I love anything about Rebels, so this was a fun book, even though there was little information I didn't already know. It's too bad it only covers the first season.

Unlike some reviewers, I'm not complaining that this doesn't have every minor character to hit the screen for one episode or second-guessing why some characters were included and others weren't. It was written for kids. I just like having a book to grab while rewatching the show and wondering "who is that person again?" without having to get on my phone and go to Wookieepedia.

Contains a lot of filler, and much of the imagery seems to be screenshots taken directly from the show. I was hoping for more concept art, diagrams that do more than point out things like "armored knee guard", sketches, and more content produced exclusively for the book. I would prefer something that expands more on what is seen in the show.

Maybe younger audiences will appreciate this more. The layout and graphic design is well done.

I loved this book! It had phenomenal art from the Star Wars Rebels tv show, plus some of the behind the scenes art at the end of the book. I went into this Rebels visual guide not thinking I would learn anything, but I was wrong. I was happy to learn about the characters ages and other small details that were missed in the show. Also, this book is only the first season of Star Wars Rebels. I recommend reading this book if you enjoy visual guides. :D

This was another great Star Wars reference book that give you the rundown on the vehicles and characters that are seen in Rebels. I really liked what Rebels brought to Star Wars, especially that gorgeous ship The Ghost. This book does a great job at giving the details on the components of the show and with awesome hi resolution images. Rebels gets bonus point for using Ralph McQuarrie's original designs to give us something new.

This guidebook really loses out on only covering the first season, especially when the character, tool, ship, and setting designs change so much over the course of the show. There are a few good references but it's mostly immediately out-of-date. Shame that the really interesting part, the concepts and evolution to the final product, was literally only 5 pages.

As a fan of Star Wars Rebels, I found this visual guide to be a wealth of information. Being a visual guide, the details in the pictures was amazing. As you read you get to learn about the rebels and their resources. You also get to learn about the Empire, their ships, and other weapons.

It's fascinating, and satisfying, but doesn't really contain that much deeper info? I hope the second one's better.

Background info on all of the characters. I think it makes it to the end of season 2 plot? Anyways I have absolutely no reason for reading this aside from life sucks.

A cute reference book. Although it only covers season one, it's still worth a flip through for due hard Rebels fans.

It was nice to see the concept art and hear some of the ideas behind the scenes, but we actually got very little information on the whole from this.

The show's visual style was greatly based on the original concept art of Ralph McQuarrie for the original trilogy, right down to the narrow lightsabers which Ralph had envisioned to be more like rapiers.

It has been 27 years from the invasion of Naboo until the show starts and 14 years since Order 66.

Ezra Bridger is 14 when the show starts. His parents, Mira and Ephraim, spoke out against the Empire and were taken when he was seven. Effectively made an orphan, although the ultimate of his parents is still unknown, Ezra has lived on his own on the streets ever since, relying on his wits and stealing to survive.

Ezra is Force-sensitive; this manifests in his extremely fast reflexes and his "Force-fueled ability to see things just before they happen".

Purpose and family is what he finds with the rebels.

Kanan Jarrus (formerly Caleb Dume) is 28.

Bravery, honor and perseverance. Kanan lost everything with the rise of the Empire and the execution of Order 66. He was only 14 when the Jedi fell, and he never finished his training. He followed Kenobi's message to hide and spent years merely surviving, drifting from world to world. Hera finally got Kanan to join in her fight for a lost way of life.

He is very self-conscious about his past and feels inadequate to be the one to train Ezra. In training Ezra, Kanan is "reclaiming his own journey from student to Jedi Master."

He wears the disguise of a bounty hunter and still wears Jedi boots. (The book says "his" boots, but I feel he must have gotten a new pair along the way because he had to have grown since he was 14.)

Hera Syndulla is a Twi'lek from Ryloth and an accomplished pilot. Now 24, she met Kanan six years ago on Gorse. She is the one who recognizes the strengths of others and is able to draw out the best in them. Without her stabilizing presence or empathetic inspiration, the group would implode at this point. We really need some backstory for these characters. Because what do we really know about Hera? What are her personal motivations for becoming a rebel so young, what is her history with Fulcrum, where did she acquire her ship which she had when she was 18, what happened to her family…

Sabine Wren is a 16 year-old Mandalorian schoolgirl. She is their explosives expert, highly creative and artistic. How did she end up with the Rebels? Why did she leave school? Did she simply disagree with what they were being taught? Did she have an ideological disagreement?

Garazeb (Zeb) Orrelios is approximately 39 and a former member of the Honor Guard of Lasan. He is the only crew member with formal military training. His homeworld was ruthlessly destroyed and his people annihilated by the Empire.

In season two, will we see Zare Leonis again, their inside spy at the cadet academy? Does he ever find out what became of his sister Dhara?

Star Wars Rebels is the new animated series from the creators of The Clone Wars series. When it debuts in October it will be the first major thing released since Star Wars was acquired by Disney.
This book serves as a guide to the series, introducing the characters, locations, and technology we'll see in the show. Speaking of technology, one of the characters build a blaster into his lightsaber hilt, it's a gunsword.
The show will take place about 14 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, just prior to A New Hope. It's a time period that hasn't been explored very much so hopefully it can capitalize on that.
I wasn't exactly excited about Clone Wars when it first came out but it ended up being a pretty good show. Hopefully they can build on that and make a show worth watching.

When I watched the first season of Rebels, I liked it, but was not overly excited. The second season changed all that, and prompted me to check this book out. I became very interested in the show, it's characters and plot. I loved the addition of Ahsoka as well. This was a very comprehensive guide to the series, characters, ships, locales and more. It gave excellent background info and provided a lot of detail.

This was a cool, light intro to the Rebels world. Certainly not in depth, but just a glance. The best part would be the couple of pages at the end where a couple of the show designers talk about their inspiration for a few of the character and background into how the show is made. I would definitely love to hear about more of that.

Welcome to a new version of Star Wars....The Rebels. It does have some spoilers near the end,so if you didn't watch it,I wouldn't read the book if I were you.
I read it because I probably wouldn't see the movie for a long time.So the time I see it,I probably wouldn't remember them.

Nice book for kids, but the text is pretty boring in that is mainly repeats the things the young fan will already know from watching the cartoons. I enjoyed the last few pages where they talk about how the show is made and the how the characters were developed.

This lavishly illustrated volume suffers by comparison to other such Star Wars references due to the shortage of material - only the first season of Rebels is covered. Still, it is an entertaining look at the successful series.
