This was a very charming story. It is told in two time lines, late 1890's and present day. Present day; Chelsea is trying to hide from an abusive ex boyfriend. She goes to stay with her Aunt in a tiny town in Idaho called Chickadee Creek. Her aunt owns an antique shop full of treasures. Liam is an actor on leave depressed by his brothers death. Together these two form a bond and learn to heal. 1895; Cora runs away from her family in order to escape an arranged marriage. She makes it to Chickadee Creek to become a school teacher. She meets Preston and they slowly fall in love. What links these two couples is an old violin found in the antique shop. Both Chelsea and Liam aim to learn about its previous owner. In their search they discover family history rich with so many emotions and a love of music. This was a good heartwarming story that I enjoyed very much.

Sweet, clean slow rolling romance and women’s fiction.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This story is a beautiful blend of life with the story of today and the glimpse into the past. The author tells a tale ripe with history we often see when generations live in the same area. Even better, she correlates the characters in the present to the characters in the past. The similarities between the two tie the story together in a richly detailed manner.
This story is also one based in Christianity. The characters are struggling with issues and emotions. They not only find each other, but strengthen their commitment and love for Christ as they grow together too. Hatcher develops this delightful romance with a slow burn of developing feelings, never once putting aside God as they find each other.
With a small town homey feel and a story bursting with family history and sweetness, this is a delightful read that will leave you anxious for more from this author!
This was a very easy-to-read story which flowed smoothly and fast, but at the same time there was depth which we got through the characters’ journey to freedom - in both past and present timelines. Freedom from expectations, set paths, danger and to learn to Trust God completely.
I enjoyed both story lines, loved seeing both couples grow in their relationship but loved Peter and Cora’s steady, grounded love a bit more. I would have liked to spend a bit more time in their timeline and be more part of their story instead of only being given glimpses.
They way Chelsea grew stronger and overcame her fears as she grew in her newfound relationship with God felt realistic. Liam was just a great leading man and I loved seeing his personal thoughts and feelings through his journal entries.
I’m not sure if this will be a series, I hope there will be a sequel, since I want a bit more story around the pearls…and I’m not feeling ready to say goodbye to these characters.
I know there are a lot of dual-time slip stories out there and I have a little secret to share: I’m not a huge fan of them. Having said that, I thought it was very well done in Make You Feel My Love. The problem I have with them is that I usually want to just stay in one place, I don’t relish going back and forth. Sometimes it feels like you’re being jerked about but again in this story, I didn’t experience that.
Liam Chandler is at a crossroads not really knowing what he wants to do. Will he continue his Hollywood acting career, or will he just stay permanently in Chickadee Creek? He has recently lost his younger brother (blessed with wisdom beyond his years) to cancer. I got to really like and feel a connection to Liam through his journal entries about his struggles with his parents, and how much he is still grieving the loss of his brother, Jacob.
Chelsea Spencer has also arrived in Chickadee Creek to help her great-aunt Rosemary recover from surgery, and help her out in running her antique store. Chelsea was a bit harder to connect with but that could be because of the trauma she has experienced, and so kudos to Ms. Hatcher for being able to accurately portray this kind of character! Chelsea was very gun shy to reveal herself to even this reader(in my opinion).
Cora Anderson is trying to make a new life for herself after leaving her family and her betrothed, who she isn’t in love with, and knows he won’t be faithful to her in marriage should she go ahead with it.
Cora leaves all that she knows and makes a new life for herself becoming and obtaining her teacher certification, and she finds herself in Chickadee Creek in 1895, to fill a position as a teacher. It is there she meets Preston Chandler.
This was very sweet and that is the word that kept coming to mind, an incredibly sweet love story between Liam and Chelsea. Their connection to the past to Cora and Preston was poetic, and it was like a slow waltz that took place between each of them. It is not just a love story between two people but also between the people God has created and His hopes for his people to love well. 4.5 sparkly stars.
My gratitude to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson. "I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Chickadee Creek, Idaho Present Day & 1895-1936
Lovely time slip novel with a family connection between the two timelines. In the present day story, Hollywood movie star Liam has come to Chickadee Creek to escape the pace of his movie star life and grieve the loss of his brother. Chelsea moved to Chickadee Creek to flee a bad relationship and help her great aunt with an antique store.
