epilogue offered by the author. Great job, Lilah.
