Frankincense and Murder

Rate this book
Bed-and-breakfast owner Liz Eckardt’s plans for a quiet Christmas in Amish country are upended by increasingly sinister misdeeds.

With no reservations booked, Olde Mansion Inn owner Liz Eckardt is ready for a relaxing staycation—until perfume chemist Jasper Boone and his pregnant wife, Maia, turn up on her doorstep in need of a room. A winter storm soon ushers in another surprise visitor, an unpleasant jeweler named Mel Crippen who is sorely lacking in Christmas spirit. When Elvis impersonator Bart Salazar, a.k.a. the King, arrives, Liz’s hope for a few silent nights is definitely over.

Nevertheless, all is merry and bright until a guest’s car is burgled. And the trouble is only beginning. When things take a deadly turn, more than one guest falls under suspicion. Liz knows it’s time make a list of likely culprits and check it twice, especially when the sheriff arrests who she believes to be the wrong man. Can Liz catch the real killer and reunite an innocent man with his family before the arrival of his child? Or is Pleasant Creek destined for a not-so-merry Christmas?

This clever whodunit is a must-read for fans of cozy mysteries, holiday stories, and female friendships.

What's better than a Christmas cozy read? One filled with murder and mystery. Usually murder during the Christmas season wouldn't be fun 😂😂 BUT the way this played out made it an interesting way to spend a few hours.

This one actually isn’t a part of the Amish Inn Mystery series. It is more of a companion book for the series. It is one of the Mistletoe Mysteries. It is still a good one.

I enjoyed reading this book. The action was on going and it was a story that took place at christmas time when a murder happened in a small town . A lady that owns a bed and breakfast place has a warmth to people that come within a storm. The become like a family but someone in that family was murdered and did some one in that family do the murder. If you want a quick read on a cold nite or day with a hot coffee or hot chocolate and put your feet up this book is definitely a good read.

Very cute and cleaver easy read, perfect for the holidays. Would say that while there is murder and some violence, it is suitable for young readers (age 10 and up maybe?) as well as adults looking for a quick and fun, wholesome adventure with some educational features. This is one of the first books I’ve read that has recipes for the meals it describes in the back, which is like getting an extra Christmas gift!