In the prior day thread, Liam's relatives are the main characters. Aspiring violinist Cora Anderson shows a great deal of courage to leave New York City for an unknown life in the west. She has no idea of where she is going. Only that she doesn't want to marry the man her father has planned.
In both story lines, characters are seeking refuge and find it in small Chickadee Creek. Beautifully written and engaging.
There's something so comforting about slipping into a well-loved author's book. Even though the characters and setting may be different, there's still a sense of homecoming. That's the way I feel about Robin Lee Hatcher's stories. There's familiarity in the storytelling style and the blessed predictability of a well executed inspirational thread. I know I'm going to be entertained and uplifted and come away a little heart-and-soul smarter. Happy, happy sigh. So I entered this read with an anticipatory thrill that still hasn't faded.
Dual timeline heaven.
Two heroines at crossroads, striving to find a place of security and peace. A place to grow into the kind of women God wants them to be. And their heroes -- successful, driven men who are rooted in their faith.
I especially loved the way Liam (present day hero) was so deliberate about waiting on God's direction in some really important areas of his life despite outside pressures that tried to force him into making decisions he wasn't ready to make.
And the way the author brings these two timelines together into a thrilling connection wrapped the story up in a page-turning frenzy of delight.
Oh -- and honorable mentions to Chipper, rescue dog hero who deserves all kinds of accolades and a life time's worth of tasty treats. :-)
I really liked the way faith was weaved into this book... Into those characters lives and feelings, the raw faith... That's the best part of the book
Also the way all characters from past and present are intertwined, it was all nice and pretty fine read and you know who relationship I liked best of all.. it's between chelsea & her aunt rosemary , chelsea & Liam
Each character individually was written to the best . Every single character had it's beauty .. I truly liked them.. Liam's family and history and revelations kept me wanting to read though it was predictable
Okay so Liam's journal and authentic feelings are the best parts of the book for me
What I felt lack was romance or love relationship between Liam & Chelsea.. I felt it slightly lacked in building it up.. it just felt like friends .. IDK I just didn't feel their relationship and feelings building up
Also, the past story and the present story together felt a bit slow paced and slight bit boring
I need a book to lay on the beach and read and this one fit the bill. I have to say I have read some heavy hitters and this one is just not one of them, but a fun read this the same. Our main character is running away from a terrible relationship and in the process she meets a famous actor hiding from fame after his brother dies. Both has scares and both find each other as friends to lean on, but can there be more? This book show how living a life not glorifying Christ can be lead to terrible mistakes. Both found a relationship with Christ and eventhough their past does come back to them that they can rely on Christ and soon realize that they can rely on each other as well. It is a good read and recommend it for anyone. I did enjoy it, not one of my favorites of the year but really good none the same!
What a good, uplifting story! This is a dual timeline book, with one story taking place in the present and the other story mostly taking place in the late 1800’s. I liked that the stories were connected not only through family lineage, but also in the way that the main characters of Cora and Chelsea had to let go of their fears and put their trust in God.
I loved the present day storyline between Chelsea and Liam. What a wonderful connection these two made! They both had some very painful things to work through and I appreciated that they both leaned on God to help them. Liam’s faith, which he had not focused on very strongly for the past few years, grew deeper. Chelsea was a new believer and it was wonderful to see her relying on Bible verses to help her overcome all that weighed her down.
I really liked that Chelsea, who had endured so much abuse as a child and as a young adult, was starting a fresh, new life. And who did she end up with? A handsome, good, and wonderful man who just happened to be a movie star! That added a fun twist to things. The romance that bloomed between Chelsea and Liam was just perfect, too.
Over 100 years apart two women find new beginnings, hope, and love in rural Chickadee Creek.
An invitation to help out her great-aunt at her antique shop after a fall, is the perfect escape for Chelsea Spencer who is looking for a place to lay low after leaving am abusive relationship. There she discovers a violin that carries the story of Cora Anderson, a woman over 100 years ago who left a controlling father to find a fresh start on her own.
Chelsea has been through a lot in her life, and I admired her courage in taking that leap of faith to leave a horrible situation. I really liked how she held onto her faith after what she experienced. Aunt Rosemary welcomes Chelsea's help, she is a wealth of stories, with her own unique way of organizing things, an she isn't above some matchmaking!
