I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Zoe lost her parents as a young child after they were killed in a tragic accident she was raised by her grandmother who has always been the one to encourage her to be more outgoing but after losing her parents she withdrew from the world and his in her beloved books loving characters that will never leave her. It’s when she is accompanies her best friend Sarah to watch her boyfriend Hunter train she thinks that she recognises the new teammate as her best friend Nick whom she hasn’t seen since she was twelve. But they were children the last time they saw one another surely he won’t remember her and even if he did he wouldn’t be interested in a book nerd like her or would he?
Nick has transferred from community college to be a part of a college football team, he knows how girls are about footballers and they are only out for what they can get so when Hunter introduces him to his girlfriend Sarah and her friend Zoe something triggers in his brain, surely this can’t be the Zoe who vanished from his life when they were children but one look at her and he knows she is the girl he has wondered about for years and their connection is immediate and Nick knows that he has found her he isn’t giving her up without a fight even if he has to fight Zoe herself. Can Nick prove to Zoe that the only thing that matters is love, their love for each other?
I loved this quick little novella and I found the writing matched the story. It’s easy to fall in love with Zoe and Nick and want them to have a fantastic HEA. I cannot wait to read more from this up and coming author in the very near future. 4* Read

Nick Me was my first read by Harper Woods and I am so glad I took a chance on it. How could not fall head over heels in love with Nick! Zoe and Nick were best friends as children until a tragedy took her away from him. Since then Zoe has kept herself closed off to people for fear of losing them. Now that Nick has found Zoe again, he is determined to claim her once and for all! I recommend reading if you enjoy second chance, best friend romance.

Like the first one in the series: some things I liked, but overall, there wasn't that spark to really push it up. Still, it's not a bad short story read - a lunchtime sort of escape - but just OK.
Standard nerd-jock romance with the added detail that Zoe (h) and Nick (H) were childhood friends now reunited in college.
Both of the leads are likable, but a little flat. Same with the the plot. We spend a lot of time with the lead up to when they get together, then the couple weeks that they're actually dating are glossed over until she breaks up with him. It felt forced, very little lead in to that FB post, before she freaks out. And let's face it - she was an anxious drama queen who freaked out and acted the martyr. "I realized that we could never withstand the pressure society would put on us." That statement alone sounds high drama. So she breaks up with him 'because it's in his best interest.' Just no. She couldn't stand it. She freaked out over one FB post and ran away - he acted and dealt with things pretty responsibly. She never talked to him about what he wanted, just ran away. But this was someone she was super close to for years, who she should be comfortable talking to, and who she's been dating for weeks! But no, no conversation, just telling him to get lost. And yet,
Also, a question on the timeline. The leads were best friends until they were 12, when her parents died. But they were having tea parties in the treehouse until then? And he couldn't understand what was going on? And they couldn't stay in touch? 12 is typically a 6th or 7th grader - solidly middle school. Even though they might still hang out in the treehouse, I can't think of any middle schooler who'd still be having tea parties. And Ok, I'll bite that they lost touch with the move, even though so many middle schoolers have phones and text nonstop. They could still lose touch - out of sight, out of mind. But 'not understanding what's going on'? This is middle school. It might be painful and hard to understand, but there are picture books covering death. Surely a 12 year old could at least understand that something had happened to their friend's family, even if they were overwhelmed by it. I mean, it was a freaking car crash, not like a mob murder or serial killer or death on a covert mission overseas - something that might be harder to explain. The comments each lead made just sounded like they were much much younger. Just felt weird.
And it's still not a narrative style that works for me. Like the first book, it's lots of monologue, lots of description. Still that tell vs show sort of issue.
Also in the 'writing style' column: the author really likes the "signs from dead relatives" gimmick. In the first book, we had rain from the dead twin. In this one, the feathers from dead parents. Reading the stories back to back (which is very easy to do, as they're only short stories), it really stuck out.
Still not sure about the titles in this series. The guy's name, plus "me"? Just doesn't make sense to me, especially since their names aren't even verbs.
A few editing errors - more than in the first book. Lots of basic typos, really (our/out, found/founds - that sort of thing).
Alternating 1st person POV - very train of thought narration. Mild OW drama - little build-up, though, and it's mostly about h freaking out than actual OW drama. No OM drama. No cheating or love triangles. Standard jock-nerd storyline, with the leads having been childhood friends too. I know it's just a short story, so not tons of chances for development (plot or character), but the narrative style didn't help things. Just never really clicked with me, and I really didn't like her freak-out martyr break-up. Really not a favorite plot device anyways, but just didn't seem like the groundwork was laid for it to feel like anything other than her over-reacting. Still, quick and low angst read. HEA with epilogue, no cliffhangers.
Would I read more by this author? Why not. Both books in the series so far were both free on Kindle, and they are both lunchtime length. Not particular standout favorites, but not a bad escape break. Not one I'd particularly look for either, though.

