I am Chris Ferrie, father of four and happy husband. My day job is academic research where I follow my curiosity through the word of quantum physics. My passion for communicating science has led from the most esoteric topics of mathematical physics to more recently writing children’s books.
So many cute bugs! I loved how the bugs were connected to their larger environments and small individual details were included for the different bugs. Highly recommend and I had a fun time reading this!
My first 100 bug words are a great book to have in your classroom. It has 100 different bugs and pictures throughout the book. It also adds words in the book associated with the bugs they are illustrating. This book could be used in the classroom a number of different ways. One way I would use this book in my classroom is to put it in the science center. Having related texts can help develop concepts for children. Another way is when we have our bug unit I could go through the pages with the students and pick out bugs that interest us and find out more. I loved the mix of actual pictures and illustrations of the bugs. Great informative book for kids.