This something of a dual-timeline read, though the main story is more about Chelsea, I enjoyed both storylines. Cora breaks free of her father's unfavorable plans for her life, and I loved how God brought wonderful friends into her life, as well as her love of music. Liam is re-valuating his life after moving back to Chickadee Creek from life as a working actor in Hollywood, I admired his strong values and his faith.
Overall, this was a touching romance, with wonderfully crafted characters, a welcoming rural community, and an engaging dual time storyline. I loved both Chelsea and Cora, who were strong heroines full of faith and courage. This was a quick read for me, because I didn't want to put it down and I was equally invested in both Cora and Chelsea's stories and where they would lead. Another fantastic read from one of my favorite authors, Robin Lee Hatcher!
Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher is a charming Christian dual timeline that will warm your heart and soul.
The action alternates between present day and late nineteenth century as we follow stories linked by ancestry. Both stories have themes echoing each other. Both stories tell of God who is faithful, urging us to choose faith not fear.
There is the theme of forgiveness. It is not always easy to do but it is vital for our well-being.
In both tales there is the theme of domestic abuse. It takes many forms, not just physical but verbal too. “Chelsea covered her ears … trying to shut out the voices from the past.” We need to silence the hateful words from the enemy and listen to the life-affirming voice of God.
When life is hard, we see that God is still faithful. “Nothing we go through is wasted in God’s economy.” We learn our greatest lessons at times of greatest trial.
“I wasn’t looking for God.” We do not need to be looking for God in order to be found by Him. When He comes knocking on the door of our hearts, we need to invite Him in.
Both time periods have the theme of rescue – women are rescued from their situations due to personal strength of character and love. Not all men are out to put women down. God rescues us from our lives of disconnection to Him.
A character is struggling with loss. He feels “guilty for being alive.” As a bond is severed by death, the love and the memories remain.
Those with the most treasure are those who love well. Chasing earthly treasures of wealth and power will never bring contentment. “For all his wealth and power, he was a miserable man. He would never have enough.” The gods of this world will never satisfy. Only when we rest in God can we find true rest and contentment.
I really loved Make You Feel My Love. The characters were warm and welcoming, and the presence of God shone through the words of Robin Lee Hatcher.
Robin Lee Hatcher has become one of my all time favorite authors, and I especially adore her books where dual timelines play a part. Make You Feel My Love is the book that the Christian publishing world has been desperately in need of, and I'm not sure words can even express how much I adored this particular title.
One of my favorite things about this author's books is the fact that faith is always at the front and center. This beautiful story focuses around two strong female protagonists, one in the present day and one in the 1890's, who are trying to put the traumatic abuse of their past behind them. When Chelsea in the present day encounters a beautiful antique violin in her great aunt's store, it sparks a journey to discover the history of the previous owner (Cora), and the way it ties into Cora's relative Liam in the present day.
As Cora and Preston grow closer in the past, and Liam and Chelsea begin to develop feelings in the present, the reader gets a first hand view of the healing that comes along in the process and how both couples are determined to let go and let God no matter the circumstances. I loved the way that faith in Jesus is represented as not an absence of problems, but rather the guarantee that you will get through it with Him standing by your side. Rarely have I seen the faith element be so seamlessly and authentically inserted into a story, and it speaks volumes of the talent of this author.
Make You Feel My Love is a breathtakingly beautiful story that highlights faith, family, friendship and love, and is truly Robin Lee Hatcher at her best. This is definitely one of the best books I've read this year, and I can't possibly recommend it enough.
Final Rating: 5/5.
Movie star Liam Chandler is still healing after the death of his brother. Retreating to Chickadee Creek, Idaho, which his ancestors help settle years ago, Liam embraces a quiet life where he can remain anonymous.
Chelsea Spencer is hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend and helping her great-aunt Rosemary get back on her feet after surgery. As Chelsea helps organize Rosemary's antique store, she finds a priceless treasure that once belonged to one of Chickadee Creek's most prominent families.
In the historical half of the novel, Preston Chandler sets up his mining business while socialite-turned-schoolteacher Cora Anderson finds solace in the mountains after running from her past.
I've come to really enjoy Robin Lee Hatcher's split-time novels. Her characters are always interesting, and this time I especially related to Chelsea, who had a conservative upbringing not dissimilar to my own, though thankfully mine was not traumatic in the same way. I also appreciate how Robin uses short scenes to keep you turning pages. You want to find out what happens to the characters! The faith content is always solid as well. I'll be looking forward to her next release!