When people start saying mean and spiteful things about them over the internet will the girl who now is a shy version of her self and the boy who plays football have a chance at a HEA or will it all just something else to remember in their past?
This is an amazing short story. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This was a fantastic book!! I couldn’t put it down!! Zoe and Nick are great characters, with amazing chemistry. I highly recommend this book!!
Zoe had to leave everything behind, at a young age, due to a tragedy. This included her best friend, Nick. Years later, Nick changes colleges, due to their football program. It’s there, he sees the best friend, that had to leave him behind all those years ago. Can Zoe and Nick pick right back up where they left off??

Way to rushed
Sorry this book just didn't do it for me. I gwtvthats its a novella but way to rush it I mean they meet say I love you the first day... i like novellas but there has to be a time line it all happens within a 3 week period way to fast for me and the drama ends sfter 2 pages. I was hoping for so much more from the description

Such a cute college/sports romance. Nick and Zoe are such lovable character and their chemistry together is super steamy hot. This short story has the sweetest HEA and this is a definite must-read for everyone!

This was my first read from this author. It's a very short story about Zoe and Nick. First person point of view, which is always a deal breaker for me. 5 stars. A quick read.

This is a great read. The characters are well developed and engaging and the connection is strong and undeniable. The storyline has a smooth flow that helps the words flow great.

Zoe and Nick were childhood friends until Zoe's parents were tragically killed in a car accident and she left to live with her grandparents. Neither ever forgot the other though. Reconnecting unexpectedly years later in college, the two pick up where they left off and start dating. But, Zoe is insecure and shy and can hardly believe that the star football player would ever have any interest in her.
I have not laughed that hard in awhile while reading. I don't think that was the intention .... but, c'mon. The descriptions, especially Zoe's internal dialogue about her body, were just ridiculous. The stereotyping was over the top (Nick, football player, hot. Zoe, librarian, geeky, glasses/bun/sweater set). And, the college they go to seems a bit like where all the mean girls from an after school special on bullying would go. There was even a little bit of the supernatural in the form of a feather delivered from heaven from Zoe's dead parents.
Don't take it too seriously. It's a quick read. Save it for when your having a bad day and need an escape.

Lots of potential
I gave this book 3 stars as I felt it was a little rushed. The whole book sempt to be in fast forward. The story idea is really good and I feel it has lots of potential it just needs bulking out a little bit for my taste.

Too much
Little fast and loose with the love word. I enjoyed book one but this book made me have secondhand embarrassment. I'm still going to give book 3 a try.

Nick and Zoe story was so hot. I truly enjoyed every page turn and I am still blushing so hard. A sweet little love story.

"Nick Me" tells the story of Nick and Zoe, childhood friends reunited in college. Zoe lost her parents in an accident when she was twelve and moved to live with her grandparents. When she accompanies her best friend to a football practise, she discovers the team's new player is Nick, the boy she left behind. When her best friend's boyfriend brings Nick over to meet the girls, Nick is first struck by how beautiful she is. Then that she is the girl he has always loved.
This is a sweet and steamy instalove (or is it also a second chance?!) romance. You will not be able to help relating to Zoe while swooning over Nick.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Childhood friends finding each other and getting together. Nick is not willing to give up Zoe when a jealous girl scares her off. He arranges a very public proposal which she accepts. I like the supernatural aspect to these books.