This was an enjoyable, dual timeline read. It features two young women who are both escaping their home due to controlling fathers who use forms of punishment to control them to their will. Both women escape to Chickadee Creek Idaho: one to an aunt and the other to a teaching position. Chelsea Spencer ,in the present day timeline, meets a young man who is taking a time away from his movie career to determine what he wants to do going forward with his life. Cora Anderson, in the historical timeline, meets a gentleman who had inherited money and is trying to use that money to build a life for himself. Can these men show Chelsea and Cora how to move beyond their pasts and what true love is really like?
The themes run deep throughout both story lines focusing on grief, trust, love, and faith. Two quotes summed the themes of this story up: "Don't rush back to the old normal," and "Nothing we go through is wasted in God's economy. Our hurts. Our mistakes. Even our own stupidity."
#BookReview: Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher
I wanted to read this book before the next one comes out next month. I'm glad I did. It was a sweet, simple and enjoyable story. I loved how faith elements were weaved in the story and bible verses could be found throughout the book. I enjoyed Preston and Cora's love story better. I do like how Chelsea had to learn to live by faith rather than fear. What happened to her was not good but Liam was there for her. I just didn't feel the chemistry. Aunt Rosemary was a fun and sweet aunt.
Thank you Thomas Nelson for the complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was a dual timeline novel connected by location and by family ties. I sometimes have trouble keeping track of characters in this type of novel, but this one was easy, as the author labeled chapters by the name and date of the character/situation involved. The typeface also changed when one character wrote in a journal. I appreciated these efforts by the author or publisher to delineate the timelines.
In the late 1800s, wealthy Cora Anderson is fleeing an authoritarian father and an arranged, loveless match. She determines to take her future into her own hands and runs away, ending up as a schoolteacher in a tiny one-room school in the mountains of Idaho, where she meets Preston Chandler, heir to a dying gold-mining enterprise. (I kept picturing Elizabeth Thatcher in When Calls the Heart!) But her father has spies out to recapture her and stop her bid for freedom.
Present-day Chelsea Spencer has found refuge in her aunt's antique shop in tiny Chickadee Creek, Idaho. She is finally safe from an abusive father, but she is hiding from an abusive boyfriend, when she meets mysterious Liam Chandler, a descendant of the town's first family of years past. Both of them are struggling with family problems, but they have in common their growing faith in God and their blossoming friendship. But Liam is out of the state when Chelsea's dangerous boyfriend finally finds her.
Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher is an excellent time-slip novel that follows two women, over a hundred years apart, as they search for freedom, safety, confidence, and love in the rural town of Chickadee Creek.
I didn’t use to like dual-time stories. I always tended to favor the historical timelines and felt cheated out of a longer, richer story because the pages were split between two stories. But novels like Make You Feel My Love have made me fall in love with this genre! The two timelines in this book are beautifully woven together--both in the connection between Liam and in ancestors who had lived in the area for over 100 years and in the fearful flight of Cora and Chelsea.
You will not feel cheated by this story. Its themes run deep as the characters work through issues with grief, trust, fear, and faith. There were so many beautiful and genuine scenes of human emotion. I was caught up in the moment right along with the characters time and again.
And unlike other time slip novels I’ve read, I didn’t favor one timeline over the other. They were both equally interesting, and I had to know how they ended as well as how they were connected.
One of my favorite parts of his book was Liam’s journal entries which were a journey through his grief over his brother’s passing and his faith in God. The truth Liam found on his own while choosing to face his brother’s death, his family’s dysfunction, and his desire to live according to God’s will spoke to me. They were often simple things, but sometimes it’s the simple truths that we aren’t willing to admit or live with.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and all its characters. If you are a fan of dual-time novels, you will like it, too! And if you haven’t tried many books from this genre, I encourage you to try this one!
Chickadee Creek is a place of healing and rejuvenation for an actor, a woman fleeing a bad relationship and, a century before them, a woman escaping family expectations. Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher is a dual-time novel that is full of discovery, soul mending, and new beginnings.
As someone who lived in the state for several years, I always enjoy visiting Idaho again in Hatcher’s books. She brings the beauty of the area to life and those small towns are alive and well. But even more, the depth in her stories resonates with me.
The way Liam and Chelsea’s modern-day story connects with Cora and Preston’s historical one is well-done. Each timeline is interesting on its own, but once the connection occurs, they are even more satisfying. And I appreciated Liam and Chelsea’s friendship that grew into more.
Hatcher delivers another read that will delight both contemporary and historical romance fans with wonderful characters (and one memorable pup) that you should not miss.
Thanks to Thomas Nelson for the free book. I liked how with this book, even though there was romance, it wasn't the main focus. Instead, the author used God's word as healing for the characters. Each one, there are four POVs here, needed reminded of goodness and grace somewhere in this story. I liked how they were connected through this violin, but I wished there had been more of this pivotal plot piece in the story. I also felt like the story built slowly and ended way too quickly. However, I loved the characters. Their authenticity and struggles felt real and relatable. I also found that I loved the wisdom of the supporting characters in the book. While they weren't the main focus, their presence added a richness to the story.
'We've come a long way, haven't we, God?'
I've been a Robin Lee Hatcher fan for a lot of years and never miss one of her good books. She certainly pulls on the heart strings here. A sweet time slip, we meet such wonderful characters. Folks with real problems, some very hard, but who have learned that trusting God will make all the difference. I loved it from the beginning to the end. This story is poignant, moving and such a pleasure to read. Well done!
This story was told in an unusual way.
I've read plenty of stories with dual timelines, but this novel also included journal entries. I'm not sure how I felt about them to be honest. Much of the information in the journal was repeated from the scenes prior, so they may have been unnecessary, but they did add depth to the male character's point-of-view.
I loved the faith journey of the characters, and their love story complimented their relationship to God.
This isn't a book I would normally read, but I'm glad I did.
I enjoyed this story very much. It was a little different from the stories I usually read but there was depth and purpose to the story. It drew a couple from a different time and a couple in the modern day and flashed between their stories, which were very similar.
Preston had inherited an old mine in Chickadee Creek, Idaho, and a good amount of money from a cousin. He moved to Chickadee Creek to increase his fortune and grow a business. He met a beautiful woman by the name of Cora Alexander who had been hired to be the new school teacher for the small town. It was obvious that this woman had come from privilege and money so why would she be a school teacher in a small town. As he began to spend time with Cora, he began to learn more of her story of a controlling father who forced his only child to do his bidding and marry whom he chose, even when it would never make her happy. In her desire to be free, she fled the comforts of home with her violin and made her own way, making friends along the way.
Chelsea had been abused, both physically and emotionally by her father and after his death, her boyfriend, Tom, abused her, as well. When she tried to leave him, he made threats and was determined to keep her for his own. She fled to Chickadee Creek to help her Great Aunt Rosemary after a leg injury and surgery. She was grateful for the chance to get away and "disappear". She was guarded and never wanted to be someone to be owned by any other man.
Liam was an up-and-coming movie star who fled LA when his younger brother battled cancer and eventually died. He wasn't sure he ever wanted to return to that life until he found a project that was worth pursuing. During his time in Chickadee Creek, though, he became friends with Chelsea, the beautiful red-haired woman and her great aunt, Rosemary. Chelsea was kind and was not only beautiful, but had a beautiful heart, as well. He began to see what his brother had always wanted for him; happiness and the love of a good woman and a strong faith and belief in God. He could see all that with Chelsea if he was willing to take a leap of faith and was able to convince her to come along.
These were beautiful stories woven so masterfully together, both with happy endings. It was interesting to see how their stories were so intertwined, even though they were from different times. It was a clean, wholesome read for anyone in search of a good book.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Robin Lee Hatcher has done it again. Make You Feel My Love is a wonderful story. It’s one I didn’t want to end. The writing is beautiful. The transitions between the contemporary story and the historical story work very well, and I found that when I came to the end of each chapter I desperately needed to turn the page to discover what was coming next. In addition to the flawless writing, I love the characters. This story focuses on four unique characters — Preston and Cora, and Liam and Chelsea. Preston and Cora’s story tells about the foundation of the Chandler family line that eventually leads to Liam and his brother, Jacob. I don’t want to accidentally let slip how Preston and Cora come together as a couple, but let me say, it is Cora’s bravery and courage to do what she did in the late 1800s as a single woman that had me glued to my chair refusing to do anything but read this story. Cora is outstanding and I cheered for her the whole time. I actually wish I had a pinch of her bravery. Liam and Chelsea’s story is the modern-era story and I was hooked from page 1. Chelsea, who is running from a real-life terror, ends up seeking refuge at her great-aunt’s home in Chickadee Creek, Idaho. It is here in Chickadee Creek that she meets, and slowly falls for, Liam Chandler. Liam is in Chickadee Creek trying to come to grips with the loss of his beloved brother, Jacob. As their friendship grows and the trust between them blossoms, both Liam and Chelsea find themselves falling for each other hard. What I appreciate the most about their journey to love is how they both make clear right from the start that their relationship with God matters the most. God will be their center or no-go. Personally, I think being equally yoked may be the most important aspect to a couple’s relationship so I really, really love this. I also really love how Liam and Chelsea force themselves to push past the hard emotions that they would normally hide in order to be 100% honest and open with one another. There is so much to like about their relationship, but it’s their reliance on God and their drive to be honest and open with each other that makes Liam and Chelsea’s relationship spectacular. And, if this isn’t enough reason to love this book, the many thought-provoking and self-reflective topics set this novel up as way more than just a sweet Romance tale.
Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher is a spectacular novel that I highly, highly recommend. If you love Contemporary Romances, if you love Historical Romances, and if you love stories that make you think and self-reflect, then definitely add Make You Feel My Love to your TBR list today. You will definitely want to read this beautiful story!
The title of this book puts an earworm in my head, so I look it up and it's a Bob Dylan song from 1997, and the song encapsulates the basics of Robin Lee Hatcher's plot.
Chelsea needs to escape a bad relationship and her timing couldn't be better because her great-aunt needs some help to recover from a fall. So Chelsea ends up in Chickadee Creek, Idaho, to help Rosemary get back on her feet.
Liam recently lost his younger brother to cancer and needs to hide from the glitz and glam of Hollywood to mourn his loss. Chickadee Creek offers him the refuge he needs to get away from all that his life in Hollywood entails.
While Chelsea is helping Rosemary clean up her antique shop, she comes across a violin, something she always wanted to learn. Rosemary gives the violin to her, but she finds out that the instrument is worth far more than she ever imagined and it once belonged to Liam's great-great grand mother, Cora.
Chelsea takes the violin to Liam, but instead of wanting it for himself, he gives the instrument to Chelsea for her own use. The more Chelsea and Liam are around each other, the more they begin to like each other. Chelsea has her own dark secrets that she has to overcome to grow in her relationship with Liam. Both Rosemary and Liam help Chelsea with battling her fears and growing her faith.
I have been familiar with Robin's writings for many years. She wrote for the secular market before she started writing for the Christian market and I saw many of her books in the bookstore where I worked for over fifteen years. The quality of her writing has not changed, just the focus. I appreciate the way Robin has worked growing faith into her novels and she even used my favorite verse in this one. 😊
Robin tells Chelsea's and Liam's stories along with the history of the town of Chickadee Creek and Liam's forebears in this book. It takes a while for the two plots to merge together but each story is a fascination in and of itself. This is a solid four star book that is great to read on a rainy day, curled up with a blanket and a cup of hot tea by your side.
Robin Lee Hatcher is one of those super-consistent authors, where "you know it's going to be good." (Lol, I might have just used my local grocery store's slogan there. But, it's still true!)
I am constantly amazed at the sheer quantity of books she has produced over the years, and that each one is quality! She doesn't sacrifice plot or character development just to produce another read, and it shows; "Make You Feel My Love" is no exception.
Juggling four different points of view (and, granted, in an eARC with the occasional formatting wonkiness that's fully to be expected) was interesting at times, but I did really enjoy getting insight into each character from both their own inner thoughts and interactions with others. The timeslip component was well done; I did expect a bit more in-depth tie-in, but still enjoyed what it did offer! And omw, Chipper was just a delightful dog. I'm not usually attached to in-book pets, but this one was particularly enjoyable.
Chelsea Spencer goes to Chickadee Creek to help her great aunt Rosemary with her antique shop while her Aunt recovers. Liam Chandler is a local homeowner who is a Hollywood star that is contemplating his future and hiding out from his agent who wants him to sign for a blockbuster movie that is trying to recruit him. Chelsea and Liam become interested in Liam's family history in the town and especially in an old violin that was found in the shop and belonged to Liam's great-great grandmother. This is a charming story and involves family dynamics in both Chelsea's family and Liam's family. and values and integrity.
